The Missing
35
Draco and Harry had not really spoken since landing in LAX, but Harry knew this wasn't the time to talk Draco down from his anger. Comebined with fear, anger is many times harder to control. Harry had to admit he too was worried, Tim had been like his little brother too and Draco had really made the effort to take Tim under his wing after his Dad died, but Draco wasn't mature enough in Harry's opinion to understand how to help a 13 year-old boy who had now lost two fathers. Harry only hoped they would find Tim soon and unhurt.
Draco was more angry at himself, he knew Tim was struggling with his feelings, but his future had overtaken all of his time. Harry had atleast made several trips back home to see the family. Draco fought off his guilt and fear. He had gotten the news that he had the job of Qaurterback for the preseason, but of course, he didn't even get the chance to tell anyone, not even Harry. He had atleast gotten the ok from the team to go home.
"The news on the number one pick is that he had the preseason QB job, but a family emergency has called him away for an unspecified period. Here's what the NFL network reporters got from a sunday pressconference by head coach, Mike Holmgren."
"We had a phone conversation where Drake had made it known that he had learned that his younger brother had gone missing. In light of this development, we will have to bring in a guy to play QB in his position until he can return to our team. He has been excused for a much time as he needs"
"Oh my, thank god you both came." Mrs. Malfoy said as she hugged both young men very hard. Draco's face spoke only bussiness, still fighting his anger and guilt, he got down to it. "Mother, did Tim leave a note, is there any indication as to why he left." She looked shocked, she wanted more consoling, Draco could tell, but leaving a young boy on the streets or wandering around didn't sit well with Draco, his eyes demanded that they get to work right away, with no offering of words she simpily motioned the two men to follow her. Liz was in the house, but they had not seen her. She was 16 now, Draco and her never got along well, she was best friends with Mom though, it started to become clear to observant Harry potter that Tim might be very lonely.
Tim's room was a typical young boy's room, sports posters, and video games, movies, a computer, some sports trophies and ribbons. On his bed was a note, 'I love you all very much, but I am so alone here, I don't have anyone, I am in the way, you'd be happier if I was gone Mom, I'm sorry you're so sad because Dad is gone, I hope you feel better.' It was the worst all three of these people felt. How could they all have not noticed the truth of what was happening. Harry looked around and found a journal, to see if that might help, he thumbed through the pages, trying to see if he could find a clue as to where Tim had decided to go.
He turned maybe five pages when he saw a page called 'The thinking spot.' The writting intrigued Harry, he found it similar to some of the lyrical pieces he had been working on in the studio recently. As he read he knew he had the right idea. He got Draco's attention. "This is where he's gone, I know it." Harry said it a tad forcefuly, everyone swarmed the open journal. "Mom, I'm taking your car. I'll go." Harry was still skimming the writtings on the pages and he was just astounded at what he was reading. "I'm coming too Draco." Harry never left room for objection and both men left for this spot, whatever it was.

Draco was running the feild in his shorts and Tennis shoes working on sliming down. "Hey Drake, Drake look at me!" He looked over and smiled at his Adopted brother, at six, he had finally accepted Draco as someone he wanted to be his brother. The little boy was an attention getter, liked the spot light. "What've you got there little buddy?" Draco called, nodding to the ball in the boy's hand. "I got a ball, I'm unna fro it" Draco chuckled, the ball was a 1/3 of the boy's body weight, he could barely lift it. The boy made good the ball didn't go more than a foot, but he gave it everything he had. Draco walked over and just cheered him on as he tried harder each time to throw the ball.

Draco's driving was making Harry's knuckles turn white. He didn't dare say anything yet, but he knew his time to intervene was very close. They approached the spot where the journal seemed to guide them. It was raining a little hard now and as they walked up a path Harry caught a glimpse of a dark figure sitting on some rocks in a clearing. "He's up there Drake, I see him, but you should stay back until I call you, we don't want to scare him...look, I know how upset you are, but this isn't the time. We need to be as calm as we can. Go get your Jacket sweetie, he may need it.
Quitely, Harry walked up behind Tim, the soft whimper of crying could be heard and Harry was even more cautious, unsure of how best to break the Silence. "Timothy?" He whispered softly. Tim acknowledged him with a upward glance and then returned to hugging his knees and sitting on his rock. Harry thought awhile, he wanted to be sure that Tim could talk about this, he was fragile right now, if he decided to run, Harry was afraid they might not find him again. "So, what are we doing out here?" He asked the boy softly kneeling next to the rock, and looking at the boy's eyes. "I don't know." Tim squeaked and a slight cough escaped him. Harry put his hand on Tim's shoulder, which was very cold and soaked. "Sure you do bud, what's wrong?" He watched as the boy's eyes seemed to open to who was actually was in front of him.
"I don't think anyone has time for me, I think I'm just in the way." Harry wanted to stop him, to tell him that he was wrong, but he knew to a kid, these were truths, and only Tim could convince himself they weren't true. "Why?" Harry asked hoping to illicit Tim's thought processes that had caused him to run away. "Well ummmm, Dad di..you know...and then you and Draco moved away and now, Mom she is so sad, but she only...talks to my sister and stuff." He shruged and his face screwed up like he was going to cry. Harry slowly moved to pull the boy into his arms gently, to not frighten him. "I'm sorry Tim, I didn't mean to let you feel forgotten." Harry was worried, he had seen Tim's face and indications were that he had been out in the rain for awhile, and he could feel the boy's fever throught his T-shirt.
He dialed his Cellphone quickly. "Drake, hurry with your jacket. We've got a very sick boy here." Just as Harry finished, Tim vomited on Harry's shirt. "I'm sorry." He said very weakily. Harry just adjusted himself to do a little clean up. "It's ok, I know you can't he...Thank God!" Draco had arrived just in time with his jacket, but realizing his brother was probably in no condition to walk the path safely he had Harry put the Jacket on him and then He picked the boy up in his arms and carried him to the car, concern on his features. "I'm Sorry Drake." He moaned as he was being carried down the path. "I want you to know one thing Timothy." He breathed out as he contuned to walk. "I will never ever let you runaway again, you are my bro, and I will always look out for you." Tim nodded weakily.
Harry was stunned, if there was one thing he knew about Draco, it was his difficulty working out his anger and fear, but the way he talked to Tim just told Harry that his lover had concluded the war within himself. All three boys got into the car, Harry was in the back with Tim incase he had to be sick, right now his head sat in Harry's lap, he was calming now, but obviously warn by his sickness.
"Harry, I've decided we're going to have him live with us." Harry was shocked and dumbfounded, he never imagined this course of action, part of him wanted to say no, he liked that they lived alone, it was much more romantic. "I'll talk to Mom in the morning, but I think it is best, please don't be upset." And with those last words, Harry found that he was unable to be angry and perhaps this was the best situation. Life was chaniging more in 7 months for them than it had when they first admitted they liked eachother. Harry just hoped things would finally settle down for once.

A/N So I am back, I still find I love this project, but I found it hard to get a direction.
As you all have seen I have posted a bit more frequently and hopefully things will start to pick up for everyone. I need lots of feedback and people's opinion just on how they think the story is progressing. The next chapter will have Draco's first Preseason game and also, Harry's Music carrer get's serious. I love you all, please review and enjoy. Is there enough sex? Should I worry about that?
