CH 41 A letter to Remus
Her eyes widened when he added a silencing spell. “Err, Sir?” She questioned, panic rising up within her. She couldn’t take her eyes off the chair.
Severus got up from behind his desk and walked round, moving to the lone chair and sitting on it without even looking at her.
“Come here.” He ordered in a low voice.
Lou didn’t move, she didn’t want to go there. “Sir, I’ve brought my parchment, for the lines. Don’t you wa …”
“I said come here.”
Lou clutched her bag tightly to her chest as she limped towards him slower than she was able, until she was standing by his side.
“Put your bag down and lay your cane beside it.”
Lou dropped her bag to the floor and lowered the cane reluctantly as far as she could before letting it go.
“Please Professor, I’m really sorry I said those things, I didn’t know you were there, honest I didn’t. I would never have …”
She didn’t get chance to finish her sentence as she was suddenly hauled over his lap and her robes lifted.
“I warned you did I not, that I would most likely be much harder on you than the other students? I warned you what I would do should I catch you cursing again.”
Eight times he brought his hand down on her bottom. Lou jolted and cried out with each strike.
“OOWWW!” She wailed. “You did loads. Why?” She asked as he lifted her from his lap and passed her the cane.
“One for purposely taking your time at supper. Another for thinking you can curse when you believe you are alone. The others for each curse I heard you mutter.”
“But I only swore once and you gave me six smacks for it. Anyway, I thought you weren‘t coming back, you just left me.”
“I heard three distinct words, your punishment was doubled because you already knew the consequences if you were discovered.”
He stood and thrust her bag at her. “Follow me.”
He led her into the potions classroom and indicated she go to her desk while he stood in front of his own, arms folded.
Lou moved her chair back and stood at her desk, glowering at it because she daren’t glower at him.
“Sit.” he commanded.
“What? I can’t, my …I can’t.”
He stepped up to her desk and with a finger, pressed gently on her shoulder.
Lou lost her balance and sat heavily on her chair, letting out a yelp as she landed.
“You will write a three foot essay on every offensive word you know, it’s true meaning, it’s derogatory meaning, and why each of those words should not even enter your head, never mind leave your mouth. You will then add another foot of written apology. Begin.” He told her.
She sniffed and got her things from her bag, wanting to think all kinds of bad things about the Professor, but scared he might hear her thoughts if she did. He’d done it before after all.
Her bum stung like crazy as she first listed every swear word she knew, then took each one and wrote what she thought the word really meant and the context in which it was commonly used amongst her peers. Then she wrote why she shouldn’t use those words, wrote a load of what she considered crap, by way of an apology and put down her quill.
It had taken almost three hours to do and she was tired. Her bottom had reduced to a dull ache and her leg was hurting from sitting in the same position for too long.
He walked to the front of her desk and picked up the parchment. The first thing he did was measure it.
“This is one inch short.” He growled, placing it back on the desk in front of her.
She looked at him gob smacked for a moment, then picked up her quill and signed her name at the bottom.
He measured again and seemed satisfied as he took it to his desk to read.
Lou gave a sigh of relief and waited until he read through her work. It seemed to her to take ages and she could feel herself losing balance slightly as she tried not to fall asleep. After spending weeks in bed, then her first day out of the infirmary spent in Hogsmead, Lou was exhausted.
Severus noticed her eyes slowly closing as she struggled to stay awake.
“You may go.” He told her, noticing her start at the sound of his voice.
He saw her struggle to get to her feet, her leg had obviously seized up. When she was still struggling a few minutes later, he relented and moved to her side to help her stand.
Severus felt no guilt over the punishment he’d administered. He lost count of the times she was warned about her language, she knew the consequences.
“Have you taken your pain potion?”
“No Sir, I forgot.” She went to take it from her pocket and realised she hadn’t got it with her. “I think I left it in my trouser pocket.” She told him “I’ll take it as soon as I get to my room.”
“I doubt you will make it that far without it.” He accio’d a phial from his personal stores and handed it to her.
She thanked him and swallowed it down. Her leg immediately eased and her bum stopped hurting.
