Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter or any recongizable characters, nor do I make any money off of this story. |
The first part of this chapter is written in letters. It's only between Grace and Lucius, and Vis Versa, except for the inclusion of the letter that Hermione left for Lucius and then a couple letters from Harry to Lucius. I hope you enjoy it, and we weill be getting back to some more plot, and some smut oh so very soon. I hope you leave a few words of encouragement for me. it's not required, but it is very much appreciated. Luvs and kisses.

Dear Lucius
This letter contains everything I was not able to tell you to your face. You are submerged in your pain and I have no idea how to help you bring yourself out. I’m sorry you are hurting. I know you miss Grace, and I know you’re upset with Harry for intervening…but I cannot help you deal with your grief. You are a private man emotionally, and I realize this. So I feel it is better for both of us if I let you grieve by yourself.
Emotions do not make us weak, they make us human. I am not angry with you. I still love you very much, but you are going to have to come to grips with what has happened. Harry has more claim on Grace now than you do, because the child she carries is his. I know these archaic laws, Lucius, because I filed some of them away in the Archives. And you know it, too.
I hope that you can see soon that how you are acting has affected those around you. Draco does not like seeing you like this either. Until such a time, I will be moving into a flat of my own. Sirius offered to let me stay in Grimmauld Place, but that is the home he has made for Tom and himself. Any owl can find me should you wish my presence again.
Love,
Hermione

Dear father
Harry and I have settled nicely into the new house. It’s so beautiful here. I saw a deer in the back yard yesterday. There’s a huge garden in the back that’s grown over, but Harry and I are going to plant a few vegetables there. He’s good at gardening and I want to learn.
We have a lot of land around here. Our nearest neighbors are over three miles away! Even still they drove to the house the day we arrived and brought us supper. Southern hospitality is very nice.
I miss England. I miss you. But I think it will be good for everyone if we have a little time apart. It’s so peaceful around here that I could just sleep in the front yard and only hear the bugs.
I’m not so sick anymore. Sure, there’s a little ‘normal’ nausea, but it’s not like it was at St. Mungos. Harry still has a couple more of those vials of special potion that Mr. Snape made for me. Just a couple drops usually help settle my stomach, and keep me from getting malnourished. We met the doctor in town yesterday and she says I’m too skinny. She doesn’t know all that happened but we told her I was working on getting healthy.
Well, I’ll let you get back to whatever business you are doing.
Love,
Grace
P.s – Nala says hi.

Dear father
Did you get my last letter? I waited two weeks for a reply but I didn’t get one. I thought it might be the international owl, but Harry says it only takes a week for those to arrive. Are you mad at me? Did I do something wrong? Harry says you must be upset that I left.
You surprised me with that potion, dad. You didn’t even talk with me about it. You can’t possibly expect me to just roll over and not have said anything. As scared as I was to be someone’s mother I would have been furious if you had taken that away from me so needlessly.
Please write back soon.
Love,
Grace

Dear father
It’s been so boring around here. We had a snow storm and couldn’t send any owls for a while. It wasn’t so bad, because we have a nice fireplace and really awesome wood burning heaters through the house. Harry’s been teaching me how to cook while we’ve been cooped up. The first day I nearly set the water on fire. Not really sure how…
The neighbor lady had been coming to visit us every few days since we got here. She’s been teaching me how to knit. It’s actually very soothing. I managed to make a sock.
There is a program though the Salem Institute that I am looking into. It allows home study. I’ve sent away for the books and Harry will take me in May to take my OWLs. It’s actually not too bad because they have really detailed study guides for it. This way I don’t have to go onto a campus.
I hope you are doing well. Hermione sent a letter right before the snow storm and told us she’d decided to go for a Potions Mastery. She said Mr. Snape was going to Apprentice her! I was surprised when Harry said that he had never taken an Apprentice. He must think she’s very smart.
Well, I’m going to try my hand at grilled cheese sandwiches tonight, so I better cut this short.
Much love,
Grace

Mr Malfoy
Grace is very upset that you haven’t replied to any of her letters. She is very insecure about it. She wonders what she has done to cause you to be angry at her. She doesn’t understand your little snit.
I think you’re being a selfish git and you should really sort out your priorities. Grace still loves you, though I can’t imagine why, and if you don’t get your head out of your arse really soon you are going to lose that.

