Last Time:
There will be many nightmares awaiting Konoha. This time Naruto could sit back as Severus returned the favor …

Sasuke raised an eyebrow as he read the instructions on their mission assignment, “Yep. This is the place is pretty fancy-“
“Father?” Shino gasped and every one of his teammates turned to see what he was looking at. Sure enough, the head of the Aburame clan and a couple other members were spotted inside the very hotel that they had a mission in. “I should speak with him.”
Kakashi nodded, “Yeah, he should know we’re in the area.” He said professionally, but he was squealing in excitement internally. If the people tracking Naruto were here then maybe there is something in the area that will lead them to him.
“Don’t overthink it.” Itachi warned. He knew what Kakashi must be thinking and hoped his friend won’t be disappointed again.
Sasuke frowned when all the Aburames started coming towards them, “”What’s going on?”
Shibi held out his hand, “Can I see your mission scroll?” He asked and Sasuke immediately handed it over. “This is going to sound strange, but we’re your client.”
Hinata blinked, “Why do you seem surprised by that? You made the request, right?”
“Yes and no. Follow me.” Shibi ordered and they all relocated into the forest where they found a campsite. “We have found-“
“Ino? Hinata?!” Sasuke yelped and everyone turned to see both girls out cold on the ground.
Kakashi went to check their vitals, “They’re asleep, but otherwise ok. What-“
“They’ll wake up once this conversation is done.” Shibi said calmly and gestured for everyone to sit. “We found Naruto and there’s much more to him leaving than you think.”
Flashback
“Look out!”
The three Aburames didn’t waste any possible lead for 7 months now. Every sign of Naruto or simply a demon vessel was investigated. Unfortunately, that’s where they made their mistake. While they successfully found a demon vessel it was definitely not Naruto.
Shibi paled when a massive arm of sand from a giant raccoon demon suddenly grabbed his fellow insect user. In any second Muta was going to be crushed. He unleashed his entire hive to drain as much chakra as possible. However, the shifting sand made it difficult for his insects to latch on. None of his other weapons worked either.
Before anything happened a flash of red collided with the arm. The immense force effectively shattered it. Besides his clan member being freed, Shibi noticed who saved him. It was one of the bounty hunting team called the Mages and he was covered in red demonic energy.
“You talk to them! I’ll handle this guy!” The red Mage yelled before quickly focusing back on the giant rampaging raccoon, who had a sleeping red haired human sticking out of its head.
“Always taking the fun for himself.” Shibi looked over and saw the second member of the bounty hunter team. “I’m guessing it’s clear where Naruto is, right?” He asked and the three Aburames simply looked at the Mage coated in red, almost fox shaped, energy. “I’m Harry Potter. We never met, but I was a friend of Naruto’s a couple years before he left the village … I was part of the reason he left in the first-“
“I made my own decision dammit!” Naruto snapped so loudly that he could be heard even in the middle of fighting a fair distance away.
Harry snorted, “Whatever. I’m just glad our friend did check your minds. He couldn’t maintain a link because of your insects, but he did learn enough to know what you guys were doing and we got here in time. Excuse me if I don’t remove my disguise. I know you're trustworthy, but Hiruzen is not.” He said as Naruto woke up the redhead in the sand making the vicious demon raccoon dissolve away.
The entire story was told as the scared redhead was comforted and healed. As a bonus, the way they told the story was very interesting…
Flashback End
The four conscious members of team 7 blinked and then their jaws hit the ground, “Naruto was part of the Mages this entire time!” They all exclaimed in shock. Every single time they met the bounty hunter team suddenly flashed through their minds.
Shino blushed and looked a bit shaken, “Father … Please tell me you're joking about that.”
Shibi gave a short, yet amused, laugh, “I’m sorry, but Naruto is aware about the engagement. That isn’t the point though.”
“I agree.” Kakashi commented, ignoring the fact a sheepish Sasuke was hiding behind Itachi to stay a safe distance away from Shino. After all, he was technically the one who blabbed about the secret engagement and his friend might want to get a little payback. “What did this Harry person mean about the hokage being untrustworthy?”