“Miss Black, I sincerely hope I do not have cause to punish you physically again. However, should it prove necessary, you will take your potion before punishment is administered.
“Why?” She asked.
“So that any discomfort caused by the punishment you are given, will not later be relieved. It defeats the object of punishing you in the first place. You may go.”
Lou couldn’t wait to get away, but even with the potion, her leg still hurt a bit and her foot dragged mercilessly as she made her way from the room.
He watched her go and breathed his own sigh of relief when the door closed behind her.
Severus seriously hoped he did not have to punish her physically again. Loath though he was to admit it, he’d felt a certain amount of pleasure each time his hand struck her backside, he found it hard not to imagine the rosy glow that must have covered those curvy globes of hers.
Shaking his head, he went to his study and poured a large fire whiskey, admonishing himself, reminding himself that she was a fifteen year old girl who had recently been raped.
That was another thing he’d struggled with recently. He found it hard not to be angry over the fact that someone had taken away what was his. Only it wasn’t his, it was hers, to give to whomever she chose to give it to. Her virginity was never his to take and it should not have entered his head that it was. So why did it? Severus still didn’t have an answer, even after his third firewhiskey. He looked down at the tent in his trousers and, disgusted with himself, he went for a cold shower.
Lou meanwhile, made it to the common room and found her friends waiting for her.
“Wow, you look terrible.” “How many lines did he make you do?” “We thought you were never coming back.”
Lou looked at her friends, there was no way she was telling them she’d got a spanking from the Professor.
“I had to write an essay. Three feet on the meaning of every swear word I know, plus why I shouldn’t use them, then another foot of apology. When I finished he told me it was an inch short.”
“Oh, what did you do?” Anna asked.
“Signed my name, I didn’t know what else to write.
They girls giggled at this. “Did he say anything?” Bernie wanted to know.
“No, just made me wait forever while he read it and sent me back here. I’m never gonna swear again for the rest of my life. I’m glad I haven’t got homework to do, I’m too tired.
The girls headed off to their dorms and Lou to her own room. She sat staring at the photo of her parents for a while, Validus on her shoulder preening her hair as she thought about this evening. More to the point, the spanking. As much as it hurt, she’d felt kind of odd, like a thrill was running through her. Every time he spanked her, his hand seemed to linger on her bum for a second before he raised it again, and Lou liked that lingering second. She didn’t know why she liked it, only that she did. I’m screwed up Validus, you know that. I’m sick in the head.”
Validus hooted softly and continued with his preening.
Lou had the strangest dream that night. It was scary at first, she was laying on a bed and someone was on top of her. She couldn’t see their face, only cold grey eyes and a sneer. She wanted desperately to escape but she couldn’t get off the bed, whoever was on top of her was holding her down.
Then the eyes changed, they became dark, black as they held hers captive with their intensity. Then she didn’t want to escape any more, she wanted those eyes to keep looking into hers, she wanted the mouth, that was now wide and sensual, to capture hers, bruising her lips in the process.
Just as those lips were about to meet hers, she woke, staring wildly about the darkened room. Her tummy felt odd and there was a dampness between her legs.
‘Damn.’ She thought. ’I’m not due on for another week.’
Lighting the torches with a quick “Lumos” she hauled herself out of bed and went to the bathroom, only to discover that her period had not started.
She touched herself where the dampness was and felt a thrill shoot through her. She tried it again and decided she liked this new sensation.
After using the loo and washing her hands, she climbed back into bed and extinguished the lights. Then she lifted her nightgown to see if she could make those nice feelings again. She was still wet down there and as she touched herself she got wetter. She discovered that if she rubbed gently at the little nub between her folds, it would send the most wonderful sensations coursing through her and within minutes, Lou had her first ever orgasm.
As soon as she caught her breath, she realised that she been imagining those black pools boring into her as she’d pleasured herself. Then she recognised who those dark eyes belonged to and felt guilty, ashamed. She lay awake for a long time, trying to clear her mind of what she’d done and it was growing light before she finally nodded off again.
She woke to banging on her door. “Come on Lou, were starving out here and your still in bed. Get up you lazy devil.” Nichole shouted.
“You lot go to breakfast, I’ll be there as soon as I can.” She shouted back, not really wanting to get up yet.
