hey guys, sorry about the long wait. This chapter is both from Harry�s point of view and Krai�s.

Serpensortia...Have no fear, I love constructive criticism. A I�ve said before I want to write a book and the feedback I get from this will really help me. It�s flames I hate. Glad you like the fic ^_^.

harrydraco4life...Nope not pregnant. Not yet anyway. The bond failed for some reason. It�s explained in this chapter but if it isn�t clear drop me a line and I�ll try and explain it.

Redneckmama...Hey, Harry was definitely rough but thats in his nature. He won't be as rough in the future though. Love the smut chapter of lies by the way. Can't wait for the next chapter.

LadyKind...No there aren�t many stories where Harry�s the dom, I can't really understand that as I think he makes such a good dom. But that might be just cos I love powerful Harry n it�d have to be really convincing if he were a sub when he�s that powerful. Having said that one of my favourite fics, Veela Inheritance Problems has Harry as a sub n he�s really powerful in that. Thanks for reviewing n sorry about the wait.

James...Sorry again about the long wait. Hopefully the next one will be much quicker, especially since I�ve had half of that chapter written since I started this fic. Lol.

Chapter 40: What Went Wrong?

�Oh Harry what did I do wrong?�

Those words had been haunting him for a week now. They should have both been enjoying their remaining time alone together. But instead they were worrying. And they had reason, their failed bonding had been explained but not enough in Harry�s opinion but it had. But they had even more to worry about now. They were back at Hogwarts just a few days before everyone else. Dumbledore�s compromise for allowing him to leave in the first place.

The original plan had been for Draco to rejoin him later, but with everything that had happened Harry would not allow it. Dumbledore knew about them he may pretend that he didn�t but he did. And if the other teachers wondered he didn�t care anymore.

As if they didn�t have enough to worry about. Well caring what the teachers thought was now relegated to the back of his mind. As long as they posed his mate no threat he didn�t care. They were sure none were deatheaters, after the Moody incident Dumbledore had ensured no other Deatheaters could get into the school in teaching positions. And it didn�t even matter if one of them told Voldemort. Because Harry wasn�t letting Draco go.

But this bond�the bonds failure was a mystery to him. Sev and Remus were sure that Harry must have some other bond. A bond that was already entrenched and therefore Draco�s couldn�t shake it. They�d analysed every aspect of his life. For it was Draco�s bond to him that had failed. He was firmly bonded to Draco. It was his mate left feeling unwanted and that hurt Harry more than the lack of bond.

Krai had explained the bond with Voldemort to him but there had never been any mention of that bond affecting any future bonds he might like to make. That was something he couldn�t understand. The others were so sure that Krai would have known that the bond with Voldemort would affect him. It was rare enough for a man to have one bond so strong but to have two, that was unheard of. Surely one would affect the other.

But he just couldn�t see Krai lying to him about that. He�d kept secrets in the past though, with held information. It was possible that Krai had lied but he didn�t like to think that. He and Krai had gotten on so much better since the snakes injury. They�d been as close as brothers the week before Christmas.

And now his mate�s dislike and the supporting belief of their Godfather�s kept Krai away from him. He was happy with his new mate of course; Silasi and he were hardly apart when Harry was able to see them. Which seemed to be relegated to whatever time he could sneak with them in the dorms.

Silasi was a beauty. A sweet snake, quite loving and devoted. Both of them were and he couldn�t imagine that Krai lied to him now, not when he denied it so vehemently. In the past he would say he could not answer but there was no such thing now. Just denial of any knowledge. And Harry did believe him.

But his refusal to consider Krai as a liar had caused a temporary rift between him and Draco. It had lasted a night before Krai urged him to go to his mate. Harry had always been a stubborn person, stuck in his ideals and his refusal to go to Draco had hurt him severely. Draco still believed Krai to be guilty and refused to consider any other option. And Harry was forced to go along with him. To pretend that he agreed with him. It didn�t matter to Draco if they spent time apart. Apart from the normal anguish at being separated from his mate he felt nothing, whereas Harry being bonded to Draco felt the separation like an open wound. All newly bonded couples had the same problem but luckily Draco didn�t feel the pain of their separation, or Harry would have given in much quicker than he had.

Harry was alone in the Common room when a visitor called. Several Gryffindors had remained over the holidays but luckily no one who would interrupt his solitude. He liked spending his nights with Krai and Silasi. Since he couldn�t spend them safely with Draco anyway, it was the best time to catch up with the two.

