Hermione woke early the next morning with a smile firmly planted on her face. The look she wore was sweet and chaste, could she really be falling for Draco Malfoy? Her smile soon turned to a frown, "objectivity," she mumbled under her breath, "it won't do him any good to have me falling all over him like Pansy Parkinson." She reached into her chest and withdrew a journal.
OBJECTIVE ONE
1. Insure Draco's interest.
A: Take a greater interest in personal grooming. Personal appearance plays a big part in how a potential mate perceives you.
B. Clothing makes the woman.
I. The odd sexy outfit now and again allows him to appreciate your figure.
II. Wear robes often. The generous cut of your school robes will leave him fantasizing about what lies beneath.
2. When you are wearing a sexy outfit, make sure he notices. Show off your good points.
A. Tight Bum
B. Long Legs
3. Use subtle means of flirting.
A. Flirting with a seductive smile or a sexy stare will say more than a thousand words.
B. Deliberately do provocative things and act like you don't know he's watching.
C. Smile at other boys
4. Don't let Draco get overconfident or cocky. Make sure he takes you seriously.
A. Keep him guessing
I. Punctuate your flirtation with mood swings.
II. Turn cold if he gets too adventurous
B. Don't be afraid to push him away if he over steps the mark.
I. A firm rebuke will show him who is in charge of the situation, it will be a while before he oversteps the mark again.
5. Don't make things too easy. Make him jump through hoops.
A. Set goals he has to accomplish in order to gain my trust.
I. Become more accepting of others.
II. Be kind to house-elves
III. Be kind to Hagrid and Remus even though he classes them as half-breeds.
IV. Be around the "boys" without getting abusive.
V. Control his friends when they get out of line.
B. Make sure he treats you like a gentleman.
I. You are his equal make sure he treats you as such.
C. Look for sincere acts of endearment,
I. gifts that show he is becoming aware of who you are.
II. Tenderness in his eyes rather than lust.
She studied the points of the first objective closely. What made Professor Snape think that pushing Malfoy away would lead to him cooling off for a sustained period of time? When she had heard about other boys trying to get it on with girls the moves and moans became common place until the girl finally relented, why would Draco be so different?
She let the matter drop. What really worried her was how her potions master knew her bum and legs were her best feature. No doubt about it, he was completely right, she was really proud of her lower curves. She had even taken to wearing shorts over the summer in a hope that someone would complement her, but the last person she wanted the complement from was Professor Snape. A smile graced her face. What the hell, at least her efforts didn't go completely unnoticed. So what if he checked out his students as long as they were of age and he didn't do anything about it. After all he was a man, right? This little tidbit of information only served to make him more human. And really, it was the first real complement she had been given since the Yule Ball. Did it really matter who it came from?
She shook her head as she climbed off the bed and got ready to meet the boys. Harry was probably panicking about his date with Daphne trying to plan every event down to the last second. It amazed her how such a confident boy could go to pieces over a pair of fluttering lashes and a dab of lipstick.

A frown played across Draco's lips as he ate his lunch. Next they had Care of Magical Creatures with the Gryffindors. How could he spend two hours in the company of that Half Giant fool with out a snide comment or a look of disdain was beyond him. This going to be two hours of absolute hell. He would have to feign interest in the class that he had only taken because he knew it was impossible to fail.
He emptied his plate and made his way across the lawn to the Neanderthals hut. He smiled brightly as he saw the mudblood surrounded by her bodyguards. Time to fan the flames he thought as he made his way towards them.
"Hermione, nice to see you I hope you enjoyed our evening last night," he said smiling at her tenderly.
"Yes thank you Draco," she replied with a sly smile and a slight blush on her checks.
"The view across the lake is really breath taking on a clear late summers' night," he added reaching over to place a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
He smiled as he saw the murderous looks filling the faces of her two closest friends, Ron had turned purple and Harry was busily grinding his teeth together as his hands clenched and unclenched in an attempt to regain his composure before Hermione noticed.
"I didn't think you would be taking Care of Magical Creatures," said Hermione, looking at him inquisitively, "I thought it would be one of the first lessons you would drop."
"No not at all," he replied, "the way that Hagrid brings the subject to life always fascinates me. It is such an enjoyable subject."
Hermione stared at him with a frown on her face, "I'm not stupid Draco, I know that you don't like Hagrid and are only taking the subject because it is a stone cert' NEWT. You don't have to pretend to actually like all my friends just treat them with the respect they deserve."
"I'm sorry," he replied with a somber face, "I was just trying too hard. I know how much he means to you, I didn't want..."
"Don't lie to me Draco," she said with pleading eyes. "Yes, I want to see that you've changed. But I want to see real changes. I don't want you to just give me lip service and say what you expect I to want to hear."
"But.."
She put her finger on his lips, "we'll talk about it tomorrow we really don't need to discuss this in public."
