“Why didn't Albus tell any of us this?” Severus snarled as he paced back and forth in front of the fireplace in Lucius' study. Harry had just filled them in on the Dark Lord's real name and blood status. “At least those in the Order. It makes no sense.” Stopping, he huffed then turned to look at Lucius.
Sitting in his chair, head in his hands, Lucius shook his head. “We all thought he was a Pureblood. He put on every air that showed he was.” Looking up, he sighed then said, “Somehow, this isn't surprising. Anyone that has that much hatred against two classes has to see something in themselves that they can't stand to focus on it the way he has.”
Huffing, Severus slumped then agreed, “Very true. It does no good to focus on that at the moment. There may come a point that we can use the knowledge, but it's useless right now. And we can't go back and change it.”
“I am most curious as to why Albus wouldn't let everyone know, as you said. It could only help many matters,” Lucius sighed, looking at Severus.
“I just don't know. This makes no sense. It could have helped plenty,” Severus admitted, flopping down in the chair.
“Want to bet it relates to me and the Horcrux,” Harry said, looking between the two as he stroked Kaliya's head. “I mean, after all, if someone knew something could help or set this on fire faster, it might have put a crimp in his plans and what he wanted to do.”
Looking at Harry, Lucius then glanced at Severus, who was peering back at him before he sighed and nodded. “I bet that's it. The whole reason. There was no viable excuse for this information not to come out. My father may have known his name, but he never passed it on. Anyone from that generation didn't either. Which means, that none of us knew. Albus did, obviously. And I'll bet my wand he did it on purpose.”
“Let me ask this,” Severus started, looking at Harry. When the young wizard looked at him, he continued, “Why didn't you say anything to anyone?”
“I thought everyone knew,” Harry told him honestly with a shrug, glancing between the two. “I mean, I wasn't privy to what he was doing with so much of this. With that plaque in the school, Hagrid and all the rest, I thought all of you, at least those in the Order, knew. In fact, I was fairly surprised that Sirius and Remus didn't. If I knew the name, though that came about a different way, I figured it was common knowledge.”
“It isn't,” Lucius told him dourly. “I'm certain that this is the first time I ever heard it.”
“The Dark Lord wouldn't have wanted it out there, of course, especially since he's not a Pureblood. That could end up traced, easily,” Severus sighed, leaning back and crossing his arms over his chest.
“We can use it now, though,” Lucius said, pressing on, not wanting to dwell too much on how so many of them had been sucked in by something inaccurate. It would come, he knew that, but it also shored up his choice to get the hell out as being the right one.
“How?” We can't go out and do anything to use this. You might have plenty of books on genealogy, but if he's a Muggle-born or Half-blood, we can't do too much in tracing his linage.” Severus pointed out.
“I have a question,” seeing the two look at him and nod, he pressed on. “The Parseltongue bit. I know that it's supposed to come from a family line. My case was different. Couldn't that trace back?” That was something he thought might help. The only reason he thought about it was after the Horcrux removal he was no longer a Parselmouth. He had to relearn that through the bond. It didn't take nearly as long as it did for Severus and Lucius because he had the trait for so long, but it was odd to do.
“We could,” Lucius said firmly, straightening up. “The only family line in Britain that had that trait was Slytherin. I have plenty of genealogy on that line. We can see what we can find as the line died out. At least we think it did. It may at least give us a hint or a place to start digging.”
Nodding firmly, Severus agreed then suggested, “I'm also going to say pass that tidbit along to Black. If you can't find it, I bet he can.”
“Excellent suggestion!” Lucius agreed, not having thought of that. Looking at Harry, he said, “Do that when you talk to him next. He has plenty he can work with to look such matters up. And he may be able to find something I can't on the matter.”
Mulling it over for a minute, Severus then began to smirk evilly. The more he thought about the idea, the more he liked it. “I may have something that can only help this mess and will save a ton of effort on all our parts.”
Knowing Severus came up with nigglings that were usually good, Lucius was intrigued. “What's that?”
