Ok, I am going to try to keep updating this frequently, but
no promises, since I do have to work and all, and I am trying to get my own
book published, but I’ll try my best.

hmm... ok, well I love this story
so far, so I'll forgive you for not updating :-P 5 stars!
Thank you for your support, and Demini-Vegetas Slave, I will
really consider putting the idea of Snape teaching Lucinda occulmency (I think
that’s the right spelling, I, too, am too lazy to get up and get my book) into
the story, it’s an excellent idea, and I just don’t know where it will fit yet.
Oh and Lynette, thank you for the offer to help me, I might take you up on the
sometime.
Disclaimer: I don’t
own Harry Potter, if I did I’d be rich and my dream of becoming an author
accomplished.
Anyways, on with the story.

The potions
classroom was almost empty as Lucinda walked in a few minutes before the bell.
Not many students had made it into Snape’s N.E.W.T level potions. Malfoy and she
were the only Slytherins; there was one Hufflepuff, and about five Ravenclaws.
Hermione and, surprisingly, Harry, were the only Gryffindors, although, Lucinda
assumed that Dumbledore had something to do with Harry being in the class.
Lucinda
gave a smile to Harry and Hermione as she walked over and sat down beside them.
“Hey guys.” She said, taking her potions book, quill, ink bottle, and a piece
of parchment out of her bag.
“Hey
Lucinda.” Hermione said, leaning over to giver a hug, “Missed you at the feast
last night, where were you?”
“Yea, heard
Malfoy got in trouble with Snape! Don’t know why though.” Harry added in.
Lucinda
raised an eyebrow, wondering how they had missed the commotion over at the
Slytherin table. “I wasn’t feeling too well; I retired as soon as I got off the
train.”
“Oh. I do
hope you’re feeling better mudblood.” Replied a voice from across the room.
“Shut up
Malfoy!” Harry growled.
“Or what
Potter? You going to sic your girlfriend on me?”
“That’s
enough out of the two of you. Twenty points from both Gryffindor and
Slytherin.” A voice came from the back of the room.
While the
other students turned around to face their potions master, Lucinda sat in her
desk, staring straight ahead. How she was going to make it through this class,
she had no idea.
Severus
entered the potions classroom walking right into the middle of a yelling match
between Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy. Although that was nothing new, Severus
was not in the mood and took points from both houses, instead of just
Gryffindor like he usually would have done.
Flicking
his wand at the blackboard in the room, causing a recipe for a potion to
appear, he walked up to the front of the room and turned to face the class,
trying to avoid looking at Lucinda. “This potion, Draught of Living Death, is
one of the hardest to make, but I trust, that with your talent for potions,
most of you should be able to do it right.” He growled, staring at Harry. “You
have until the end of class to finish, although it shouldn’t take you that
long. After all the ingredients are added, you will need to let the potion
simmer for forty-two hours. After that, I will be testing them. You may begin.”
Severus sat
down at his desk, and started to work on his lesson plans for the next month,
although he couldn’t concentrate with Lucinda sitting only a few feet away.
He stared
at the parchment on his desk and slowly slipped into a daydream.
“Class is dismissed early, Ms. Palmtroy,
please stay behind.” Severus announced. The class cheered, save for the small
redheaded girl, who looked frightened about being asked to stay behind.
As soon as the rest of the students
cleared, Severus swept around his desk, and stood in front of the table where
Lucinda was slowly packing of her things.
“Professor Snape?” She questioned.
Severus looked into her green eyes, “Lucinda.”
He aid gruffly.
She smiled at him before rushing
around the table and straight into his arms. “Severus, gods how I’ve missed the
feeling of your arms around me.”
Severus smiled, and flicked his wand
at the door, closing it, locking it and placing wards on it, before setting his
wand on the table. “I have missed you so much; I never meant to hurt you.”
Lucinda nodded, tears wetting the
front of his robes. “I know Severus, I know.”
“It’s too dangerous for us to be
together Lucinda, you must understand that.” Severus said, looking down at her.
“I don’t care; I can’t live without
you, please.” She replied, looking into his ebony eyes.
Severus captured her lips with his,
as he let his hands begin to roam her body. But all too soon he pulled away. “You
realize this could mean the death of us both.”
Lucinda nodded, “Together in death.”
She said poetically.
Severus shook his head, “Together in
death.” He agreed as he slowly began to slip her robes off.
“Professor
Snape? Are we free to leave? Class has been over for five minutes.”
Severus
awoke from his daydream to see the class ready to leave. Well almost all of the
class, Lucinda was sitting at her table with wide eyes, as if she had just been
awoken from a dream.
“Yes, class
dismissed.” He said staring at Lucinda, who, to his surprise, was looking
directly back, with a small smile on her face. Was it possible? No, Severus
shook his head, it couldn’t be.
Lucinda
shook her head as she left the potions classroom. The daydream had been so
vivid, so real. She turned around to glance back at the potions classroom, just
in time to see Severus leaving the classroom. As he swept passed her, he paused
for a moment. Lucinda held her breath hoping…
“Eight o’clock
sharp tonight Ms. Palmtroy, do not be late.” And he stalked away.
Lucinda let
out a disappointed sigh as soon as he was out of sight. “Greasy Git.” She
muttered. She gasped and covered her mouth with her hand. Did she really just
say that about the only man she ever loved, the only one she wanted. Or maybe
he wasn’t the only one anymore; maybe she was finally getting over him.
Lucinda
gave a little skip before hurrying up to the great hall for lunch. Finally she
would be able to move on with her life. She walked into the great hall with her
head held high, and took a seat, not at the Slytherin table, but at the
Gryffindor table, beside the ones she truly called friends.
The
Gryffindors were quiet for a moment, but then burst into introductions and
welcomes. Finally Lucinda felt like she really belonged.
Near the
end of lunch, as the students were slowly filing out, Malfoy approached the
Gryffindor table with his two goonies, just as Lucinda, Harry, Hermione and Ron
were rising.
“Well,
well, well, looks like the mudblood has finally learned her place.”
Lucinda
turned and faced Malfoy. She was sick and tired of his cruelness. “Shut up
Malfoy! Your only mean to us because you know we’re better then you! We’re not
the result of incest!” Lucinda shouted. She turned and stalked out of the hall,
followed closely by her friends, leaving a stunned, red faced Malfoy in her
wake.
“That was
bloody brilliant!” Ron exclaimed as they headed for DADA.
“I don’t
know Ron, Malfoy is not happy.” Hermione said thoughtfully.
“Oh hush
Hermione, it’s about time someone put Malfoy in his place.” Harry replied.
They walked
into the DADA classroom and stared in shock. There in front of them was Professor
Lupin.
“Remus!”
Harry exclaimed.
“Professor
Lupin in class Harry, please.” Lupin replied with a smile on his face. “Now
take your seats.”
The four of
them sat down as the rest of the class filed in. Malfoy was the last one to
enter, and gave a nasty glare to the group.
The rest of
the afternoon went by smoothly, and finally the last class, Herbology, had
ended. Lucinda had supper with her friends and then headed down to the dungeons
to deposit her books in her room before heading for detention.
All too
soon the time came and Lucinda found herself in front of the potions classroom.
She took and deep breath and knocked on the door, which swung open
automatically, and Lucinda stepped inside.
