Great gift

The first thing Harry felt when he awoke was that he was sore. His back ached and when he tried to move it got even worse. The second thing he registered were voices talking quietly around him. He tried to identify the voices to give them a face, but he found that he had difficulty concentrating while his back hurt him so much.
“He should have woken up by now, why isn´t he waking?” Harry heard one of the voices say. It sounded worried and as if the person speaking was in great pain as well.
“Don´t worry Severus. Everything went well, he will awake soon. Trust me.” Severus, Harry thought. The voice belongs to Severus.
He is here, with me, I have to tell him that I´m okay. Harry thought and concentrated hard on opening his eyes.
“Then why isn´t he awake? It´s been two days Poppy and he hasn´t moved at all.”
“Sometimes the body needs more time to heal from trauma. He will be fine. You really should go to get some sleep. You look awful and Harry wouldn´t want you to worry yourself sick.”
“How many times do I have to tell you. I´m not leaving his site until I know that he´s alright. So, you can stop trying to get rid of me because it´s not gonna happen.”
“Nobody wants to get rid of you Severus. We´re just worried about you. At least let me get you something to eat. You really need your strength.” Harry heard a third voice which he recognized as his best friends.
“If you must, but I am not leaving.” Severus said and Harry would have giggled if he weren´t hurting all over. He finally managed to open his eyes, but everything was a blurr and he couldn´t focus on anything. He saw two blurred figures standing a few feet from the bed but couldn´t make out who it was. He opened his mouth and tried to say something but all that left his mouth was a groan. As soon as it left his mouth the room went quiet, and Harry detected people moving around him.
“Harry?” He heard Poppy call his name. He groaned again.
“Oh, thank god!” He heard a relieved voice and felt someone take his hand.
“Harry how are you feeling.” He tried to answer and at his fourth try he managed to press out a single word.
“Hurt.”
“Okay Harry, Severus is going to help you sit up so we can give you a pain potion. It´s going to hurt but you will feel better soon.” Harry managed a weak nod and felt the bed shifting as Severus climbed behind him. He carefully pulled Harry from the mattress and held him up with his upper body. Harry winced as his back met the others chest and felt a glass vile pressing against his lips. He opened his mouth and swallowed the potion slowly. He felt better almost instantly and sighed in relief when the pain lessened considerably.
“I can´t see anything.”
“I´m sorry love, we had to take out your contacts while you were out. I have your glasses here.” Severus said and gently put them on him. When Harry finally saw clearly, he was met with many relieved smiles.
“What happened?” He asked trying to remember why he was woken in such pain.
“You were accidently hit by a slashing spell. The wounds were deep, and Poppy worked on you for hours before you were finally stable. I was so worried about you.” Severus told him while he closed his arms around him. Harry took in the room and saw Hermione looking at him. Tears run down her face, so he reached out with his arm and Hermione quickly came to the bed and took his hand.
“I´m so glad that your okay.” She said trying to smile.
“Yeah, me too. Where is Ron?” He asked searching the room again. He felt Severus stiffen behind him and Hermione´s face changed into an angry mask.
“What?” Harry asked.
“We sent him home, but I´m sure he will be here soon. You were out for two days, and he checked in twice a day to see if you woke.”
“Why are you so angry?” Harry asked.
“Don´t you remember what happened?”
“I remember yelling but nothing else.”
“He told Molly about the babies and she didn´t take it well, as we expected. She wanted to hex Severus, but you stepped in the way and got hit instead.”
“Are they…”
“Yes love, their fine. Don´t worry no harm done.”
“Thank god.” Harry sighed and relaxed back into Severus.
“Why did he do it? He knew I didn´t want to tell her.”
“He thought that Molly needed good news. Please don´t be too mad. He just wanted to help his mum, and he was horrified by what happened.”
“Well, he should be.” Severus said angrily.
“I know, but he feels bad enough already. He just needs to start using his head before he speaks. It wasn´t malicious, just thoughtless.”
“Does it really matter? It happened; we can´t change it now. It won´t make things better if we hold on to anger. Besides he´s not in his right mind either.” Harry said thinking about his friend.
“That may be but because of him you were unconscious for two days.”
“Not really, you said that Molly was the one who cast the spell.”
“Because he couldn´t keep his mouth shut.” Severus said angrily and Harry shook his head. His lover wouldn´t be easy to placate.