Kreatcher came to helped her shower and dress, the he introduced Pegnose who instantly bound herself to an unsuspecting Lou.
“What did you just do?”
“Is is bound to serve Nilsen-Black now like Kreatcher.”
“What? But why Peg? I don’t understand.”
“We is wanting to mate, but we can’t if we’s not bound to the same families. Now we is and can make many elfins to serve future Nilsen-Blacks.” Peg told her with a big, sharp toothed grin.
Lou looked at Kreatcher, convinced he was blushing, at least as far as elves did blush. He looked sheepish and said nothing. Lou hid a smile behind her hand and left to go for breakfast, the images springing to mind putting her off the idea of eating.
The girls were talking about going to Hogsmead again today, but Lou said she would save her next visit for another time, she didn’t really want to ask the Professor to apparate her, not after last nights detention. Or the ensuing dream it invoked. Then there was the result the dream caused. No, she would go and write a letter to Mr Lupin, let him know what kind of house she would like and the type of area she wanted it to be in.
Dear Mr Lupin
Sorry for taking so long to get round to this letter. Lots has happened since I saw you last, but I’m settled into school now and I think I’m doing well with my lessons.
I hope you are well and have managed to find work. That’s something I know isn’t easy.
The hat put me in Slytherin, even though I asked it not to. Professor Snape was angry with me about it and said I didn’t try hard enough to persuade it.
Guess what? I’ve got friends now. Five girls in Slytherin. Their names are Stacy, Robyn, Bernie, Anna and Nichole. I’m still friends with Ginny and the others too so that’s good isn’t it?
I was allowed to go to Hogsmead yesterday for the first time. It was a lot of fun.
But you probably don’t want to hear about all this because your grown up and have more important things to think about.
I’ve been thinking about the kind of house I want, if you have time to look that is. If you do, it has to be big, but not too big. Lots of bedrooms and a nice big modern kitchen so I can cook. Big gardens too with trees and bushes and lots of flowers. I want the lawns to go on forever and high fences so no one can get in.
I hope this will help you find something for me. I also want it somewhere quiet, but close enough to shops so that I can go to the supermarket when I want.
If you have time, please would you write back, it would be great to get a letter like everyone else. If your too busy, I’ll understand. Validus gets bored because I don’t send him out with mail like the other owls.
Your friend (I hope)
Lou
Do you think he’ll write back Validus? Probably not, he’s most likely too busy and won’t have time.
She fastened the letter to his outstretched leg, Professor Snape showed her how to do this when she was writing to her friends, and sent him on his way.
On Monday morning, Validus came sweeping into the great Hall and landed gracefully on her shoulder, his leg outstretched for her to untie the scroll.
Lou thought at first that he’d brought her own letter back, but when she saw the seal her face lit up. She’d got a letter of her own, just like her friends.
“Thanks Validus.” She told the owl, giving him a rasher of bacon from her plate.
She tucked the letter securely into her bag, desperate to know what it said, but preferring to wait until she was alone and could take her time reading it.
Severus noticed immediately when Lou’s owl arrived with a letter. He could not keep the scowl from his face as he wondered who would be writing to her.
He noticed her tuck it into her bag, unopened and wondered if it would still be there during potions this afternoon.
After lunch, Lou headed to her room. She still had plenty of time before potions and could wait no longer to read her letter.
Dear Lou,
I am never too busy to read your letters, or to reply.
Of course I want to hear all about your time at Hogwarts and hope you will write again soon. I am pleased you have friends now, though not surprised. You should have more confidence in yourself Lou. You are a lovely young lady and deserve to have the best from life.
If the hat put you in Slytherin, it did so for a reason. I am sure you are already bringing the rest of your housemates round to your own unique way of thinking, and that can only be for the best.
The Headmaster has kept me informed of your progress and I am proud of how much you have achieved so far.
I shall endeavour to find you a property that suites, though why you wish to purchase a muggle house is beyond me.
As yet, I have had no luck in finding suitable long term employment, but I shall not give up hope.
