"Good afternoon," Remus greeted Sirius as he groggily stumbled down the stairs in his bathrobe.
Sirius cringed at all of the open curtains and the bright sunlight. This was the only time he missed the darkness of Azkaban, when the sun penetrated into his eyes.
"Stupid sunlight," the tired animagi managed to mumble as he poured himself a cup offeeffee.
"Did you notice that you changed into Padfoot in your sleep?"
"I did it on purpose. Did you know that you rolled yourself up in all of the blankets last night?"
"Sorry," Remus winced. "I guess that’s why you changed."
"Can’t put anything past you."
"Do you feel like going into town today? Maybe when can get you some new clothes."
"Sure," Sirius yawned. "Why not?"
"So much has changed," Sirius was amazed by of tof the new magic equipment that infested the stores. All of the clothes had changed since he was free as well. Right now he was wearing Remus’ clothes, which were a little baggy on the smaller man.
"Close your jaw, Sirius," Remus laughed. "You’ll get used to it."
The two men continued their walk, babbling about the past like girls. The went in and out of a few stores, carrying bags of clothes out with them. Remus didn’t intend on buying any clothes for himself, but he was flattered by the compliments that Sirius gave him.
Many weird looks were tossed their way as the walked around hand in hand. They couldn’t care. They were happy and madly in love. The rest of the world didn’t seem to matter anymore.
"If it isn’t for Mr. Black," the two men were stopped by Severus Snape as the walked along. "They finally let you out?" the death eater asked with a hint of sarcasm in his voice. "I knew it was only a matter of time before you two would be giggling like little girls and making googley eyes at each other again."
"Go away, Snape," Remus spat. "We have no need for your smart ass remarks."
"And Mr. Black still needs some one to stick up for him."
"You foul beast," Sirius muttered.
"What was that?" Severus cupped his ear in his hand. "Are you finally going to show some back bone?"
"You’re a useless, foul, mongrel!" Sirius yelled. "Now get the hell out of our w
Remus and Sirius pushed past Severus, their hands tightly holding o to each other’s.
"I liked what you did to Severus earlier today," Remus laid his book down and cuddled up under Sirius’ arm under the covers. "It was very brave of you."
Sirius didn’t respond. The name of the foul man made him angry and an evil glare crossed his face.
"Is there something wrong?"
"I hate that man," Sirius muttered under his breath.
"Despite the fact that he was a Slytherin, what makes you hate him so much?"
"It doesn’t matter."
"Yes it does, Padfoot. I want to know."
"It’s what he did to me back in Hogwarts. He pretended to have a devoted relationship with me before I met you. Two weeks later, he completely humiliated me in front of the entire school."
"Moony-"
"It’s fine now. I’m over it."
Remus leaned in and kissed the tear off of his cheek. Sometimes it was too late to take back asking a question.
"It’s all in the past. Now we can happily cuddle up and go to sleep."
