A/N: So it’s been two months since I have updated the story. Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart for waiting for me! Now if I were you, before you read this chapter, I would go back and reread the story. I did some major editing and the story does not read the same way it did a few months ago. You may or may not like it—I don’t know. This editing session was more for me and my peace of mind and I understand if you are bothered by what you read.
Anyway, enough of me rambling. Enjoy the new chapter you have all waited such a long time for!
---
Tom Riddle aka ‘Voldemort’ put his down his quill, flexing his fingers, trying to get rid of the cramps.
His desk was full of rolled up parchment, waiting to be delivered when he ordered. He stared into the space in front of him for a few moments, a million things running through his mind all at once.
Tom had never once in his life thought he would do what he planned on doing that night. Hell, he didn’t think he would ever be back in his twenty year old body. He was close to eighty and most men would kill to be where he was. Sadly, he did kill to get where he was. And he was regretting every single death.
When Tom murdered in cold blood, he remembered the name and face of each victim. Part of the fun of murdering for him had been to hear of how the family members took the news of someone close to them dying.
Each of the parchments sitting on his desk was to the every family and person he had ever hurt in his life … and his desk was nearly breaking with the number of missives he had to send. The last missive he wrote that stood out from all the others was the letter to Harry Potter
Tom let out a sigh and called for his house elf.
“Is everything ready?” he asked it.
“Yes Master Tom, it is all prepared,” the house elf squeaked, staring at the ground.
Tom nodded and waved his hand in dismissal. He couldn’t believe he was going to do what he planned to do. He was only sorry that he didn’t get to talk to Ginevra one last time before he followed through with this plan.
As Tom stood to go toward the bathroom, a loud crack signaling apparition echoed in the room. A loud moan followed the thunder.
“Oh Merlin, make it stop please!”
Tom recognized the voice instantly. He went toward the shuddering form on the floor and kneeled down to make sure she was alright.
“Breath Ginevra … it’s almost done,” Tom said grabbing her hands to hold so she wouldn’t claw at her stomach any longer.
Ginny moaned and squeezed his hand to help get past the pain.
Finally, the contraction passed and all she could do was lie weakly on the floor.
“I don’t know how in Merlins name my mother managed to do this six times,” Ginny asked feebly.
Tom chuckled and helped her to her feet.
“Women are strong creatures Ginevra, especially you. How did you finally mange to get away from Sebastian Snape?”
Tom picked Ginny up and carried her to his bedroom.
“I grabbed his balls and took his wand,” Ginny said with a smug smile.
Tom smiled down at her and set her down on the bed.
“I had faith that you would get away if we couldn’t find a way to get you free,” Tom said running a finger down her cheek.
“I had no choice. Sebastian planned on killing me as soon as the twins were born,”
Ginny smiled gratefully at Tom when he propped her up on some fluffy pillows.
“I’ll take care of Sebastian. You rest and let the house elves help you through your labor,”
Tom stood to leave but Ginny felt another contraction hit her body. She grabbed Toms hand and let out anguished cries.
“Please … don … don’t leave me,” she said through little pants of pain.
Tom sat on the side of the bed and talked Ginny through her pain. When it was finally done, she let his hand go.
“Don’t leave me Tom. I can’t do this alone,”
Ginny’s eyes filled with tears for the first time in months and she was crying to Lord Voldemort of all people.
Whereas the old Voldemort would have probably killed her, the new Tom Riddle seemed to have more compassion. He snapped his fingers. A house elf appeared.
“Dinky, Ginevra is going through labor right now. It won’t be long before her babies are born. Bring some fresh clothing and our experienced midwife and be quick about it,”
The house elf blinked out of the room. Tom stayed with her, helping her through each pain until everything he asked for was acquired.
The midwife was a very old house elf with squinty eyes and a smile that made shudders go down one’s spine. With Tom’s help, they stripped Ginny out of her soiled school uniform and laid her back against the pillows again, naked.
Ginny didn’t care about her lack of clothing. The contractions were coming together closer and she only had a few minutes of relief before they came again. Tom stayed by her side the whole time, taking her physical and verbal abuse with a smile.
Finally, after five hours of labor, Ginny gave birth to a healthy baby girl and baby boy. Two elves were brought in to help with cleaning up the infants and holding them until the eldest elf finished healing Ginny’s body.
