(You have no idea, but I can’t fix it right now. Get ready though. The shit might hit the fan not long after the Remus you see leaves.) Naruto responded through the link before going quiet.
Moments later, after breakfast finished, Harry saw Remus leave the Great Hall …

“There. Everything is gone.” A relieved Dumbledore said as he finished clearing out the third floor corridor.
Now he just had to go find one horcrux so he can prove that he had a good reason for everything he did. Of course, there was always Harry Potter, but he wanted the boy to be a bonus. What he really wanted was to prove that he knew where to find them. With that in mind the headmaster decided to go back to get the box he found under the old floorboards of the Gaunt shack. There’s no denying that something that heavily cursed was exactly what he needed.
“I have just enough time to get it before dinner.” Dumbledore said and immediately flooed out of his office.
Just like before he stepped out of the floo of an empty building and apparated to the broken down dwelling. Without any subtly this time around he spelled all the floorboards away. Of course, it was then quite easy to see the cursed box. The headmaster wasted no time levitating the box over to him.
“Definitely shouldn’t touch it.” Dumbledore mumbled and quickly summoned a slightly bigger box that was covered in runes and lowered the floating box into the new box.
Relief started quickly spreading through him the second he returned to his office with the contained box. Of course, he knew he had to make sure the soul fragment was still there. However , as he went to dinner he couldn’t help feeling much better about his situation.
Minerva smiled as the headmaster entered the Great Hall, “You do look refreshed, Albus. Do you feel better?”
“I do. It was a much needed rest. Thank you, Minerva.” Dumbledore said cheerfully before sitting down and watching the students and other staff members file into the room.
Despite not actually having a moment of real rest he did feel better. Cleaning out any evidence of his crimes did make him feel cleansed. The one thing he wanted to do was to remove the curses on the little box he found. Once he confirms that there was a horcrux attached to it then he can sleep peacefully.
“It must’ve been a tiring day for everyone.” Minerva said noticing that everyone seemed tired.
After swallowing a tasty morsel Dumbledore nodded, “I’m sure everyone just needs a good sleep.” The headmaster commented casually as he savored his meal.
Of course, he knew that feeling tired was a side effect of the spell he used to freeze everyone. It didn’t help that he kept everyone frozen until he properly removed the memory of the chicken prank either. In fact, that was probably why many students looked so unsteady on their feet too. The longer someone is under that spell the worse the side effects. None of that bothered the headmaster though. He just wanted to eat in peace and finish his plans.
After eating his fill he dismissed all the tired students and went to his office. The protective container was opened up revealing the cursed box inside. With great care Dumbledore examined the smaller box. It took several minutes, but he was able to remove the curses.
Sadly, the headmaster opened up the small box and found that the ring hidden inside had even more curses. One of the curses was tugging at his senses. A desire to put the ring on began to grow, which Dumbledore did his best to ignore as he prepared to remove the curses.
“The Gaunt ring … if it is a Hallow then I have to keep it from being destroyed somehow.” Dumbledore murmured trying to give himself a reason to focus on breaking the curses first.
Out of nowhere a different distraction interrupted the headmaster. For a moment he was annoyed because he wanted to finish what he was doing. However, his annoyance quickly vanished when he realized the interruption was a different ring. It was, in fact, the buzz of the Wizengamot ring, which was on the third finger of his right hand.
There was no way he could finish removing the curses now. He had to leave right now, not only to avoid suspicions, but also to see what had been found. Even if he was sure he got everything removed fast enough he had to know. With the ring once again secured in its box he flooed to the ministry.
Dumbledore smiled despite his unease at the sight of everyone already being present, “I see everyone is here. Has there been a development?” He asked calmly as he took his seat at the table with the other Wizengamot members, who seemed nervous.
It unnerved him that everyone was not only there, but they seemed to have already been looking at some evidence. Of course, he assumed the items, albeit odd, were relevant to why they were here. Among those items were an empty bag of chips, a chip floating in a potion, a piece of paper with questions and a vial of dirt. The only things that seemed normal were a set of pensieve memories.
Tom sighed after the awkward silence lingered too long for his taste, “In short, yes.” He said as he leaned forward and placed his hand on the table near everything. The slight sound told Dumbledore that Tom’s hand had just set something down. “There has been a disturbing development.” He commented and pulled his hand away revealing that the Philosopher’s Stone was now sitting innocently on the table.