Draco stared at her, puzzlement written all over his handsome features. What the hell had he done wrong now? With Slytherins it was so easy, they knew you would lie to them, hell they expected it. They would have got nervous if you didn't lie to them once in awhile, wondering what you were scheming behind their back.
"Should have stuck with your own mate," jibed Ron smiling smugly at the look of confusion on Draco's face. "Girls like Hermione don't like your scheming lying Slytherin ways."

Harry paced up and down the entrance hall as he waited for Daphne to arrive. An afternoon that had started out looking so bleak had soon turned around. They had so much fun watching Hermione tear a strip off Draco and then watching him having to bite his cheek every time Hagrid did something worthy of his biting sarcasm. Now though his humor had turned to panic. It was twenty-five to seven and she was supposed to meet him at half past six. She wasn't coming. She had come to her senses and decided that she didn't want to have a boyfriend who couldn't even string two sentences together. Hell after the journey up on the train she probably thought that she would be better of with Crabbe.
He slumped down by the picnic basket and ran his hands through his hair, "what am I going to do? He thought as he looked at his watch, it was now twenty to seven. He sat imagining the laughter in the great hall when everyone realized that he had been stood up."
"Sorry I'm late," said a familiar female voice, "I hope you haven't been waiting long?"
"No just got here," he lied he had actually been ten minutes early.
"So what do you have planned then?" She inquired the seductive resonance of her voice sent shivers down his spine.
He looked up to face her and a look of astonishment filled his face, "y-you look divine," he splutter. He face soon turned into a wide grin, "definitely worth the wait."
Daphne looked around with confusion evident on her face, "What happened to the shy boy that I met on the train two days ago?"
"He's still here," laughed Harry, "he just became a little more confident because a beautiful young woman agreed to go out with him."
"Oh no you don't," she said with mock anger, "you agreed to go out with me there's no way I'm gonna let you two time me."
"Daphne Greengrass a man would have to be an absolute idiot to even look at another woman while going out with you," he said, linking his arm in hers and heading across the lawns.
"Oh you can look," she said smiling at him wickedly, "you can even talk to other girls I'm not the overly possessive type but if you lay a single finger where it shouldn't be then you have to find a new way to wave your wand."
A smirk filled his face, "I'll take that under advisement," his smirk was replaced with a frown, "what about Hermione and Ginny? I'm not prepared to give up my friendship with them for anybody, I might as well tell you now."
She stopped and looked him in the eye looking for any sign of a lie, "What are your feelings for Hermione and Ginny?"
His eyes took on a look of deep sadness. "As you know my parents died when I was just one. I lived the next eleven years with my muggle aunt and her husband being treated more like a slave than a nephew. Hermione and the Weasleys are the first family I have ever really known. I think on the two of them as my sisters, they're the one family I am not prepared to lose."
She linked his arm and started back down the path, a tear glistening in her eye. "If your feelings ever change for them I expect you to let me know," she said her voice sounded ragged trying to suppress the tears that lay just below the surface.
He held her hand tighter giving it a little squeeze, "you're one in a million do you know that?" He purred.
She nodded gingerly not trusting her voice. They walked for another five minutes before she looked around at her destination. "Wait a minute I thought you said we were going to have dinner down by the lake?" She asked staring at the greenhouses in front of her.
"One little thing I have to do first," he said letting go of her hand and walking towards the greenhouses. "You wait just there I'll only be a minute." And he rushed into the greenhouse containing Professor Sprout.
A couple of minutes later he walked out with a wicked smile on his face and his hands clasped firmly behind his back. She looked at him appraisingly trying to figure out what he what up to, until he stopped directly in front of her and drew his right hand forward.
"A rose for the beautiful lady," he said smiling down at her with affection in his eyes.
Her eyes spread wide as the glisten once again filled the corners, "with the thorns still on," she gasped trying to control the emotion rasping in her throat.
He nodded joyfully his heart skipping in his chest at the amount of affection written in her eyes, "other wise they just look false," he finished for her.
She took the rose from his hand and stared at it transfixed, "this is the most romantic thing anybody has ever done for me," she whispered, tears now falling freely down her face. She kept looking down not wanting her to see the effect a simple gift could have on her.
He clasped her chin in his hand gently running his thumb along the line of her jaw, feeling the electricity flow through their bodies as she lent her face deeper into his touch. He pulled her chin up so he could look her directly in the eyes, "you're worth it and a hundred times more."
She stood on her tiptoes and wrapped her arms around his neck, her eyes were so full of emotion it almost frightened him, as her lips brushed his in the gentlest of kisses. He gently returned the kiss as his whole body shook from the emotion present in that small tender kiss he lightly opened his mouth and traced her top lip with his tongue.
He pulled back and sighed with contentment, "strawberries," he whispered in her ear.
