"Roan, what are you thinking on so hard, son?" Roark Sr. asked as he picked up the fallen blanket, murmured a few soft words, then spread the blanket over his son's.
"That we probably should have waited a little longer before we attempted this, at least until Roark had total control of his shields, instead of the partial that he did have." He shook his head, looking at a sleeping Roark, Dylan now curled into him protectively. "That was our first mistake."
"What do you mean?"
"Roark's shields. They were nowhere near as strong as we thought they were, which was, in part, what caused them to collapse when that wall around his dreams shattered, allowing him to become overwhelmed by not only his emotions but Kili and Dylan's. These dreams...they're so much a part of his emotions. Another reason they spiraled out of control so quickly. Bill's move to isolate Dylan from him and Kili was a stroke of genius, allowing Dad and Severus to get to Kili, and Rodolphus, Harry, and Rabastan to get to Rory."
"What do you intend to do now?"
"What can we do? We're going to have to wait until his shields have repaired themselves. Once they have, we can set to work on strengthening and rebuilding the ones that need to be rebuilt. We have little over a sectar before we have to leave for the Conference, and in that time we are going to have to work to fix what was broken."
"Look, Commander," Rodolphus began, turning his head to look at him, his sherry eyes intent. "I know you don't approve of our relationship, but regardless of how you may or may not feel, Roark would like very much for you to attend our marriage bonding ceremony."
"As would I," Harry said, giving him a smile. "I think it's past time we move past all this petty fighting. We would like it if you came."
He gave him a nod. "Just send us a note as to when and where you are going to have it. Your grandmother, aunt, and uncles would have much more than my head if I even THOUGHT of refusing to be there."
"I also think you need to think about repairing your relationship with him. He's been heartbroken by this break between you. He loves you, Adama, and your refusal to even see his side of this has hurt him greatly."
"I was going to come see you both soon anyway," came softly as he looked at Harry, "I've been wanting to talk to you about several things. Now, I had better get back and tell Ila Roark is going to be alright."

"Rodolphus, where are you taking me?" he asked, forced to move slowly, guided by his lover's hands, as he was, at the moment, blindfolded. "And when can I take this blindfold off? It's very disconcerting not to be able to see where I'm going, my love."
"Patience, darling, I'll remove the blindfold in just a centon," came his amused laden tone. "Ah...here we are, and it looks like Rabastan and Harry are already here."
The blindfold was pulled off, and as his eyes refocused, Roark found himself standing on a natural stone walkway that led up to...Roark drew in a deep breath as soon as he saw the house.
It was a three-story tri-level made of natural river stone and red cedar, with a red shingle roof. He saw that the front porch was large, and covered. Then there were the windows...
"Rodolphus?" he asked, turning to look at him, catching sight of Harry and Rabastan coming around the side of the house.
"Let's go take a look inside, shall we?" he said as he drew a key card from his jacket pocket, his eyes watching his lover's face, taking his smaller hand in his and twining their fingers.
Pulling slightly to get him moving, they walked up the front walkway to the steps of the front porch where Harry and Rabastan waited with warm smiles of welcome. "Harry. Bas," he said to the two.
"Wait until you see the back," he said as he hugged him. "It's beautiful here."
"Whose house is this?" he asked as they moved up the six steps.
At the door, Rodolphus pushed the key card into the panel on the right side of the door, entering a security code. "If you and Harry like it," he began as the pad blinked from red to green, the door sliding open, "it could be ours."
Placing a hand at the small of his back, he ushered him into the foyer of the house, Rabastan doing the same with Harry, the four of them looking around. As they looked around they saw to the left the formal dining room, a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows lighting the room brightly. To the left was a formal living room, also with floor to ceiling windows, and a white and brown marble fireplace that took up nearly on wall.
Smiling at each other, Harry and Roark moved as one toward the arched doorway that led, they soon discovered, to a large Great room. Standing on the top of the three steps that went down into the room, they looked around. There was another marble fireplace, stained glass double doors on either side of it that led, they soon discovered as they crossed the room to the doors, pulled them open to step out onto the partially covered deck that overlooked the lake, the forest and then the mountains beyond.
"Lords of Kobol," he breathed, "what a stunning view."
"There are two master bedrooms, one in the right wing, the other to the left," he told him, leading him back inside and turning left into a hallway as Harry and Rabastan went to the right. "There's a fairly good sized kitchen, a breakfast nook, and the glass enclosed sunroom behind that. The sunroom also has stained glass double doors that lead out into the garden. Upstairs is a large single room with a full bath. I was thinking, if you and Harry approve, we could turn it into the library, as the room takes up the entirety of the third floor."
They moved past two doorways that led into fairly nice sized rooms that Roark thought, when he noticed the connecting doorways, would make great study's for them. Then they entered the doorway at the end of the hall. The bedroom was huge, a large bay window with a window seat that looked out over the lake, the forest and the mountains beyond. There was a single door that led out onto another deck, this one more private.
"Perfect for me to make love to you on," came Rodolphus murmur into his ear that had his body reacting.
Roark turned as his arms went around him. Lifting his arms, his hands slid up the broad, muscular chest, hands fisting in his uniform shirt as he bent to take his lips. Roark moaned, feeling the hard ridge of his lovers cock against him. Pulling out of the kiss, he looked up into passion darkened sherry eyes.
"It's beautiful here. I haven't seen the rest of the house, but I love what I HAVE seen so far, and by the feel of it, so does Harry. The house...the lake, then the forest and mountains beyond...What happened to the original owner? I can't imagine someone building this, then just abandoning it."
"I don't know, love, but if you're really curious about it, we can prob--"
"RORY!!" Harry came bursting into the room, breathless from his run from the other side of the house. "Say you like it! PLEASE say you like it!! Say we can all go in together and buy this house, because I sure as hell want this house."
Roark looked at his brothers happy, excited face and had to chuckle. Leaving Rodolphus' arms, he turned and went to the single stained glass door and pulled it open. Stepping out onto the deck, he moved to the oak rail, lay his hands on it, looking out over the stunning view. Closing his eyes, he drew in a slow, deep breath, releasing it slowly as the last of the tension faded away as he listened to the sounds of the forest.
"It is very relaxing here,' he said as Rodolphus moved up behind him. "Listen." He leaned back into him. "The sound of water on the shore of the lake, the sounds coming from the forest...the singing of the birds, the wind through the trees..." he turned suddenly in his arms. "Can we four really afford to buy this place and the land that surrounds it?"
"Let's go find out, shall we?"
