Harry came back into the room he shared with Blaise to find Blaise stirring, rubbing sleep from his eyes. “Have a good night?” He asked.
Harry smiled. “Yes, I did. As a matter of fact, I have plans for next weekend.”
Blaise frowned. “Which day?” He asked.
Harry shrugged. “I can do either.” He told his dominant.
“Sunday. You’re mine on Saturday. It’s the last Hogsmeade weekend before Christmas break.”
Harry grinned. “Yes, Your Majesty.”
“I’m being serious.” Blaise said. “I want to buy you your gift, and since I don’t know you that well, I need you with me for that. And we're going to lunch, too.”
“Alright, I’ll let Severus know.” Harry said easily.
“What are you going to do with him, anyway?” Blaise asked curiously.
Harry grinned. “I'm taking him down to the Chamber of Secrets to harvest Basilisk parts.” He revealed.
Blaise’s eyebrow rose. “Your Christmas gift to him?” He asked.
Harry shook his head. “No. A ‘because I appreciate you’ gift.” He told the other teen. “His Christmas gift should come to me today. It’s a set of crystal vials. He’s not the type to express a want, but I saw his face when I asked why he had the set he had. He looked devastated and told me used to have twelve, but had broken five of them. They're apparently better than normal glass vials because they enhance the potions stored in them. So I went and bought him another twelve. Pricey, but he’s worth it.”
Blaise nodded. “Crystalware can be, but it’s worth the price for its magical properties.”
Harry frowned. “Not sure what to get you, though.”
Blaise smiled. “You can get me one after we get yours. I'll help you find something. I have a few ideas I haven’t passed on to my mother yet.”
Harry grinned. “That’s a relief!”
Blaise chuckled. “Come on, shower and then breakfast.” He said, getting out of bed.

“Can you shrink crystal without damaging it?” Harry asked, after two owls had dropped off the package of vials at breakfast.
“Not without damaging the properties of the crystal itself.” Hermione informed him.
Harry cursed and attempted to hide the large package in his bag before Severus noticed it. When he checked the Head Table, though, Severus wasn’t even there yet.
Serendipity!
He arrived two minutes after Harry had managed to properly hide the vials, so Harry had managed it just in time.
After eating, Harry hurried to his room and stashed the vials before hurrying even faster to Charms.
He still managed to rush in five seconds late.
Professor Flitwick sighed. “I’m going to overlook it this once, Mr. Potter; don’t make this a habit.” He said.
Harry flushed. “Sorry, Sir! I won’t!” He promised.
Flitwick nodded. “Now, for today's lesson…”

Harry swallowed reflexively, looking at Blaire from under his lashes. The other teen was looking particularly edible, and it was only the memory of his unpleasant flavour that was holding back his Vampire side from dragging the Italian off somewhere and taking a bite.
At least that pesky urge to kill, while still there in the background, was tempered by being in his presence.
“You're a mile away.” Blaise said, drawing Harry's attention back to the present and leading him to a carriage. “Knut for your thoughts?”
Harry grinned. “You look amazing, that’s all.” He said.
Blaire chuckled. “Thank you. You're not too bad yourself, you know. You have that whole ‘tortured hero' look going on, with your pale skin and dark hair.” He pointed out.
“You think so?” Harry asked.
“Oh, yes.” Blaire purred, leaning in to crowd Harry into the corner. “It works for you, gorgeous.”
Harry moaned helplessly as Blaise began nibbling at his neck.
The door opened and Blaise growled as Draco and Pansy came in.
“Deal with it, darling. Harry can't monopolize you all the time.” Pansy said, sitting across from them.
Blaise sighed, but sat back and made himself smile in a friendly manner, despite his eyes shooting daggers at them both.
Draco just smiled smugly.
“To what do we owe the pleasure?” Blaise asked, his tone letting them know that it was anything but that.
“Well, we haven’t seen you much. We wanted to catch up.” Pansy said, examining her fingernails.
“You've been neglecting your oldest friends, Blaise.” Draco said. “It's not very nice.”
Harry sighed and settled in for an uncomfortable ride.
*****
“Sorry about that.” Blaise muttered as they sat down for lunch. “They're used to getting the bulk of my attention.” He explained.
Harry nodded. “Hey, it’s fine, I totally understand! They miss you. It happens.”
Blaise sighed and nodded. “Yeah.”
Harry grinned. “So, our first date.”
Blaise shook his head. “It’s not a date, it’s lunch. Dinner would be a date. Lunch is a good deal less formal. Trust me, if I'm taking you out on a date, you’ll know.” He raked his eyes over Harry's body. “And I'd pick somewhere more high-class than Hogsmeade to show you off.”
Harry snorted. “So, we're just having lunch as friends, is that it?” He asked. “No need for me to put out tonight, then?”
Blaise's eyes widened. “Now, I never said that, Gorgeous.” He denied. “Let's not put words in my mouth.”
Harry chuckled. “Just making sure.”
“Of course you were.” Blaise said lightly.

“Why this one?” Harry asked, looking at the small ring.
“It’s got several enchantments, and they are costly. Communication with other rings of its kind, these ones have protection spells from some curses and potions, and this kind comes with a Portkey setting. I can set it to anywhere by adding a drop of my blood and speaking the activation phrase while in the area I want to tune it to.” Blaise explained.
“Oh.” Harry said, looking at the small gold ring set with an emerald. “And why gold instead of silver?” He asked.
Blaise smiled wryly. “Gold looks better against my skin. I can’t pull off silver.”
Harry hummed. “How much will this run me?” He asked next.
“Only seventy galleons.” Blaise said.
“Only.” Harry repeated.
“Yes, and I know you can afford it, so that’s what I want.” Blaise said with a smile. “I never claimed to be a cheap lay, Gorgeous. I have high standards if I'm going to keep you.”
Harry snorted. “Fine.” He said with a smile. He bought the ring and pocketed the small box.
Blaise smiled. “Are you going to keep it until Christmas?” He asked.
Harry shrugged. “Maybe.” He said simply, leading the way out of the shop. “What did you get for Draco?” He asked as they headed for the stationary shop.
Blaise snorted. “Looking to butter him up? I got him what I get him every year: the Deluxe Assortment of Sweets from Honeydukes.”
Harry frowned. “Really? Candy?”
“Draco's sweet tooth is the thing of legends in Slytherin.” Blaise revealed. “He'll go through it in time for Easter. And it’s a lot of candy.”
“Mm.” Harry frowned. “He obviously doesn’t need more, then…”
“Get him a bottle of Firewhiskey and he’ll love you forever.” Blaise suggested.
“From where?” Harry asked. “I'm sixteen!”
“Hog’s Head asks no questions.” Blaise told him. “For those that can pay.”
Harry hummed as they entered the store. He walked to the back and picked out three different colours of ink—red, green and purple—and a pretty peacock-feather quill. Then he grabbed a book, and Blaise frowned.
“A Book of Shadows?” He asked curiously. “You don’t seem the type to be detailing your Dark Magic training, so what would you use that for?”
Harry smiled. “To have a place to write about my creature traits, instincts, and other things that are for my information only. I need something secure that no one else can get into.” He said.
Blaise smiled. “That's actually brilliant. And since it will be a gift, it will be more meaningful. Good choice.” Blaise took the items from him. “Let's get this paid for and go finish buying the rest of our last-minute gifts.” He said.
