Draco listened to the scratch of the quill for a while as he leaned against the door frame. He watched the witch curiously, desire sparkling his eyes as a smile crept upon his face. He wasn’t even certain she was aware of his presence, though he had little doubt she knew. He waited patiently for her acknowledgement and was happily greeted with sheer surprise as she glanced up and jumped.
“Draco! Wha… whe… I was just writing a letter to your father. I… What are you doing here?” the bushy haired witch asked hurriedly as she stood up.The blond wizard smirked as he pushed off the door frame and made his way to her. “I take it you’re sending your rsvp to my father’s luncheon for tomorrow? He’s very much looking forward to seeing you,” he said as he approached her desk and rested a hand upon the cherry wood. She looked positively rattled and he wasn’t sure if he should be pleased or upset by it. It certainly wasn’t entirely the reaction he had hoped from her. At the same time, he couldn’t entirely blame her.She sighed as she looked down at the letter on her desk. “It’s actually quite the opposite,” she told him. “While I…”“The opposite?” he interrupted. “You don’t intend to refuse the invitation, do you?”“Well…”“Hermione, it’s been a year now,” he huffed, standing straight and folding is arms. “We went through Hell together and you’ve been dodging this meeting for far too long.”Her eyes narrowed. “I would rather not relive those few months, Draco. They weren’t exactly…”“Weren’t exactly what? Pleasant?” he snapped. His smirk was gone as he frowned, though he kept his voice at an even tone. “While I will readily admit that there were a lot of experiences there that I hope to never reencounter, not all of them were bad. I would have assumed by your reactions during that time that even you had found enjoyment during that period. Or did the sight of five naked men every day truly appall you?”She opened her mouth to speak, but closed it again. Walking around the desk, she stepped in front of Draco and reached a hand up to touch his clothed chest. She did not meet his eyes, but focused her attention upon the black cloth under her fingers. “No one should be forced to live in a house with five other naked people for so long,” she murmured. His eyebrow twerked and she looked up at him, meeting his slightly confused expression. “Zabini is no longer an issue,” he said. “Nor will he ever be. In fact, he will be Kissed soon enough.”She shook her head and pushed away from him. Turning her back to him, she rested a hand on the desk while she let her other hand rest on her stomach. “That’s too generous of a punishment for what he’s done,” she whispered. He chuckled as he wrapped his arms around her waist. “How very Slytherin of you, my beautiful Gryffindor,” he joked as he pressed a kiss to her shoulder. He gently turned her around in his arms and used a finger to tilt her head up so she would look at him. “Surely you don’t mean to deprive Lucius for the sins of that ignorant Italian?”“I just… I’ve worked so hard to forget,” she told him. As he cupped her jaw, she leaned into his hand, her heavy lidded eyes basking in the feel of his strong hand.“Apparently, you’re not doing a very good job of it,” he teased. He glanced down and noticed that her waist had already begun to form a small bump. “Any idea of the sex yet?”She looked down and gently cradled the bump. “No. I wanted to wait until the birth, honestly.”He nodded. “And still no idea of the father, I take it?”She shrugged as she rested her head on his chest. “I have some guesses, but… What good would it do, honestly? No matter the father, I will neither marry nor settle. It wouldn’t be fair.”He lifted a single eyebrow and rested his chin on the top of her head. “I doubt anyone would care either way. If anything, the only thing anyone is truly concerned with is the legitimacy of the child. You have five men who would want to make sure the child could be reimbursed when it came time for inheritance when the time came. As well as carrying on the name.”Hermione scoffed and pushed away from him. “If the child were to belong to, say, Severus for example, do you honestly believe he wouldn’t name said child in his will as his sole heir? And that goes for all of you. Draco, marriage is not required anymore for a child to carry the name of his or her father. And carry the father’s name will be what this child does. Though, I’m not sure this entire thing can continue once the child is born. I wouldn’t want him or her to be given the wrong impression or somehow think this is ok or normal.”“And they won’t,” he assured her. He watched her cross the room to grab her cloak. “I implore you to be there tomorrow. Father has been wanting to see you. He misses you.”She nodded softly. “I miss him as well… I’ll… think about it.”