Speaking with Krai mind to mind drew the least attention, then his familiar would relay his words to his mate and she back to him. And so on. He�d been quietly talking with the two for an hour when Professor McGonagall showed up. She glanced around the room a little nervously for a moment before coming over to join him. Harry found this distinctly odd; he�d never seen Professor McGonagall look so uncomfortable.

She took out her wand and cast a high level anti-surveillance charm. Much like the one he used on Krai. Only stronger.

�Harry I wanted to warn you, he�s up to something I don�t know what but he has a plan.� She whispered urgently. Fearing a trap Harry decided to play safe and feign ignorance.

Her look turned patronising. �Don�t try that on me Mr Potter. I�ve worked here too long to not know the signs. You�re doing something; you�re obviously working against him. He doesn�t know for sure what you are doing but he does know��

�Why do you believe I am working against him?� he asked furiously, thinking he�d been careful.

McGonagall smiled grimly. �The very fact that you don�t have to ask who I�m talking about gives you away, Harry.�

He nodded. �Why are you warning me then?�

�Because your parents were my students. I watched him manipulate them and every other student that came to these halls. I�ve watched for years, saw those who rebelled be silenced, one way or another. Severus, Remus, they could have been so happy these years. He�d never have gone to the Dark Lord if that man hadn�t needed him there. Who else could play the role but Severus.� She muttered.

�He knows what you�ve been up to. The DA, your transformation, everything. He may not know the details, know your form but he knows enough to put down any rebellion you might start. What do you think happened to Mr Weasley and Miss Granger? Did you think they�d had a sudden change of heart?�

�No I know what happened, even the spell he used.�

�But what you don�t know is why this happened. Well I don�t either, all I know is Miss Granger started asking questions during her stay at Grimmauld place. And now the same has happened to Mr Weasley. Somehow Weasley managed to keep the information Dumbledore wanted away from him, I can only assume you did some spell with each other to ensure that.� He nodded and she carried on. �I�m warning you so you�ll be careful. Don�t let him find out what your animagus form is. It could help you.�

She got up to leave but Harry stopped her with another question.

�You were the one who put the animagus book on my book list, weren�t you?�

�Of course, I always do the book lists.�

�Why?�

�You need every advantage you can get.�

He thought over what she�d said for a while before heading down to dinner. Krai had gone hunting but Silasi remained behind.

Krai was heading back to his Master�s dorm. He had been hunting alone, his mate had stayed behind allowing him to think. It was surprising how quickly things could change.

Just last week things were going well. His Master and his Master�s mate were to be bonded and he was still trusted by Draco. Now both Draco and the Dark one who had healed him were wary of him. They even felt anger towards him, believing he could have kept something else secret, the something that had stopped the bonding.

They thought it was Harry�s connection to the Dark Lord but Krai knew it wasn�t. He had an idea what it really was but he didn't know for sure. Whatever it was it lay hidden in Harry�s memory, beneath the memory charm that the old one had placed upon his Master. He wasn�t sure what was hidden behind that block and the thoughts he had weren�t encouraging. What else could negate a bond but that which he thought?

He had reached the portrait hole so he settled down to wait. Dinner let out a few moments later and a few Gryffindor students came back to the common room. He slipped in unnoticed beside them and headed up the stairs to check on his mate.

He could taste the blood before he reached the second step, could smell it also. He heard footsteps behind him but couldn�t bring himself to move out of the student�s path. The student stopped beside him and he realised it was his Master.

�Krai you�re going to get trampled.�

He couldn�t bring himself to answer; with every step his Master took the smell got stronger. The slight pausing of his Master�s steps alerted him, Harry could smell it now too. With a trembling hand his Master pushed the door open and they both stared at the sight before them.

It looked like a tornado had hit it. Hangings and bedclothes were ripped, claw marks littered the fabric and a bloody trail led from beneath Harry�s bed to the centre of the room.

As Harry stepped forward and Krai�s mind caught up with what he saw, the only thought that came to his head was that He�d gotten the wrong one.

His Master crossed the room and went on his knees to lift the broken head of Krai�s mate. He laid her head back down gently; his attention was then caught by the blood on his fingers as a single tear slipped down his cheek.

�He�ll pay for this Krai. I promise you that.�

Krai could only nod, Dumbledore would regret messing with their lives, his Master would destroy him. But it was still too late to save his Silasi.

