Kindred Passion
CHAPTER 4
Albus watched Seanna. Something was bothering her. "Seanna, do you need something?" She stood, "Yes. I need someone to tell me who did this. So far not a word has been spoken. Neither Tariq, Achak or even Harry has told me." She looked at Albus, "Is there a reason I shouldn't know?" Albus went and took her hands, "No Seanna. It's just we wanted to spare you the additional pain." He met her gaze, "It was Severus and Fionn." She paled, "Severus did this to Tariq? Why?" Dumbledore shook his head. "The excuse he gives makes no sense to anyone. Supposedly it was because Sev was protecting you, but like I said, it makes no sense. And Fionn is claiming it had to do with Clan loyalty." Tariq came up to her, and took her in his arms, "Let it go, Seanna. It's over with and we survived their horrors."Albus looked at them, "I'll bring supplies for both of you. You can stay as long as you like." Achak spoke, "Harry and I will be returning to the school. You don't need any more protection than you can handle on your own." Thinking past the horrible facts, Seanna said to Albus, "There is one thing that will be needed. At Harry and Achak's advice, would you please have the Loup-Garou continue to supply blood for Tariq? I don't feel like getting chewed on again by an angry Nosferatu!" Achak chuckled.
At the sound, Albus looked startled, "Would you please tell me Seanna, how you managed to change so many people? Even a dour Nosferatu, who I never even knew could smile, much less laugh." With a beautiful smile, Seanna replied, "Perhaps I bring out the best in some people." She sobered quickly, "But unfortunately, it doesn't work on everyone," thinking of her brother." "All right, let's go. Seanna and Tariq, make yourselves at home. I'll be back with your supplies."
After the three men left, she said to Tariq, "Let's go back outside. I want to watch the stars." Putting their coats back on, Tariq and Seanna went out to stand in the dooryard. Quietly she asked, "Habib, why didn't you tell me?" Wrapping his arms around her, he said, "I couldn't hurt you any more. And, even though you released him from his relationship with you, I know you still care about him." She relaxed, "Do you realize this is the first time we've ever been completely alone? No kids downstairs, no Professors and Kindred popping in for stupid reasons." Tariq stood behind her, and pulled her against him, hands resting low on her abdomen. "I think this must be one of the most romantic places I've seen. Or maybe it's the company." He smiled, "I can't believe we're having a baby," he pressed his hands against her. "Seanna, you've given me so much, and now this. It's a miracle. Earlier in the year I told Sirius that there would never be a woman in my life, because of what I had been through. Now, there is you."
Tariq took a deep breath, and gently turned her toward him. Taking her hand, he knelt. "Seanna Kaelyn Snape of The Fianna, will you do me the honour of becoming my wife? I love you so much." Seanna stood there, stunned. She had never expected this. With a heart full of joy, she replied, "Tariq of the Seif al Nu'man, I will love you always and would be proud to accept your proposal." She grinned, "Although I think you also need to speak to the Primogen about this." She turned back toward the pond and the stars, allowing him to rest his hands over their child.
"Seanna?" "Yes, my love?" "Why don't we go back inside," Tariq asked her. Seanna smirked, "Remember, Albus will be returning!" He answered, "I know, but I thought we could turn out the lights and sit in front of the fire." She purred, "Oh yes, I'd like that." Slowly they made their way back into the cottage. Taking a couple of blankets and pillows from the sofa, Tariq spread them in front of the fireplace, then settled Seanna down on her side, facing the fire. She felt Tariq lie down behind her. Sliding back until their bodies touched, Seanna reached for his hand and placed it over their child. "Sweet, I thought we had to wait for Albus?" Seanna sighed, "We do, but I want you touching your child as much as possible. Remember, it was one of the three things you wanted most."
Tariq thought about that, and held her closer. His child. Maybe he really did need to find out how this miracle happened. "Seanna, did Mairead and Sibeal say anything about how you ended up pregnant?" She started to sit up, "You mean they didn't tell you?" "Ok, Lady, relax," Tariq told her. "I was so anxious to get to you after they told me about the baby that I didn't stick around for explanations. Can you tell me? Please, my love."