Dear father
I heard from Hermione last week. She is doing well. She said she hadn’t heard from you either. What’s happened to you, dad? Can’t you just forgive us? I don’t know what I did to make you mad at me, but Hermione didn’t do anything.
Anyway…the doctor finally said I’m starting to gain weight well now. I can’t tell if I’m starting to get a baby bump or if it’s just me getting back to my old size. Harry has been so kind to me. I got kind of dizzy yesterday in the garden and he went back to the house and got a blanket for me. He made me sit down for a little while. Then he made me supper. He is a really good cook.
I still look for a reply from you, dad.
Much love,
Grace

Twins! We’re having twins! I was so surprised, dad. We went to get an ultrasound to find out what gender the baby was going to be, and the doctor looks at us and says there’s two babies! And they’re both boys. Harry is so ecstatic. It’s kinda funny really. He tries to be all cool and macho about it, but I saw him do a little dance when he thought I wasn’t looking.
Did you know Hermione is going for a Mastery in Potions? She actually got Mr. Snape to Apprentice her. Harry says that’s a really big deal, because he has never taken on an apprentice. He said that in the Potions world, that Mr. Snape is a very big deal. I don’t know much about that, but I know he’s a nice guy and he saved me. I hope Hermione does well.
Speaking of school type things, I got the results of my independent OWLs. I passed with flying colors on all the main ones, and even made an A in Runes. I dabbled a bit when I lived with mom, but I just had to do a refresher for the tests.
I hope to hear from you soon, dad. I really miss you. Maybe we’ll come for a visit soon.
Love,
Grace

Father
We got married today. We finally decided that we wanted the same things. I love Harry and he loves me. I want him to be there as the father of my babies. I want to be his wife. And I am. I hope you’re not too angry.

Mr. Malfoy
We’ve had to put Grace on bed rest due to how far along she is with the twins. Her physician says that she is built for child bearing with the width of her hips, but she doesn’t want to take any chances with two babies.
We were hoping you would accept an invitation to come for the birth of the boys. I know you hate me, and I know that you didn’t want this for Grace, but what’s done is done. Please. Grace wants you to be there. She hasn’t heard from you in nearly a year, and it’s making her really sad.
Regards

Mr. Malfoy
The twins were born this morning at 7:20 and 7:32 respectively. We named the first born James Sirius Potter, and the second born Lucas Apollo Potter. Grace picked Lucas’ name as homage to you. I think it’s an honor you’re not worth having.
Draco is here with us, as you know, bonding with his new nephews. His letters have kept Grace happy these last few months. I hope you’re happy with yourself, because that’s all you’re going to have if you don’t get your head out of your ass.
Enclosed is a picture of Grace and the twins.

Dad
I can’t do it anymore. I can’t keep on writing you and hoping you think it’s important enough to write back. I’m sorry, but this is the last letter you’ll be getting from me for a while. I’ll let you know if anything major happens, but other than that I’m done pretending nothing happened.
The fact remains that you tried to kill my sons without my consent. I know you were trying to help. But help who? Me, or you? I don’t know anymore.
I hope you have a good life.
Grace

Dad
We are having a one-year party for the twins and you are invited. Draco has a standing invitation to come and I think Hermione is going to be able to take off time from her apprenticeship to come. We invited Mr. Snape so his son could play with the boys, and I think he’ll be coming too. Sirius and Tom are going to be here as well. I hope to see you.

We will not invite you to anything else. I will not get myself and the boys excited just to be disappointed by grandpa Malfoy. I’m not sorry for keeping my sons.

