Hello my lovely's!!!!! I know, I know. It's been a while. I lost my mojo for a while but I am back now and plan to chug until this story is done! We are almost to Draco and Hermione being reunited and of course for Hermione's parents to reunite with their daughter (all next chapter btw). Anywho, this chapter is all from Hermione's POV. Next chapter we will be getting back to both POV's. So here is this chapter. As always responce to reviews are at the bottom and please leave me more (they really keep me focused on finishing this story so I can start another one).
“This was the best idea ever,” Daphne said after she finished her third slice of pizza.
“I still cannot believe you guys have never eaten anything in Muggle London before,” Ginny said as she finished her fourth breadstick.
“I can,” Hermione piped up. “You hadn’t eaten anything here either until Harry and I brought you here over the summer.”
After an afternoon of shopping un both muggle London and Diagon Alley, they decided to stop for dinner at the Pizzeria that Hermione’s parents had taken her to when she was a child. Hermione sat and listened to the girls converse about what they got their significant other. Pansy had gotten Theo a new watch as he had broken his during the war. Daphne had gotten Ron a wool cloak, that was light to carry, for the winter months that he was in the field for auror work. Ginny got Harry a pair of gloves so when it was wet outside his wand wouldn’t slip.
“Wait till you see what Hermione got Draco,” Pansy squealed.
“What is it?” Ginny asked as Hermione pulled out the jewelry box.
“Is it a bracelet?” Daphne inquired.
“No,” Hermione replied. She pulled off the lid to show them the watch. “It’s a pocket watch.”
“Oooo…” all the girls exclaimed. The watch was silver and on the top it said “Η αληθινή αγάπη είναι απόλυτα ατελής”.
“What’s it mean?” Ginny asked.
“It says ‘True love is perfectly imperfect’.” Hermione stated. “It is part of a saying my father use to tell me.” She took the watch out of the box to open it. The watch face had a Mother of Pearl face and the hands, numbers, and tick marks were black. On the end of the hour hand was a small amethyst and on the minute hand was a small sapphire.
“That is beautiful,” Daphne said. “What language in on the top?”
“Greek,” Pansy said smiling.
“Do you remember our date in the Room of Requirement?” The girls nodded in unison. “Well, the room had procured a balcony that overlooked one of the wine vineyards in Greece. I believe his family owns some of the land. Anyway, I’m pretty sure he knows the language.”
“It’s wonderful.” Daphne said.
“So romantic.” Pansy added.
“He’s going to love it,” Ginny whispered as she pulled Hermione into a hug.
The girls finished their pizza and chatted away about their plans for the rest of the holiday. “We should go get some ice cream and a film.” Ginny said once all the pizza was gone. “Then we can go back to Harry’s and set up pillows and stuff.”
“What’s a film?” Daphne asked, thoroughly confused. Pansy had the same look on her face.
“Only one of the coolest things in existence in the muggle world!” Ginny exclaimed.
Hermione smiled. “It’s a disk that has moving pictures and sound.”
“Ooo, that sounds interesting.” Pansy said. “Let’s go get some films.”
Hermione paid the bill and lead the group of girls a few streets down to the movie store. After much deliberation, they decided on two movies; one action, The Mask of Zorro, and the other romance, Ever After. After that, they continued to the grocers to get ice cream and fizzy drinks. By the time they got back to Harry’s, Pansy and Daphne were eager to start the first film, The Mask of Zorro. As soon as everyone was settled, Hermione started the movie.

HG: I love you.
DM: I love you, too.
HG: How was your day?
DM: Pretty boring, actually. Yours?
HG: Same until Ginny and I met Pansy and Daphne in Diagon Alley.
DM: And how did that go?
HG: It was fun. We did some shopping there, went into Muggle London to do some more shopping, then we stopped at a pizza place for dinner.
DM: So what are you doing now?
HG: Watching the end of a film on Harry’s telly.
DM: I have heard about films. They are like our moving picture but have sound right?
HG: Right.
DM: I’ve never seen one. We should go see one while we are still on break. What’s the film about?
HG: The one we are watching now is called a Romance with the title Ever After. It’s about a girl who lost her mother as a baby. Her father remarried when she was about 8, but he got sick and died not long after. She was left to her stepmother and two stepsisters. They treated her like garbage. But one day she met the prince of the country and after secretly meeting for a while, they fell in love and got married.