The Snape children were beautiful to Tom’s surprise (the Snape family wasn’t known for their looks).
The little girl had jet black hair, a long Snape like nose without the crookedness, and a wail that would send most people running for cover. The little boy was mellower. He had bright red hair, and a cute button nose. Of course as newborns, their heads were cone shaped and their faces a bright red color and blue eyes but Tom knew the beginnings of beautiful children when he saw them.
Tom watched in fascination as the midwife house elf taught an exhausted Ginny Weasley how to breast feed her babies. Memories from Tom’s stay at the orphanage flooded his head. Tom closed his eyes and pushed the memories away. That childhood is what drove him to be the evil man that he was. It was time to forgive the people who hurt him as a child and move forward.
When he opened his eyes again, the sight of Ginny staring down at her babies with love nearly made his heart burst with happiness for her. He almost destroyed this wonderful woman and her new family.
“Will you help me burp them Tom,” Ginny asked bringing Tom out of his musings.
Tom simply grabbed the little girl, amazed at how small and light she was. She was dozing after having her fill of milk and seemed quite content in his arms. Holding her made him remember that little babies didn’t judge. They saw beyond that hurt and pain inside a person and saw the good they had left in them.
Ginny watched Tom handling her little girl closely. She was gambling a lot, letting one of the evilest man in England handle her children but she was confident with her assessment of his behavior. He wasn’t Voldemort anymore. He was Tom Riddle, a man who no longer had evil at the forefront of his mind.
He held her daughter like she was a precious piece of china. A man who held a baby that way couldn’t be evil any longer.
“What are you going to name them?” Tom asked, cradling the baby after she was burped.
“Travis Severus and Samantha Ginevra—figured I’d follow pureblood tradition and have our names be their middle names,” Ginny said, beaming proudly at Tom.
Tom smiled back.
“They are lovely names. Your children are beautiful Ginevra. You should be proud,”
“Thanks Tom,” Ginny said blushing.
“As beautiful as they are and as excited as you are to have them, you should put them down and let them nap. You just gave birth and I know you’re exhausted. I promise, the house elves will bring them back when you’ve gotten enough rest,”
Ginny bit her bottom lip.
“What about Severus and Lucius and the rest of my family? I know they’ll really want to know I’m okay,”
“You’re health is more important Ginevra. You’ve just come back from a situation that has left you very weak according to the house elf who delivered your twins. You’ve lost a lot of hair and one of your teeth fell out in your struggle to survive. The last thing you need is to be overwhelmed with people asking if you’re okay a hundred times over. I’ll call for Severus when you’re ready,” Tom said.
Ginny looked down at her son and smiled, running a finger through his fine hair. To see her children sleeping peacefully in her arms made it all worth it to her. Her job as a mother just began but she was excited to get started. First thing first, she had to take a much needed shower and get some sleep.
“I suppose you’re right Tom,”
“I’m glad you see reason Ginevra,”
Tom snapped his fingers and had the house elves bring the babies to a room created for their comfort.
Tom ran his fingers through Ginny’s grimy hair and kissed her on the cheek.
“Thank you for everything you’ve done for me Ginevra—I love you,” Tom whispered.
He left the room before Ginny could say anything. Tom waited patiently in the spare room connected to his room for Ginny to shower (she was in there for at least an hour. He didn’t blame her—it looked as if she hadn’t had a decent shower in months) and fall asleep.
Tom gave detailed instructions to the house elves for the millionth time in three months. They simply nodded and told him they understood. He walked into the room where Ginny lay sleeping. He couldn’t resist leaning down and kissing her on the cheek. Ginny shifted a little before falling back into her deep sleep. Tom smiled and placed the envelope with his note to her on the night stand.
He walked into the bathroom and stopped to survey the scene. The large Olympic size bath was filled to the brim with bubbly water. A large glass of red wine sat on the edge where bath pillows resided for him to relax with.
Tom stripped off his clothing and slid into the tub. He grabbed the wine and took a tentative sip. It was sweet with a burst of flavors—just like he liked it. He snapped his fingers and was rewarded with the strains of Elgar Cello Concerto performed by the beautifully talented muggle cellists Jackie Du Pre. He leaned back and sighed. He was finally content—at peace with who he was.
---
Ginny was woken up tentatively by a house elf whose partner had both of her squealing twins in its arms.