She pulled back slightly so she could see his face confusion written in her eyes, "your lips," he offered, "they taste like strawberries."
"Well durr," she said lightening the mood, "that's the flavor of my lipstick." "Come on," she said once again linking his arm we better eat this picnic before the whole school comes out.
They walked to the lake in silence he contentedly watched her twirling the single rose between her fingers, never taking her eyes of the perfect red flower. Yes he thought I've finally done something right for a change, as he slowly ran his thumb along the back of her hand.
They found a spot behind a copse of oak trees so they were completely hidden from the school lawns. They ate their dinner telling each other about their lives so far.
"So," said Daphne, "what made the great Harry Potter lower himself to go out with the likes of me?" She didn't look at him as she waited for the answer of the question.
He stared at her trying to make eye contact but she wouldn't look at him. "Is that how you see me? The great Harry Potter, The-Boy-Who-Lived, savior of the wizarding world?" The bitterness was evident in his voice.
"No!" She said turning her gaze to look him directly in the eye so he would know her words were true. "I don't give a fig for all that hero worship. I'm a Slytherin remember, we don't look to kindly on people who think they deserve hero status,"
He bit his lip could he tell her how would she take it if he told her that the real reason he had the guts to ask her out was to compete with the Ferret? "You're a special girl Daphne Greengrass, intelligent, funny especially when it's at my expense, you are great fun to be around, and my knees go week when ever I look at you." His face was brighter than Ron's hair sitting here telling a girl how he really felt about her, even if he did back out of telling her about the bet.
She reached out and ran her hand along his cheek, "you really mean that?"
He nodded his head in assent, "There is nobody in this entire school who is better than you are, not a single person in this whole school who is better than you. Not Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy, and definitely not Cho Chang, so don't you go selling yourself short."
"You didn't say Ron Weasley or Hermione Granger, I get the feeling that if it came down to a choice between them or me, I would lose?" She said still stroking his cheek with her hand, "That's, That's OK," she whispered looking down, "They've been your friends since forever, I couldn't hope to compete with them."
"You aren't competing with Hermione or The Weasleys, they are like family to me. Something I never really had until I started Hogwarts, they have become special to me but in a platonic way. I will never become romantically involved with Hermione Granger or any of The Weasleys."
Daphne started to giggle, "What?" He asked looking at her with confusion in his eyes.
"Nothing," she coughed her face turning a bright shade of puce.
"Tell me," he said with a mock stern look on his face, "you don't want me to go all Snape on you do you?"
She looked at him for a minute her face turning redder as she tried in vain to stop her fit of giggling, "OK," she spluttered, "it's just when you said you would never become romantically involved with The Weasleys, I imagined you down here with the twins vying for your affections."
Harry nearly choked, as shards of pumpkin pastry showered across the lake. "That's some imagination you've got there," he coughed taking a sip of juice to try and clear his throat. "Beside, I think that Angelina and Alicia might have something about that."
"Ooh gossip," she beamed, "Which one's with which?"
"Fred's with Angelina and George is with Alicia."
"How would they know?" Said Daphne with her face scrunched up in thought, "the boys could swap when ever they wanted and the girls would never know."
"I don't think even the twins are stupid enough to upset Angelina and Alicia," laughed Harry, "besides, George has got a scar on his stomach from when he fell of his broom and got lanced by an old oak branch."
Daphne shuddered at the imagery of a young George being stuck on a tree branch, "enough of the twins lets get back to you and me," she said reaching over and kissing him firmly on the lips. As her mouth opened to taste the flesh of his lips, a slight tingling sensation enveloped his body. He moved his lips apart to afford her access to his mouth. Their tongues met and a shot of electricity shot through his body forcing a warm feeling in his stomach. The kiss became more passionate, their tongues fighting for dominance over the other Harry had to fight the urge to ravage her where he was.
Daphne had no such compunction in holding back she pulled the wizard into a tight embrace her arms searching his back through the light weight shirt he wore, as her tongue searched his mouth. Harry took her actions as assent for him to follow suit. He was overwhelmed by sensation the heat passing from their bodies through the thin material of their school shirts. He could feel the extent of her arousal as her erect nipples rubbed tantalizingly against his chest, drawing a low guttural groan from his throat.
The sensation passing through his fingers as his hands roamed across her back was intense. He carefully schooled his movements one hand combing through her soft sensuous golden locks while his other hand moved from her neck to the base of her spine careful not to wonder below the waistband of her skirt.
Eventually she collapsed onto his chest curling up tight giving a guttural groan of frustration. He pulled her closer to him a smug grin filling his mouth, "that was... Wow."
She started to giggle, "It's funny how boys are always so good at expressing the way they feel."
She worried her lip with her tongue and a worried look filled her face, he reached down and kissed her on top of her head, "come on spill."
