Chapter 40 – Epilogue, Part 2
True to Draco’s word, Harry, Ginny, Ron and Hermione came to Malfoy Manor via Floo within the next hour. Ashleigh was beyond surprised that they all had apparently been on Draco’s potion as well. She had seen Harry and Ginny before of course when they had visited her in the States so that she would know that she had some living relatives. She hadn’t realized at the time that they had both been wearing a glamour to age themselves properly. She had always wondered why they never had any children of their own until now.
Likewise, Ron and Hermione had taken the potion as well and had never had any children. It seemed that neither couple wanted to start a family any time soon after she had made her abrupt departure. By the time they had decided a family could be in the future, Draco had completed the production of his anti-aging potion and had offered it to them.
Seeing as Ashleigh was Harry’s only living family, and the fact that he had been able to spend almost a year with her at the same age, Harry and Ginny decided that a family could wait until her return. They wanted to continue to grow up with Ashleigh so that Harry could have as much time with her as possible. Plus, it gave them an extra forty years of life together.
Of course, after Harry and Ginny decided to take the potion, Ron and Hermione were right behind them. There was no way that they would abort Harry on this last adventure.
The only problem they really encountered was Molly Weasley. She was not happy that her youngest son and her only daughter would not be giving her grandchildren for at least another forty years. They assured her that she would be getting at least two from each of them when the time came and that most likely, there would be no other babies in the family at the time which seemed to appease her.
All of them, with the exception of Draco, used a glamour to hide the fact that they hadn’t aged in the last forty years, which brought Ashleigh to her next question.
“Aren’t people going to notice when the four of you suddenly look like you’re in your twenties again?”
“Well, we figured out a way to make the glamour permanent to anyone who doesn’t know our secret. Kind of like the Fidelius charm except we are our own Secret Keepers. So obviously the rest of our family knows.”
“But wouldn’t they want to use the potion as well? It would appeal to many, but it is very dangerous. We wouldn’t want anyone else to become immortal; I think we’ve all had enough of some crazy arse trying to rule the world.”
“Which is why, after today, this potion will never see the light of day again.” Draco said with certainty.
“I’ve already destroyed all of my notes on how to make it as well as what I had in store.” He continued, as he pulled Ashleigh into his arms.

22 Years Later
“Dad, this wedding is driving me INSANE!”
“Scorpius, quiet down. Soon enough it will be your turn to get married and the preparations will drive you twice as mad, especially if you let your sister’s wedding effect you so.”
“Really Draco, is that how you felt about our wedding?” Ashleigh asked him as she walked into Draco’s study and made herself comfortable on his lap.
“Not at all Sweetheart. Best day of my life.”
Ashleigh smiled at him and bent to kiss her husband of 22 years. She and Draco had gotten married October 15 the year she returned. It was the anniversary of the day they met for the first time. It was a small ceremony as far as Malfoy’s were concerned with only 250 people in attendance. It was more than Ashleigh had wanted but the Wizarding population is known for taking things personal if they were not invited to a friends’ wedding and they certainly knew how to hold grudges. Ashleigh decided to bite the bullet rather than deal with the ire of 200 people.
The wedding came as a surprise to most everyone considering she had been Draco’s student and had been the victim of a time travel accident and had been gone for nearly a year. Most of the Wizarding population that did not know what really happened was convinced that they had a relationship for the month and a half that she had actually attended Hogwarts. The close minded members of the Wizarding community had issues with Draco teaching their children for some time until Ashleigh took post at Hogwarts the following year as the school healer. She took an accelerated course at St. Mungos and along with her photographic memory, was able to obtain her certificate in less than a year’s time. The parents of the students seemed profoundly happier that the Potions Master’s wife would be living in the castle. As if he would actually seduce a student! However, they both retired from their positions just before Ashleigh gave birth to their second child.
Presently, their eldest daughter Sarin was preparing to wed Harry and Ginny’s son James. Sarin and James have been best friends since the day Sarin was born. They were a mere four months apart and had started Hogwarts together. Sarin, being a Malfoy, was of course sorted into Slytherin like her parents while James took after his and was sorted into Gryffindor.
Draco and Ashleigh as well as Harry and Ginny were extremely grateful that house rivalries were no longer what they used to be. There were still the occasional riffs between the houses but there was no longer the outright hatred between Slytherin and Gryffindor as there once was.
Scorpius came two years after Sarin and he as well was sorted into Slytherin. He was currently in the process of completing his final year at Hogwarts. He’d been given permission to apparate home after his classes had finished so he could attend his sister’s wedding which was the following day.
Scorpius was very much like his father. An exact replica she’d say, although some days Draco definitely thought otherwise. She had been sure that when Scorpius had come home last break and told them that he was in a relationship with Soleil Longbottom that Draco would blow a gasket. Not only was she Neville Longbottoms grandchild, she was also a Gryffindor.
Draco, however, surprised them all when he gave his son a pat on the back and asked him to bring the girl over for dinner. This was unexpected because a Malfoy dating someone who was not a Pureblood Slytherin had never been done or even tolerated before. Well, at least before Ashleigh knew of her lineage anyway. She just lucked out on both accounts.
Mira, their third child, came four years after Scorpius. Ashleigh liked to refer to her as her Miracle Baby. Draco dislikes the name because of the reason Ashleigh gave her this nick name. Mira was the first Malfoy ever to be sorted into a house other than Slytherin. It turned out that Ravenclaw would be the second house in history to gain a Malfoy as a student.
Draco was upset for about five minutes before he realized that it could have been much worse, she could have been placed in Hufflepuff. When he had stated this, Ashleigh threatened that he had better not call them Duffers again. Draco looked rightly admonished.
All of their children except for Mira had the signature Malfoy hair. Mira had inherited Ashleigh’s raven hair. Both of the girls had Ashleigh’s eyes and Scorpius got Draco’s. They made a striking trio in their yearly portrait.
“Scorpius, you should get to bed. The wedding is a noon tomorrow and you need to be well rested. And don’t forget to congratulate your sister tomorrow, I know how you are about sharing your feelings but the occasion calls for it.”
“Yes mother.” Scorpius replied as he stood to leave. He bid his parents a good night and left the room.
“So, best day of your life huh?” Ashleigh asked, as she bent for a kiss.
“Hands down.” Draco murmured against her lips
“What about you? What was the best day of your life?”
Ashleigh rested her head against his shoulder and thought about his question for a moment.
“I don’t think I could choose just one, although, our wedding day does make the top five.”
Draco looked at her incredulously.
Ashleigh smiled and continued.
“We do have three children to account for.” She said laughingly.
“And number five?”
“The day you asked me to the Yule Ball.”
“Why that day? I can think of so many more days that were completely and utterly satisfying.” Draco told her as he nuzzled her neck.
“Because that was the day that started us on the path that we are on now. Without that day, we wouldn’t have what we do now. Fate had the crazy idea to make you wait fifty years for me but in the end, it was just a matter of time.”
