Harry woke with a pounding headache, having that fuzzy feeling that one always has after crying. Wiping away the sticky feeling on his face with the backs of his hands, Harry looked around the new room that he'd been put in.
"Master Harry! You're awake! Master Severus told me to take you down to dinner once you woke up." Alloy squeaked happily, quite the opposite of Sterling who was always serious.
Harry sniffed lightly, "Where is Snape?" The last thing that Harry remembered was .. dragging Snape down onto the bed. Yeah, that's great, I'm surprised he didn't hex me into oblivion. He's probably sulking in his dungeons now. Greasy git.
Alloy simple smiled, "He said that he had some business to take care of. Now, come on, you need to eat."
Ah, he's seeing about sending me to St. Mungo's then. I'm sure that the Daily Prophet would get a kick out of this whole situation. Harry Potter, molested by Uncle, tried to kill himself with a broken piece of glass. Saved by Severus Snape.
Getting up out of the bed Harry followed the little house elf through the manor and to the small dining area where Snape and Harry ate breakfast each morning.
Harry had just sat down when the sound of a door opening and closing in the foyer could be heard.
"That must be Master Snape now." Alloy said as she walked into the foyer to see, the tips of her ears bobbing up and down as she walked.
"Oh! Master Snape, Master Harry just sat down for dinner," Harry heard Alloy squeak obediently.
"Did Sterling finish with the room?" Snape's voice questioned.
"Yes sir, everything has been restored." Alloy was only too pleased to answer.
The sound of feet against the marble of the foyer echoed down the hallway that led to the dining room and then, there he was, standing in the room looking at Harry as though everything were perfectly normal.
Severus, who'd pocketed his wand, sat down in his usual place at the table and then waited for the house elves to bring out the food.
"So, Potter, do you think you're capable of living in your old room, without breaking the window out or do I need to transfigure up a padded cage to keep you in?" Snape wished to know.
Harry glared at Snape, "l will be fine, I'm sorry for burdening you with my problems. I guess you see now why I didn't want to tell you.. about the bruises."
Severus was silent for a long time, his eyes looking down at the table, "Your uncle will not be bothering you anymore."
"Professor did you...."
But then the house elves walked in with the food and Snape simply refused to talk while eating. Harry knew, however, just exactly what his Professor had done, and for once he thought that Snape just might be a tad bit .. human. But only a little.
Severus looked up from his plate, which was now filled with food, and watched in astonishment as Harry once again began wolfing down food. The boy never chewed, it was as though he simply inhaled whatever was set before him.
"Potter, has anyone ever taught you manners?" He questioned, quite seriously.
"Er, no, why?" Harry said around a large mouthful of meat pie.
The Slytherin rolled his eyes at the boy's stupidity, "Because you have the table manners of a troll."
Harry swallowed the mouthful of food and had the decency to look chagrined, "Sorry." He muttered, mostly not caring if Snape was repulsed by his manners.
The two continued eating in silence, the only sound in the room was the tinkle of china as forks met their plates.
"Uh, sir?"
Snape looked up with a sigh, "What is it now, Potter? Your owl catch a cold?"
Harry had to fight back his smart reply, "I was wondering if I could ..well, if I could go to Diagon Alley to do some shopping."
The Potions Master rolled his eyes, the last thing he wanted to do was take Harry Potter on a 'shop-till-you-drop' mission, but he did need to visit a few shops, "I have some things that I need to pick up there as well. We'll leave tomorrow morning." Was his answer.
Harry was relieved, he'd finally be able to get some clothes that actually fit. Each time he went back to the Dursley's his trunk was confiscated and anything worth taking, such as clothes, was never seen again. Which was exactly the reason that Harry always owled whatever money he had leftover back to Gringotts before he went to the Dursley's.

Harry was once again in the room that he'd started out in at Snape's manor. Night had fallen and just moments ago Harry had heard Snape going up the stairs and into his bedroom.
How strange it was to be at Snape's house. Harry had thought that it would be much worse and that he'd loathe it more than anything but, truthfully, it wasn't so bad. It wasn't Hogwarts by any means but, he could visit Snape's library whenever he wanted (as long as he put back whatever he touched), and he was actually treated like .. a person- for the most apart. Allowed a nice room, meals, and the service of house elves.
It was even better than Grimauld, and for that Harry felt a bit guilty, after all, it hadn't been Sirius' fault that the house was utterly depressing. At least the Order could still use it for their headquarters.
With a sigh Harry rolled over and pulled the blankets over his head to block out the moonlight that was brightly streaming in through the sheer curtains.