She looked at him with confusion in her eyes, "Something is bothering you and I can't help you if you keep it to yourself so?" He asked softly.
"I
I jumped you like some wanton woman, you, you probably think I'm easy," she mumbled barley above a whisper. "You probably think I'm a typical Slytherin."
"So you're not proud of being a Slytherin? it's something to be ashamed of?" He asked his eyebrow raised?
She shuck her head forcefully, "I wouldn't want to be in any other house."
"So stop making it sound like it's an ailment to be ashamed of," he reached down and kissed her on top of the head. "I or nobody in this school thinks that you are easy."
"Really?" she turned her face up to look him in the eyes.
He smiled down at her planting an affectionate kiss on her lips. "All that I've heard for the last two days is, 'You've got your work cut out with that one, she' as tight as a ducks arse."
Her face fell at the comment as she looked down at the ground, "I, I'm not that bad."
"Hey," he said, "you hadn't met the right person, once you did you were crammed full of passion," he kissed her on top of the head.
She giggled into his chest, "I was wasn't I."
He let out a sigh as he remember how he had spent the last hour, "You are my little minx and mine alone."
She let out a sigh to match his as they snuggled down to enjoy the comfort of the others embrace.

"Four bloody hours," said Zabini as he looked at his watch.
Draco looked at him with a raised eyebrow to match Snape's.
"Four bloody hours she has been out with the bane of our existence," he stood up and started to walk for the door. "I'm going to see what the hell she thinks she's playing at."
"You'll leave her alone," snapped Draco, "it's none of your bloody business."
"She' a Slytherin and he's the sodding boy-who-lived," spat the dark haired wizard, "that make's it all of our business."
"No," said Draco, "that makes it my business or Snape's Business it has nothing to do with you."
Zabini sat down and wrote a quick note. He smirked at The Prince of Slytherin, I wonder how much longer you will be so high and mighty when my father takes this to The Dark Lord," he whispered in his ear, and he rose from the sofa and out of the common room slamming the portal behind him.
Ten minutes later Zabini stopped dead in his tracks as he entered The Owlery. "What are you doing here?" He asked the blond wizard leaning against the wall, how on earth did he get here before him?
"I told you that nobody does anything in Slytherin without my say so!" Draco declared haughtily. "Did you really think that I would let you get away with talking to me like that?"
"I
I've got a right to send letters home to my parents," said Zabini looking around the room for support, but they were alone.
"You act of insubordination was an attempt to usurp my position as Prince of Slytherin." The blond looked at him with disdain on his face, "Well go for it, you think you can take me give it your best shot."
"I'm not prepared to fight you Malfoy," said the young wizard looking down at the floor.
"You have two choices," said the blond, "either you attack me or I throw you out of the window and see how high you bounce."
The dark haired wizard dropped to his knees, "please Draco I never meant question your authority. I, I know now that I was out of line." He lifted the letter in front of his face and tore it to shreds, "look all gone, we can go back to the way we were."
Draco looked away from his house mate in disgust. It was well known that Gryffindor was the house of bravery, but he expected his peers to have more backbone than this. When he had put up his challenge to Flint the first time he knew he was going to lose, but he didn't cower on the floor like some helpless muggle. No he took his punishment and came back stronger next time, shit it was the Slytherin way.
He walked over to the window and looked down at the lake where he knew the happy couple would be. He was truly pissed off, the little tart had thrown herself at the bane of their existence, the parchment had gone ballistic all evening. Potter had scored more points in one night than he could hope to score over the whole week. That was fifty Galleons he would have to hand over to the git. He could see the smirk on his face already, Bollocks.
He had always liked Zabini and now he would have to punish him because he didn't like the fact that his house mate was falling all over Potter. Shit he would like nothing more then to give Bulstrode and Parkinson the green to put her in her place, but he couldn't do that. No he had to defend the whore against his loyal house mates. He had to punish a true Slytherin for calling him on the protection he afforded her. The wanker being a real coward was making his job all the harder. He had no problem beating his friend in a fair fight but kicking a man when was on the floor was not his style.
Zabini's eyes followed Malfoy's every movement, studying him closely. The moment he thought that his concentration was truly else where he drew his wand, "stupefy."
As stated in the film the fifty first state, 'Bollocks' means something is bad but 'The Dog's Bollocks' means something is really good. Bollocks are another name foe testicles, and a dog's take some licking.
Wanker is another name for someone who masturbates.
HaryPoter The story will build up slowly I don't think that the characters would jump into bed on the first date. I'm sorry if it is running too slowly for you, but I promise that the character interaction will increase
Anon Thanks as I said the story needs to build up the characters are not going to jump each other.
Dragon34 not sure who will win the bet but Harry looks in pole position to win the first round, as Daphne is really taken by him but Hermione is still keeping Draco at arms length.
