The Interview
Takes place a few days after Draco picked Harry up from the Dursley's.

“Harry, love, stop fussing. You look fine.” Draco stated as he took a hold of his fiancé’s hands to still them.
“I’m sorry. I’m just nervous.” Harry replied. “Articles about me in The Daily Prophet don’t always go well.”
Draco smiled softly. “I know. But at least it’s not that Skeeter woman who’s interviewing us.”
Elsewhere, a bell rang throughout the manor.
“It’s time.”
“Y-yeah.”
A few moments later, Narcissa entered the sitting room the boys were occupying with a middle-aged woman in tow. “Draco, Harry, this is Anna Manuel. She’s here for your interview.”
The two aforementioned young men stepped forward and hands were shaken.
“Have a seat.” Draco offered as Narcissa left them alone.
“It’s nice to meet you both.” The woman stated as she sat in a lovely wingback chair. The teens sat opposite her on a small love seat.
The blonde gestured toward a tray on the coffee between them. “Tea? Biscuits?” He offered.
“Thank you, but I’m fine.” Anna replied as she pulled a clipboard, parchment, quill, and ink from her bag. “I thought we might get right into it.”
Harry poured himself a cup of tea and took a sip to give his hands something to do. “What do you want to know?” He asked as he did so.
“Well, I guess the burning question is: How did you two meet?” She scratched something down on her parchment.
Harry sputtered in his tea, but smiled a little.
Draco answered first. “We first met on the train to Hogwarts our first year.” He started but was quickly interrupted.
“Actually, that was the second time we met.” Harry interjected.
“It was?” Draco asked, looking at his fiancé in confusion.
Harry nodded. “Yeah. The first time we met was in Madam Malkin’s. We were both fitted for robes at the same time and you talked to me a little bit. You were mean and pretentious.” Harry explained. “I’m not really surprised you don’t remember. You didn’t know who I was at the time.”
“How mean was I?” The blonde boy asked meekly.
“You said some pretty horrible things about class and blood purity.” Harry replied.
Draco had the decency to turn red. “Yeah, that does sound like young me.”
“Can you elaborate on that, Draco?” Ms. Manuel asked as she took notes.
“I was a snotty, little, elitist brat.” The boy in question answered.
“Yes, you were.” Harry chimed in. “But you changed.” He added with a soft smile.
Harry picked up a biscuit as Anna continued, “So, it seems you two knew each other for some time before getting together. How did that happen?”
The raven-haired boy paled slightly as images of a certain redhead flashed through his mind. He began to shiver.
Luckily, Draco noticed this and placed a comforting arm around his love. “Shhh. It’s okay.” He whispered against Harry’s temple.
“Is he alright?” The journalist asked, lowering her quill and parchment for a moment.
Draco looked from Harry to Anna and back again. “Off the record?” He asked.
Immediately, the woman deposited her parchment and quill onto the coffee table in front of her. “No problem.” She replied. “I’m only meant to report on the wedding and child for the events page.”
“Harry was abused and impregnated by someone he thought was a friend. Then, his abuser beat him into a miscarriage when he found out about the pregnancy. I discovered this was happening and began supporting Harry in whatever way I could. Hatred turned into friendship turned into love.” The blonde teen quickly explained, smiling down at the boy in his arms.
“I’m so sorry.” The woman said softly to the still shaking boy. “If it’s alright with you, I believe I can work that into the story without giving too much detail.”
“I… I don’t know.” Harry nearly whispered.
“I promise. It’ll be tasteful. Nothing more than a mention of trauma to introduce your current relationship.” Anna explained carefully.
Harry glanced up at Draco, looking for support. “It’s up to you, Harry.”
“I guess that would be okay.” He stated quietly, staring into his tea.
Anna gave him a gentle smile. “Alright then. Shall we continue?” She asked as she picked up her supplies once more.
“Yeah.” Harry mumbled.
“When would you say you fell in love?” Ms. Manuel asked, taking notes once again.
Draco piped up first. “For me at least, it was on our first date. We were walking back to the castle from Hogsmeade when Harry here started throwing snowballs at me. We ended up tumbling through the snow a bit and I just knew right then that I loved him.” He turned his attention to Harry. “What about you, love?”
The raven-haired boy turned red as he replied, “The first time we made love with you on top. You made me feel so safe and loved. My heart swelled.”
