Leo's patience was wearing thin indeed.
The constant pain was a continuous grating on his nerves.
He walked the dungeons unseen beneath his invisibility cloak. The Dark Lord Leo unleashed his power and grinned.
The night deepened, and the shadows lengthened. He avoided the lantern of Filch and the Lumos spells of the prefects.
He clutched his wand in his hand. He ducked behind a statue and closed his eyes.
Even this small amount of freedom was so freeing. His green eyes opened.
The feeling of dark arts... A mere whisper, and he slowly strode his way towards it.
A prefect's badge glittered in the light of her light spell as she looked around. She was a Slytherin, and she shivered.
She felt him as he hugged a wall beneath his cloak. "Someone there?" Leo rolled his eyes. Oh yes! Cause he was just going to reveal himself. Completely disregard his secrecy like a Troll.
If she even as so much pointed her wand in his direction, he would make sure she would regret it!
She shrugged and continued on her rounds. Leo followed the whispers of that mere delving of dark arts.
As he came upon the dungeon door to a classroom. It was the sixth-year potion classroom!
"Interesting!" Leo whispered to himself. He dared not to be too loud.
He was in enemy territory! Slytherin!
The dungeons had always been theirs! Leo took a deep breath, and the dark swirled around him as he gathered it.
"Alohomora!" From his wand came a surge of blackness, and for a moment, the magic keeping the door lock struggled against his unlocking charm... Then it failed and with a hushed click.
The door swung open, and Leo closed the door behind himself.
Stepping any where which felt like Professor Snape was decidedly unpleasant. A gray bastard, neither light nor dark, a thoroughly unpleasant individual
Leo grimaced as he looked around, and he closed his eyes and focused.
He cautiously stepped towards a cabinet there, and he hesitantly opened it. A collection of old potion textbooks. He could, however, feel one was different from the others.
Touched by the dark arts. Someone had dabbled and left their darkness upon it! Most Unwise!
He took the textbook and held onto it with one hand. He sighed, As he looked towards the locked ingredients closet.
It was a glorified broom closet and powerfully warded by that git Severus Snape.
He trod to it. No doubt that git would discover his theft before too long.
He had always been an annoyance, but Leo was willing to let him be. He had enough people to kill without looking for more!
He already had to plan it out to have that toady cunt to be subjected to a dementor's kiss!
Dumbledore to Avada Kedavra!
He rolled his eyes. If he genuinely had to kill everyone who had annoyed him, it was likely he'd never have time to do more important things!
Voldermort was immortal... but was it worth researching? Like what was he going to do? To follow Voldy's footsteps?
No! Leo would make his own path!
Yes! The thought pleased Leo.
The fact that he returned by his minion's hand was proof enough.
Leo frowned; he hadn't really thought about it. He had time to be ambitious!
Whatever Voldy was planning why. Whatever it was... wasn't the same goal as himself!
Leo wasn't just going to be a dark lord. No... No!
He supposed the power already at his disposal could be considered enough.
The Dark Lord Leo snapped his finger when it came to him.
There were already numerous dark lords throughout history. Lord Voldermort was the number one dark lord of history.
Well, if one had to be a dark lord. He might as well go for the greatest of all!
The merest thought pleased him, and then he shook himself. He had something to accomplish; He had to focus.
For Wiggenweld Potion! Leo recalled his needed ten lionfish spines, salamander blood, and other ingredients.
Leo breathed, and the darkness around him gathered in a torrent. Eagerly. He could use the unlocking charm again, or he could try something else...
Leo reached out with his power. The darkness whispered so sweetly to him.
He smiled. He could touch others... But could he use the darkness? To bypass the wand?
... Perhaps.
The darkness within the classroom trembled as Leo reached out. Leo closed his eyes.
The shadows coalesced slowly as he focused. He could throw Barty about. Surely he could more than that?
Hm...
Leo breathed in and out softly. The closet door groaned and trembled as Leo put his power against it.
The protection spells protecting keeping the door seal shut. The door.
The doorframe rattled, and the door trembled. Leo beamed; it was neither quick nor flashy.
The lock fractured with a lurch, but the door would not budge!
Leo frowned. He would have to practice more to strengthen this power.
His patience was lost. He placed the textbook in a bag. There was more than one way to undo a spell, after all. Allow it to lapse on its own. Counter-Spell it or use a negative counter-effect!
"Finite Incantatem!" The protective wards holding the doors unraveled.
It swung open with a whine. "Reparo!" He would leave no trace of him being here!
The lock and the door itself returned to their normal position as the door frame righted itself.
He stepped inside.
"Finite Incantatem! He waved his wand with the correct flourish! He pointed at the potion ingredients.
Leo would put nothing past that dreary old fellow. But a curse on a potion ingredient?...
That gave him an idea... Something to follow up for sure.
A spell unraveled with a flash of light! Leo had been correct!
"You aren't that smart, you old codger!" Leo crowed, and then he carefully took what he needed. He was careful that he didn't touch anything he didn't intend to take with him.
With his nicking mission a resounding success! he closed the potion ingredient door with a sleeve over his hand.