DM: Sounds interesting. I would like to watch it with you one day.
HG: Really?
DM: Yes, really. Why does that surprise you?
HG: Not many males are willing watch a romance film.
DM: Well, I’m not most males. I love you and if you want to watch a romance film then I will watch it with you.
HG: Have I ever told you that you are the best? The girls are looking at me funny because I have a huge smile on my face, but the film is showing a sad part right now.
DM: Do you want me to let you get back to it?
HG: No. I’ve seen it many times. I’d much rather talk to you.
DM: Okay. What do you want to talk about?
HG: Question thirteen. If you could go back and change one thing about your past, what would it be?
Hermione brought her attention back to the movie because she knew it would take him a while to reply. She watched as Anjelica Huston’s character ripped one of Drew Barrymore’s character’s wings off her back. She continued watching until Patrick Godfrey set down the slipper and walked away from Dougray Scott.
DM: That’s a tough one. There isn’t any one thing that I would change, but a few things. The first would my perception of my father and the second would be following his beliefs. If I hadn’t been so concerned about impressing him and trying to be like him, I probably wouldn’t have thought of myself as superior to you and called you nasty names. Who knows, maybe we would have been friends. Maybe, but at the same time, I don’t think I would change anything because everything happens for a reason and if anything had happened differently, we may not be together. There was a time in fifth year where I couldn’t be away from you – to be free of you – but now, I truly can’t imagine – nor do I want to – my life without you. You are my absolute everything and I will do everything I can to make sure I keep you. I love you more than life itself.
HG: I love you, too. I miss you so much. You make me so happy. I can’t imagine my life without you either. I can’t wait till you get back so I can show you how much.
DM: Oh, yeah? And how would you show me?
HG: As much as I would love to go into detail, the film is over and I now have prying eyes.
DM: Hahaha. Everyone with me is fast asleep.
HG: Aren’t you so lucky? Hahaha. Anyway, the girls and I are going to get ready for bed. Got any last words of encouragement before tea with your mother?
DM: You can handle my mother. She absolutely loves you. It’s the others you should watch out for. They are very two sided. I have a suspicion that mother is holding this tea to see what pureblood families are serious about changing for the better. Accepting you, like mother and I have, is the first step. Don’t worry about any insults. Even though I’m not there, mother will defend you.
HG: That’s a lot to take in and kind of a lot of pressure.
DM: I didn’t mean for it to sound like that, love.
HG: What if they don’t accept me? What will happen?
DM: The Sacred Twenty-eight have already shunned my family so I honestly don’t care. I know that I love you and that you are my world. As long as I have you, I’m sure everything will be just fine.
HG: I love how you make me smile. Only one more day. When on Christmas Eve do you think you will be back?
DM: I think midday, but I’ll have to check.
HG: Okay. I love you.
DM: I love you, too. Sleep well and dream of me.
HG: Always.

You can do this. Things are different now. Narcissa accepts you. Draco loves you. Things are different. Bellatrix is gone.
“Hey,” Ginny whispered as she linked her arm through Hermione’s. “You okay?”
“I don’t know if I can do this without him, Ginny.” Hermione whispered back.
Ginny stopped suddenly and pulled Hermione into a hug. The house elf that was escorting them stopped a little farther down the hall to give the girls a little bit of space. Ginny pulled away, but still held her shoulders. “There is no one that is going to harm you. Look around. Narcissa has been mending this house for the better. Does it look the same?” Hermione shook her head. “The last thing she would want if for you to not want to be here. I’ll be right by your side the whole time. I promise.”
Hermione nodded, took a deep breath, and continued forward with Ginny’s help. They had only made their way around one more corner before they saw Narcissa making her way towards them.
“There you two are. Everyone else is here and I was starting to get worried. I wanted to meet you in the foyer, but Rose and Stephanie wouldn’t stop blubbering about the Manor,” she said when she reached them. “As if I wouldn’t redecorate after the Dark Lord was destroyed. I have always despised darkly lit houses. I prefer color.” She linked her arm through Hermione’s left and escorted them to the tea room. She completely missed the look Ginny and Hermione gave each other and continued on. “How has your holiday been so far?”
“Boring, actually.” Ginny said first. “We wanted to take the boys into Muggle London.”