(II) (II)It was well passed 5 o’clock in the evening when Hermione stepped up to the large door of Malfoy Manor. She remembered the house from when she and her friends had been imprisoned during the war and slightly dreaded her return to it. She took a deep breath and gave a wary smile. She knew things were different now. Bellatrix Lestrange was dead as well as Voldemort. Blaise Zabini was locked away in Azkaban awaiting a Dementor’s Kiss. Hermione and the men who had been confined in a house in the middle of Greece were now free and able to do whatever they pleased. She lifted a gloved hand and knocked on the door, listening to the echoing sound. She waited a moment before the large, heavy door opened silently. Her face brightened as she saw Sirius standing there. Her smile widened and became more natural. “Sirius,” she breathed. The man chuckled and pulled her in a hug as she looked up at him curiously. “Are you living here now?”He shrugged. “Might as well, right? Harry and Ginny have pretty much taken over Grimmauld Place and they’re getting married in a week.” He gave an agonizing sigh, but there was a twinkle in his eye that spoke of humor. “Can you imagine living in a house with two newlyweds? Talk about a nightmare!”The young witch giggled “Well, I suppose you could honestly say that it would be nothing you’ve never seen before.”She clamped her mouth shut, her eyes widening, as she couldn’t believe what she had just said. It was certainly a downer and could have incredibly ruined the moment if the Animagus hadn’t started laughing. “Too right, Hermione,” he said, opening the door wider so that she could enter. “I will be honest, Harry’s scrawny ass is not something I ever want to see naked.”She gave a soft chuckle at his comment, though she found little humor in it. She followed the man into the drawing room. This was a room she should have feared, but it was so vastly different than she had remembered. While the furnishings and walls still had dark, rich colors, there was a lightness to the room that hadn’t been there before.Dressed in his usual black robes, Lucius sat in a luxurious armchair by the fireplace, a glass of some dark brown liquid in his hand. Indeed, he definitely looked like a king in his castle, though to be honest, Hermione felt as though that was exactly what he was. The older wizard glanced up as the two people entered the room. Sirius happily changed back into a dog and moved to lie on the floor next to the wizard. Hermione did not miss the slight limp in Padfoot’s gait as he favored one of his front paws. It had been a year now and he was still working to getting used to the artificial appendage, but she could tell he was coping as best he could.“Hermione,” Lucius greeted as he placed his glass on the small table next to him and stood, “what a pleasant surprise to see you. I didn’t expect you to come.”The witch crossed the room easily and contently allowed the Slytherin to wrap her in his arms in a strong hug. “I’ve missed you, my darling,” he whispered into her hair.Hermione’s eyes closed at the feel of his warm breath tickling her ear. “And I you,” she admitted. She glanced up at him, still enfolded in his arms. “I almost didn’t come. The memory of what we went through is hardly something I wish to celebrate.”Looking down at her, the blond wizard dipped his head and pressed his lips against hers. The kiss did not last very long as he broke it to gently brush her hair off her cheek. “Do not see this as a celebration of nightmares,” he implored her.“Father, I can’t seem to find that book,” Draco was saying as he walked into the drawing room from a side door. He had been distracted, but looked up at he entered. He smirked when he saw the woman his father was holding. “Fancy seeing you here, Granger. Nice to know you accepted the invitation.” “We’re back to last names now, Malfoy?” she quipped back looking at the young blond as she leaned her head against Lucius’s chest.“Summoning Charms, Draco, are quite useful when looking for items we can’t find with our eyes,” Lucius pointed out in a rather irritated tone. He rubbed Hermione’s back as he enjoyed the feel of the petite woman against him.Hermione was perfectly content to stay right where she was and made no move to break his hold as Draco replied to his father, “I tried a Summoning Charm.”“Son of a bitch!” a deep, angry voice shouted causing all three to look towards the door Draco had just walked through. Sirius stood up and changed back into his human form.Severus walked into the room at that moment and threw the very book Draco had been looking for at the young pureblood. He had one hand pinching his nose as he pointed an accusing finger at his godson. “Keep those blasted things out of the laboratory! If one more of those bloody things hits me in the face trying to get to you, I swear I will put a permanent Sticking Charm on your arse and force you to wear it for the rest of your bloody life.”“Nose bleed, Severus?”“Watch it, Black!” the Potion’s Master growled.Draco snorted as he tried to hide his laughter. It did little good and the black haired Slytherin glared at him. This caused both Draco and Sirius to start laughing aloud.Hermione slipped her arms around Lucius’s waist and pulled him even tighter against her. Had it really been three months since they had last seen one another? She really did not want to let go of him, even as a little house elf came into the room to inform them all that their dinner was ready. He glanced down at the small witch against his chest, smiling at her antics to bury herself in him. Lucius ran his hands up her shoulders and down her arm length as he gently pulled her away from him. “It’s time to eat, my pet,” he told her lovingly.“I thought I was your pet?” Sirius commented, though his eyes glittered joyfully.