- Hermione stretched and groaned trying to loosen the stiff muscles in her back. Detention that week had been brutal and she was no closer to getting the professor's attention. She forced herself out of bed, her body screaming in protest. A hot shower was definitely in order.

She bounded down the stairs to the common room still a little stiff but feeling much better.
"Any progress with your loverboy?" Ginny asked looking up from her book.
"None whatsoever. I don't know what he's working on but it's got his undivided attention."
"You dropped your quill, right?"
"Yes, and bent over entirely more than neccessary to retrieve it."
"Tried the lollypops I gave you?"
"Yep, still nothing."
"Well then I think it's time you appeal to his intellectual nature. It's your last day of detention, are you up for some reconnaissance?"

It was 8:05 pm and Hermione was now knocking on Professor Snape's classroom door for the third time, still without an answer.
She smoothed her hair as much as possible, plucked up her courage and pushed open the heavy wooden door.
The sight before her stopped her in her tracks.
There, fast asleep with his head in his hands, was Professor Snape.
Hermione noted that he looked completely exhausted. His face was beautifully relaxed in slumber but the the dark circles under his eyes stood out in contrast against his pale features.
She thought to wake him but quickly decided against it. This afforded her the perfect opportunity to procure a copy of his research. Pulling from her bag a stack of blank parchment, she proceeded to do just that.
She tucked her newly acquired research into her bag. She penned a quick note to the professor explaining the state she found him in and offering to make up her detention on an evening in which he felt more rested.
She quietly closed the heavy mohagany door behind her and ran full speed back to Gryffindor tower.
She quickly spotted her partner in crime and made her way over to join her in one of the lounge chairs in front of the fire. She pulled the research from her bag, duplicated it, and handed the copy to her ginger haired friend.
"We've got work to do Gin."