Just in case. No one would ever accuse him of stupidity! He might not be the brightest witch of his age like Hermione.
Harry had outsmarted her before.
And with a crack and he back in his lair. Courtesy of his house-elves.
Leo allowed his house elves to fret over him for a time. It was peaceful, calming that others actually cared about him!
Someone had cleared away the mounds of bones of the basilisks had amassed.
He suspected Kreacher.
The chamber of secrets was quickly becoming liveable!
He thanked his truly commendable servants and looked them over before he quickly ate and
Approached his cauldron.
"One Wiggenweld Potion coming up!" Leo exclaimed, and then he started eagerly. He wished to be free of the nagging pain.
He added salamander blood to the cauldron and the preparation base he had prepared.
He stirred until the mixture turned orange. He then carefully added some more until it turned to its yellow stage. He consulted his potion book.
He refused to make a mistake in the process and spoil his work. He really would outright murder someone if that was the case!
He was glad that his potion turned green. Adding more admixture, he waited till it turned turquoise. From there, we increased the heat of the cauldron until his mixture turned indigo.
Leo beamed so far, so good!
His potion turned pink with another addition of the blood, and then he added five spines of the lionfish. Slowly his potion turned yellow, and he added the rest of the spines.
And with the addition of the flobberworm mucus, it turned purple. Leo was ecstatic more than halfway through! He stirred his mixture till it turned red and added more slime.
Then it turned orange. Then yellow came the color change. With the addition of honey water, it reverted to turquoise.
And dripped a few drops of boom berry juice and let it simmer for thirty minutes.
He took the cauldron away from the flame and allowed it to cool.
His pains were nearly at an end.
Leo stretched as he stepped away from his potion.
Leo desired to break something. There were variations of spells he wanted to try.
Specifically, one he'd been glad to try. "Fiendfyre!"
His necklace shuddered. "Tisk! Tisk!" He chided
"You need not fear me... Unless... Are you being disloyal, Tommy?" Leo asked, and the necklace shuddered before stilled.
"Oh, don't worry, it's not for you."
Leo aimed at the end of the massive snake skeleton.
" Maleficus Infernum!" Leo smiled as he pointed his wand. His wand bucked as an inferno of flame raged over the skeleton.
"Oh, Wow. That's hot!" Leo gawked as he kept the curse under a tight leash, and it died at once. It had consumed the bones wholesale. What power!
Leo smiled. He'd keep the skull at least.
It would make a memorable throne! And he smiled in his triumph.
Leo made his way back towards his potion. He carefully poured his potion into vials that he stoppered.
He picked up the last vial and drank it down. He had endured pain the whole day!
Leo smiled as the ache melted away. Relief! At long last!
He felt immeasurably better. His mind cleared, just in time for quidditch!
"Huzzah!"
One problem down... And one more to do.
He needed to talk to dear old Lucius. Draco's dear old pappy and the bastard who nearly killed him when he inadvertently freed Dobby.
That one.
One of Voldermort's Rejects!
What to do? What to do indeed! Leo had to wonder what use he had for Lucius.
Voldermort had shown him how beautiful Lucius was on his back in agony! That he was partial to the idea. Leo could admit...
Leo found a spot perfect for his meeting with Lucius. "Accio Skull"
Leo commanded with a flourish, and his summoning charm ripped the skull right off the massive corpse.
A picture-perfect throne. Part of him suspected that he had murdered Narcissa. Until he looked into all his separated memories as this suspicion.
Leo took his time to change his appearance. He made a mental note to find a way to either fix his eyes. Or give in to the curiosity of muggle medicine.
There had been a couple of adverts on the telly he had heard. Laser eye surgery!
Surely he could crush one of the few remainders of dearly imprisoned Harry!
That would have to be on the backburner as well. Leo cursed that he was so limited in what he could do...
For now...
He would remember to speed up his plans to depart Hogwarts!
Leo focused.
"Lucius, come here!" He commanded from his serpent skull perch as he sat upon its crown.
Leo smiled as the imperius curse remained strong upon Lucius. There was a delightful irony.
It is a delightful irony indeed that the one who escaped imprisonment by claiming to be under its effects was now actively under it.
Completely at his mercy! Leo may or may not have murdered his wife in cold blood. Lucius had no wand to defend himself.
Lucius swayed, and Leo pointed his wand at the clearly afflicted Malfoy elder.
Leo might wipe out an entire bloodline. Might not! Leo was ambivalent and was entirely up to Lucius whether Malfoy would survive!
If Narcissa's death had galvanized the purebloods. He wondered what the end of Lucius would do! Make them panic? Leo chuckled to himself.
Panic could serve him well, but it could also backfire tremendously. For now, the ministry had been content with denying his existence and covering up the results of his actions.
That could certainly change. It would probably be for the best to leave him alive, at least for now!
Depending all on how Lucius acted, of course. He did hope Lucius did nothing stupid.
Or perhaps... He could benefit from it.
Azkaban was his! Voldermort would take the fall for it, not him!
And he would absolutely murder Lucius there if he did end up there.