A/N... Hey I�m sorry how long this took and how short the chapter is but it can't be helped. This is a sort of filler chapter I guess, not much happens in it but it�s necessary to set up the rest now. We�re entering what I call the final sequence, hopefully everything will be answered and the ending will be good. Having said that the end is still a few chapters away but I think I�m gonna try and shorten that number. I�ve been writing this a lot longer than I thought I would and I really want to get it finished. I seriously need to edit it as well. But anyway, the next chapter will be longer than this one.

OK, so about the bond. The bond is kind of a two-way connection. Formed through sexual connection. For it to work for both participants, they both have to penetrate the other. Harry naturally dominated Draco but it is against his nature to submit to the blond. So to make that happen his instincts push him into be a little rougher than he�d want. As he�d see himself as the cause of his mates pain. Draco then instinctively comforts his mate and takes the lead in another sexual act to show that he wasn�t hurt and still loves his dom. When this is done both participants should be connected. But because the bond failed in Draco�s case Harry is connected to Draco but Draco didn't connect to Harry. The reason for this will come out in the next chapter. So until then I hope this explanations sufficient.

H/D, WIP but regularly updated. She updates every weekend n I�m pretty sure the fic aint that far from the end actually. Maybe a couple more chapters and an epilogue.

With the incarceration of his father Lucius Malfoy, Draco has become Lord Malfoy. In the Manor there is a secret. A spell used by countless Malfoy Lords. The spell when performed will tell you everything about a person. It creates a file, showing their powers, weaknesses, loves, it gives you all the information you need to make a decision. Draco decides to try this spell on Potter and what he learns makes him change his mind about a few things. The war for one and who he wants to marry.

This story is really absorbing, it�s mainly from Draco�s pov so there�s a lot of emphasis on pureblood society and other things along those lines. The rules of magic and pureblood ideas are believably expanded upon and the courtship is quite inventive and rather sweet in places. The explanation for the aloofness of purebloods is one of the things I truly like about this fic. Its rather endearing when Draco�s wondering about his feelings for Harry, berating himself for falling for him as its only family that should be loved as they don�t hurt you. It�s a real good fic.

HP/LV fic, Dark Harry, WIP but the author updates so quickly sometimes that I can't believe it. Once she updated two days in a row and both chapters had easily twenty pages. I did several happy dances that week, lol.

I can honestly say that though I�ve really gotten into HP/LV fics recently I�ve read very few of this quality. And the ones that were good were a little short for my taste. At the moment I�m guessing this story stands at close to 1000 pages and it�s still going strong. Some people may think that stories that length are boring I can certainly say they aren�t. If you�ve read Secrets by Vorabiza you�ll know exactly what I�m talking about. Anyway onto the plot.

At age ten Harry runs away from the Dursley's, his Uncle had been acting a little too �nice� and touchy feely for him recently (no non con). Outside he runs into an escaped Sirius Black who takes Harry away to his Manor. There they discover that Sirius isn�t Harry�s Godfather but his Father instead. With the help of a couple of Black portraits Harry realises he�s a dark wizard. In this fic there is a difference between light and dark magic, the intricacies of which are really cool and necessary to the plot. Anyway Harry�s a dark wizard and he wants to do all he can to help the dark wizards gain equality in the wizarding world.

Making a decision he decides to go to Durmstrang instead of Hogwarts. And I�ll say here and now that I�ve never read of a better take on a different school. I love that theme but no fic I�ve read comes close to this one. The characters of the students and the teachers are brilliant and Karkaroff is fantastic. I actually prefer half of her characters to J K Rowlings. Harry and his friends decide that they will train to become Deatheaters so that they can help in the war when they�re older.

Eventually Voldemort gets a body and meets Harry. I would tell you more of what happens but I don�t want to give anything away. As said earlier if you�ve read Secrets you know what a good novel length fic is, some people actually prefer that over book seven even though it�s set in sixth year. Well to me the Black Heir is in some ways a better read than the original series. If you thought J K�s world was too black and white and there wasn�t enough of the black, well you won't be disappointed with this fic. It�s a classic, especially the later chapters I nearly had an aneurism when a certain little twist happened. Urgh that was a killer. Read it I don�t think you�ll regret it. Especially the purists, the events of the books are wonderfully integrated into her story. She uses them as reasons and results and plot twists, the one surrounding the very start of book six is absolutely excellent. I loved how she made that little bit fit so well. This author is a master story teller. And the fact that this is only her first fic give me high hopes for the quality of future fics. Wow.
