Title: The Power Of Blood

Rating: R

Summary: Severus has been captured by Aurors for the murder
of Dumbledore and the rape of Hermione. He requests something unusual and the
lives of everyone will never be the same.

Chapter 5: The Ultimate Betrayal

�� I was summoned by
Voldemort a few days before I found out that my father was dying. He told me
that he knew that I wasn�t loyal to him and that he needed to prove that he had
full control over me. I didn�t understand how he knew that I was a spy, since I
had never let him go that deep into my mind. However I soon found out how he
had found out. Ron Weasley entered and bowed before the Dark Lord. He smirked
at me, like all his dreams were coming true.

�� He asked Voldemort
if he could punish Miss Granger as well. He had this stupid notion that she was
in-love with me and he wanted me to perform an act that would make her hate me
and go to him for comfort. Voldemort agreed and they brought Miss Granger in.
Minerva, he knew that Miss Granger couldn�t resist the Imperious Curse, like I
can�t. Voldemort put it on both of us and well, you know the rest.�

He concluded and waited for her reaction. She was shocked.

�� Ron Weasley, a
Death Eater,� McGonagall said, her face going white.

Severus nodded.

�� But, he�s in
Gryffindor,� McGonagall protested.

�� Minerva, he won�t
be the last person in Gryffindor to go over to the dark side,� he said. �We all
know that Mr. Weasley has been jealous of Potter since the moment he arrived.
Look at how he reacted when Potter got chosen for the Triwizard Tournament even
though Potter told him that he hadn�t put his name in. He wants fame and glory.
And Voldemort has offered it to him. What more to you want to know? And he�s
now with Potter and he�s looking for the very thing that Ron doesn�t want him
to find. He�s going to leave Potter right into Voldemort�s clutches.�

�� I�ll agree with
that, Minerva,� said the ghostly voice of Dumbledore.

Severus almost fainted when he turned around and saw the
former Headmaster.

�� Severus, I would
like for you to meet the proof,� McGonagall told him.

Dumbledore smiled at him.

�� Sorry, my boy, for
scaring you like that,� he said. �I�ve just come from the Ministry and they�ve
cleared you of all charges. Now back to business.�

�� Yes,� Severus said
slowly, turning back to face McGonagall. �We need to get Potter away from Mr.
Weasley before Voldemort gets him. Has he sent any letters that tell you where
he�s at?�

McGonagall nodded.

�� He�s going to
Riddle�s old stomping grounds,� McGonagall said. �He thinks that Helga�s cup
might be there.�

Severus sighed.

�� The only thing
that�s there is old memories. However, I know where Hufflepuff�s cup is at as
well as Slytherin�s locket.�

McGonagall stared at him.

�� Where is
Hufflepuff�s cup?�

�� I have it,� Severus
said. �I got it and transfigured it into a coin. I need a wand to turn it back
to normal. Voldemort has no idea that I even got it. I was going to turn it in
to prove my loyalty to the Order. Slytherin�s locket is still in the Black
Manor. Of course, only Potter can get into the Black house since he owns it
now. I also have news that not all the Granger�s were killed.�

McGonagall really stared at him.

�� Before I was
brought before Voldemort I knew that he would try and kill the Granger�s,�
Severus said. �I went to the Granger�s and told them of the danger. They handed
their other daughter to me and she�s staying with Dumbledore�s brother. I
dropped her off, with a note, telling him that today he is to drop her off at
Hogwarts.�

McGonagall gasped.

�� Oh my god, you
saved Hermione�s sister,� she said.

�� Please, Minerva, don�t
turn into a human hosepipe,� he said harshly. �I did it because no little girl
needs to suffer at the hands of a cruel man.�

�� Well, it�s nice to
see that you�re still acting like a Slytherin.�

Severus sighed.

�� Ya, like a
Slytherin,� he muttered.

McGonagall knew that this was a sore subject for him.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

�� When
Severus had left, McGonagall sent a letter off to Harry, telling him that the
Order needed him. She put a charm on it to make sure that he got it and that he
arrived at Hogwarts, no Ron. She also needed to tell Moody and Remus about what
Severus had said. She just hoped that she wasn�t too late.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

�� Harry was
surprised when he got a letter from McGonagall. As soon as he touched it, he
felt a tug behind his navel and he soon landed in Professor McGonagall�s
office.

�� I�m glad that you�ve
gotten my letter,� Professor McGonagall said.

Harry looked at her.

�� I�m sorry that you�re
not pleased with how you were brought here, but I needed to do this so that you
would be safe. A Death Eater is watching your movements and thanks to some
important information, I was able to keep you from Voldemort�s hands.�

Harry got up, alarm written all over his face.