Shibi took a moment to consider where to start, “Do you all remember the ramen chefs who ran Ichiraku?”
“Yeah.” Itachi said and tried to recall exactly what happened. “They went bankrupt and left Konoha, right?”
Muta Aburame shook his head, “Naruto and Harry have been training together for a year at that point and slowly building their Mage personas at that time. When Naruto noticed the kind chefs were acting strange they investigated.” He explained as he pulled out some documents and handed them over so Kakashi and Itachi could look at them.
Just when Itachi’s mouth opened to say something, Shibi raised his hand to stop him, “Naruto only showed us duplicates of the paperwork that showed the suspicious increase in fees. If the ramen chefs wanted to keep their ramen stand they had to pay 10 times the usual fees. According to Naruto the paperwork he saw proved that the fees have been slowly increasing for years and it was becoming a problem, but Naruto doesn’t believe that the real proof exists. In any other circumstance I’d be less likely to believe this story, but knowing that Naruto was well trained makes it more believable.”
“They were being forced out … and he thinks the hokage was behind it.” Itachi concluded as he skimmed the copies of documents, which included shocking banking information that showed that someone was stealing from the Namikaze accounts.
“He knows it and after thinking about it things do make sense.” Shibi commented and sighed. “In order to help Teuchi pay the bills they rushed into a job. Naruto was badly injured, but their ally and eventual second sensei saved them.”
“Second?” Kakashi murmured and several things clinked in his. “If Harry was training with Naruto, who trained Naruto in the first place?” He asked, knowing it had to be someone very skilled to hide training Naruto in a ninja village.
To team 7’s surprise the three older Aburames seemed to all twitch in annoyance. It was clear they weren’t fond of the topic. However, after a minute Shibi sighed again.
“The first sensei was tied to Naruto at birth, but has found an annoying means of wandering outside of his cage.” The clan leader explained, but while that was enough for Itachi and Kakashi to get the picture Shino and Sasuke still looked a bit confused.
Itachi sighed and ruffled his younger brother’s hair, “It’s not a big deal. I’ll explain later.” He said, honestly not concerned about how Shino and Sasuke will react to learning about Naruto’s demon vessel status.
“This ability to leave its cage … it’s not harmful to Naruto, right?” Kakashi asked the clan leader. He couldn’t help but feel worried for Naruto even though Shibi seemed pretty calm about the matter.
“Only an annoyance.” Shibi answered briskly. “As for the second sensei, who saved Naruto … they told him why they took that and he was also suspicious. He made Harry take him to the ramen chefs. Before they even reached the gates they found a band of ninjas dragging Teuchi and his daughter out of the village. The sensei butchered the ninjas and took the ramen chefs to a place … that’s at least safe for them.” Shibi said
with great care.
Kakashi’s eye widened, “I remember an incident around that exact time where a team of anbu were killed, but … it can’t be.”
Shibi nodded slowly, “Orochimaru.” He said and the two Aburames behind him gestured for the others to calm down, which wasn’t easy. “I know! Until I saw it I didn’t believe it myself, but doesn’t it make sense? The ramen chefs ‘left’ the exact night a team of Leaf ninjas were killed. If Hiruzen was behind it then of course he wouldn’t be surprised when Orochimaru intervened. He’d just erase the evidence that put the ramen chefs with his ninjas and say they left on their own accord. On top of that, what better way to give Konoha and Hiruzen the metaphorical middle finger than to protect the chefs and train Naruto and Harry so Konoha wouldn’t have a chance in getting their weapon back?”
In an oddly vindictive way it made a lot of sense. Even Itachi and Kakashi believed that Orochimaru really only despised the hokage. However, there seemed to be even more questions after this reveal.
“Shibi.” Itachi said softly and his sharp black eyes locked with the insect user’s. “You said you saw it … you mentioned earlier something about skimming minds. Neither the fox nor Orochimaru can do that so who else is involved here?”