“When you grow real boobs and a vagina, then you can be his pet,” Draco explained as he clapped the Animagus on the back. “Until then…”“Don’t be so crude, Draco,” his father reprimanded with a frown. The young blond tsked as he began walking towards the doors leading to the dining hall. He grabbed Hermione’s hand and pulled her away from the older man. “All this time, you’d think you’d learn that I’ll always be crude to some degree, thanks to Padfoot. Come, Hermione, you can sit next to me at the table.”(III)(III)Dinner was a rather pleasant affair. In fact, Hermione couldn’t remember having ever sampled such sublime food. She laughed as Sirius and Draco told her jokes and teased one another and others with various stories of sordid situations. She was even more pleased as Lucius and Severus engaged her in intellectual discussions about the Ministry and ongoings at Hogwarts – something Severus was none too pleased with.“So, my pet,” Lucius was saying between bites of filet mignon as he looked up at Hermione who was sitting to his left, “tell me, is there any particular reason for not coming to the Manor until this night?”Hermione took a bite of her steamed vegetables, chewing silently for a moment before swallowing, as she thought over his question. She chased the food down with a sip of her pumpkin juice. “The last time I was here, Bellatrix Lestrange was attempting to carve the foulest of words into my arm,” she told him honestly as she looked up to meet his silver eyes. “Just like I had little desire to come here tonight to celebrate a horrid event, I did not wish to bring up a painful memory that I had dreamed about for the last few years. However, given our new circumstances, I felt it prudent that I should conquer those nightmares, as you had so aptly called them and perhaps build newer, brighter memories. I don’t want my child to learn fear.”He lifted an eyebrow at her words. “You are not the only one with a permanent mark upon your arm to remind you of past horrors,” he told her. He placed his fork on his plate and pulled the sleeve of his left arm back to reveal his Dark Mark. It was a bit faded from age, but it no longer hid, nor did it hold any lingering danger. “And Sirius no long has a hand, pet. Something that he can never regain. Running from our pasts does little to soothe the present and nothing to prepare us for the future.”She nodded. Somehow the entire time they had been in that house, she never once focused any attention on the Marks on his or Severus’s arms. She then realized that she still did not know if Draco had one. Not that it mattered. They all bore scars from the war. She looked down at her plate and picked at the food upon it.Silence pervaded the dining table as they continued their meal, broken only by the soft sounds of muffled crunching and the tinkling of silver and glass. Unable to bear it anymore, Sirius sighed loudly enough to draw attention to himself.“The food is great, Lucius. Remind me to thank the elves later on,” he commented before draining the last of his wine. “Has anyone spoken or seen Remus? I’d hoped he be here tonight.”“He brought his son to the theatre tonight,” Severus replied, wiping his mouth with his napkin. “Some Muggle show is playing that he wanted the boy to see… eh… Peter Pan, I think it was. He should be by tomorrow, however, to pick up his potion.”Hermione gave a soft smile at that. “I am so glad he’s opened up to spending more time with Teddy,” she said as she cut a bit of her steak. “If there’s any good that has come of our imprisonment…”“There’s a lot of good that came from it,” Draco cut in, looking at her through narrowed eyes. “And it’s time you’ve started admitting to it. Were it not for the time we spent in that house, Severus and Sirius would still be hermitic and you would be buried in your books.”“She’s still buried in her books,” the Animagus pointed out. “The only difference is, now she allows us to distract her from time to time.”There was some talk as they continued the rest of their meal, though most of it was idle chatter. They retired back to the drawing room once they were all full. Lucius poured a glass of apple juice for Hermione and handed it to her. He took his time unstopping a decanter of brandy and then poured the drink into crystal snifters and handed them to the other men before pouring one for himself. Once he was done, he settled himself into his chair, holding out a hand to the young witch.Smiling, Hermione placed her small hand into his and allowed him to pull her onto his lap. Sirius drained his snifter in one long pull before changing into a dog and lying on the floor at Lucius’s feet. Both Draco and Severus joined the three, taking up the remaining chairs in front of the fireplace.Hermione closed her eyes at the comforting companionship she found among the men. She leaned back against Lucius as she enjoyed the feel of the warm fire and his hand rubbing her belly.“The baby’s grown,” he purred softly in her ear.She gave a soft smile. “Yes, Sam has.”“Sam?” Draco asked haughtily. His nose wrinkled at the common name. She gave a soft giggle and opened her eyes to look at him. “It’s a perfectly gender neutral name to call the child until we know the sex,” she argued. “I don’t intend to keep the name.”