It took everything Dumbledore had to not panic, “The Philosopher’s stone? Where did you get that?” He asked, trying to think of the best way to turn this on Tom. After all, he knew why Tom had the stone so he just needed to expose Voldemort for who he is.
Doge sighed sadly, “Albus … we all saw the memories.” He said and gestured to the side of the room. Dumbledore finally noticed that Mark and Remus were standing there. “We know that you put several traps in the third floor corridor and hid the stone at the end-“
“Those traps were in place to keep students out of the corridor and away from some dark artifacts that were found.” Dumbledore said quickly without missing a beat. “I wasn’t the only one aware of it. All of the professors knew and even made some of the traps.”
Tom hummed, “How many will vow to seeing these artifacts with their own eyes?” He asked calmly as Dumbledore stiffened. “We’re willing to bring them here and ask, but first explain why you not only hid dangerous artifacts in Hogwarts, but also with a dangerous creature and without proper locking spells? Any child could’ve been killed.”
Dumbledore rubbed his temples and sighed sadly, “Hagrid wanted to help out. I never knew about the lack of security or the creature. That’s my fault, but what does this have to do with Professor Quirrell?” He asked, trying to change the subject.
Amelia pointed to the items on the table, “We will come back to that terrible security subject later. Now these were found hidden in Quirinus’ room. Does any of this mean anything to you?”
Dumbledore expertly hid his relief and his annoyance towards the house elf that didn’t follow his orders properly. He leaned over slightly and took a closer look at the items. Nothing struck him as concerning right off. The vial of dirt didn’t seem important. The paper with questions didn’t strike him as something to worry about either. However, the questions were interesting.
‘Why did I offer to go there?’
‘Why three?’
‘Agreed too easily?’
‘More test than security?’
‘New favorite snack is potioned? Suggested to me before agreeing - sponsor?’
The old headmaster felt an odd knot in the pit of his stomach. His eyes slowly went over to the empty bag of chips. They seemed familiar for some reason, but he couldn’t remember why. However, once his eyes looked at the lonely chip floating in a potion filled vial a disturbing thought came to his mind.
“I’m afraid I don’t know. Where did you get these things?” Dumbledore asked while secretly praying the chip wasn’t from the brand he was thinking of.
Mark stepped forward, “Remus located most of everything here in an enchanted portrait that hung in Quirinus’ living quarters. It was found after you sent a house elf to bring you everything from those living quarters. Thankfully, we gathered what we assumed was everything and the house elf just took it without searching further.”
Amelia nodded, “Albus … why are you sponsoring this company?”
“What?” Dumbledore gasped slightly, not expecting that subject. “I don’t know-“
“We already know that you do.” Tom said not caring at all that he cut off Dumbledore mid sentence. “No one here would ever raise any doubt towards you without checking everything first. We have confirmed that Quirinus Quirrell went to Albania. We are all aware that he used portraits for hiding things, which is exactly how the trolls were hidden-“
“So Quirinus accidentally killed himself?” Dumbledore immediately interrupted. It was a desperate attempt to derail anything.
Amelia’s eyes narrowed, “No. However, according to these questions he was sent to get the three trolls and he had no clue why he agreed. It seems he started investigating and it led him to the very company you sponsor by using Harry Potter’s money.”
Dumbledore’s hands clenched the armrests of his chair, “Harry Potter-“
Doge frowned, “I just want to say I understand why you never said that you are Harry’s magical guardian. It was for his safety, but you can’t use his money like that.” He said clearly hurt that his friend never confided in him.
“I never betrayed young Harry and even if I did make an investment on his behalf it has nothing to do with this supposed potion crime! I most certainly never asked for trolls.” Dumbledore exclaimed, truly sounding hurt.
“Denying it is pointless.” Tom said with a sigh. “The ‘supposed’ potion crime was confirmed and is being dealt with. I know it’s late, but Harry has agreed to stay with us to confirm what you say. However, I find it hard to believe a child agreed to invest.” He commented casually as he gestured for Remus to go out of the room.
“You brought a child here after curfew without my permission?” Dumbledore exclaimed, sounding deeply insulted and immediately stood up as if to be dramatic, but Naruto’s sharp eyes noticed that he was getting ready to bolt.
