Hermione tossed and turned in her sleep as her dreams came in flashes and floods. Her heart was pounding out of her chest, while images of Severus Snape clouded her subconscience. The dark wizard standing behind her, pressed up against her, whispering in her ear, making tingles shoot down her spine. The night after the Halloween dance. Images of him above her in his study. Everything, right down to the evil bright green eyes of the Seraphim who took her memories. It was all coming back now.
The girl woke with a start and bolted upright. At first, she was confused about where she was until she looked around the room again. His room. Glancing to her side, she realized her hearts true desire was no longer in the bed beside her. She smiled wide and jumped out of the bed to pull her jeans back on, and stumbled out of the room.
"It worked. It worked." she breathed excitedly; the strange feeling she had, no longer present, and she couldn't wait to see Severus. She felt like she hadn't seen him in years.
Hermione moved quickly through the house, searching for the man in question, but all she found was Adrien and Luna sitting at the table.
"Where's he gone?" Hermione asked.
Adrien perked up, and raised an amused brow at her. "So you're back then, I take it?" he teased.
"Yes, it worked... Where is he? I must see him." she said.
"He's gone out to do some shopping. Said he wanted to get you a proper gift. Look, I think you shouldn't tell him right away. Just... Surprise him." Adrien said.
"I don't know if I can handle that, Adrien... I feel like I haven't laid eyes on him in years."
"Well, it's only been... Maybe 12 hours?" Adrien laughed.
"Have I really slept that long? What time is it?" Hermione asked, noting the bright light of the sun pouring through the windows.
"About two p.m." Luna smiled dreamily.
"Holy shit..." Hermione breathed, unable to contain her smile. She felt so very refreshed. "When did he leave?"
"About fifteen minutes before you woke... You may as well take a seat. Tell us what happened." Adrien said.
Hermione came around the table and sat next to Luna. "I just... It was like a flood of dreams and images. At first I wasn't sure what was going on, but it was obviously my memories coming back. Was he terribly devastated?" she asked.
"He was... But I'm sure he'll be happier than ever now. I'm sure it will make his whole Holiday." Adrien smirked.
"Why do I feel like I love him even more than I did before?" Hermione mused.
"Just have some fun with it, Hermione." Adrien said.
"What, you mean taunt him?" Hermione asked incredulously.
"No! That's not what I mean at all. But when he comes in, don't try to jump his bones right away. Make it romantic." Adrien supplied.
"Is there anywhere around here that we could do some shopping?" Hermione asked suddenly.
"Well, of course. It isn't the stone age. We could apparate to London if need be." Adrien replied.
"Well let's go then." Hermione rushed excitedly.
The two others abandoned their breakfast and went to dress in muggle clothing.
"Where do we want to go?" Adrien asked as they readied themselves to leave the house.
"Let's go to London anyway. I'd like to visit a flower shop." Hermione said.
"Alright. Let's make this quick because I want to go down to the river and skip some fucking rocks." Adrien smiled.
Luna and Hermione giggled as they grabbed hold of Adrien, and he apparated them into a secluded alley in the middle of London.
"Flower shop, just there." he pointed.
The three made their way to the shop, and Hermione already had a very romantic idea in mind. She figured she would buy a dozen red roses, some new candles, and she also wanted to find Severus a new journal to write in, as his current one was nearly full. She also wanted to get Adrien and Luna a gift as well.
She picked out a nice batch of a dozen red roses, and five white ones, and felt satisfied with her choices. The witch smiled contentedly as she imagined laying the white ones upon the made bed, and she would use the red petals to trail down the hallway to the bedroom. At the same shop, she was able to purchase not only the flowers, but the pillar candles as well, and then the three made their way to a stationary shop.
"This one screams Professor Snape." Luna said as she picked up a black hardcover journal with silver filigree around the spine and the cover.
"It does indeed." Hermione smiled taking the empty book to thumb through the pages.
Looking around for a bit longer, she found a nice photo book that she decided to buy for Adrien and Luna, so the two could fill it with their fondest memories. Somehow, she managed to pay for it without them seeing.
"Are you two done then? Shall we head back?" Hermione asked.
Adrien and Luna nodded their agreement, and the three made their way back into the secluded alley way. The two girls grabbed hold of Adrien, and he safely apparated them back to Spinner's End.
"Now, hurry up, do what you're going to do, and then meet us down at the river." Adrien said, gesturing in the direction of the river.
Hermione took a quick look around the house and noted that Severus still wasn't there. She couldn't help but be momentarily glad, because that way she would have time to do what she planned to.
Carefully, she made up the bed, fluffed the pillows and laid the white roses down upon them with a single red one. She began to carefully pull some of the petals from the remaining red roses, and tossed them about the room, across the bed, and trailed them out of the door way, and down the hall. Perfect, she thought.
Reentering the room, Hermione sat down at the foot of the bed with the new journal, and began to write a message inside of it on the back of the cover:
"My dearest Severus. I do hope you fill this journal with lighter thoughts and memories, and I hope I have a part in making you happy enough to do so. All my love, and so much more.
- Hermione."
Laying the new journal on the bed, she took a quick glance around. Feeling happy with her handiwork, she left the house to go meet Adrien and Luna down at the river. The girl was giddy with excitement for the dark wizard's arrival.