“Can you give us a minute?” He asked the others and after they left, he turned his head to look at Severus.
“Just don´t.”
“Don´t what?”
“Don´t ask me to forgive and forget.”
“I won´t ask you to forget, but I need you to forgive him. Don´t get me wrong, he was completely out of line, but I need him. He´s my best friend and I need you two to get along.”
“But…”
“Please, for me?” Harry asked desperately.
“That´s not fair! You know I do anything for you.”
“That´s the point.” Harry said with a soft smile which turned into a huge grin when Sev sighed in defeat.
“Fine, but I expect an apology and it better be a good one. I had to endure listening to accusations and insults left and right. I don´t take good to people accusing me of hexing or poisoning you.”
“I´m so sorry.”
“It´s not your fault.”
“I know but still. You are a good man and you didn´t deserve to be treated so badly.” Severus pulled him closer, and they just lay there together for a while.
“I thought I was going to lose you.” Severus said after some time.
“You didn´t.”
“I know but I was terrified. The thought of living on without you was too much to bear. I even made plans in case you don´t make it.”
“What kind of plans?”
“I planned to tell the dark lord that I´m a spy.”
“Are you kidding? He would have killed you!”
“Exactly.” Harry stared at him. Suddenly his face became a mask of anger.
“Don´t you dare considering something like that ever again.” He yelled and shook his head trying to forget the images that popped up in his head.
“Harry,”
“No, I don´t want to hear it. Promise me, what ever happens during this war, you will keep going. You can´t just… I won´t let you!” Harry was in full panic mode by now. Tears were streaming down his face and his body shook violently. Severus was berating himself quietly. He didn´t mean to upset Harry so badly so he quickly pulled him closer and kissed him deeply. Harry tried to fight him at first but Severus just tightened his grip on him and carefully shifted his weight so he could trap Harry beneath him. After a few minutes Harry calmed down a little and Severus pulled back just a few inches. He looked into his lovers’ eyes and held his gaze for a few seconds.
“I´m sorry.” He whispered.
“Promise me?” Harry asked.
“I promise. What ever happens.” Harry let out a shattered breath and pulled him back down into a kiss. When they pulled apart Harry pushed Severus back into a lying position and snuggled into his site.
“Why did I hurt so much when I was out for so long? Shouldn´t I be healed up by now?”
“Normally yes, but there were some problems. We don´t know why but the wounds just didn´t close. We tried everything in the book but all we managed was to heal it somewhat. You will have to be very careful the next few weeks. Otherwise, it could start bleeding again. You probably shouldn´t leave the bed for a few more days.”
“Yeah right, that´s going to happen.” Harry said sarcastically and Severus sighed.
“I didn´t think so. Well, you will be bandaged up pretty heavily and you will have to wear a kind of vest with protective gear under your normal clothing.”
“That’s fine as long as I can at least walk around a bit. Can we put it on right now? I´m hungry and I need to use the toilet.”
“I will call Poppy and we will get on with it. After we should have something to eat.” At Severus words Harry´s stomach started growling. Harry laughed.
“I think that´s a good idea.” He said and Severus left to fetch Poppy. Harry slowly tried to sit up, but his head was spinning. He sank back down into the pillows and waited for Severus to return.
After Harry was ready to go, Severus supported him to the bathroom and helped him freshen up. He carefully washed his hair while Harry brushed his teeth, sitting in front of the sink. He relieved himself and Severus helped him into a lose fitting button down shirt and his pants. They slowly walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. Sev never let go of him in fear that he might lose his footing and fall. Remus, Hermione Draco and Narcissa already sat at the kitchen table having lunch. Hermione rolled her eyes when he saw Harry already up and walking again but couldn´t hide the little smile that crept on her lips. Like it or not, that was Harry. Always pushing himself through his limits even when he really shouldn´t.
“Harry, it´s good to see your feeling better.” Draco said and smiled at him.
“Thanks, I´m glad to be awake again. I´m starving. What´s for lunch?”
“We only had a salad because we had a big breakfast, but you really should eat something more nutritional. Let me call Dobby so he can make you something.” Harry nodded and slowly sat down. Dobby was only too happy to bring Harry all kinds of foot, so much so that all of them had enough for at least two days.
“Dobby is glad that Harry Potter is okay. Dobby was really scared for Harry Potter.”