He wished to hear what the elder Malfoy had to say!
Leo lifted his curse, and it gave Leo a thrill to watch Lucius drop. Hitting the ground ignominiously before him.
"Winky, could you get me a glass of water and a sandwich." She nodded eagerly.
"Well, Well, It's so good to see you, Lucius!" Leo tapped his wand as he looked down upon the browbeaten elder.
He groaned and shakily got to his feet.
Winky carefully placed the glass of water and the food before Lucius and curtsied before she scurried off.
Leo took his time watching "Lucius. Eat, Drink but make no mistake, you will conduct niceties and thank Dear Winky for procuring you food and water."
"Winky is a good house-elf. A model servant in every way..."
"And then there's you." The Dark Lord Leo bade as he unleashed his power, and the darkness flooded the room.
And Lucius said nothing. Leo reached out, and Lucius rose off the floor.
Leo frowned. "Voldy did a number on you. Hm..."
Granted, he did break a guy with Crucio... Prolonged and repeated usage clearly damaged the poor bastard.
The shadow tendrils dropped Lucius.
Leo sighed. It was a good thing the imperius curse was his curse of choice!
"Imperio!" The darkness surged, and the shadows clung like grasping hands as his curse took hold.
His curse struck the Malfoy elder, and he jerked and twitched and then slowly uprose.
That grimace upon his face turned tranquil and serene. Lucius Malfoy was almost certainly irreversibly damaged.
Dance Puppet Dance! Leo chuckled.
Pain was a great motivator... And so it seemed was a pleasure, to not be in pain.
"Take off your clothes, Lucius," Leo smirked from the Basilisk skull throne.
Here was the head of the Malfoy name. In soiled clothes, the man stood tall and then proceeded to peel off his clothing.
"Throw them in front of you." Lucius obeyed, bundled them together, and threw them.
"Maleficus Infernum!" Leo lashed out with his wand and with a fiery roar. Acrid stench offended him, but the cursed flames dissipated.
Leo would never be careless enough to allow his accursed fire to grow out of his control!
He pointed to the basin of water behind him.
"Go bathe!" Leo tisked. The smell was offensive.
"Kreacher, Let Barty know I'm coming, so make sure the shop basement is ready!"
The old house-elf nodded with a crack and was gone.
Leo sighed; the night was young. Lucius couldn't remain here. The best place would be in Barty's care.
"Calvorio," Leo muttered, and a red line issued from his wand and pierced Lucius in his back. Leo would allow him the hair on his head.
Platinum blond hair fell off the older wizard as he stepped into the cold basin.
Leo got off his throne and looked upon his latest acquisition. His curse stripping from him that unkempt look as Lucius began to rinse himself.
Draco was going to get the shite kicked out of him for this! Leo was babysitting Draco's dad!
He searched his pockets of the brass knuckles. Oh good, it would be tragic if he lost them!
St. Mungos it was!
It would be a simple matter to get Draco to meet him on the quidditch patch.
The trick would be dealing with Draco's little gang. Greg and Goyle were close to being dealt with on their own. He could persuade them.
Blaise was the one who needed to be removed for the day.
If Leo wasn't of a benevolent disposition, he'd just kill them both and be done with it.
He took a breath and waited for Kreacher to return.
The shadows lengthened and the night outside the basement. grew deeper with a deceptively soft crack.
The shelves were surprisingly half stocked. He could only hope that things were going well. If Barty fucked up, there would be more than murder in mind.
Leo looked around. Tools of unknown function laid in boxes as were mannequins
Only a couple were covered in black leather. Leo waited for Barty's report!
Leo also wanted to see his pet. Oh, he planned one last visit to the Dursleys.
It would wait until he was sure they were broken. And while Petunia would suffer. Leo had no intention of giving Vernon such mercy.
Harry was weak, so close to love that he could not see the parasites that kept the wizarding world shackled... And worst of all.
It was wizardkind that created their own prison. Leo would find a way to set the prisoners free. The muggles had their time in the sun.
One day it would be magic's turn. Leo had chosen his side,
Muggles were the most significant threat, and perhaps they had always been... And always would be. Why should the wizarding world be confined and choked?
When it was the muggles who used atomic bombs? Weapons of incredible devastation!
Voldermort didn't even come close!
Leo was content to inspect his things.
His merchandise. Leo petted Lucius in his nakedness; he would find something appropriate for him to wear.
A toy should be pleasing to its master, after all. Lucius naked was, after all, the patrician couldn't be considered ugly. He held that pompous arrogance of nobility no matter how worse for wear he was.
He would bind Lucius as he would all his servants. The unbreakable vow for all of them. Draco would be bound so tightly.
He would not be betrayed by his servants. That was a weakness that Voldermort shared with Dumbledore.
Servants that betrayed. Leo had to wonder to himself...
Was there even truly a difference between a dark lord and one of light?
Music blasted through the doorway as Barty sauntered in with an eager smile.
"Hello, my lord!" Barty beamed, and in his hands was a led.
Crawling on all fours, wrapped in black.
Was what remained of Dudley.
The Dark Lord Leo smiled.
