Chapter 4
The frog must die
Indeed, life was good. Harry
had now settled (at least for the DADA meetings) the problems with Malfoy; people did not think of him as a lying weirdo; Cho had praised one of his performances of last
year; he had something to resist Umbridge and the
ministry. . . Yes, life was very good. But everyone knows that good things
always must come to an end, and end it did as the weekend had finished.“Did you see it?”
“D’you
reckon she knows?”“What are we going to do?”
Hermione, Ron and Harry had
barely taken their seats at the Gryffindor table that morning when Fred,
George, Dean, Neville and Ginny walked towards them, and began assaulting them
anxiously with questions. They too had heard about the new “Educational
Decree twenty-four” which the High Inquisitor of Hogwarts (Professor Umbridge) had established this morning; which forbad all
students to take part in organizations, societies, teams, groups and clubs that
had not been approved by the High Inquisitor. Umbridgean>

really did need to die. . . well,
that’s what everyone wanted, anyway. . .Looking around the Great Hall,
Harry made sure no teachers were near.“We’re going to do it anyway,
of course. . .” whispered Harry.“Knew
you’d say that!” George beamed, patting Harry on the
arm.“The prefects as well?” asked
Fred looking at Ron and Hermione, mockery tng hng his voice.“Of course,” Hermione said
coolly.“D’you
think. . .” Neville started nervously. “D’you think that Malfoy could’ve said anything?”What a sadist. Sure, I torment people by embarrassing them
and such. . . but taking pleasure in the physical
pain of others. . . she’s exactly the same as… He
shut his eyes and shook his head, as if to dismiss the thought. Looking back at
Lloyd he started whispering: “She’ll pay one day, that b-““Mister Malfoy.
. .” the horribly honeyed voice said sweetly which brought nasty shivers down Draco’s spine.“Professor Umbridge?”
he asked, smiling at her innocently.“Would you please tell us all
what it was you had been discussing with Mister Ramsden?”
she asked with a falsely wide smile.“Oh,
but of course, Professor. I was just telling Lloyd here,
how interesting this book was. Really, Professor Umbridge,
I just adore the way you decided to teach this class. Finally, we have a
decent Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher,
nothing like that Werewolf, Lupin,” he
answered, still giving the professor his best smile. Oh yes, suck-up
indeed, Malfoy.“What a delightful young boy
you are,” she started, “just like your father, I must say.”Draco’s
jaw twitched involuntarily at the mention of his father, but he kept smiling.The frog
must die. . . were
his last thoughts as the bell rang.****************
Author’s note: I know!! It
wasn’t very long!! But please don’t kill me!! I just couldn’t write all that
happens from the last chapter to where the people join the Trio in the room of
Requirements!! I swear, you’ll see that part in the
next Chapter!! ^_^I hoped you