“I´m fine Dobby I promise.” Harry told his little friend before he disappeared again.
Ron swung by that afternoon and Harry could see the relieved look on his face when he walked in and saw Harry sitting on the couch. He apologized profusely and Harry could see just how sorry his friend really was.
“I´m not the one you should be worried about. Sev is the one who is really mad still.”
“I am really sorry Severus. I didn´t mean for Harry to get hurt. I really didn´t. And I wasn´t expecting mums’ reaction at all. I will make it up to you I promise.”
“Your apology is accepted, but you better never pull something like that again. I will not forgive a second time.”
“I won´t.”
“Good, I will go to the lab. I have to stock up a few potions that need replacing. I will see you later Harry.” Severus leaned down and pressed a kiss against his forehead before he walked out.
“How are you feeling?” Ron asked after he took the seat next to Harry.
“I woke up in a lot of pain. I didn´t heal up right so I will have to take pain potions for a while.”
“I´m so sorry.”
“Why´d you do it? I mean I get that you wanted to help your mum, but I told you that we shouldn´t. And Ginny warned you as well? How did you think this would be a good idea?”
“I honestly didn´t expect her to blow up on Severus I swear. I didn´t even think about it to be honest. I thought she would be so focussed on you and the baby that it wouldn´t matter who the other father is.”
“He was so hurt by the things she said. And not only him. Remus almost attacked your mum. Can you imagine how he must be feeling? He lost it Ron, in a room full of people. It´s a miracle that no one got hurt.”
“I know, I don´t know what I was thinking.”
“Just don´t do something like that again. This could have ended very badly.”
“Like I told Severus, I won´t. Promise!”
“Good, now tell me what´s going on at home? How is everybody holding up?”
“Well, the only person speaking to me right now is mum, everyone else is to pissed at me. They don´t really talk to her either.”
“That´s not good. You need each other right now. With everything that happened you need to stick together.”
“It will get better when you come back home. When everybody sees that you’re alright it will die down eventually.”
“Ron…”
“What?”
“I won’t come back with you. At least not right away. I will stay here for a little while. Don´t get me wrong. I´m not mad I just need a little time to myself. Besides, I don´t now how mum would react if Severus were to come see me. I think it´s for the best for now.”
“You really won´t go back.”
“Not now, you can come see me whenever you want though, or you could stay here as well if you want.”
“No, I should be with the family right now. Will you be okay here? You lost him too you know, you should have someone to talk to.”
“I have, Remus is here, and Severus will come see me every day. I don´t know what´s Hermione´s deal. She didn´t say if she will stay or go with you but either way, I won´t be alone. I bet Ginny will come by often to see Draco and Narcissa can help taking care of the injuries. I will be okay.” Ron nodded and they were quiet for a while.
“Mum asked if she could come see you. Severus wouldn´t let her near you but now that you´re awake she would love to talk to you.”
“Sure, just tell her to flu first so I know that she´s coming. How´s she doing?”
“Not good. She feels terribly guilty, and she cried for a long time. I don´t think she slept since it happened.”
“Sent her over today then. She needs her strength and I´m fine. She can stop worrying herself so much.”
“Thanks mate.”
“Could you help me up? I think Hermione is in the kitchen. She started on Draco´s potion books and it´s hard to get her to do anything else but reading.” Ron helped him to the kitchen where they found Hermione sitting at the table completely lost in her book. She only noticed that they joint her after Ron called her by name. She looked up and smiled guiltily.
“When did you get here?” She asked.
“Almost an hour ago.”
“You guys made up?”
“Yeah… what´s done is done.”
“And Severus?”
“Forgave me but I think he will be mad for a little while longer.” Ron said hanging his head.
“Rightfully so, but he will get over it Ron, if not for you then for Harry.” Hermione told him with a stern look.
“I hope so.”
“Don´t worry, he hasn´t forgotten that you forgave all the stuff he did before.” They sat together until dinner time and were then joined by the others. Ron excused himself and told them that he would go home to get his mum. Harry smiled at Remus and looked at the empty seat beside him which the werewolf took happily.
“You know that you could have told me don´t you?”
“I wasn´t sure. You and Severus always were at least civil to each other, but I know that you don´t like him very much.”