“Have you given thought to what you plan to name… Sam?” Lucius asked as he swirled his drink a bit.She shrugged. “I’ve thought of various names, but none of them seem quite right,” she told him. “To be perfectly honest, both of Sam’s parents have rather unusual names and I’d rather keep the tradition.”Lucius tilted his head curiously. “And you know who the father is?” he questioned and the men looked at her. Even Padfoot rose his head curiously.Hermione shook her head. “We won’t know until the baby comes,” she told them. “I’ve tried countless calculations, but…” She sighed and closed her eyes, leaning her head back on his shoulder. “I feel like a wanton slag when I think of it.”Lucius straightened up at that and took her drink from her. He placed both of their drinks on the table next to his chair. Hermione sat up and watched him curiously as Draco and Severus narrowed angry eyes at her.“Look at me, Hermione,” the eldest of the wizards commanded, his own glare directed at her.Surprised by this sudden change, she stared into his silver eyes and waited for a reprimand for what, she did not know. He pulled her more firmly onto his lap as she tried to stand and held her in place. He spoke softly, though she could hear the anger in his voice, “Do not ever let me hear you refer to yourself in such a way. You have gone through much and continue to do so. You were incarcerated with five men and practically forced to bed them all. The only relief you found was in your ability to care and even love, though none of us asked or expected it of you. We are all survivors of that house. Since we’ve returned to reality, we’ve all tried to make things normal and it hasn’t been easy. I can barely look at my son without the burning image of what he and I had done in my mind. Does that make me an incestual fiend? I think not. And I can honestly say that none of us have become gay, yet we still bugger one another from time to time. It’s not an easy road to recovery that we’re on and I doubt we’ll ever fully recover. But we’re together. All six of us. And we are working to make things as comfortable as we possibly can. Belittle yourself, and you belittle us all as a whole. What we do now may not be right, but we’re still surviving.”“You’re not the only one who suffered, Miss Granger,” Severus said over his glass.Hermione closed her eyes in shame. If Severus was using her formal name, then it meant she had hit a nerve. She had never been on the receiving end of one of Lucius’s reprimands, and she hated the feeling. “I’m sorry,” she whispered. “I don’t know what made me say it.”“I do,” Draco piped angrily in his glass. “I saw Weaselbee leave your office the other day. No doubt he was trying to convince you to marry him again and you refused. Again.”Padfoot gave a soft growl at this and changed back into a man, though he remained on the floor. “One day I’m going to hex that fucker’s balls off for him,” he snapped. “I’ve always liked Ron, but sometimes he can be a right pain in my arse.”Lucius gave a short nod and cupped Hermione’s jawline, effectively drawing her attention back to him. He ran his thumb across her cheek. “Never, my pet,” he said to her. “Never say it again. Do you hear me?”Tears fell down her eyes and he wiped them away as she silently nodded. He kept eye contact with her as he continued, “I want you to move into the Manor, my love. Staying in that little flat of yours will do little good once the child is born. Little Sam needs a permanent place of residence and a stable home. Somewhere safe. Padfoot and Draco are already here and soon Severus will be moving in as well. I would also like to try and convince Remus to move here.”“He’ll never agree to it,” she told him. “He has Teddy and Andromeda to look after and he can’t afford…”Lucius nodded. “I know, pet. I know. Eventually, then, perhaps. Once Teddy begins going to school, but he will come. But you need to be here. I’ll give you a week to pack your belongings.”She took a deep breath. For months he had asked her to move into the Manor with him. For months, she had denied him. But he was right. In so many ways, he was right. She nodded quietly, finally giving in to the wizard.“Yes?” he prodded.“Yes. I will be here by the end of the week.”An odd sense of relief had settled amongst them as Lucius leaned back in his chair again, letting Hermione rest against him again. As she began to drift off to sleep in Lucius’s arms, Hermione’s last sight was that of Sirius unzipping Draco’s fly and pulling the young Malfoy’s cock out to suck on it. Yes, life for them had changed. Things weren't as to be expected. But the witch could feel and see the beginning of forever with these men and for once, Hermione mused, things felt completely normal.Author's Note: Again, I would like to thank all my readers for bearing with me through this incredible journey I would also like to thank the beta readers who had helped me to edit parts of this story throughout.
It's been amazing and it's sad to see it come to an end, but I do hope I've left you all with a sense of contentment and hope. Before anyone asks, I will not reveal the father of "Sam", though I will say it is one of the five. I'll let you draw your own conclusions to that part. Will Remus join the Manor? That is another thing I will leave up to you to decide on your own.
Thank you again and I hope all of you have enjoyed my story. Blessed Be.