Wanting to watch his face, Seanna turned over. "They explained that the old records told of cases where Vampyres could father children. According to what they found, it only occurs when the Vampyre becomes a woman's first lover. But she also needs an emotional attachment to him." She grinned, "I guess that proves my feelings for you, doesn't it?"
Tariq held her close, "It seems we really were meant to be together. How are you feeling? About the baby, I mean." With tears in her eyes, Seanna smiled, "Habib, next to loving you, this child is the most important thing in my life. I would do anything for the two of you."
There was a loud "pop'. Tariq sighed, "Albus, isn't there any way you can warn a person?" "Sorry Tariq," with a wave of his wand, Albus filled the cupboards and icebox. He created a large stack of firewood in the corner. "Now, is there anything else you need?" Giggling, Seanna replied, "Well, I'm not sure if we'll need them, but it would be nice to have some clean clothes." Albus grinned, and waved his wand again, "When you go up, you'll find them. Anything else?" Tariq said, "No, thank you Albus, we have all we need." He responded, "Be good to each other, children, I'll check back in three days, noontime. Oh, I almost forgot, Mairead sent these," handing Seanna a small bottle. "They're vitamins specially created for that little bloodsucker you're harboring." Albus grinned at Tariq so he would know it was a joke. "See you later, children," and with another "pop' he was gone.
Seanna said, "I can see why Harry admires him. There's power, but a kind heart too." She narrowed her eyes, "But I'll get him for the "bloodsucker' comment!" "Uh oh!" Tariq grinned, "I think I'd better warn him that there's a short-tempered daughter of Airmed, looking for revenge." Seanna shook her head, "If I were looking reverevenge, I'd be on my way to Hogwarts to make sure there was one less Snape in the world!" "Seanna, hush. He's not worth it," Tariq attempted to calm her. She turned to look in his beautiful eyes, "Tariq, I know some of what he did to you. Please don't try to convince me he did no harm. He hurt you." Tariq closed his eyes, "Seanna, what do you know?" She gently touched his lips, "I know he beat you. It came through the link." With tears in her eyes, she added softly, "And I know he raped you. Habib, if you want to hold off on our relationship, I'll understand." She tried to hold him close to her, but he broke free.
Rising, Tariq went to stare out the window, "I never wanted you to know about that." Even the beauty that surrounded him could not ease the ache caused by her knowledge. He sensed her behind him, "Seanna, please don't touch me. I can't handle it." Softly she replied, "Alright, Habib." She left the room, hurting. Taking a coat from the closet, she quietly let herself out of the Cottage. Wandering down to the small pond, Seanna stood there, tears in her eyes and her heart. All she had wanted to do was comfort him, but he had pushed her away. Walking, just to have something to do, she roamed farther away from the cottage and the man who was breaking her heart.
At last, exhausted by all that had happened, Seanna sank onto a fallen log to rest with a tree behind her to lean against, she fell into a troubled sleep. Images of Tariq haunted her, the loneliness and despair once again ravaging her soul. In her sleep, she apologized to her child, regretting that she must end the pain. Sinking deeper with the cold night, Seanna was giving up. Facing Lady Death, she offered up her life and that of her child, to let her rest.
Tariq eventually turned, expecting Seanna to be curled up on the sofa. Not finding her there, he went looking through the cottage. As each room was showed to be empty he became fearful. Where was she? Returning to the entry ct, ht, he saw that the coat she had worn earlier was missing. She had gone out. Taking his own jacket, Tariq stepped out into the yard. Calling her name, he listened for a reply. All he heard was the night creatures and the wind in the trees. Dear Haven, what had he caused her to do when he rejected her?
Spotting footprints in the snow, Tariq followed them to the pond. He could tell she stood here for a while, then he saw the prints leading along the bank of the pond. Continuing to trail her, he became frightened at the thought of her being alone in the woods. For more than an hour the trail led him away from the cottage. Suddenly, she was there before him, asleep. "Dear God, No! Don't let her die. Seanna love, please wake up." He couldn't sense any life in her, only coldness. "Seanna, hold on for me,easeease. As you asked me, I ask you in return. Don't go away from me. I can't exist without your love."