“I admit I didn´t but a lot happened since then. I started seeing him in another light the night Peter got away. He stepped between me, and you and your friends do you remember? He hated your guts, but he still risked getting killed or worse infected. I knew then that he´s a good guy. Just let me ask one thing. Are you happy? Does he treat you well?” Harry laughed.
“Yes, to both. He makes me very happy, and he is so good to me. Let me tell you how everything happened.”
“I will, but maybe wait until Molly´s here? I think it can only be good for her to hear just how everything happened.” Harry nodded and they ate in silence until the door opened and Ron and his mum came in. As soon as Molly sat her eyes on Harry she started sobbing and rushed over to give him a hug. Harry flinched in pain at the to tight grip she had on him, and she let him go immediately. After she apologized over and over again, and Harry assured her that he would be fine she took the seat on Harry´s another site and Harry started to tell them just how Severus and he came to be. He laid everything on the table. How much help and support Severus gave him, everything he did for him and the DA and how he fell in love with his most hated professor. When he finished, he spotted said man standing in the doorway looking at him lovingly. He gave him a smile and held out his hand to call him over. Severus hurried to his side and Remus made room for him. After he sat down Harry quickly moved closer and Severus hand automatically found his way onto Harry´s stomach.
“I am very sorry Severus.” Molly said.
“I wasn´t in my right mind. I didn´t know the whole story. I am really very sorry I accused you of all those horrible things.”
“I don´t blame you Molly, this wasn´t the way we wanted you to find out. Harry meant to tell you, but then Arthur…” He saw the painful look on her face and quickly changed course.
“Things happened and he just didn´t think it was the right time.”
“This is no excuse. I send a dangerous spell your way and hit my poor boy instead. I was so afraid he wouldn´t make it or worse he would but the baby wouldn´t. I couldn´t have lived with myself.”
“It doesn´t matter anymore, we are fine.” Harry said.
“Yes, you are.” Severus said and kissed his hand.
“So, you’re doing this. You are going to have a baby.”
“Yes, we are but you should probably know that it´s babies. Ron told you before, but I think it slipped by because the situation went out of hand so quickly.”
“Your having twins?” Molly asked with tears in her eyes.
“Yes, we are.” Harry said with a smile.
“That´s so great Harry, Severus I am happy for the both of you. Do you know if it´s boy or girl? Or two boys? Two girls?”
“Severus knows the gender. Poppy tested for it a while ago but back then we still thought it´s only one baby. So, it´s definitely two of one. But I want to be surprised. Although after everything that happened, I had enough surprises so maybe I´ll change my mind before I have them.”
“Okay… what do you want them to be?” Molly asked. Severus and Harry looked at each other.
“I don´t really know. I haven´t thought about it. I think it would be nice to have both someday, but I think I would like to have two little girls. I always had the feeling I get them better than boys, but I don´t think I will care we will love them the same.”
“I agree, it doesn´t matter.” Severus said smiling.
“But enough of the small talk. We have to get back to business. I am a little worried. I haven´t had a vision in a long time. I don´t understand. They came regularly because he could never get his temper under control, but now, nothing.”
“He is a little off. I had no idea that he sent someone to the burrow. He only calls every few weeks instead of every weekend.”
“So, we have no idea what he´s up too. That worries me a lot.”
“Maybe I need to give him something bigger. If I increase his trust in me, maybe he will fill me in on whatever he´s planning.”
“You already gave him lots of information the last few times he called you. I can´t hand everything to him. He already knows that I am Lord Black, he knows that I don´t trust Dumbledore he knows of my funds and if the meeting with the minister goes well it will be rather obvious that I aligned myself with the ministry. That is more information than he gathered in years. I don´t know what else I can give you that won´t lower my chances of beating him.”
“We will figure something out. We always do.”
“There is another thing, should I have a vision whilst I´m pregnant, what harm will the cruciatus do to them?”
“I´m afraid there is no way of knowing for sure. Your connection is unique, one that we haven´t seen before so we can only make assumptions. I don´t think it will harm them since the connection is to you and you only, but I can only guess.”
“Is there anything I should do as precaution.”
“Always have a mild pain potion and the anti crutiatus potion on you and take them quickly after the vision that’s the only thing I got. Otherwise just pray that the connection stays close.”
“Do you think something is happening to him? That they don´t come as frequently because he somehow stopped feeling anything at all?”