“As hard as it is to believe they put their memories in a bowl and we watched it … pull out your mission scroll.” He instructed and the scroll was brought out. “Harry is related to people who have a different power and he was invited back. Naruto knew Harry, an orphan a year younger than him, would be going to a place neither knew anything about and he left to help him. I asked them to prove this world existed by getting you guys a scroll with these exact details and without an approval mark.” He commented as he opened the scroll and pointed out that there wasn’t a rank or mark.
Itachi raised an eyebrow, “I don’t even notice … it’s like someone just dropped it on the desk and walked away.” He commented and looked at Sasuke, who was the one to select the scroll. Then his eyes went to Ino and Hinata. “Did Harry and Naruto’s ally do this to add more proof and what world is being proven?” He asked while pointing at the unconscious girls.
“Magic.” Shibi said bluntly, pleased to see he didn’t see amusement in their eyes. “Harry came from a wizarding world. Naruto helped him and that turned out to be very lucky for Harry. Now a wizard with strong powers of the mind is helping Naruto.”
Kakashi blinked, “Helping with what?”
“Helping with finding and contacting those who are trustworthy.” Shibi explained and then he glanced at the two girls. “While also avoiding those who aren’t and providing nightmares for some. I don’t know why, but don’t say too much about Naruto around them.”
Sasuke scoffed, “I get that. They would probably blab to their parents and that’d go straight to the hokage.” He muttered and both of his senseis groaned in annoyance. Neither Hinata or Ino might care, but they were too loyal to their family or too eager to blab.
“Yeah.” Kakashi murmured thoughtfully. “Why would the hokage target two ramen chefs in the first place? Does Naruto want us to dig up evidence?” He asked, suddenly very interested in seeing what they could find.
Shibi adjusted his sunglasses, “Naruto believes he simply put Ayame and Teuchi in danger because they were kind and he trusted them. The hokage probably didn’t like that his weapon cared more about the ramen chefs than him and no. He’s the hokage so it’s unlikely we’ll be able to skulk around and find the evidence we need. We need a means of casting suspicions on him and evidence on fresh crimes.” The clan head commented, but then smirked. “Perhaps a friend of Naruto’s can conjure up something for us.”
Each of the ninjas smirked and were happy to accept help from a magical friend. Right after that agreement was made the scroll suddenly opened up and the words began rearranging themselves. The brand new message was from a man named Severus Snape and he started listing people who could be brought in the loop. One was Ibiki and another, despite thinking he was a little foolish at first, was Iruka. Over time that list grew a little, but also changed in another way. Another loop of sorts was eventually formed the more they met up with Naruto and Harry. It was a far more intimate loop …

Hiruzen suddenly looked up from his desk. He had a very uneasy feeling, but he couldn’t figure out why. Moments later he was cruelly reminded that he had a greasy lunch that didn’t agree with him so the uneasy feeling was chalked up to that.
However, even after that evil, but delicious, lunch passed by the uneasy feeling lingered. Soon the oddest things started happening. For one, his perverted former student, Jiraiya, started writing a book series involving gay men. That alone wasn’t too strange. It was annoying because it took a great deal of time away from his favorite hentai series, but otherwise it wasn’t a big deal. What really bothered him was that both his old students, Jiraiya and Tsunade, started lingering in or near the village. They would casually bring Naruto up more and more with each passing month. It was getting more and more difficult to avoid the subject, especially after his many villagers started running around looking pale and frightened. Apparently, they were all plagued with horrid nightmares. Whatever they saw made them beg Jiraiya and Tsunade for forgiveness because they were the reason Naruto left.
Thankfully, no one went into detail. They just seemed too freaked out to do so, which was both good and bad for Hiruzen. Good, because no one mentioned that he was the one who hinted that the demon needed to be controlled through beatings. Bad, because it made Tsunade and Jiraiya more determined to bug him until more sources were put into finding Naruto.
Just when he considered claiming Naruto was dead to get them off his back the late night parties started. Not just any parties either. The music and lights were all coming from the long locked up Namikaze compound …