“And we still will,” Hermione said. “When they get back, and after Christmas.” Hermione turned back to Narcissa. “We took Daphne and Pansy there yesterday. They had lots of fun. Harry and Ron have been there, but we didn’t think that Draco, Theo, or Blaise have been so we are going to take them after Christmas.”
As Narcissa lead them into the room, she said, “One of these days I wouldn’t mind going into Muggle London.”
“Really Narcissa?” Mrs. Parkinson asked.
“Why not, Rose? My son is in a relationship with a muggleborn, this muggleborn to be exact. Why should we force her to act and behave like a pureblood since she isn’t, it is up to my son and I to learn about how she was raised and taught so that she can be more comfortable around us. Relationships go both ways, Rose, and it’s time to get rid of some of the pureblood traditions.” Without missing a beat, Narcissa turned to Hermione holding a tray. “Can I interest you in a sandwich?”
“Yes, please.” Hermione, having quickly pulled herself out of her shocked state, smiled at Narcissa. “Your home looks absolutely beautiful.”
“Thank you. Draco and I really wanted a fresh start. First thing was redecorating.” A Hmph could be heard from Rose. Hermione looked up in time to see Pansy roll her eyes.
“Get over it, mother,” she said forcefully. “Everyone is moving forward, why can’t you and father?”
“Because, dear. That’s not how things work.” Rose replied.
“That’s not how things use to work. Times are different now. Hermione is a great person and even better friend, if you can’t accept her or the Weasley’s then I-I-I will leave. You can disown me, I don’t care, but that also means you will not be at my wedding and you will not see your grandchildren. The Greengrass’s have adjusted. Why can’t you?”
To say Rose was stunned is an understatement. She opened and closed her mouth, stuttering a few times, before looking down to adjust her napkin. When she looked up again, she met her daughters pleading eyes and said, “I will talk with your father.”
“That’s all I ask.” Pansy said, smiling. Not much came from Rose’s mouth after that.
Everyone conversed for some time afterwards until about an hour had passed. Then they were off for a tour that Stephanie Greengrass was dying to have. Once that was over, Narcissa lead Hermione, Ginny, and Molly to a vacant room that held a huge walk-in closet and told them to pick their favorites.
LadyShire: Thank you for your reviews, they really keep me going. I wish I had updated this sooner. It bugs me that I made a promise to update weekly and haven't been able to keep it. Things are going to change though. Just keep being patient with me, though. In many of my past relationships, I have had to go through what Draco is going through with Mrs. Granger not warming up to him right away, but I can assure you that she will. I decided to work on one thing at a time now. So the letters have been put on the back burner for the time being but I haven't forgotten about them. Right now I want to get through the Grangers returning and how Hermione will react. My grandma is doing better but we know that she will never be the same now. She is home (finally), but most times, she still speaks as if she were a toddler trying to form words and sentences. It's going to take a lot of time and patience though. Patience is something I've learned to have even if I hate it. Time on the other hand is not something I think she has a lot of any more. We are all chugging along though. I'm hoping that I can finish this story before she passes though because I don't want to leave you hanging any more. I hope all is well with you and your family.
Thunderbird: I'm glad you liked the character development. I really wanted to show where everyone was coming from because those discussions are important to have. I also wanted to show how excited Mr. Granger was about getting to know more about Draco. Without saying it, I wanted to hint that Mr. Granger was excited because Draco isn't Ron. While Ron is good guy, Mr. Granger never thought of his as the perfect person for his daughter.
It has definitely been a struggle. To add onto everything, my husband lost his job in construction and had to go back to the food industry making $6 less then before so now we are really struggling to keep up with everything. Writing has been a great escape for me, especially now that I am at the point that first gave me the idea for this story. The next chapter is going to be quite a bit longer (at least that's what I'm hoping for).
I agree. I am also on Fanfiction.net and they allow people to message back and forth, but I don't have my story on there yet. I figured going back would be best since this site doesn't have messaging. I understand keeping identities seperate. I think that if someone really wanted my advise I would direct them to by business page on facebook simply because I don't have any information about my family on there. But that is still just a thought. If you decide to get an anonyous email for all things thunderbird, I will definitely be interested in having a way to communicate with you. Maybe we could bounce some ideas for our stories off of each other. Maybe I will do an anonymous account if other people want to get ideas from me, but seeing as how only you and LadyShire comment regularly, I might wait until others take interest in my work first.