“That is a scary thought but maybe…”
“What are you two talking about?” Molly asked concerned so Severus explained the connection without mentioning the horcruxes. Harry had decided that only, Severus, Ron and Hermione and maybe Remus should know that part. They sat together until late in the evening and Harry asked Ron to bring Dudley over the next day. He felt guilty for leaving him with people he hardly knew and told Kreacher to prepare a room for him. He was thrilled that Severus decided to stay the night before his return to school the next day and was only too happy to let him help to get back to bed. He took another pain potion so he wouldn´t wake in the middle of the night and sighed when he eased down into the soft pillow. He decided to keep the protective vest on for the night so he could move without fearing to start the bleeding again. Severus joint him and they looked at each other for a little while.
“Are you happy?” Harry asked suddenly.
“About?” Sev asked.
“The babies, you haven´t said anything since I woke up, so I was just wondering. Are you okay with this?” That question had plagued Harry all day and he was anxious to find out just were his lover´s head was at regarding these lifechanging news.
“It certainly came as a shock since we didn´t know that it is possible but in retrospect we should have seen that there is at least a possibility. You are the most powerful wizard alive, of course you would be able to do what hasn´t been done before. I am overwhelmed more then anything but yes, I am happy. It wouldn´t matter if there were ten kids inside you or if we would have none at all. The only thing that matters is that we are in it together. Don´t you agree?”
“I do but Hermione and Draco both said things that got me thinking. Draco said that you never talked about wanting to have kids and Hermione asked if we ever talked about it, so I started wondering. Before you found out that you would be a father, did you ever think about stuff like that.”
“For most of my life I didn´t even consider it but that was because I thought no one would ever want me to father their child. I never was IN love with someone either so the question didn´t present itself, but… after I realized I wanted to be with you, and we got together I couldn´t help myself but hoping that one day we might have a kid. I just didn´t expect to get there so quickly and two at ones. I want this, Harry; it will be hard there is no doubt, but I want to be your family.” Severus said and stroked his cheek with his thumb.
“Sounds strange, being a family, but I like it.”
“I like it too.” Sev said and leaned in to kiss him. Harry sighed tucked on his shirt to pull him closer.

For Harry, this year’s Christmas was the best in his life. He woke to an empty bed but next to the bed he found a tabled with a cup of hot chocolate and a plate of chocolate chip pancakes which were his favourite. He also found a note from Severus telling him that he would be back for the Christmas party that noon and a promise that he would bring a great present with him. He took his time to enjoy breakfast in bed and called Narcissa to inform her that he would be taking a bath and would need help after with the new bandages. He left the old ones in place as he washed his hair to not soften the crust that had build over his injuries and after he enjoyed the hot water for a while he got up and ready for the day. He had a few gifts that needed to be wrapped up before the others arrived so that was first on his agender. He especially hoped that Severus would like his present. He had designed two little baby bodies which said Daddy´s little potion master and although it wasn´t extravagant thought that he would love it. He got Mrs. Weasley a gold necklace which read grandma on it and a few other baby related presents for the rest of the Weasleys. He had asked Draco to brew large badges of all kinds of medical potions which they filled up in little vials and packed a shrinkable first aid kid for every single member of the DA. He had six Hogwarts elves that were presently decorating the house beautifully while Kreacher, Dobby and Lomi were working in the kitchen to prepare a feast for him and his guests. Harry was excited to see everyone and to just have one day where they could relax and just spend time in each other’s company. He thought they all could use a break, even if it only was for a few hours. He decided to dress nicely so he picked his best jeans and a dark green sweater that hang just a little loosely so it could fit over his still thickly bandaged upper body.
When he was dressed, he went back downstairs and saw Hermione waiting near the door, talking to Victor who had just arrived. He was the first and Harry went over to welcome him. He took his cloak and after telling Hermione that she looked very pretty he led them into the kitchen to get some drinks.
“It´s really nice that you made it Victor. It´s great to see you. Hey, Mione maybe tonight is the night that you tell him that you´re going to play for the cannons. I really do want to see his face when he finds out. It will be hilarious.”
“Yes, lets tell him tonight it will be fun. I bet he will just stand there and stare at you before he starts stuttering and babbling like a fool. A little pay back for the other day.” Harry laughed and Hermione told Victor what had happened last week. Slowly the other guest started arriving and Harry was busy with welcoming everyone. He was glad when Hermione offered to take the next few because he was getting tired quickly. Although he was up for a week now, he had spent most of his time sitting or lying down. He hadn´t spent much time walking around and when he did it always were just short distances. He took a seat in the living room but he wasn´t sitting alone for long. Almost as soon as he sat down, Tonks came out of the kitchen and took a seat across from him. After a few minutes everyone had gathered together and all the people who were arriving just joint them and the conversations.
