- Ron and Hermione stepped out of the Weasley’s fireplace. Immediately, Hermione turned and wrapped her arms around Ron’s neck, bursting into tears. “Oh, Ron! What’s happened to him?”
Ron sighed and rubbed his girlfriend’s back soothingly. “Shh, ‘Mione. It’s okay...Harry’ll be okay. He always is, isn’t he?”
Sobbing, she said tearfully. “But Ron, what if he isn’t fine?” She looked up at him, wide-eyed. “What if Harry is gone for good? What if he’s never normal again?”
Ron sighed again. His girlfriend was so melodramatic at times. “Listen, ‘Mione, it’s Harry. He’s the Boy-Who-Lived. He’s survived Avada Kedavra. He’ll be fine, I promise!”
Sniffling, Hermione pulled away and accused. “You’re so full of it, Ronald Weasley! You don’t know anything!” Breaking down completely, she turned and ran up the stairs to Ginny’s room, leaving her boyfriend standing helplessly in the kitchen.

Hermione sat on Ginny’s bed, the red-haired girl rubbing her back gently. “Oh, Herm, was it truly awful?”
The brunette nodded, still upset to the point of tears. “Oh, Gin, it was terrible, I swear! He seemed fine at first...and then the Mediwitch explained how he thinks Lemon Drops fix everything and he won’t acknowledge being upset or that anything bad can happen and...” Her voice broke and she began to sob once again.
Ginny’s eyes narrowed. “I could just kill the Headmaster! I mean, what was he thinking? Merlin knows that Harry’s been stressed enough without him trying to make Harry feel better with those awful candies!” She threw a pillow against the far wall, growling. “And Mum won’t even take me to see Harry! I want to see...”
Hermione hugged Ginny tightly as the girl broke down. “Oh, Gin, I know you still love him...”
“H-he’s all...all by hi-himself in th-that place...” She choked out. “Wh-what if he’s sc-scared or...or n-no one w-wants to...to li-listen when he’s r-ready to t-talk...”
“Gin, calm down, love...” Hermione cooed, trying to sooth her but not knowing how. “I’m sure there are Mediwitches nearby at all times.”
Ginny nodded, sniffling. “I...” She smiled weakly. “You’re right, Herm. I just...I’m worried about him, is all. What must he be going through? All that pain is locked up inside, hidden by his...condition...”
Hermione agreed, hugging Ginny again. “How about this, Gin. I’ll talk to Molly later tonight and explain how badly you want to see Harry. Maybe she’ll let Ron and me take you next week. Alright?”
Ginny murmured her reply. “Alright, Herm. I’m gonna lay down for a little while, okay?”
Hermione smiled and rose, tucking the younger girl in and pressing a maternal kiss to Ginny’s head. “You do that, Gin. You need some sleep.” She turned the light out and then left Ginny’s room, closing the door softly behind her.
