"So, Harry, what are we going to do today?" Hermione asked at breakfast the next morning.

"Well, I have three other properties I need to go see, if you would like to come with me. Or you can stay here. It's up to you guys." Harry looked around at his four housemates.

"I want to go with you." Draco decided. Pansy, Blaise, and Hermione agreed.

"Okay. We'll leave in a little bit then." Harry decided.

After breakfast, the five teens went to their rooms to get ready for the day. Everyone met on the front steps to the castle where Harry was holding the portkeys that would take them to his other properties.

The first place they went was a beach with a large sized house facing the ocean. Immeaditly, Hermione started figidting.

"Go on, explore if you like." Hermione grinned, kissed Harry's cheek, and took off.

"You two know each other very well, don't you?" Draco asked.

"Sometimes better than we each know ourselves." Harry nodded.

Twenty minutes later, Hermione came running into the house where the other four had relocated. "Harry! This is an island, not a beach!" She skidded to a stop in front of them.

"You're joking?! Where are we, Harry?" Pansy turned to face the aforementioned bruntte.

"I think the papers said somewhere in the Mediterrian Sea, actually." Harry answered.

"You knew we're on an island?" Draco rounded on him.

    "Maybe a little." Harry smirked.

They stayed on the island for about an hour before deciding to portkey to the next property.

"Oh! I know exactly where we are this time! We're in Greece, south of Athens on the coast. Just outside Phaliron I believe."

"Hermione, how the hell do you know that?" Harry asked.

"My maternal grandparents live in Phaliron."

    "Wait, really?" Pansy asked.

"Really. My mum came to England for college, fell for my father, and became a citizen."

"You're joking? Do you know any Greek?" Draco asked.

"Nai, bebaios. (yes, of course). I'm fluent in it, actually. That and French from my father. His mum was from France. Granddad met her in France and brought her to England. Enough though, we have a villa to explore." With that, Hermione led the way into the villa.

The villa was situated 50 feet away from the cliff edge and had a pool in the courtyard.

They stayed there for another hour until Blaise looked at Harry and asked, "So, any more places to go?"

"Just one." Harry answered, pulling out the remaining portkey.

    "Where?" Draco asked.

"Back to England. Godric's Hollow." Harry answered, sarring at the pendant in his hand.

The other four teens stared between Harry and the pendant he held. "If you want, Harry, you can drop us back off at Potter Manor and go on your own." Hermione said gently.

Almost violently, Harry shook his head. "Relax, Harry. If you want us there, we'll gladly go with you." Draco wrapped a hand around his wrist that was holding the pendant. "Whenever you're ready to go, just say the word."

They all placed a finger on the pendant and waited for Harry. He whispered the password and they were gone.

They could see it; the Fidelius Charm must have died with James and Lily. The hedge had grown wild in the sixteen years since Hagrid had taken Harry from the rubble that lay scattered amongst the waist-high grass. Most of the cottage was still standing, though entirely covered in dark ivy, but the right side of the top floor had been blown apart; that, Harry was sure, was where the curse had backfired. They all stood at the gate, gazing up at the wreck of what must once have been a cottage just like those that flanked it.

"I wonder why nobody's ever rebuilt it?" whispered Hermione.

"Maybe you can't rebuild it?" Harry replied. "Maybe it's like the injuries from Dark Magic and you can't repair the damage?"

He reached out and grasped the thickly rusted gate, not wishing to open it, but simply to hold some part of the house.

"You're not going to go inside? It looks unsafe, it might - oh, Harry, look!"

His touch on the gate seemed to have done it. A sign had risen out of the ground in front of them, up through the tangles of nettles and weeds, like some bizarre, fast-growing flower, and in golden letters upon the wood it said:

On this spot, on the night of 31 October 1981,
Lily and James Potter lost their lives.
Their son, Harry, remains the only wizard
ever to have survived the Killing Curse.
This house, invisible to Muggles, has been left
in its ruined state as a monument to the Potters
and as a reminder of the violence
    that tore apart their family.

And all around these neatly lettered words, scribbles had been added by other witches and wizards who had come to see the place where the Boy Who Lived had escaped. Some had merely signed their names in Everlasting Ink; others had carved their initaials into the wood, still others had left messages. The most recent of these, shining brightly over sixteen years' worth of magical graffiti, all said similar things.

Good luck, Harry, wherever you are.
If you read this, Harry, we're all behind you!
    Long live Harry Potter.

"They shouldn't have written on the sign!" said Hermione, indignant.

But Harry beamed at her. "It's brilliant. I'm glad they did."
    *

Harry stared at the hole on the right side of the house. He turned and looked away froim the house after a few minutes, noticing as he did, that Draco had not let go of his wrist. In the distance, he could see a small church. Without conciously making a choice, Harry made his way to the church.

"Harry Potter." A random villager spoke to him when he reached the church. "They're three rows from the back. No one else will bother you." With that, the older man walked away from them.

Draco switched from holding Harry's wrist to holding his hand. "Whenever you're ready." He spoke again.

Harry led the way back to the third row from the back.

"Over here, Harry." Hermione called. Their headstone was of white marble and they didn't need to kneel to read the words, but Harry did.

    James Potter Lily Potter

    Died 31 October 1981 Died 31 October 1981
The last enemy that shall be destoryed is death.

"It means living beyond death. Living after death." Hermione explained before he could ask.

But they weren't living. They were gone. Nothing could hide the fact that their remains lay beneath his feet, unknowing that their living, breathing son was there. ** The tears came before he could stop them and he made no move to pretend he wasn't crying. Some part of his brain registared the fact that this was the first time he'd really cried for his parents.

As sobs wracked his body, Draco and Hermione knelt beside him and wrapped their arms around him. He felt Pansy and Blaise each lay a hand on his back and rub soothing circles there. Slowly, Harry's sobs stopped and then his tears but still he knelt at his parents' headstone.

None of them were sure how long they'd been there, just that Draco and Hermione had summoned flowers at some point and Harry'd lain them in front of the headstone.

Eventually they stood and walked out into the square.

"Harry, look!" Pansy pointed to the obnelisk war memorial in the square. When they past, it changed to a statue of three people: a man with untidy hair and glasses, a woman with long hair and a kind, pretty face, and a happy, scarless baby in his mother's arms. ***

"Aww, such an adorable baby." Draco smiled slightly, hoping to cheer Harry up a bit.

"Shut it, Draco!" Harry blushed scarlet but there was a small smile on his face. "Come on, let's go." Harry spoke again after looking his fill at his parents and himself as a baby.

They portkeyed back to the castle only to find all the Weasley's, Sirius, Remus, and Dumbledore waiting outside the gate.

A/N: * pgs 332 - 333 of Deathly Hallows (I changed it up a tiny bit to make it work for my story though)
** pg 328 of Deathly Hallows (bits are changed to make it work for my story)
*** pg 324 of Deathly Hallows
A bit backwards, weren't they? My referances at any rate. Okay, it came to my own attention today that Potter Manor is a boring, bland name for a castle. SO if you have any suggestions please leavev them in a review and I will of course give credit if I use yours.