Severus was the last to arrive and when Harry saw what or rather who he brought with him he almost jumped up from his seat. Rubeus Hagrid was standing right in front of them. Harry hadn´t seen him since the end of fourth year. All they were told was that he was on a mission for the order and after he left no one had heard from him again. Ron and Hermione were on their feet within seconds and ran to their old friend. Hermione was crying happy tears and Ron gave him a big hug that was returned three times in force. Harry slowly stood up and made his way over.
“Harry.” Hagrid said after releasing Ron who rubbed his rips a little.
“Hagrid. It´s so good to see you. We thought we lost you.” Harry said and Hagrid embraced him carefully.
“How are ya doin? Severus here told me what happened. Are you alright?”
“Yes, I´m fine. I would ask you where you were all this time, but we are in the middle of a celebration. Let´s have a long talk after, we really missed you.”
“I don´t plan on going anywhere.”
“Good!” Harry said with a huge smile.
“Everybody, let´s eat!” He turned around and looked at Severus.
“I don´t know how you did it and I don´t really care but thank you.”
“That’s not my present Harry. I ran into him when I left Hogwarts. He was just there. I asked him if he wanted to come see you and I told him a little bit of what is going on, but I thought you should explain the details to him later.”
“Did he tell you where he was all this time.”
“No, he didn´t but he did say that he failed the mission and that Albus actually fired him. He only has a few days before he has to leave the grounds.”
“He can´t do that. He hasn´t the authority to kick him out.”
“Yes, but he doesn´t know that and we can´t do anything about it just yet. He can stay here, or you can give him another house if he wants to live alone. That´s how you help him right now. I´m sorry love, but that´s how it is.”
“I hate this. How can he just fire him after everything he´s done for the old man?”
“I don´t know but let´s not think about this now. You have people over who need to be entertained. We will learn what happened later.”
“Right, wait if Hagrid´s not the present than what is?” Severus only shook his head and smiled.
“Not yet, I will give it to you later.”
“Oh, come on Sev, it´s Christmas.”
“No, no chance, I will not spoil the surprise.” Harry pouted but it turned into a laugh when Severus quickly swooped down to steal a kiss.
“Come on, let´s not make the others wait any longer.” Harry agreed and they went to sit down at one of the tables that were set up for dinner. Before the meal was served though he stood up ones again to address his audience.
“Thank you all for coming. When I look around, I see friends, family, old enemies and creatures from different species who all came together to fight for what is right. We are currently 237 people strong, and we have people from all different places, and I am proud of the progress we all made in such a short amount of time. But today we are not here to be sad about the past or to worry about the future. Today, I want to celebrate the here and now. The people in this room and the hopefully lifelong bonds and friendships that we formed with each other. Please eat as much as you can, we have enough to feed an army thrice this size. Bon Appetit!” He said and Dobby and Kreacher served the food.
As far as Harry could tell everybody had a great time that day. They played games, exchanged presents and some people even sang a few Christmas songs which got louder and louder as people drank more and let loose a little. Everybody laughed at Ron´s face when Krum announced that he was the new seeker for the Chudley canons and Oliver Wood received a long round of applause when Victor also announced that he had made the team as keeper. Harry made it a point to sit down with everyone to talk for a little while. He told every single person just how grateful they were for their support and personally handed out the first aid kids to the members. He thought it especially interesting to talk to the three goblins Bill had brought with him and was disappointed that they hadn´t the time to get into politics that evening. He did make an appointment to meet again though, so he had one thing to look forward to.
“You honour us with your trust in us and we will not disappoint you.” Harry said after he stood up to talk to the next person.
“See that you don´t Harry Potter. Wizards and goblins were at war for a long time, and we still have many disagreements with your kind. We think you are the person who can change all of that. It would be nice to live in a world were every life is treated equally.”
“I couldn´t agree more. If you would please excuse me, I look forward to our meeting.” The goblins nodded and Harry left.