Tom ignored Dumbledore’s outburst and smiled at the young boy, “Just stay with Remus for a moment.” He said kindly as if he wasn’t working with the green eyed wizard. Harry played innocent and Tom turned back to Dumbledore. “You used the word ‘asked’ before. I don’t believe you ever asked for trolls, a trip to Albania or for Hagrid to get rid of the trolls and get giant snake nutrition.” He commented making it very clear that they knew where the trolls were. “Thanks to Mark we know you’re perfectly capable of wording everything so you never really ask. With the potion laced chips it’d be easy to get people to agree. However, if you have nothing to hide why did you remove everything from the third floor corridor? Did these artifacts disappear? Where did the three headed hound go?”
Dumbledore inhaled sharply, “I found a safer means of securing them.” He answered deliberately avoiding the hound subject.
“Did you?” Lucius asked curiously before glancing at Mark. “Mark investigated that corridor. There were no artifacts. Only the stone.”
Dumbledore’s eyes locked on the Auror, “You found the stone.”
“Yes, sir.” Mark said politely. “After going through an obstacle course, or test, like set of traps that a smart first year student could complete, I found the stone in the enchanted mirror … and I returned an hour ago only to find everything gone.” He reported taking note of the headmaster’s confusion. “Did you think Voldemort destroyed your game? I found your horcrux research and Doge explained what it meant.” He said and Dumbledore’s jaw dropped.
Doge looked sadly at his old friend, “He’s gone-“
“No he’s not.” Dumbledore said in a cold tone that most people wouldn’t believe he was capable of. “Voldemort is right here in this room and I can prove it. Just check Harry’s scar.” He demanded firmly while staring directly at Tom. At this point he knew any of his potions or charm he once had wasn’t going to persuade them.
Doge sighed and went over to Harry, who was clinging to Remus’ hand, “Harry, can I see your scar for a moment?”
“My scar? Which one?” Harry asked while subtly tugging at his shirt nervously subtly implying that he had more than one.
“Your forehead, boy.” Dumbledore said quickly, trying desperately to get everyone to understand why he did what he did. Unfortunately, he wasn’t charming anyone with that snapping.
Amelia glared at Dumbledore, “Albus, that attitude won’t be tolerated. He’s just a child.”
Doge looked at his old friend in disapproval, but Dumbledore was unaffected so he focused back on Harry, “This won’t hurt a bit, ok?”
Harry hesitantly nodded and took a step towards Doge. The young wizard still didn’t go too far from Remus’ side, however. In fact, Harry never let go of the werewolf’s hand as the wand scanned his lightning bolt shaped scar. No one said anything as the scanning went on.
Dumbledore had a slight smug air around him as he watched Doge finish the scanning and move away from Harry, “As you can see-“
“‘There’s no horcrux.” Doge said solemnly. He winced at the blank expression on Dumbledore’s face. Clearly the headmaster wasn’t comprehending what he just said. “Albus … I don’t know what you saw-“
The headmaster glared at Tom, “You potioned everyone, didn’t you?! I won’t let you win.” He exclaimed as he pointed his wand at Tom making everyone, except Tom, gasp in shock and horror.
Slowly and calmly Tom moved so he was standing in front of Dumbledore, “I vow on my magic that I am not, nor have ever been Voldemort or one of his followers.” He announced firmly and allowed Dumbledore a moment of smugness before making a simple ball of fire appear in his hand. “As you can see, I am still able to use magic.” He commented knowing that Lucius, Remus and Harry were suppressing their amusement .
“No … that’s not possible.” Dumbledore said breathlessly.
Tom scoffed, “It is. Of course, even if I was Voldemort, does that give you the right to set up dangerous tests in a school or to erase the memories of everyone in the school when they learn that your Phoenix is a chicken? … I should hope not. Now, can you do the same, Dumbledore? Can you vow that you didn’t manipulate everyone’s memories? Can you vow that you never took money from Harry without his knowledge? Can you even vow that you didn’t kill Quirinus Quirrell?” He asked, urging the wizard to do so.
A few moments of tense silence ticked by. Many people there wanted the headmaster to say any vow to save himself, but the once revered old wizard just pointed his wand at them …