5-14-2007 (A little over four years later)
A small family spilled out of a taxi on a street in London. The mother picked up a small blonde toddler, cradling the girl’s head against her shoulder as the child’s head nodded sleepily. The father took the hands of his twin sons, making sure they did not run back into the road. The boys would be four that September, and they were very much adamant about being treated like the big boys they were.
The Potter family hadn’t been in England for over four years. They had arrived only two weeks prior, having decided to move back to the home of Mr. Potter’s family, and Mrs. Potter’s father.
Grace had gained a few inches in height since she was in England last. She still had a figure, but her curves were softer and more mature. She had the body of a mother now, and every curve had been earned. Her sleek blonde hair had been cropped to her shoulders, adding to the more mature vision. Her makeup was lightly done and her silver eyes sparkled in the midday sun.
Harry figure had filled out too, but with muscle. There had been a working garden on their estate in North Carolina, and they had both worked it diligently. But Harry had taken to the farming a bit better than Grace, who had done a much better job at keeping up with the children. His hair was a bit longer than when he left, and stuck up just as much. At present it was swept away from his face, revealing the rune-shaped scar on his forehead for the world to see. He wasn’t ashamed of it anymore. It was as much a part of him as his eyes or his ears.
James and Lucas had the dark, tousled hair of the Potter family. They were thin and wiry, and had inherited their grandfather Potter’s mischievous spirit. Their eyes, though, were all Malfoy. Their silver eyes tended to twinkle wildly when they were up to no good, or darken when they were in a temper. In fact, Grace and Harry had both become very good at gauging their moods by the shades of their eyes. It was an art.
Analyn appeared to have been gifted with the Malfoy genes at first glance. She was willowy and delicate in features, her face narrow and very patrician. But her eyes were also her most striking feature. She had gotten her father’s eyes, which were incidentally her grandmother’s eyes. They were green as emeralds, adding to her beauty. In fact, her favorite nick-name from her father was ‘Little Green Eyes.’
They walked up the stone stoop of the old stately house, and Harry only let go of Lucas’ hand long enough to ring the doorbell. A few moments, the thudding sound of footprints, and the door was opened to reveal a young man.
Tom had grown marvelously over the years. He was still tall and lean, and his hair was combed over in an extremely outdated part, but his crimson eyes sparkled with joy at seeing them.
“Harry!” he exclaimed, hugging the man before he turned to the twins. “Heya Lucas, James!” he said. The boys pulled from their father’s grasp and all but tackled Tom. He threw an arm around each of them and laughed heartily.
A dark shadow rose up behind Tom, a shrouded figure with a tattered cape appearing over his shoulder.
“Hey, Viatoris, could you be a doll and help us get the luggage?” Grace asked.
The Dementor ‘humphed’ slightly, crossing his long, skeletal arms. “What am I, a valet service now? Do I just lug your suitcases around at your leisure?” He asked half-heartedly.
He was interrupted by a crimson streak nearly taking him off of his feet. Nala had been taking care of some business in the bushes, and now she was in the house, squawking for her friend. The gryffix was fully grown now, and the size of a mountain cat. Her wingspan was quite impressive when fully extended, and she had finally grown into the impressive powers Viatoris had mentioned years ago. The boys liked to get rides on her back around the yard. Ana liked to nap on her back right between her wings.
The great feline hadn’t been feeling quite up to snuff lately. Grace had noticed a distinct lack of sheen to her fur. She would not eat often, and when she did she vaguely played with her spicy kibble. The only thing Harry could get for her that she would eat was raw meat with strips of insanely hot peppers tossed in. She had been eating the dangerous combination for nearly a week now. It was to the point she couldn’t even get near anyone’s face without the fumes from her pepper breath burning their eyes. She had sat in the corner just the last night and cried after accidentally making Ana’s eyes water from her breath.
“Well, I wonder where Nala’s off to? I think we know who she missed most.” Harry said with a laugh.
