"Pansy, Pansy wake up," someone called.
"No, leave me alone," I mumbled in a state of being more then half asleep.
"It's almost eleven, you need to wake up."
I groaned and threw the pillow I was laying on over my head. It felt way to damn early and I was in no mood to get up.
"Pansy, come...on," Draco said and struggled to pull the pillow off my head while I held onto it in a death grip. "My parents want to have
brunch with us." He finally managed to get the pillow but I pulled the sheets up in it's place.
"I don't want to," I told him. I really didn't. How on earth could I sit and have brunch with the Malfoy's after what had happened last
night.
"Fine," Draco said and stopped attempting to pull the sheets down. "I'll just go down and tell them that. My mother can talk to us later.
Though she did say it was important..." Draco trailed.
Slowly I pulled the sheets down and narrowed my eyes at him. "What are you talking about?"
"My mother said she needs to talk to us about something. Something important. I don't really know what it's about."
At first I was a little panicky. What did she want to talk to us about? But then I knew it wasn't anything about what had occurred between Mr.
Malfoy and I. She wouldn't know about it and I'm sure he didn't tell her. But maybe she had seen me there that night, after all, Mr. Malfoy
did.
"Fine, just let me take a shower and I'll be down," I told Draco.
"Good." He quickly kissed me on the forehead and ran to the door, winking at me before he vanished behind it.
To my displeasure, I rolled out of the very comfy bed, and hopped into Draco's shower. I could have stood under the stream of hot water all
day but knew that it would be looked on as completely impolite if I was late for brunch. So I turned off the water, jumped out and quickly
dried off. That was the easy part. Narcissa believes appearance is everything, so I've always taken care in what I wear around her. She's never
seemed to have had a problem with my attire but I guess I've just been waiting for my first mistake. Deciding on a black-pleaded knee length
skirt and dark green blouse, I brushed my black hair back and walked down to the dinning room.
They were already sitting at the table. Mr. Malfoy, reading a paper, at the head, Mrs. Malfoy on his right and Draco on the left. Smiling I
walked in and took my seat next to Draco, thankful for the distance -and paper- between Lucius and I.
"Good afternoon, Miss Parkinson," Narcissa greeted me with a smile.
"Good afternoon," I said back and nodded my head.
"I see you had no trouble finding the dinning room, today," Lucius said casually, not looking up from the newspaper in his hands.
"No sir,"
"Well I should think she would have no trouble," Mrs. Malfoy said, "She's been here so much it would be strange for her to get lost now."
"Yes, well," Lucius said and looked at me with a grin, "you never know."
I looked down from his gaze and felt my stomach churn. Maybe it was the smell of the smoked ham on the table but I was feeling as though I
could throw up at any moment.
"So mom," Draco said, "What was it you wanted to tell us?"
"Oh yes, well we are having a party tonight."
"You are having a party tonight, dear," Mr. Malfoy corrected. "We simply have to attend."
"Oh stop," Narcissa told her husband, "Anyway, it's formal so you need to wear something nice. It's starts at eight so you have time to go
get something to wear and get ready."
"Mother do we really have to go to another one of your party's?" Draco drawled.
"Yes you do," she stated, "certain people will be coming and we must all be on our best. Do you hear me?"
"Yes mother."
"Good, so don't forget, eight tonight. I don't want you two to forget."
Conversation after that was minimal, if it was existent at all. Draco and I departed for his room after Mr. Malfoy left without word and
Mrs. Malfoy began preparations for the party. Draco was not very happy about having to attend another one of his mothers social gathering. I
never really minded them, sometimes they were really fun. I liked getting dressed up and mingling with all their distinguished and aristocratic friends. It makes me feel grown up and dare I say, classy. No one would ever think of me as classy, but I like the idea.
"Draco I don't have anything here to wear tonight," I told him.
"Well you don't need to wear anything," he said and wrapped his arms around my waist from behind.
"I don't think your parents, or their friends, would appreciate me coming out there naked."
"I don't mind." Draco nuzzled into my neck and began nibbling my skin. It didn't feel as sensual as it used too.
"Draco, please," I said and pushed him away. "Either I can go home and get something to wear or you can take me to Diagon Alley to get
something new."
He sat down on his bed and folded his legs under him. "Well, I don't really feel like going to Diagon Alley."
"Fine, then I'll go by myself and be back later tonight."
"Good," he said and walked back over to me, "then you can surprise me with how sexy you'll look."
I smiled at him and gave him a quick kiss. I told him that I needed to hurry or I'd never find a dress. He seemed to think that logical
-because I'm a girl- and finally let me floo out of the Manor.
