He had almost let him walk away from him once but he wasn’t ever going to let him do that again. They would either live or die tonight.
But whatever happened they would face it together. Or they would if he could fine the stupid git. If Harry died before he could find him he was going to kill him.
He searched the hallways of Hogwarts for his lover. He was becoming frantic with fear. He had bypassed many fighting groups and was starting to despair of ever finding him again when he came across the one person he least expected to be there, Ronald fucking Weasley was blocking his way.
“Move it poor boy.” Draco snarled.
The red haired youth just shook his head in amusement at the furious Slytherin in front of him.
“You’ll never change ferret boy. I don’t know why he loves you.” Ron smirked.
Draco crossed his arms across his chest with his wand still clutched in his hand. “If it makes you feel any better Weasel, I don’t know why he does either. Now move,” he said coldly.
Ron smiled slowly. And for the first time ever, Draco Malfoy was scared of Ron Weasley.
Ron shook his head and his smile was replaced by a look of deep sadness. He sighed, he didn’t want to help this boy go after Harry but he loved Harry and if this bastard in front of him was the one to do it, then where was it his place to stop them.
“He is in the Great Hall, Malfoy. Take care of him.” with that Ron turned and walked away from the stunned Slytherin. Draco knew deep down that this was the last that anyone would see of Ron Weasley.
Draco ran. Ran as fast as he could with the fear stealing his breath that he was going to be too late. He rushed thru the doors into the Great Hall and his stumbled to a stop his body frozen in terror. A cry was torn from his throat at the scene that met his eyes.
No. No. No.
Please God don’t let this be happening.
“Harry!” as his lovers name was torn from him as he felt his limbs become his own again and he flew to the side of his lover, his friend, his everything.
He picked up the bloody and broken body in his arms ignoring what was happening around him.
“Draco,” came the pain filled voice of the boy in his arms.
“Sh, I’m here,” Draco tried to remove the fear for him from his voice but he knew that he had been unsuccessful.
Harry reached up a hand and drew his shaking fingers around the cheek of the now crying boy who held him.
“Thank you for loving me.” he whispered as his eyes closed again.
“No. Oh please God no.” Draco sobbed as the body of his lover started to shake and Draco heard laughter from beside him.
He glanced up into the red eyes of the one whom had killed everything in his life that had been worth living for.
He lovingly put the now still boy down upon the floor. He would come back to him after he was done doing what he needed to do and then, then he would join his lover, his life, his everything. He would do what Harry had been trying to keep him from doing when he had told him to stay, he would fight.
And he would do what he needed to do. And then he would join Harry.
After that...
Everything Else Could Wait.