They entered the house with minimal fuss, and Grace dropped Ana off in one of the guest bedrooms to finish her nap. Then, all the inhabitants of the house convened around the table. Sirius sat at the head, with his current girlfriend sitting to the left.
Farrah was no overt beauty, but she had a kind disposition and hidden, fiery temper that had drawn Sirius like a moth to a flame. He had recognized her as the kind nurse that had taken such good care of Tom when he was stuck in St. Mungos after his hands and feet were cursed. He was very serious about her, and had been dating her for a little over a year. He had told no one that he planned to propose to her soon.
“All right. So she still has no idea?” Harry asked, turning his eyes ever so often to where James and Lucas were playing in the corner of the kitchen.
James had a wooden figurine Quidditch player, and he was zooming the little doll around the floor. Lucas was leaning against the cabinet with Alphard’s head in his lap, stroking the growing Basilisk. Alphard was now a solid eight feet long, with a narrow, sinewy body that spoke of both speed and strength.
The yellow eyes were hooded; the Killing gaze turned off, so his eyes were harmless as he raised his wedge-shaped head and bumped Lucas’ cheek gently. Lucas laughed and scratched under his jaw. The forked tongue lolled out happily, and the tip of his long tail twitched.
Very nice, young sir…you have a gentle touch. It is most appreciated.
“She has been kept completely in the dark. Severus knows, but he won’t tell her.” Sirius replied, a smirk on his face.
Harry grinned. “He always was a secretive old bat.” He said, almost fondly. He’d never get along with Snape, but the man had saved his wife’s life, and by default his sons’ lives as well. And so he would be forever grateful.
They were planning a surprise party for Hermione to celebrate her induction into the Masters rank of Potions. She was the second youngest Master in English history, with Snape being the first, but she had outstripped everyone in the speed of the completion of the amount of work she had to complete for her rank. It had taken Snape five years to finish his work, and had taken Hermione only three. He was a bit sore about that, but he still owned the title of youngest Potions Master, so he still had his bragging rights.
All of the old crowd was invited. Many of the old professors from Hogwarts, and some of their old friends as well. Even the Weasleys were coming. All except Ron. He had a falling out with the entire family after it had come to light what he had done to Harry. The other siblings disowned him, and Molly and Arthur told him they wouldn’t forgive him until he asked forgiveness from Harry. And being stubborn Ron, he had run off with his current girlfriend and was at present working on surpassing his mother and father for the amount of children one could bear.
Harry glanced over at his sons again, and noticed that James had stopped playing with his Quidditch figurine, and was staring out the clear glass patio door that had been added to go out into the back yard.
“What is it, James?” Harry asked. James blinked, and turned his silver eyes to his father.
“Why’s Nala wrestlin’ with th’ other red kitty?” he asked innocently. The adults, concerned, stood from the table. Sirius made it to the door first, being closer. The sight that greeted him was fairly burned into his retina.
Apparently Nala was in heat. And gryffix mating was extremely wild. Aslan was fighting to pin her underneath him while he was…proudly displayed as he tried to mount her. Her front legs shredded at the grass as she fought him, and her back legs were braced against the ground. He kept getting knocked at by her wings as they both seemed to try their hardest to make it as difficult as possible. Viatoris provided an answer for their behavior.
"Gryffixes have a greater chance of successful breeding if their body temperatures are up. The weather isn't very warm today, so I would expect them to try this several times. Don't worry too much, from what I've gathered from father it is quite enjoyable for both of them."
There was an eagle-like scream through the air as the male gryffix was triumphant in his quest.
“Good lord….” Sirius said as the two began their time-old dance in earnest. Grace cleared her throat, her face a bit red.
“I didn’t know Nala could bend that way…”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well. That was unexpected. Naw, i'm just kidding.....I've been plannign this for MONTHS! Lolololololol gryffix babies. Also regular babies....toddlers.......:/
Anyway, I hope you all leave me a little something something in that review box.