Harry had only planned for the party to go for like two hours. It was pretty late when the last guests left. He was tired and decided to do the clean up the next day. Narcissa and Draco had excused themselves and had gone to bed. He had showed Hagrid to one of the free rooms which he accepted happily. They had decided to talk the next day since it was rather later, and Hagrid desperately needed a good night’s rest. Hermione and Victor had left with the Weasleys, and Remus just left for bed as well. Severus, Harry and Dudley were the only ones that were still sitting in the living room. Harry looked at his cousin before he stood up to get a present from under the Christmas tree.
“I got you something.” He told him and gave him the package.
“Why?”
“It´s Christmas.”
“Yeah, but… I didn´t know we would do presents. We never did before so I didn´t get you anything.”
“You didn´t have to. I have everything that I need. You on the other hand only possess the bear minimum so I thought it would be nice to get you something.”
“Aehm… thanks.” Dudley said and opened the present. Harry had bought him a few new cloths, he had given him a gift certificate for the book shop and a few things like, a new watch, a raiser and a few other hygiene supplies.
“Thank you, their great.” Dudley said with a smile as he looked at the shoes that Harry bought him.
“Can I get potion books with that certificate?”
“No, they are for a muggle bookstore, but Severus has many, many book about potions. I bet he won´t mind letting you read them.”
“Of course, just tell me which book you will take before you take it so that I won´t look for it.”
“I will, thanks.” Dudley said and yawned before he stood up to go to sleep.
“Merry Christmas.” He said before walking up the stairs and left them alone.”
“Is it time for my present now?” Harry asked.
“If you want.”
“Actually, I want you to unpack yours first.” Harry said and tried to stand up, but Severus held him down and got up instead.
“Which one is it?” He asked when he looked under the Christmas tree.
“The dark red one.” Harry said laughing.
“You remembered.”
“Oh, come on. Of course, I did, I will never forget anything that happened that night.” He said smiling and Severus chuckled. He came back with his present and sat down next to him. He carefully opened the wrapping paper and pulled out the two tiny baby bodies. The smile that crept on his face when he read it melted Harry´s heart, it was so sweet, so full of love.
“You like it?”
“I love it. Just think in less than seven month we will have two babies so tiny that they will fit in here.”
“I know, it´s crazy. That a human can be so small. My turn.” He said with a smile. Severus nodded and stood up again. He pulled Harry with him and let him to a big present that was overed up with a blanket.
“I´m afraid wrapping it would have been too hard but there it is.” Harry took a step forward and pulled the blanket down. Hidden under it was a handcrafted, wooden bassinet. It was big enough two fit two kids comfortably and long flowy curtains fell down its sites.
“It´s so beautiful.” Harry said before he turned around. What he saw then almost took his breath away. Severus was on the ground, kneeling on one knee and held a little box in his hands looking up at him. Harry saw a ring sitting on the silk inside the box and he could see something graved into the inside of the ring.
“Severus what are…”
“Just listen.” He waited until Harry nodded before he went on.
“I love you Harry Potter. You came in my life, and somehow, you always affected me. Since that first day, seven years ago when we saw each other for the first time in the great hall. When you looked at me something happened inside me. Something I couldn´t shake. Of course, back then I mistook it for something else, but I think I know now that it was a strange kind of love. Not the kind of love we share now of course, you were a child then, but love non the less. I had this urge to protect you, to look after you and make sure that nothing horrible happens to you. Now, that urge has become a thousand times stronger. I always want to be around you, I want to look at you, to hold your hand and to hear your voice. I want to be the one you turn to when you feel there is no one else and I want you to be just that for me. I want to spend the rest of my life to try to make you forget all the bad in the world and I will do anything so that we can live a happy, peaceful life. I want you to marry me. Will you?” Tears were streaming down Harry´s cheeks. His heart jumped with happiness, and he quickly nodded his head.
“Yes.” He whispered and watched as a big smile crept onto Severus´s face.
“Yes?” He asked.
“Yes! Of course, I want to marry you Sev! Yes! Yes!! YES!!!” He shouted and Severus took his hand to place the beautiful silver ring on his finger. Harry sank down onto his knees and they shared a long deep kiss. They breathed heavily when they pulled apart and they rested their foreheads against each other.
“So, forever heh?” Harry asked looking at him lovingly.
“Oh, it already was this just makes it official.” Severus said and kissed him again.
Forever, he thought.
Yes, that sounds quite nicely.