"What in the blazes?!" Snape shot up out of his bed, wand drawn, only to find that he was in his room alone. He'd heard something, he knew that he had!
Padding softly, stealthily from his room, Snape walked across the bridge that connected his hallway to Potter's and he stopped outside of Harry's door. Yes! There it was again. Opening the door, slowly, and then hissing as it let out a loud creak, Severus peeped into Harry's bedroom and watched as the Boy Who Lived thrashed about in his bed, moaning loudly.
If the brat would just learn occlumency. Severus thought as he crept up to the bed.
"Potter." He said, intent on simply waking the wizard so he could get back to his own sleep.
Harry simply moaned, his face contorted and his body covered in a light sheen of sweat. The boy's arms suddenly darted out and wrapped around Severus' neck and before Snape could blink he found himself being pulled down onto the bed.
"POTTER!"
Harry's eyes flew open at that, "AH! SNAPE! WERE YOU TRYING TO GET IN MY BED?!" The panicked Gryffindor exclaimed.
Snape popped back, standing as far away from Harry as he could manage, his face was deathly pale and livid, "I WASN'T TRYING TO DO ANYTHING! YOU TRIED TO PULL ME INTO YOUR BED! ISOLENT BRAT!" With that Snape rushed from the room and slammed the door.
The Boy Who Lived laid there for a few minutes, staring at the closed door.

The next morning at breakfast was a silent affair as the two men barely looked at each other. It seemed that both wanted to simply forget about the night before.
When they finished eating Severus and Harry rose from the table and walked into the foyer where Sterling waited with Snape's cloak. Harry and Snape walked to the apparation point just beyond the gates that fenced in Snape's property and once the gate door was latched behind them Snape turned to Harry and opened his arms.
Harry blinked at Snape, "What?"
Snape made a face that said he thought Harry as a hopeless imbecile, "You don't know how to apparate and Albus Dumbledore would have my head if I let you get splinched. " He explained, and then added in a mutter, "Not that you don't deserve it."
Glaring, Harry went into Snape's arms and wrapped his arms around the Potions Master's waist.
"Although, if you did get splinched it would earn me some brownie points with the Dark Lord." Severus added as he closed his arms around the young Mister Potter.
With a 'pop' the two men were gone and when they reappeared Severus quickly peeled himself from Harry and looked around the bustling streets. "Let's go get my supplies first, then I'll take you -"
Harry cut him off, "Sna-- Professor, I can easily walk myself around Diagon Alley."
Snaped speared Harry with a look that said he clearly found the Gryffindor incapable of finding his way out of a closet.
Harry glared back, "I've managed to survive this long haven't I?"
Snape wrestled with the decision, "Fine, but meet me back here within an hour and be on time." With that the Death Eater swished off.
"Worse than Mrs. Weasley." Harry muttered as he turned and walked down the street to Gringotts bank. After withdrawing a hefty amount, Harry's first stop was in a clothing store. Pants, some that actually fit, button-up shirts, some jeans and a few t-shirts were the first things that went into Harry's bag. After finding some converse shoes that captured his attention, and a pair of nice dress shoes, Harry then walked over to the robe shop and was quickly fitted for some new robes. Three of the new robes were for Hogwarts only, while the others were for simple wear throughout the day.
Harry grumbled as he carried the bags around. If Snape had come along I might have been able to persuade him to carry my bags. Harry laughed at the thought as he went into the magical creature shop and bought some treats for Hedwig. His last stop was at the Quidditch supply store where he bought the latest magazine that followed all of the professional Quidditch matches. It seemed that the Chuddly Cannons were on a losing streak again. Poor Ron.
Jogging lightly Harry made it back to his meeting place with Snape exactly on time, but of course Snape was already standing there and waiting.
Snape looked down at the many bags in Harry's hand with a raised eyebrow as if to say 'Could you buy anything else?'.
Harry shrugged and Snape once again opened his arms. Harry stepped into them, this time without any question.
We're definitely going to Floo next time.Snape thought acidly.
When they reappeared Severus once again disentangled himself from Harry as quickly as possible, and without speaking the man sauntered back up to the house, his black robes billowing around his feet.
