Chapter Five: Oh, You Remember Prince Harry Potter, Don\'t You?

The cooks and maids bustled about the corridors getting ready for the Unition Ball. They worked their fingers to the bones, hoping to get it ready. The staff was perfectly capable of producing a wonderful party. However, this was not to be a \"wonderful party,\" this was to be a spectacular one. The food was beyond the perfect, the castle beyond spotless, the decorations beyond amazing. Everything was beyond any sort of expectations.

This party was to be one to remember. This party was the last thing Harry wanted to do. Harry had done another disappearing act for two years while he was with Tom, and now it was time to face everyone . . . as Tom\'s fiancé. Of corse local royals knew, but that was only about half the people coming. The other half had no idea, and the worst part was that in that other half of ignorant nobles was none other than the prince of Southern Slytherin, Draconis Lucian Malfoy, Harry\'s Dragon. Never had he told Draco a word of this.

Tom had promised that if Harry could find a husband within one month that he would set him free. Harry really did want to marry Draco, but he didn\'t want Draco to marry him to save him. He figured that by telling him he needed help, but not why, Draco would understand he needed an answer, but not feel obligated to say yes. He got his answer, Draco didn\'t love him, but Draco was still his friend and he would be furious when he found out whom he was engaged to. Was he going to lose the only thing that mattered to him?

Tom stepped into the front room of Harry\'s wing of the castle. He made sure it was the most decadent rooms of the castle and had the best view. Nothing but the best for his darling. Tom never noticed that no matter how good the view was Harry never really looked out the windows. Harry didn\'t see a lavish window seat, he didn\'t see the beautiful stained glass in the window, or even the intricate molding around the window, just the bars on them. He was miserable, and Tom knew it but he could offer no solace to his beloved, at least not what Harry wanted.

Harry never asked for exorbitant jewelry, he never beseeched for exotic clothing, no objects what so ever. Just \"fresh air\" or \"to go outside\" was all Harry would request for, not even for food. If it weren\'t for Tom\'s watchful eyes, Harry would\'ve starved by now. He just didn\'t care, so why should he bother eating?

None of these unhealthy habits did anything to Harry\'s appearance though. In fact, Harry had turned a pale color that made him look even more heavensent. He glowed and his eyes. Dear lord, His eyes. In his life Harry was calm, but the sorrow in Harry\'s eyes smoldered with a deep emotional emerald green of melancholy. Every time Tom looked at those eyes he fell in love with his beautiful Harry, blind to the plight of freedom they permeated with, blind to those eyes begging for freedom

Harry descended a marble staircase. Tom recalled the first time he saw his beloved, first time he lusted for someone, the first time he needed something, and first time decided he could not live without it. Harry was wearing an exquisite black leather outfit that fit snug on his slim frame. The long sleeves encased his lean arms and slowly melded into a tight vest with buckles on the right side, keeping it on the tiny creature. The theme of slim leather paired with buckles careened down his perfect legs. Harry found the outfit too much for his modesty, and hated it. For the first time in a long while Tom saw Harry\'s signature temper flare. Harry tried to reason, and even spoke coldly, but as the party grew near, his desperation grew too. Harry even tried begging not to wear it but to no avail.

Harry was escorted to the main room where the guest began to arrive. The first guests, some high rank soldiers came, followed by the elite, each guest more considerable than the last. Every person without a date in the room eyed Harry, and the rest merely gazed just as intent as the singles. Harry looked beautiful, and by the end of the party was sitting in one of the couches along the walls surrounded by a group of male admirers ensnared by the fair skinned seraph.

Draco walked into the ballroom earning a few eager hellos. Scanning the crowds, he was eager to see who was there and where Harry was. Draco searched for a mop of unruly hair, or perhaps a boy lurking in the shadows, for all Draco remembered about his demeanor was that he was rather plain with wild hair, and that he hated crowds. Draco tired narrowing down his places to look. Harry hates crowds, so he\'s not in the group of men gathered around the couch . . . after another minute of scanning Draco concluded that Harry wasn\'t there yet. Deciding to go talk to Tom, Draco walked around the room but he noticed the crowd around the couch started to dissipate.

Draco glimpsed the crowds focal point, moving around. He could easily understand why he attracted attention. He had to have been one of the most enchanting creatures to walk the earth, with inky tendrils of hair framing his angelic face, creamy white skin, he looked amazing. He wore a tight leather garb, in a very fashionable style, which sinfully clung to his perfectly petite frame. Draco knew he\'d never seen a creature like this but he felt some sort of deja vu connecting him to the creature. He needed to talk to him. He started to walk up to him . . .

\"Hey Draco!\" (Dammit Blaise!)

\"Hello.\"

\"Where have you been? You\'re late for the party! Hey! Are you listening to. . . oh.\" Blaise said in understanding.

\"What?!\"

\"You\'re looking at him.\"

\"Who?\"

While they talked, Draco saw Tom approach the angel in a predatory way.

\"Grew up nice didn\'t he?\"

\"Who?!\"

\"Tom\'s fiancé! Duh, Draco! Keep up with me here!\"

Then as if to enforce the last sentence while Draco processed that Tom had something so beautiful, Tom swung his arm around the much smaller man, and pulled him close from behind. The angel didn\'t respond, just seeming to shut off and zone out during the action, eyes obtaining an indescribably lonely hollowness to them. For some reason Draco felt the urge to walk up and throw Tom off the obviously miserable boy. Instead, however, he walked up to Tom and his fiancé.

\"Hello, Tom.\" said Draco working his hardest to sound aloof and avoid staring at the man in Tom\'s arms. Tom returned a fake smile, greeting Draco, \"Hello, glad you could come! It\'s nice to have these breaks during the war, isn\'t it, Draco?\" the man stiffened at hearing the name. Interesting. Strike a nerve? pondered Draco, So he\'s heard of me. I wonder where?

\"Indeed, Tom. And you are?\" Draco asked, piercing the angel with his steely, grey eyes.
Tom answered for the boy, \"Oh, you remember Prince Harry Potter, don\'t you?\"