“We is sorry to wake you Miss but babes is hungry,” it squeaked.
“How long was I sleeping?” Ginny asked over the crying babies.
“Four hours Miss,” Dinky squeaked.
Ginny rubbed her eyes, shaking her head to clear the sleep fog from her mind.
“Give’em here,” Ginny mumbled putting her arms out for her babies.
It took a few tries and some help from the house elves but both twins latched onto her nipples and sucked greedily.
Ginny smiled down at her babies, unable to believe she and Snape created something so beautiful together.
‘Speaking of Snape,’ Ginny thought, looking around the room for Tom. He was nowhere to be found.
“Dinky,” Ginny called.
The house elf that woke her appeared once more.
“Where’s Tom?”
The house elf looked away from Ginny and down to the ground.
“Miss is to read letter Master set on the nightstand first befores I says anything,” Dinky said.
Ginny furrowed her brow and looked over to the nightstand where the envelope sat. She sighed in irritation when she realized that her hands were full of hungry, squirming babies. She would have to wait until her twins were clean, burped and sleep before she could get a chance to read the letter.
Ginny focused her attention back on Dinky who continued to stare at the ground.
“Dinky, is it possible at all for Tom to help be with these twins? It’ll be really hard for me to care for them by myself,”
“Oh Miss don’ts you worrys about Master and Mistress Snape—we is taking care of them so you cans eats and reads Masters Toms letter,” Dinky exclaimed.
Ginny smiled at the enthusiasm that Dinky had for taking care of her babies.
She looked down at her children, almost unable to part with them but knowing that she had to get everything organized so she could spend as much time as she wanted with them.
“Alright Dinky, take these little ones off my hands for a few hours. Could you bring me something to eat?” Ginny asked.
“Of course Miss! Dock is preparing your food right now,” Dinky said grabbing both alert twins from Ginny’s breast.
Ginny covered her chest with her large, oversized shirt once again.
It only took a few more seconds after Dinky disappeared for Dock to appear with a large tray of food. Before Dock could even put the food down completely, Ginny dug in. She tried to make up for the months of bland broth and stale bread with a bunch of rich food laid out for her. She knew she would get sick from eating rich food so quickly but she didn’t care.
Finally, after almost licking the plate clean, Ginny leaned back into the pillows, letting out a sigh of contentment. Picked up Toms letter, wondering in her head where the hell he went to. It had to have been far for her to get a letter from him.
As Ginny began to read her face grew pale and the letter fell from her hands.
Grabbing Sebastian’s wand, she pointed to her Dark Mark and called Lucius and Snape.
---
Snape sat on the couch in his private rooms drinking a large glass of firewhiskey. He had been grading papers for his fifth year OWL class when he glanced at calendar at his desk and realized it was May 1st.
Ginny had been missing for a month and a half. The reality drove him to drink.
Snape’s floo system turned bright green and Lucius jumped out. He dusted off his robes and glanced at Snape. Without saying a word, he poured himself a generous amount of firewhiskey and sat down next to Snape.
For a long time, all the two men did was sip their drinks and immerse themselves in their thoughts.
“Do you think we’ll ever get her back?” Snape asked staring into the fire.
“I don’t know my friend—I can only hope that our determination and love will bring her back to us,”
Snape sighed and set his glass down. He put his fingers together, running through different ways of slowly murdering his brother.
“I wonder how the children are doing. Hopefully Sebastian hasn’t done anything to endanger them,” Lucius said.
“He won’t hurt the children. He’s sterile though my father doesn’t know it. He’ll probably try to prove to the old man that my children are his. He wouldn’t have to try hard on that point. My father believes him over me any day,” Snape said bitterly.
Lucius reached out and rubbed Snape’s thigh without thinking. It was obvious his lover had some father issues to work out. Lucius just hoped that Snape wouldn’t let what his father did to him affect how he bonds with his children.
At the same time, both men felt the intense burn from their dark marks in their skin. Lucius clutched Snape’s thigh while Snape dropped the glass of firewhiskey he held in his hand. It fell to the floor with a crash.
Both stood and quickly made their way outside of the school to see what their master wanted (Dumbledore applied the anti apparition rule on Snape once again after the kidnapping).
Once they were outside the gates of Hogwarts, they apparated to the Dark Lord’s lair.