�� Albus, why don�t
you show yourself,� McGonagall said.

�� Harry
almost yelled when Dumbledore appeared through the wall. He smiled at Harry and
Harry tried to smile back, but couldn�t. Finally McGonagall�s voice brought him
around.

�� Albus, why don�t
you tell him what we know about this Death Eater.�

�� As you wish,�
Dumbledore said. �Harry, your friend has gone over to Voldemort�s side.�

�� What!� Harry said.

�� It�s true,�
McGonagall said. �We found out this information through one of our spies. Ron
told Voldemort that Hermione and Severus couldn�t resist the Imperious Curse.
Severus didn�t rape Hermione; he was forced to by a wizard that we all counted
as our friend. Ron hoped that Severus would be sent to Azkaban so that he could
have Hermione.

�� He thought that
Hermione was in-love with Severus. That�s not true and now both are scared
beyond help. Severus, will never touch another woman and Hermione will take
along time to touch a man. You already know that this is something that no one
can truly walk away from.�

�� And who told you
this line?� Harry spat.

�� Severus did and he
was under a truth potion, one that�s brewed by the Ministry,� McGonagall lied. �He
insisted that a Ministry approved brew was used on him, so that no one could
say that he had done something to it. Also, he saved Hermione�s sister from
Voldemort�s hands, but, alas, he couldn�t save the parents. And I blame myself
for that. I didn�t listen and it caused Hermione�s parents their lives.�

�� Harry, Ron wants
you dead, he wants us all dead,� Dumbledore said. �I�ve cleared Severus of all
wrong-doing and he�s going to be the new Herbology teacher and Deputy
Headmaster. McGonagall is going to demand that you stay at Hogwarts and go
through your final year. I�m also going to have Severus teach you how to defend
yourself.�

�� And on another
note, we found Hufflepuff�s cup.�

Harry stared at her.

�� You found her cup,
but how?�

�� Severus brought it
with him,� McGonagall said. �And he�s going to help us destroy it. Also he said
that Slytherin�s locket is located in Black�s house. I believe that Kreacher
got it when you were all cleaning the house.�

Harry remembered that Kreacher wanted to keep all of the
Black things.

�� I�m going to have
Remus take you to the Black house to get the locket. Then both will be
destroyed and Voldemort will be two steps away from being mortal,� McGonagall
said.

�� Harry, remember
when I told you that Voldemort used his snake to hold part of his soul?�

Harry nodded.

�� There�s a spell,
which I know Severus will teach you, that will enable you to get the snake
without leaving the school. Once she is destroyed, then Voldemort will be
mortal like the rest of us,� Dumbledore continued. �Also, I�ve got a bad
feeling that Voldemort is going to try and get rid of Severus before he can aid
you in getting both the locket and the snake. He knows that Severus has this
information and will kill him for it. Like I told you in your first year,
Voldemort shows as little mercy for his followers as his enemies.

�� Severus is his
enemy, as Severus discovered when Ron not only told Voldemort of Hermione and
Severus weakness, but that he was a spy. Severus had no evil feelings for
Hermione and called upon a blood bond. Something that has been lost to
Hermione, because I fear that certain memories of Hermione�s was modified, like
what Ron did, but not of the act itself. She doesn�t know what a blood bond is,
something that I believe, is a first for her.�

�� Sir, what is a
blood bond?�

�� A very powerful
form of magic, I believe that Merlin created it himself. A blood bond is a
magical bond that protects the child from attack. However, it can�t be used for
gain, but out of the kindness of the heart. Severus has taken responsibility and
I believe that as Hermione gets near time to deliver, he will grow fiercely
protective of both the baby and the mother. Only when he sees his child will
the blood bond be complete and I believe that he will die to protect the child,
giving it the same protection that Lily gave you. For the child will know love,
something that Voldemort has never known!�

Harry was having a hard time processing this.

�� Harry, you can�t
continue to look for the Horcruxes,� McGonagall said. �As that part of your
quest is over. We need you to finish your schooling here, to protect Hermione
and her sister from not only Voldemort�s, but Ron�s, wrath.�

�� But what am I
suppose to do if Ron writes?� Harry asked.

�� Tell him a lie, I�m
sure that you can do that,� McGonagall said sharply. �And you mustn�t mention
the blood bond. If you tell Ron that, then Voldemort will find a way to destroy
that. Please, if you care about Hermione, you will do this.�

Harry nodded. He would do anything to protect his friend.
