In a dark house, Peter Pettigrew watched as his mater raged. A few hours ago, he had collapsed and Peter watched as he weakened for no reason.
“Master, tell me what to do to help you. Who needs punished?”
“I’m not sure who needs to be punished Wormtail. Someone or many someone’s have destroyed my horcruxes! We need to ensure that Nagini is kept safe.”
Peter gave a bow and spread the word to the Deatheaters.
Friday had finally arrived. Narcissa was arriving later that day and the meeting about the final battle was happening that night. Harry was a nervous wreck. He knew that he was putting people, children, in great danger. He knew some of them were going to die. He didn’t like it. All day his mind wandered as he planned what he was going to say. The professors knew what was going on and left him alone to deal with his thoughts. It was just after lunch when Narcissa arrived.
“Lord Potter.” She said as she greeted Harry in the main hall.
“Lady Malfoy. Any news from your husband?” he asked as he showed her to her living quarters.
“Yes, plenty. Lucius has been quite busy these past few weeks. If you have a few minutes I will go over what has happened lately.”
“I have plenty of time. Please, continue.”
“Well, turns out Draco was right about Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw marrying Gryffindor and Slytherin. He has all the required documents processing now for you to claim their vaults and the rest of the school. Sirius had his court date last weekend and has been cleared. With the developments arising about Albus, they cleared him on the spot. Albus has his court date tomorrow. All of you missing funds and heirlooms have been found and returned to their vaults. All businesses you own have been keeping up to date with what they owe you and Miss Granger and all properties have been repaired, evaluated or sold per your wishes. Lucius has been working his connections and has been gathering those who no longer wish to follow you-know-who and they have been helping to fight against those who do follow him. I do believe that is everything. If I forgot something I’ll let you know.”
“Thank you, Lady Malfoy. Please let you husband know that once this war is over I will do what I can to remove the Mark from those who switched sides.”
“I will let him know. Now, where is Minerva? I need to speak to her about the lessons.”
“She is in her office waiting for you. I hope to see you at dinner.” Harry gave her a short bow and walked to Charms. His mind checking one worry off his list. Before he knew it, dinner had come and gone and he was standing in the Great Hall prepping himself for what was to come. He knew that the younger students were going to question the older students and he wanted to have answers to all their questions. He was going over potential questions when he felt arms wrap around him from behind and a chin rest on his shoulder.
“Stop worrying, you’ll get wrinkles.” Draco said with a chuckle in his ear.
“Very funny Dray.”
“Dray? Does this mean I get to pick a pet name out for you?” Draco asked before placing a light kiss on Harry’s neck.
“Sure, nothing cutesy though.” Harry replied as he leaned his head back onto Draco’s shoulder.
“We never did get to finish what we started earlier this week.” He said as he peppered Harry’s neck with kisses.
“And you won’t get to if you two don’t knock it off right now.” Both boys looked up and saw a, slightly, amused Narcissa watching them.
“Mother.”
“Draco. I know I taught both of you better than that.” Draco shrugged, gave Harry one last hug, and stepped back. He grabbed Harry’s hand and they watched as students filed into the hall. Harry was joined by the rest of his friends and they watched students sit. As more students filed in, Harry felt his nerves crank up. When the last student was seated, Harry let go of Draco’s hand and stepped forward.
“You all know why you are here. The final battle is drawing near and we all need to be ready for it. If things go as I fear, the battle will be here. Voldemort will see it as a great victory to win here. We cannot let him win! As of today, all students third year and under will be gradually sent to hiding places with their families. Those who are fourth years can choose to stay and fight or go be with their families. I ask that fifth through seventh years stay and protect the school and younger students who haven’t gotten out if that happens. Those who opt to stay will have special training Friday nights to learn every spell they can in preparations for the battle.”
“What about our families?” a student called out.
“They will be picked up and delivered to one of the safe houses we have set up if they wish to do so.”
“What if we don’t want to fight?” Pansy called out.
“Then you don’t have to. I understand that some of you must make a choice to either fight with me and go against you families, or find a way to hide from them. I will not force anyone to fight that doesn’t want to. I simply ask that those who do want to, will. Hermione will take down names of those who volunteer to help. Neville and Ginny will be working with the younger students to help them, their families, and any of the older student’s families, to safety. Draco and I will be leading the training with the help of our professors. Any other questions?” Harry spent the next hour answering questions while Hermione and Ginny took down the names for their lists. By the time they all retired, Harry’s worries were long gone. Almost every student between fifth and seventh year signed up to help fight. There were a few Slytherins who opted out because they didn’t want to fight their families. Harry went to bed feeling lighter than he had all week.