It really didn't take me long to find a dress. As soon as I saw it I knew it was the one. It was a long strapless dress, silky and silver. I
knew they'd like it. Since I found my dress in only a matter of minutes, I went home instead of going back to the Manor. I soaked in a long hot
bath for what seemed like forever, until the spell enchanted to keep the water warm began to wear off. After getting out I saw the time and the party
was not too long away. I wanted to look my best so I needed a lot of time to get ready. While I always wanted to look my best for others I knew
that tonight it was different. I wanted to look good for him. I wanted him to notice me, to see me as a woman and not just as Draco's little
girlfriend.
My hair was swept up in a clean bun. My neck was adorned by a diamond choker with an emerald serpent hanging from it that Draco had given me on my birthday. Finishing off with a
pair of black heels, I looked at myself and felt satisfied. Surely, I looked elegant and feminine enough. Deciding not to floo back to Draco's room, I
made the decision to enter through the front just like everyone else. I wanted to be like a surprise. So, when it was a quarter after eight, I
left for Malfoy Manor.
From outside the door the classical music could be heard. It flowed through the air like wind to meet me. Though it was summer and the air
was humid, I still felt a chill run through me as I stepped up to the large door. Before I even knocked a servant from the other side opened
the door and bowed as he ushered me in. Everything in the entry way was newly polished. The enchanted ceiling was dancing with stars that shone
in white and silver. The servant, one who I did not recognize, lead me into the next room where the party was taking place. There were dozens
of people crowding the room. All either in dresses as fashionable as mine or in suits clean and well-pressed. There was no way to find Draco
amongst the room. There were simply too many people. So I drifted among them, hoping that maybe he would find me. Everyone was dancing or
talking. I said a few hello's to people as I passed but never stopped to talk to them. I knew no one there.
"Enjoying yourself?" Came a voice from behind me.
Whipping around I turned to face Draco, a smirk plastered on his face and his hair neatly combed. The silver-blond color shone bright
against the candle light from the torches on the walls.
"I've been looking for you," he said, "though I don't know how I could have missed you. You look amazing." Draco took my hand and kissed the
top.
"I haven't been here too long," I admitted.
Draco couldn't stop smiling, his perfect smile was wide and made me feel special knowing it was for me.
"Would you like to dance?"
I nodded my head and took his outstretched hand. Draco led me to the middle of the room where everyone was dancing. Just like everyone else,
he took one of my hands in his and placed the other on my waist. We started to dance in time with the music. Spinning around the room like an
old carousal. Looking over Draco's shoulder I watched as the rest of the room spun also, everyone on their own slowly spinning ride of
distorted reality. I caught a glimpse of someone, looking back at me, for only a moment. I knew it was Mr. Malfoy. His hair was down, cascading
like a silver water waterfall over his black robes. But he was gone within a seconds time and I was lost in the crowd full of manufactured
characters.
"Do you want something to drink?" Draco asked me after we stopped dancing.
"Sure."
Draco left me sitting at the table while he went to get us drinks. I watched as he stopped to talk to someone before he reached one of the servants with a drink tray. I knew it would be a while before he came back so I scanned the room. He didn't seem to be there as I looked over everyone a few times. I was feeling as though my efforts at looking refined were wasted by not seeing Mr. Malfoy again. Then a thought crossed my mind and I quickly rose from my seat, making sure Draco didn't see me. He didn't. He was still in deep conversation with one of his parents friends to notice I was gone.
Ascending the stairs of the Manor I was met by a few of the guests. I gave them no second glances and continued my search. I don't know why I thought it, I think it was just hope, but I thought that maybe he was in his study again. So, as I now knew where it was very well, I made my way down all the long corridors to the room. The torches were out, keeping the hall dark besides the moonlight casting in through the windows. As I got closer to the study I thought about turning back, I thought of how stupid I was being for expecting him to be there. And for expecting anything to happen. Did I really want something to happen again? I was so throughly embarrassed by the other night that I wasn't sure if I really wanted to be in his presence again, alone. But when I thought about what he did to me, what he was still doing to me even without being around, I knew that I wanted him to be inside that room when I got there.
Finally, when I came to the door that always seemed to be open, I didn't stop and peek in. I turned in the doorway and walked inside as if it were my own room. But when I looked around, to my disappointment, he wasn't there. So it really was just my childish hopes and fantasy's that expected him to actually be there. Sighing, I turned around to leave and go back to the party when I was confronted by a figure blocking the now closed door.
"Good evening Miss Parkinson."

Please review.
A/N: Sorry that this one was again, short and not sweet. It's mostly just a set up for the next chapter. I hope to have it up soon. I've been writing like crazy the past few days:)