Lifting her, he made his way as quickly as possible to the cottage. Laying her in front of the fire, he wrapped all the blankets around her cold body. He felt a hand touch his shoulder, a man, he'd never seen before knelt beside him. "She was outside, and fell asleep. I don't know what to do for her." The man took his chin, and turned Tariq to look at him. Staring into the young Vampyre's eyes, he grinned, "Feed her." As Tariq began to rise the man continued, "From your own blood. It will restore her, as she is of Airmed's bloodline."
Tariq stared at him, "Who are you?" The man replied, "You might call me the spirit of the pond. I felt a request go out to Lady Death and was curious. There have been few in my woods in many years. But why would this child wish for death?" As Tariq cut his wrist, and tried to get Seanna to swallow his blood, the man held her head and forced her to open up. "I have recently been injured, and in my pain and anger, I pushed her away when she only wanted to give me comfort." As she began to take his blood, the man nodded, "There are feelings between you, and a child." Seanna moaned. "One word before I leave, reject nothing this one offers freely. There is much power in her to help and heal." With that, the man disappeared.
Tariq gathered Seanna close, "My love, please don't leave me. I'm so sorry I sent you away. Give me a chance to show you my love." Seanna's eyes flickered, "Yes, Seanna. Wake up, my love. I need you here with me. Lady Death can wait a long time before I let her take you from me." "Tariq?" He hugged her, although it hurt that she used his real name instead of the nickname she had given him. "I'm here Seanna." She turned her head, "Why did you find me?" He shattered, tears pouring down his face. "I had to, you're my life Seanna. Please forgive me for being stupid. I should never have pushed you away."
Touching his cheek, Seanna said softly, "Habib, make love to me, please. I need to feel you with me." He bent his head, kissing her, "I missed that." Gently removing the blankets, he lifted her onto his lap. Unbuttoning her blouse, he slid it from her body. As his fingertips brushed her skin, Tariq felt Seanna shiver. "I'm glad some things don't change, my love." "Just you wait, Tariq," Seanna replied, and pushed him back onto the pillows. "If I remember right, I promised a return from our first night."
She quickly stripped off his shirt, and then began running her fingers over his skin. She leaned forward, kissing him. Running her tongue along his lips, Seanna persuaded him to let her in. Brushing his tongue with her own, she felt a shudder run through him. When she caressed his fangs, his whole body jerked. Straddling him, she could feel his arousal but had other things in mind. Next, she decided to do a little nibbling of her own, biting his neck as he had hers. Seanna began covering his chest with wet, licking kisses and suckling at his nipples. "Seanna, please stop. You don't know what you're doing." She looked up, "Is what I'm doing upsetting you, Tariq? If it is, of course I'll stop." She sat, waiting for his answer. "Groaning, Tariq pulled her down to him, "No, I don't want you to stop. Your touch feentasntasntastic." She smiled and kissed him, "Lie back, and relax as much as you can."
Turning to face his feet, Seanna felt him release her bra as she was removing his boots. Scooting backwards up his body, she unfastened his pants and began pushing them off his legs. Reaching out, he slid the straps of her bra down her arms until shung ung it away from her. Havincidecided to let Seanna do what she wanted, Tariq closed his eyes, to better enjoy her toucHe He felt her small hand wrap around his erection. He wondered what she was thinking, as she slowly stroked his aroused flesh.
Touching him, Seanna thought he felt like velvet- covered steel, he was so hard. Remembering his tongue on her, she wanted to taste him as well. As she took her first taste, it was wonderful. Salty, and very much as she thought he would taste. For a few moments, she licked at the head like an ice cream cone, finally engulfing him. Following a desire-born instinct, she took him deeper, and then drew back, repeating the motion. Seanna could feel the tension in him as he fought the urge to drive himself into her mouth.