A house elf was waiting for them when they arrived.
“Miss will see you now sirs,”
Lucius and Snape glanced at each other in confusion as the house elf turned, expecting the two men to follow.
“Miss? Don’t you mean Master Tom?” Snape asked.
The house elf looked over its shoulder.
“Tom Riddle is no longer Master of this home sirs. Mistress runs this home now,”
Confusion and dread pooled in both men’s stomachs. They ran after the quick retreating house elf. They shouted questions at the creature but seemed to gain more questions from its answers.
Finally the elf stopped in front of Tom Riddles large master bedroom. It opened the door. The next few questions died on the men’s lips when they spotted Ginny sitting in the bed, her arms wrapped around her legs.
She glanced up and locked eyes with them. For a long moment the room was silent, simply with the men staring, unable to believe that she was sitting there in front of them in the flesh. When they both realized at the same time that they weren’t dreaming, they ran toward Ginny at full speed.
Ginny only remembered two things from the reunion. One was the look on their faces when they saw her in the bed. The next was being engulfed in a sea of dark clothing and expensive cologne. She was being squeezed hard and almost couldn’t breathe.
As if sensing their over enthusiasm was killing their mate, both men let her up. Snape couldn’t resist running his fingers through her hair while Lucius touched her face.
“Thank merlin your still alive,” Snape murmured before pulling her to his body again.
“We thought you were gone for good,” Lucius murmured grabbing Ginny from Snape and hugging her tightly.
They both sandwiched her again, only this time they were gentler about it. Ginny sagged into their embrace, allowing the strong façade she put forth to disintegrate into nothing. She was tired of being strong. All she wanted was to lie down and have a good cry with the men she loved.
“When did you get here?” Lucius asked.
“Either this morning or this afternoon—I’m not sure,”
Ginny’s voice was muffled in Lucius’ robes. Snape rubbed her back, keeping his eyes open for the Dark Lord. It wasn’t like him not to make any appearance when he called one of his followers.
“How did you get away from Sebastian?” Snape asked focusing on Ginny once again.
“I did what any good Slytherin would do—I waited until he let his guard down. He underestimated me when he came to visit me because at the time, I was in labor. I took advantage of his stupidity and grabbed his balls hard before stealing his wand. I stunned him and apparated here because this was the only place I could think of coming to that wouldn’t have wards that would stop me from appearing,”
Both Lucius and Snape paused and touched her stomach at the same time. Her belly wasn’t flat but it wasn’t hard with the burden of the twins any longer. Still, she had weak magic pouring out of her stomach which confirmed the research that both men had been conducting about the Insumo potion properties. Ginny let out a giggle at the poking but didn’t tell them to stop.
“Where are they? Are they okay?” Snape asked.
“They’re fine—very healthy in fact. I just fed them about an hour ago so they may be napping,”
Snape’s almost forgot how to breathe. For months he waited for his children to be born and they were somewhere in the mansion, waiting for him to see them.
“Can we see them?” he asked.
Ginny snapped her fingers. Dinky appeared with the babies on its arms.
“Reading my mind are you Dinky? Thank you,” Ginny said giving the house elf a small smile.
“No problem Miss,” the elf said, handing the little girl to Snape and the little boy to Lucius.
“Lucius, Severus, meet Travis Severus and Samantha Ginevra,” Ginny said, watching the look of wonder pass over both men’s eyes.
Snape couldn’t believe the feelings that came crashing over his body at once—joy, love, tenderness, protectiveness, fear—having such a tiny little bundle in his arms and snuggling into his warmth made tears of joy spring into his eyes. His daughter and his son were two people he and Ginevra created together—and he loved them so much he could hardly breathe.
“They’re beautiful children Ginevra. You did a good job,” Lucius said, chuckling as Travis grabbed his thumb with his small fingers.
“Yes you did,” Snape said quietly, tears rolling down his cheek.
Ginny wiped them away, her own eyes burning with the need to cry.
After a few more moments of silence and cooing over the babies, Lucius suddenly realized something.
“Ginevra—where is the Dark Lord?”
A/N: I really encourage you to listen to the song that Voldie was listening to by Du Pre—its nothing short of amazing! Tell me what you think about the story now overall—better? Worse? Doesn’t really matter as long as I reach the end? I won’t know until you tell me in a review!
Much love,