“The reporter you sent Black and Lupin to?” Seeing the man nod, he pressed on, “Send this to them as well. It will set the Dark Lord off in a way that nothing has before. I'm sure that if they run with it and do trace him, then do a story about it, he will go off the deep end in a way that he hasn't before. In fact, it will make the first war look like a walk in the park. He won't like that information out there. Not to mention it's going to cause serious dissension in the ranks as all those Purebloods won't like being told they aren't following one of their own.”
Liking that idea, Lucius smirked. “Oh, I bet we can manage easily.” Sobering up and thinking of the consequences of doing that, he added, tone distracted, “However, we need to ponder how bad this will turn out if we partake in such a scheme. The level of outrage and ire he will show will be beyond what we've seen, ever. Not to mention how violent and unhinged he may become. We need to consider the outcome of that before we pass it along.”
“From what you both said, it's coming anyway. Especially if he breaks that lot out of Azkaban. They aren't exactly sane from what I know,” Harry interjected, looking between the two. “How will this be worse? And won't it just set it on fire faster? What we all want?”
“I think, perhaps, this might set off something worse than we've ever seen,” Lucius told Harry with a sigh and shake of his head. “You're observation is a sound one, though.”
“How about this; we let Black and Lupin decide,” Severus suggested, looking between the two. “We're safe here and won't be bothered if the world explodes over it. They will have to deal with the whole nightmare. We lay it all out for them, including what we think it might bring on, then let them decide what to do. They have a better feel for just what's going on with Albus and other areas than we do.”
Pondering that, Lucius gave a short nod. “That—yes, we'll do that. They are the ones that will have to deal with the fallout of whatever they decide, so it's best to let them choose.”
“I think, even with the downside of what it could bring, this is the way to go. Let it explode, completely. It can only help, Lucius. If it's out there what he really is, it can only help move the public. Well, some of them. Most won't do anything and be content to sit behind closed doors and wring their hands over it. The ones on the fence might be the ones to do something. Any little bit helps in this area.”
“There is that,” Lucius admitted with a sigh. “I vote we lay it all out for them, completely, including what we think might come of it, then let them decide. That and talk it over with them. They may have a perspective we don't on it.”
Seeing Severus nod then doing so himself, Harry asked, changing topics slightly, “How sure of a bet is it he might go after those in Azkaban? I mean, from what I know, other than Sirius, no one has broken out of there or been broken out before. And Sirius—it was how he managed it that was odd.”
Sighing, Lucius told him, “I'm going to say he's going to do it. It's almost a guarantee. Albus isn't the only one that has issues now with what's going on and his plans have just been turned upside down. There is no one left in the normal ranks he can trust. We've ensured that he'll be suspicious of everyone. Then Nagini vanishing probably pushed that further. He—I can only imagine the level of rage, paranoia and distrust he's exhibiting. Though he's good, he knows he can't do this on his own. Which means he needs some followers that he can trust. The only ones left are the ones in Azkaban. Bella alone will be one he can count on. Her husband and his brother will follow along as well. The same with the others.”
“That won't come out nice,” Harry sighed, stroking Kaliya's head.
“No, it won't,” Severus agreed. “And if he does that, hell will come. The ones in Azkaban make the rest of his followers look like angels. Couple in all they dealt with while in prison and how it tends to play on your mental health, then what you have is a nightmare. That can only help him and he knows it.”
“Which Black and Lupin have to take into account before making that choice,” Lucius added softly. “When you talk to them tonight, Severus and I will sit in then lay this out. In the end, they choose what to do.”
Nodding at that, liking the idea, Harry relaxed.
“How about we wait for further discussion until tonight. We have plenty to do with your schoolwork. We can focus on that then go outside for a time,” Severus said, wanting time to think this over anyway to work out any kinks he might see. Hearing the affirmative, he stood to go to the library where they did the most work.
Pacing in his private chambers, Lord Voldemort kept glancing at the names scrawled in the air at one end of the room. There were two rows of them. On one side was the list of his current followers. On the other were the ones in Azkaban. What he was trying to figure out was if it was worth the effort to work with the Dementors to get those in prison out. That meant he had to decide if he had enough in his ranks that were still out that he could trust.
