Title: The Power Of Blood

Rating: R

Summary: Severus has been captured by Aurors for the murder
of Dumbledore and the rape of Hermione. He requests something unusual and the
lives of everyone will never be the same.

Chapter 4: Voldemort�s Plan

�� Several
witches screamed when Dumbledore appeared through the wall, but the rest where
just surprised. They knew that Dumbledore didn�t fear death, so why was he
here?

�� I�m glad that all
of you are happy to see me,� Dumbledore said, twinkling at them.

�� Um�Albus, what are
you doing here?� McGonagall asked.

Dumbledore grinned at her.

�� I�m here because
none of you are letting me sleep,� he said. �You�re all sending Severus down a
road that I don�t want him to go. And I�m ashamed that none of you are trying
to help him out.�

�� He murdered you,�
Mrs. Weasley said.

Dumbledore gave her a strange look.

�� No, he didn�t,�
Dumbledore said. �He took an unbreakable vow to protect Draco and Narcissa. He
cared about what happened to them. I don�t think that you could say the same
thing about Peter.�

Several of them covered their mouths in shock.

�� I�ve been watching
all of you and I was angered that his friends didn�t care about him. He was
bitten by Greyback and you�re not even going to give him the potion that he
needs. Your going to put everyone in-danger just because you didn�t like how
things happened.�

Everyone hung their heads down.

�� I want him
released,� Dumbledore demanded. �I�m not above going to the Ministry to have it
done.�

Moody grunted when Dumbledore said that.

�� And what do you
have to share with the class?�

�� Well, it might get
him off from burning, but he still rapped Miss Granger,� Moody said. �He�s
going to be placed in Azkaban for ten years.�

Everyone nodded in agreement.

�� Do you have any
idea what a Blood Bond is?� Dumbledore asked. �Or have you not looked that up.�

Several people shook their heads.

�� A blood bond is
when a wizard takes responsibility for what he has done. There also can�t be
any ill-feelings. A blood bond is done out of the goodness of the heart,�
Dumbledore explained. �If Severus rapped Miss Granger out of his own free will
then he couldn�t use a blood bond, it would backfire.�

�� Which means he
wasn�t in-control,� McGonagall said.

Dumbledore nodded.

�� What about what Katie
said that Severus had said?� Mrs. Weasley said.

Dumbledore thought about this.

�� It seems that like
Harry, he has a direct link to Tom,� Dumbledore explained. �I think that we
need to start acting on what Severus says. It might be the only thing that
saves us from anymore victims.�

�� So does this mean
that I can finally take care of my patient?� Katie asked.

Dumbledore chuckled.

�� Of course,�
Dumbledore said. �And I believe that I know how to get Severus to wake up.�

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

�� I�m having a
little problem, Wormtail,� Voldemort said to his only servant that was with
him.

�� What is that,
Master?� Wormtail asked.

�� Severus isn�t
dead,� he said. �And he has knowledge of how to get the parts of my soul.
Wormtail, take Greyback to Hogwarts and have him kill Severus. I�m not going to
have him telling the Order where to find them.�

Wormtail paused and then suggested something.

�� I think we should
move them,� Wormtail said. �I mean, it would be better then getting caught.�

�� CRUCIO!�
Voldemort cried.

Wormtail fell on the floor, screaming. After a few moments,
he stopped.

�� Do as you�re told,�
Voldemort said. �And do it now.�

�� Yes, Master,�
Wormtail said.

And he limped away.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

�� Severus
woke up a few moments after Katie gave him the antidote. He looked around, not
understanding how he had gotten here. He smelled the odor of fresh Wolfbane
Potion and knew that someone had brewed it for him. He quickly sat up and drank
the potion in one gulp. He made a face, no wonder Remus hated it.

�� Well, I�m glad
that you�re awake,� Katie said. �I was almost afraid that I lost you.�

Severus glared at her.

�� And you�ve taken
your Wolfbane Potion, that�s nice. I had a batch brewed from your stores and-.�

�� You went into my
privet stores,� Severus snapped.

Katie frowned at him.

�� Slughorn made a
fine mess of your stores,� she told him. �I�m sure that you�ll want to clean up
the mess that he made.�

Severus eyes went dark. Oh he was going to do a lot more to
Slughorn then just �clean up.�

�� Now I want you to
relax and I�m going to make sure that your new arm is working out for you.�

Severus blinked, confused.

�� New arm,� he
repeated.

�� Yes, I�m afraid
that we had to cut off your old arm because of gangrene. Your new arm will work
out just fine. Thank god it wasn�t your wand arm or you would be in trouble.�

Severus pulled at his sleeve and found an arm that didn�t
have the Dark Mark on it.

�� Now, once I�m done
then your to go to the Headmistress office,� Katie said. �She wants to talk to
you.�

�� Ya, probably
telling me where I can and can�t go,� Severus muttered.

Katie gave him a sharp look and then worked on him. After
ten minutes she told him that he could leave.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

�� Headmistress
McGonagall looked up when Severus entered her office. He paused, looking
around, but then stood before the Headmistress. She knew that he was worried
about what she was going to say.

�� Why don�t you take
a seat,� McGonagall said.

�� I choose to stand,
thank you,� Severus said.

�� Very well,�
McGonagall said. �It has come to my attention that there is evidence that you�re
innocent of killing Albus of your own free will. This evidence has been given
to the Ministry of Magic and you shall be released at once. However, you�re not
free to return to Voldemort to gain anymore information. This is too dangerous,
Severus! I�m not having you end up like Karkaroff.�

Severus understood what she was talking about.

�� That�s why I�m offering
you the position of Herbology teacher and Deputy Headmaster,� McGonagall said. �I�m
hoping that this will be good enough.�

Severus thought about this.

�� It does have the
bonus of being around all those herbs,� McGonagall said. �All
those wonderful potion ingredients.�

This sparked his interest.

�� Alright, I�ll take
the job,� Severus said. �Boy, witch, you know to bribe a wizard.�

McGonagall giggled.

�� Thanks, I�ll take
that as a compliment,� McGonagall said. �You still have your office in the
dungeons and your living quarters back.�

�� Thank you,
Headmistress,� Severus said. �However, I�ve got something to ask you for.�

She looked at him.

�� What?�

�� I need you to
arrest someone that put me in this position that I never want to find myself
in. He has betrayed us all and I want him sent to Azkaban.�

�� Sure, but I need
to know what happened.�

Severus took a breath and then retold his story.

Note: Next, we�ll find out who put Severus and Hermione
under the Imperious curse and Harry gets a letter from
McGonagall.