Feel free to correspond any time you wish
Your friend
Remus J. Lupin
Lou couldn’t keep the smile from her face, he wanted her to write to him again, and he was happy to write back to her. She could barely keep her smile hidden as she entered the potions classroom that afternoon.
“Perhaps you would care to share with the rest of the class whatever it is that so amuses you Miss Black.”
Drawled Professor Snape.
Lou gulped and looked up into those dark pools and immediately remembered her dream. “I was just feeling happy Sir, I don’t have anything to share.” She told him quietly, as her cheeks flamed.
“Really, how unusual. You hear that class, Miss Black is so happy to be here, she can barely contain her delight.”
There were a few snickers at his comment and Lou was mortified. She lowered her eyes to her desk, wondering why he’d just humiliated her like that.
Lou was put at a desk to the side of the classroom away from everyone else, then made to do a different potion to the rest of her peers. She knew it was an extremely advanced potion, but it was only when she headed to the stores with her list that she realised she was to brew the Wolfsbane potion.
The preparation alone would take up the whole of the double lesson, and she would need a further hour and a half after that before she could place it under a stasis spell and leave it.
‘Bang goes my free period.’ She thought.
Lou kept her head down for the rest of the lesson, concentrating intently on the preparation of the ingredients and preparing the base for the potion.
When the bell rang at the end of lesson, Lou was still at her desk, adding the Monkshood as everyone else filed from the room.
She hardly heard the door close, so focused was she on her work. It was only the soft sound of breathing close to her ear that alerted her to the fact that the Professor was standing behind her, peering over her shoulder as she worked.
Lou could feel the heat radiating from him and wished he wouldn’t stand quite so close to her. It was making her body do funny things and it was getting hard to keep her attention on what she was doing.
She let out a small breath when he suddenly moved away from her and sat at his desk, ready for the next class.
Severus was so intent on watching her work, it came as a shock when he suddenly smelt her arousal. He’d not realised how close he was to her until then.
He’d moved quickly to his desk, her aroma doing things to his own body that it should not have done. He needed to sit down as the blood left his brain and collected elsewhere.
He’d set her to brew the Wolfsbane in hopes that he would get a chance to procure the letter from her bag. He considered it his duty to censor her mail, in case anything untoward was going on. There was always the chance the Dark Lord was employing alternative methods of spying on Lou behind his back, though it was unlikely at the moment. A silent accio aimed at her bag while her back was turned produced nothing so he knew she must have read the letter and left it in her room.
His jibe at the beginning of class was his way of venting his anger, and ridding her of that ridiculous grin she’d been wearing all day since she’d received the damned letter.
As his seventh year advanced NEWTS class entered the room, he tried to ignore the throbbing in his pants and concentrate instead on the lecture he was meant to be giving on the Wolfsbane potion. Lou’s partially prepared potion was to be an example to show the students exactly how it should be done.
Severus crossed his arms over his chest, ensuring his robes covered him as he gave the one hour lecture, he then sat down while they wrote up their notes for the next half hour.
By this time, Lou had done as much as she could and had placed the stasis spell on the partially prepared Wolfsbane potion.
She sat quietly waiting at her desk, sneaking peeps at Harry, Ron and Hermione when she thought the Professor wasn’t watching.
When Ron gave her a small wave and smiled, she smiled back brightly and almost fell from her chair when Professor Snape stood in front of her desk and slammed his hands down on it hard.
“Miss Black. It seems that once again, you find something so amusing that you cannot contain yourself. Still in our ‘Happy Mood’ are we?” He asked sarcastically.
“No Sir, sorry.” She told him, every hint of cheerfulness now gone from her. “I’ve f …finished with the potion.” She told him, wishing he would stop shouting at her and making fun of her just because she felt a bit happy.
“Good, then you may leave.” He told her, turning his back in dismissal.
Lou grabbed her bag and cane and left the room as quickly as she could, avoiding the eyes of her friends, but she clearly heard the Potions Masters words before she made it through the door.
“Now that hopalong has departed, you may examine the partially prepared Wolfsbane for yourselves. Take note of ¾
Lou froze in shock for a moment before closing the door, stung at what he’d called her. It was cruel and he had to have known she’d hear the remark, so why did he say it? She locked herself in her room and cried.
