"Miss. Granger, translate what I'm about to yell to Potter!" Severus had Draco up and was cast diagnostic charms on him. "POTTER, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN QUIDDITCH CLASS UNTIL YOUR SICKNESS HAS CLEARED UP! AND DETENTION FOR PURPOSLY MAKING MR. MALFOY CRASH!"
Hermione sighed and repeated it four times for Harry.
"I didn't purposly make him do anything." Harry said, and rubbed his throat. "The stupid idiot knew he couldn't pull out of the dive at that speed and that close and he's the one who continued because he wanted to show me up which he knows is impossible when we're on brooms. If you want to blame someone blame Sara Smythe she released the Snitch knowing Malfoy and I would go for it."
"You're not helping your case." Hermione deadpanned to him.
Harry ended up sitting next to Hermione pouting and studying as Snape loomed nearby daring him with one of his looks to get back on his broom. He was not happy at being literally grounded. He wanted to fly. He even had to give the Snitch back or face Hermione scolding him. She did seem to be sympathyzing with him a bit.
"HERMIONE GRANGER!"
Hermione looked up blinking. She sighed and alerted Harry to Oliver Wood rushing over.
"What is this about Harry having a sickness that means he can't play this year?" Oliver demanded.
"How did you even hear about that so fast?" Hermione asked. "Look, I don't even see why this concerns you this year as Harry is a Slytherin now and can't play for Gryffindor anyway."
"Then I'll repeat the same question as Wood." Marcus Flint said, walking up beside Wood.
"Oh, for Merlin's sake!" Hermione snapped. "Go talk to Proffesor Snape, Flint. Oliver, I'm sorry but you go talk to Professor McGonagall and or Professor Dumbledore. Both of you leave me alone!"
Both boys took her at her wood and went to complain to their respective Head of House.
Thanks
Hermione squealed and Harry found himself being hugged.
"Great job, Harry!" she praised when she let go and he could read her lips again. "I have to agree it seems to be a simple spell but we should try learning this new method they're going to teach us first."
Yeah.
He agreed his writing appeared before her hanging in the air he swished his wand and his words vanished earning him more praise.
"Now why can't he catch on to Potions that fast?" Severus drawled.
"Your teaching methods." Minerva snipped. "The answer is no, Mr. Wood."
It was torture to have to watch Ron and the others playing Quidditch around him so he was glad when the class ended and they headed for Charms. Harry noted the big black dog seemed to be coming with them and keeping close to him. He was confused but patted the dogs head again. In Charms Harry was alerted that some of the Slytherins were teasing Ron about his Quidditch performance. He frowned and intervened with his voice which hurt like hell. Hermione had tried but revealed herself to be unable to follow what they were talking about as it didn't interest her and she'd only ever read one book on Quidditch in her entire life. He quickly shut everyone down including Ron. Most of the other kids in the class sulked to their seats when he was done with them.
Harry sighed and rubbed his throat he really wished he had some water. Wait didn't he know a spell to make something a Goblet? Yes, he did but not the water charm. He pulled out his list of what he wanted Hermione to teach him and wrote down Water Charm. He could tell that adding something to the list was making Hermione excited and tossed her a smile.
Not far away Dudley was frowning. Was that girl Harry's girlfriend she hadn't left his side all day and the teachers kept looking to her to deal with Harry's sickness whatever that was. It wasn't fair that Harry had a girlfriend before him. It just wasn't!
Harry and Hermione exchanged a frown when Professor Flitwick explained how they would be learning spells from now on.
"That sounds like a lot of work." Ron cried making everyone's thoughts known.
Hermione quickly told Harry what Ron said. Harry rolled his eyes.
Cuz he can't pass the test.
Harry wrote in the air. Hermione giggled.
"OI!" Ron yelled.
But most of the class was laughing or trying not to.
Flitwick privately agreed but got his class back under control.
"Wait, our first spell is to turn things red?" Draco drawled twirling his wand in his fingers. "Why didn't we learn this when we first came to school if it's so basic, sir?"
"It was removed from the curriculum and I told everyone it was a bad idea but they didn't listen." Flitwick explained. "Now we'll begin with our Theory first."
Harry and Hermione were the first ones to past everything with a good enough grade to move on.
Test O-100%, essay A- 100%, Notes D-100%.
He got to move on to casting the spell but he had to say it until he mastered it first. The program on their Wizlets kept track of levels much like his screens did. They actually matched up perfectly.
"Rubrum." Harry said, in a very low voice that he was sure no one could hear.
Latin-1
Rubrum Mastery- 1
"There's a Mastery system?" Hermione asked frowning at her Wizlet.
Harry shrugged and come muttering the spell over and over until he could say it easily and mastered saying it. Now he had to master the wand movement. This was easy just point and tap. This didn't take long either. Next came the hard part.
"HARRY!" Hermione cried tackling Lisa to the floor as fire engulfed the other girls chair.
"What happened, Miss. Granger?" Flitcwick cried, running over.
"The worst thing that could ever happen." Hermione cried as she and Lisa got to her feet. "Harry actively tried to channel his magic through his wand."
"I'm sorry." Harry said, to Lisa. "I have very little control over my magic."
"I can see that." Lisa cried a little shaken. "Do me a favor and point your wand that way."
Harry nodded having read her lips. The wall behind Hermione was empty so he faced it and held his wand. He watched the dog move to the other side of Hermione's chair. He rolled his eyes he wasn't that bad was he? Ugh this was going to take forever. It did take forever as in by the time he'd finally mastered channeling the proper magic into his wand Ron was being scolded for falling asleep in class for the fifth time and was given detention with Snape.
He faced the ribbon on the table in front of him and caught the wary looks from his desk mates as he cast the spell. They relaxed when he did it with no problem.
Rubrum-1
This got boring fast now that he could channel the right amount of magic this was going way easy. He was shocked when he got
Rubrum-25
You can now cast this spell non-verbally.
Flitwick made a huge fuss over Harry being the first one to reach the level to do non-verbal and gave Harry 5 points. He glanced at Hermione she didn't seem upset with him over it just smiled brightly and congratulated him.
Non-Verbal turned out to be very hard. Harry was soon read in the face and almost shaking with effort. He finally got it to work four times in a row just as he finished that Hermione began Non-Verbal she was soon in the same boat as he was.
By the end of class Harry was exhausted but he was sitting at
Rubrum-35
He was happy with the progress and so was Flitwick.
"Why?" He asked in their next class. "Just why?"
Dudley was laughing loudly. Harry was wearing a black leotard.
Hermione, in a pink leotard, explained why Ballet was a good thing for them to learn.
"I don't care if this helps me in a duel, 'Mione." he grabbed his throat wincing and pulled his wand out.
I hate it.
"I agree I really do and you'll hate it more when we begin." Hermione sighed. "Come on lets stretch out."
Harry and Hermione did gym stretches like the other Muggle-borns and Half-bloods from the Muggle World.
Class was hell and that was all those Muggle-brons, Half-bloods, and Ron had to say about it.
