no I’m not on drugs!
A/n: Sigh it’s been a long time since I post but luckily I
wrote up and typed up everything so really it’s just a matter of posting now
thanks for the replies. I like Colin and
Harry as a couple as well I have been looking for a good fic
to read about them but I couldn’t find one so I figured I’d just write
one! Anyway I’m going to maybe put up
another fic about Ron and Draco and Remus and Sirius
with a bit of help from James…uh but there is so much plot in that one I’m
thin its its rating is not high enough to post here…hmmmm…well
anyway we’ll see about that one let me just continue with this one.
Tension between the sixth year boys was suddenly evident. Ron knew and Seamus realized Ron knew. Dean took Seamus’s
side and Harry supported his best friend.
They were each trying to bribe Neville on their side. Colin noticed a change when he walked in the
Great Hall and Ron ordered him to sit beside Ginny so Seamus could not.
“Ron is so bloody ugh!”
Ginny stirred her food, “I really like Seamus.”
“Shut up Ginny! This
is for your own good,” Hermione said Ginny gasped, the one thing Hermione had
to agree on with Ron, was something Ginny had hoped she wouldn’t.
When Seamus and Dean walked in with Neville reluctantly
following Colin was pushed aside by Ginny so Seamus could sit beside her, Dean
took the other side. Ron and Seamus’s glares nearly set the dinner on fire. They just stared without saying a word. The one to look away would be the loser. Dean tried to pick a stare off with Harry but
Harry refused so he settled with Hermione.
“Ginny,” Harry said softly to the near tears victim
there. Harry patted Ginny’s hand
encouragingly.
“Why?” Ginny went into a fit of tears.
“Ginny,” Harry tried to comfort her rubbing her hand gently.
“Because you’re supposed to be with
Harry!” Hermione and Ron echoed each other.
“What?” Harry, Ginny and Seamus chimed as Colin choked
violently on his chicken.
Harry managed to lean passed Hermione to give Ron the same inquiring
look that Ginny and Seamus were giving him.
Colin managed a glare filled with draggers at him.
“Well…”
“Does she even like him?” Dean asked.
“Does he even like her?” Seamus corrected Dean’s question.
“NO!” Harry said horrified, “I mean Ginny’s great but…no.”
Ginny sighed and Seamus seemed a bit at ease, “I
understand.” Ginny said.
“Come off it Harry’s gay,” Dean told them shocking everyone
including Harry who did not think it was that obvious.
“Dean, apologize,” Ron snarled.
“No,” Harry told Ron, “It’s all right. He’s telling the truth.”
Hermione looked disgusted and Ron looked betrayed.
“You owe me 12 galleons Shay,” Dean said excitedly, Seamus
groaned.
“No, no he doesn’t. Harry’s not. He’s not a bloody fairy,” Ron scolded.
“Yes, he is Ron,” Ginny argued for the disgruntled Dean.
“No,” Ron set his jaw, “I don’t believe it,” Ron stood up
and stormed away. Hermione glared at
Harry hatefully and quickly followed Ron.
“How’d you know?” Ginny asked Dean.
“Anyone who breaks up with Cho
Chang and isn’t dead has to be! I even
wonder about Cedric,” Dean said Seamus and Ginny laughed.
Harry was now without his best friends he folded his arms on
the table and rested his chin on them.
“Ahh Harry they’ll come around,”
Ginny rubbed his shoulder.
“Yeah, Seamus, Neville and I don’t mind,” Dean sympathized
with Harry.
“And we sleep in the same room as you,” Neville finally had
the nerve to speak up.
“You think Ron will have a problem with me and Gin now?”
Seamus wondered aloud.
“Hey you and Draco can get together!” Dean said excitedly
ignoring Seamus’s question.
“Do you want Ron to talk to Harry again?” Ginny scolded.
“All right Harry?” Dennis called from where he was eating
with the third years.
“Shut up,” Colin growled in the most vicious way that the
entire Great Hall fell into silence.
Harry glanced at Colin appreciatively. Dennis looked sick he not not know what he
had done wrong.
“Ha, our beater the terror,” Dean broke the silence and
slowly everyone went back to what they were doing. Dennis sulked out of the Great hall.
“Common Colin we have a transfiguration essay due,” Ginny
rose Colin stood as well.
“See you upstairs Ginny,” Dean said as Seamus got a kiss
from Ginny, “None for me?”
Ginny kissed the top of Dean’s head, “Behave,” Ginny warned
the two boys as she and Colin exited.
Ron and Hermione would have nothing to do with Harry but
Dean and Seamus took it upon there selves to become Harry’s new golden
trio. They claimed that it really was Harry
that made the group. Harry wasn’t
satisfied he wanted his best friends back, but people wanted so much from him, and
now Ron and Hermione made him feel like he had done something wrong. But Harry could not deny the truth. Mostly he could not lose Colin. Maybe if he did not have Colin he could fake
his preferences but the fact was that he did and he could not.
Likewise Dennis was hard to forgive Colin for his rage. Colin, however, took the time to catch up on
homework; he was waiting for a time when he could catch Harry without Dean or
Seamus. It was more difficult then Colin
had counted on and it was nearly a month before he got the chance.
Colin was waiting at the top of the stairs to the boy’s
dorm. It was nearly midnight and he was sure everyone was sleeping but Harry
had not come up from the Common Room.
Colin was tired of waiting to intercept him. So with a sigh Colin quietly made his way to
the common room. Harry stared into the
fire his eyes lost and hopeless as he looked.
Harry jumped when Colin put a hand on his shoulder, “Colin?”
“Yes,” Colin agreed it was he, Colin.
“He’s not coming, he’s never coming, he can’t come,” Harry
spoke looking back in the fire.
“That’s right,” Colin agreed dryly. He knew how important Sirius had been to
Harry; even Colin could not fix that.
“I need him, I need help I don’t know what to do about them,” Harry said painfully. He loved his friends why were they doing this
to him.
“Harry,” Colin began but he was not sure how to end. “I’m
here.”
“You’re not enough,” Harry sed sed he wasn’t trying to hurt
Colin even though it did hurt. Colin
knew Harry needed friends and guardians too.
Colin wanted to be everything for Harry, but he was just Harry’s and
that was not enough.
“For now I am all there is,” Colin’s words shook, they hurt
they hurt Harry and that hurt Colin but it was the truth. Harry deserved more he deserved friends and
family, the thought that he had lost those burned Colin.
Harry pulled Colin to his lap, “For now that’s all right,”
Harry reassured Colin soothing Colin’s worry.
Colin felt strange; he should be the one holding and
comforting Harry. He had to heal
him. Colin fidgeted this was not right,
but Harry melted into him anyway. Colin
did not need to hold him to help; he just had to be there. Colin relaxed rubbing Harry’s arms that
secured him.
“Neither can live while the other survives,” Harry said
faintly watching the flames flicker.
Colin tensed at the way Harry said those words. “I’m sorry Colin,” Harry whispered. Colin was sure Harry was really sorry for
something but he was not sure why. Colin
took each of Harry’s hands kissing them gently.
Harry was forgiven.
The words haunted Colin he knew they involved Harry. What did it mean he would die if the other
was not killed? Who exactly was the
other? And how could Colin make sure
that his other survived?