Stopping and glaring at the list, he eyed the ones that were in the current ranks. Those—the ones he counted on most were gone. Lucius—he didn't know where the man was and couldn't find any trace of where he had gone. All the normal places the man would hole up turned up nothing. He was sure there were properties he didn't know about, of course, and he had no way of checking those. With as paranoid as the old Pureblood lines were about protecting themselves in times of danger, it was a sure bet there were plenty. With Narcissa gone with Draco, he couldn't even count on Lucius being in the country. The man may have absconded to the continent or elsewhere to hide himself. Though he had plenty of contacts in other places, ones that were just waiting for him to come into power, he didn't fancy his chances of finding the man. There were just too many places he could be. Even if he had a clue to work with, it was no guarantee that he could get into them to check. No, Lucius was a lost cause. At least for now. If the man poked his head out of whatever hole he was hiding in, he would grab him then exact retribution.
Then there was Severus. Though he was wary about the man, with plenty questioning just which side of this mess he was really loyal to, including himself, the information Severus could bring him wasn't something he could get anywhere else. Even if he could, it would take far longer than it would to get it from the Potions Master. Again, he had no clue where the man was or even if he was alive. That didn't help. Though he had an idea of who pulled this foolhardy stunt, he had yet to get his hands on them so he could find out what they did with the man and why. As would be expected when someone betrayed him, they had vanished like a puff of smoke in a stiff breeze. That meant that source was lost as well.
There were others, of course, that were high ranking, but they weren't as dependable as those two. In fact, there were only a small handful of them. Everyone else was low ranking enough that they couldn't get what he needed and he didn't fully trust them. Oh, they feared him, no doubt there, like anyone with more brains than a flobberworm would, but fear wasn't enough. He needed loyalty. That he wasn't sure about.
Glancing at the names of those in Azkaban, he sighed. There weren't many of them. Just a handful. The ones there, though, were the kind he could trust. The fact that they were there proved they were loyal as they didn't try to wiggle out or deny their association with him. He needed that at the moment. More than ever before. Because he couldn't do this alone. He needed help to make his plans work. If he could have managed without followers, he would have. That meant it was time to take a drastic step.
Lifting his wand, he slashed out the names of those that were out of Azkaban and focused on the ones that were there. It was time to work with the Dementors. He hadn't planned to take this step yet, preferring to move slower and not be as overt about it. Someone, though, had pushed his hand and it was time to show their world he was back. At least in some way. The only ones that mattered might get it. The Ministry? Fudge wouldn't. He might suspect, but he loved his job too much to admit it to anyone. That was good and would only help.
Rising to his full height, he stared at the names emblazoned there. It was time. He needed the plan in place, the Dementors on his side, then he would rescue those loyal to him. They belonged by his side so he could deal with the nightmare. Once he had them, he would press on with the rest of his plans. Potter wasn't an issue right now. Though he wanted the boy and planned for him to die, he wasn't the focus. Some of his lower level Death Eaters would be assigned the task of hunting for him and whoever had him. The rest? It was time to let their world know he was back and strike fear in the hearts of Muggles. Albus—he would deal with him when he was forced. After all, he would relish watching the old man die.
Turning in a swirl of robes, he strode off to make plans and summon a few people. He needed this in place, fast.
After a glance at Sirius, Remus looked back at the mirror to contemplate what they were just told. It was a hard choice. They had just expected to talk to Harry for a half an hour or so tonight as not much was going on. When he had said Lucius and Severus would join them with a plan, he hadn't thought much of it. Now, though, it was something they had to seriously consider because of the magnitude of what it might set off.
Sighing, he shook his head then said, “I don't know about this. The hell it could unleash might not be something we can prepare for.”
“I'm going to say I bet it's coming anyway,” Severus told him bluntly. “The Dark Lord is worse than he ever was. With what we've pulled off, I will bet my wand that he's preparing his own version of Armageddon. It's coming, we all know it, this just pushes the timetable up.”
“It's your choice,” Lucius told the two, leaning back in his chair and stroking Nagini's head. “While I get your end and what you worry about, I see what Severus means as well. Both are viable reasonings on the topic. However, I think it's coming, as Severus said. It might be a good idea to cut it loose now and watch the fallout. It's not only going to push the Dark Lord's hand, but Albus' as well. I'm sure he knows the Dark Lord's genealogy. And he's not going to reveal it for whatever reason. Just like he didn't the name. And I agree with Harry that it probably has to do with the plans he has in place for him. The fire is stoked, gentlemen, and the blaze is coming. Even if you don't do this.”
