Harry had never felt so safe in his life. There were arms holding him close and he was warm and comfortable. He snuggled in deeper to the warmth and felt the arms tighten around him. Harry gave a content sigh. He didn’t want to wake up. He didn’t want the dream to end. Slowly he opened his eyes and realized, it wasn’t a dream. There were arms wrapped around him. He looked down and realized that it was Draco who held him. He recognized his family ring. Harry carefully rolled over to face Draco. With their toes touching, Harry realized that Draco was just a little taller than him. He fit right under his chin. Harry watched him sleep, memorizing how he looked. It was so different from when he was awake. There was no mask, no emotions, just peace on his face. Long lashes rested on his cheeks, his mouth was slightly open as he slept. Harry couldn’t help but smile. Draco truly was beautiful. Harry closed his eyes and drifted back to sleep. He was woken up a few hours later. He felt someone touching his face. Fingers traced down his nose, over his cheeks, and across his forehead. He sighed and turned into the touch. No one had ever touched him like that. Hell, his first real hug had been from Molly when he was eleven. The hand cupped his cheek and he felt the thumb rub his cheek. Harry opened his eyes and saw Draco. He was propped up on one arm, slightly leaning over him. He was looking at Harry’s neck and hadn’t realized he was awake. When he looked up and made eye contact with Harry, he quickly dropped his arm and hopped off the couch. Harry saw the flash of shock and shame wash over Draco’s face before he moved.
‘Why would he feel shame?’ Harry thought as he stood up too.
“Morning Draco.”
“Morning Harry.”
“Ready for breakfast? We could go to the hall or eat here.”
“Lets go to the hall. It’ll be quiet for once.”
The two walked to the hall in an awkward silence. Before they walked in Harry stopped.
“Draco, why did I see shame this morning?”
Draco looked Harry in the eye and Harry watched as a mask snapped down over his eyes.
“Because you’re Harry Potter. Everyone know that you are destined to be with Ginny.” Draco turned and walked through the doors. Harry stood stunned as he watched his friend walk away.
‘Now where in the hell did that rumor come from?’ he thought as he followed Draco.
“I want to know where you heard that rumor.” Harry stated as he sat down across from Draco.
“It started after you saved her our second year. Not sure who started it though.” Draco refused to look at Harry. Harry rolled his eyes as he served up his breakfast.
“Well, whom ever started it is an idiot and don’t know me very well.”
Draco snapped his head up,
“Oh really?”
Harry gave a snort of laughter, almost inhaling a bite of egg as he tried to not laugh. Draco went back to eating, waiting for Harry to explain. Harry quickly finished his breakfast, he wanted to be able to talk if need be.
“The reason I said they must not know me very well is because I’m gay Draco.”
It was Draco’s turn to inhale food. His head snapped up and he locked eyes with Harry.
“I realized I was last year with the Yule and the whole Cho thing.”
Draco kept watching him.
“How has this not gotten out yet?”
“Most people don’t believe it.” Harry chuckled.
‘I have a chance!’ Draco thought as he watched Harry laugh. He started planning on how he would woo his dark-haired friend. He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn’t see Harry stand up. Harry leaned in close to Draco’s face.
“Draco, I see the wheels turning. You only have to ask.”
Harry watched as the biggest grin he had ever seen plastered itself to Draco’s face.
“Go out with me next weekend?”
“Yes.”

Sorry everyone for the long gap between chapters, school has really been eating up a lot of my time since finals are a few weeks away. I'm really looking forward to the next few chapters and cna't wait to post them for you all!