The journalist scratched a few more notes onto her parchment before saying with a smile, “Don’t worry, I’ll leave that little detail out.”
Harry sighed in relief. He certainly didn’t want his sex life laid bare for all to read.
“Now then,” The witch started, her excitement rising. “When’s the big day?”
“August first.” The pair answered in unison.
“Really? Isn’t that just a day after your birthday, Harry?” She asked. The dark-haired boy nodded and took a bite from a biscuit. “Why so soon?”
Harry turned to look at his blonde lover. “Yes, Draco, why so soon?”
Draco blanched slightly. “The answer is gonna sound pretentious.” He replied. “Tradition. We can’t exactly have a baby out of wedlock, now can we? And I thought it would be easier to get it out of the way during summer holiday than trying to deal with school, pregnancy, and planning a wedding.”
“You’ve really thought about this, haven’t you?” Harry asked, surprised his intended had put so much thought into their future already.
Another hour passed when Anna Manuel seemed satisfied with the amount of information she garnered from the pair of young men.
“When will the story be printed?” Draco asked as the woman packed away her things.
“Tomorrow, maybe the day after. But most likely tomorrow.” She replied as she stood from her seat.
Harry and Draco stood as well.
“And it’ll be tasteful, like you promised?” Harry asked, full of apprehension.
“Of course, Harry.” The woman replied with a cheery smile.
“Let me walk you out.” Draco gestured toward the door.
“It was nice meeting you, Harry.” Anna said and held out a hand to shake the young raven’s.
Harry briefly took the offered appendage. “You too.”
In the doorway, the woman paused. “I almost forgot.” She pulled a small camera from her bag. “I’m supposed to get a picture of the happy couple. If that’s alright with the two of you, of course.”
“It’s fine with me. Harry?”
“Yeah. Okay.”
Anna spent a few minutes positioning the pair but she couldn’t seem to find one she liked. She tried having them stand side by side holding hands, but that was too stiff. Then she wanted them to face each other holding both hands, but that wasn’t right either.
Finally, she decided she wanted Draco to stand behind Harry with his hands on the pregnant boy’s slightly protruding belly.
“Alright now, smile.”
The pair acquiesced but just as the flash went off; Draco tilted his head slightly and planted a soft kiss on Harry’s temple, maintaining eye contact with the camera. Just a little extra way of saying: He belongs to me.
Boy-Who-Lived to Wed Malfoy Heir
What a joyous occasion it is.
This summer, on the 31st of August, our young savior, Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy will be joined as one.
The pair kindly granted this reporter a peek into their lives as a couple new to love.
Mr. Potter and Mr. Malfoy met in school, though their relationship was rocky at best. It would be several years before the pair would confess their love for one another shortly after the beginning of their whirlwind affair.
Unfortunately, their love began by Draco discovering a severe trauma the boy-who-lived survived. What started as a tentative friendship quickly blossomed into something more as they continued to spend time together.
It was reported to this journalist that Draco fell in love with his intended by the end of their first date, a lovely, little affair that took place in Hogsmeade one snowy day in February.
Aside from the upcoming nuptials, which will be invitation only, the pair of young lovers has a wonderful announcement to make: they are expecting a child to be born at the beginning of next year, early 1998.
Any and all gifts and well wishes should be sent to Malfoy Manor, care of Narcissa Black.
Draco read the article aloud as his mother and Harry ate their breakfast.
“It’s shorter than I expected.” Harry stated simply after swallowing a mouthful of egg.
The blonde folded the paper and returned to his own breakfast. “I asked her to make sure it was short when I walked her to the door.” Draco responded.
“Why’d she ask so much that didn’t get used in the article though?” The dark-haired boy asked, taking a sip of orange juice.
“Probably to use in other articles.” Draco replied with a soft sigh.
Harry started. “What other articles?”
“Well, there’s bound to be one the day of and/or after the wedding. Plus when the baby’s born.” The slightly older teen said. “They probably just wanted to save some information for later.”
“Oh. I see. Do they really expect strangers to send us gifts?” Harry asked.
“Well you’ve already started receiving gifts of relatives who won’t be attending the wedding.” Narcissa interjected.
“Really? Can we open them?” Harry was suddenly excited.
Draco grinned at his intended’s antics. “After breakfast, love. After breakfast.”