Sighing, Remus nodded. “Very true, it is. If we do this, we can prepare. At least Sirius and I can.” Looking at his old friend, he asked, “What do you think?”
Folding his arms over his chest, Sirius looked between the faces and said, bluntly, in a firm tone, “Fuck it. Let's unleash hell. If we do, it blindsides both sides and gives us time. Those that need to protect themselves will know what this is and do what they need to. The rest? Let's wake them up. It might not alarm all of them, but it will enough. Albus has problems now, we all know it. I'm betting that side does too. Men with problems make mistakes. And those can only help us, in plenty of ways. Fudge—he might get the slap he needs. I doubt it, but he might. I'm going to guarantee that it will grab the attention of the DMLE. They know only a few people could take on Azkaban and get anyone out. If that comes, they'll focus where we need them to. This other article is going to hit before then because the manic isn't going to manage to pull that off before it does. And Wormtail won't even be mentioned in being able to pull this off. There is no chance. That leaves only one person that could want those people out.”
Thinking over what Sirius said, Remus sighed then nodded. “He's right. The tinder is all there. We've made sure of it. I say we put both sides off-kilter and blast them with this. Let it catch fire finally. And with all we've done, it'll blaze plenty hot. We need that. Albus will be back at school in a matter of weeks. He already has issues with replacing you, Severus. I think he has someone, but am not sure there. So, his attention will be divided. He can't do what he normally would. The hunt for Harry is his focus, though I bet that has floundered. We'll see. This might be what we need to jar things loose.” Stiffening his spine, he said, “Let's light it on fire, gentlemen.”
Pleased with that, Severus smirked. Looking at Lucius, he could see the man doing the same. Harry, too, was grinning. It appeared that the time for the war was at hand, though no one outside the five of them knew that. Perfect.
Lying in bed long after everyone else went to sleep, Harry was wide awake. Though part of his mind was playing over what could come of what they agreed on, the other part was driven by his hormones. Like so many nights since waking up from the coma, he couldn't sleep because what was below his waist was wide awake and demanding attention. And, like the other nights, he knew he wasn't going to sleep until he did something about it.
Groaning, he shut his eyes and watched the visions start to play out. Yeah, it was coming. Kaliya was doing what he called his 'normal patrol' around the house, something the snake did every night, unless he was needed in his room for something. It was just what he did. That gave Harry the chance to take care of matters.
Reaching down, he slipped his fully hard cock out of his pajama bottoms and started stroking it, eyes screwed tightly shut at the visions that played out behind his eyelids. Oh, this felt good. Since waking up, his cock was not only bigger, something that took a bit of getting used to, but felt more sensitive. That was something he liked. Oh, he had wanked before, several times, as would be expected, but he liked it more now as the feelings it produced were far more intense.
Panting heavily already as his balls throbbed, he stroked his cock faster, hips thrusting up as he did. Though not real experienced with anything sexual, he had a vivid imagination, as anyone would expect because of all the times he was forced to be alone with only himself for company over the years. That came into play with this. Watching the threesome play out, he gave a soft groan as his hand moved faster. Biting his bottom lip to keep quiet, though he knew he wasn't in danger of being overheard like he was in the dorms, he felt his body catch fire and throb.
Watching the scene shift to where he was between the two men he found he desired more each day, Harry's hand moved faster. Body stiffening, he groaned loudly as that throb melded with his balls drawing up then he came, splattering his bare chest. Panting heavily, eyes still shut, he couldn't help but grin. Oh, that felt good! And he was already more relaxed from it. By the time Kaliya came back from his patrol, he was sure he would be asleep.
As he cleaned up the evidence of what he had done from his chest, the guilt that also seemed to come from who he was thinking about as he wanked made itself known. Oh, they didn't know he fancied them that way, he was sure of that, it was just the idea.
Finishing up, he turned on his side with a groan and curled up into his normal position. Eyes shut, he thought about Severus and Lucius, wondering if, maybe, the fantasies couldn't become a reality.
