Hermione opened her eyes slowly and then closed them again with a groan. She flipped onto her back and lifted the pillow that sat next to her and smashed it onto her face with two hands. What she really wanted to do was fall back asleep for at least two more days.
She threw the pillow back down onto the bed and pushed herself onto her elbows. She had fallen asleep on top of the covers last night, but sometime during the night she had curled up in her bed. Now many different layers of blankets were spread her and she wished that she could just cuddle back up in them. But a glance at her clock told her that that was impossible.
It was 12'oclock in the afternoon. She had already missed breakfast and her stomach was growling so she pushed herself out of bed and walked toward the bathroom. Her shoulders were hunched and despite the fact that her bed was actually quite comfortable, she still had a pretty bad kink in her neck from yesterday's travels.
The floors were made of slippery hardwood and were cold under her feet. She felt for a light switch on the bathroom wall as she yawned loudly and scratched her stomach. The bathroom was small, yet comfortable. There was a window against the far wall that aloud Hermione to look out over the grounds. The walls were painted a light beige color and white flowers sat in a vase next to the sink. A small shower sat to her right and she walked straight over to it and turned the nob so that warm water flowed out of the shower head above her. A large mirror hung on the wall above a marble countertop, and she grabbed a folded towel that sat in front of it before pealing off her clothes and dropping them to the floor. She then stepped into the tub and closed the shower curtain behind her.
Hermione leaned her head against the tile wall of the shower as the warm water flowed over her body in soothing waves. She sighed as she turned around to let it run through her hair and then down her back. She tilted her head to the side and winced.
"Merlin..." she groaned as she lifted a hand to her neck and rubbed. She tried rotating her head around in an effort to work out the kinks, but finally gave up as she reached for the tiny bottle of shampoo and poured some into her open palm.
Fifteen minutes later, Hermione stepped out of the shower with a towel wrapped around her body. It felt colder than before and goose-bumps broke out over her skin as she ran into her room and searched for her trunk. After searching around for a few moments, she remembered that she had fallen asleep before they were able to bring it into her room. She hadn't woken to them knocking on her door. But where else would they have taken it?
Hermione sat down on her bed next to the small coffee table and picked up the phone on top of it. She listened to the dial tone for a moment before dialing 1.
"Room service, this is Toshi, how may I help you?" said a male voice from the other end of the phone.
"Uh, hi. This is Hermione Granger in room 105. Last night I fell asleep before they were able to bring my luggage into my room and -"
"- Ah, yes. Ms. Ari told me to let you know that they did not want to disturb you last night so they left your trunk with your traveling companion in room 106."
"...They left my stuff with Malfoy?" Hermione asked.
"Yes, ma'am. Mr. Malfoy in room 106."
"Um, okay. Thanks," Hermione said, as she slowly hung up the phone. She sat still for a moment, shivering on her bed with her hair dripping wet and then rolled her eyes and groaned. She stood and made her way into the bathroom and then pulled back on her wrinkled, old clothes. She then grabbed her room key from her night stand and walked barefoot out of her room.
No one was around as she peaked down the hall and made her way over to Malfoy's door. She glanced up at the room number before knocking on the door and then folding her arms across her chest.
Man it's freezing in here, She thought to herself as she waited for Malfoy. It only took a few moments until she heard the lock click and the door swung open. Hermione had to physically stop her mouth from falling to the floor.
Malfoy stood leaning against the doorway in loose fitting pajama bottoms, and nothing else.
Hermione swept her eyes over his body and nearly drooled at the perfection of his perfectly sculpted chest and stomach. His grey sweatpants hung low on his hips and one of sexiest muscles that she had ever seen went from each of his hip bones and traveled down his lower stomach to disappear below his pant line. Light blond hair curled around his navel and went downward and Hermione followed it with her eyes until she heard Draco clear his throat.
She gasped and her eyes shot back up into his own, where he had one eyebrow raised and a smirk on his face. His hair was wet and was tied back into a small bun and Hermione felt her cheeks turn red with something more then just embarrassment.
"Can I help you with something?" he asked in a bored tone. Hermione narrowed her eyes and uncrossed her arms.
"I believe you have my things," she snapped at him. She looked past him and into his room where she could barely make out her trunk sitting next to his bed. But when she looked back up at him, she found that his eyes were no longer on hers. She followed his gaze downward until they stopped on her chest.
Her white tea shirt had become wet due to her long sopping hair and her thin bra did nothing to hide the fact that her nipples were erect from the cold air. She might as well not be wearing a shirt - he could make out every detail.
Hermione gasped and crossed her arms over her chest. "You pig!" she yelled at him. He looked back up into her face and smiled.
"And what does that make you?" he asked with a smirk. "I do believe that you were...how would you put it...having "eye sex" with me just a moment ago." Hermione opened and then closed her mouth again. She humphed and raised her chin into the air.
"I was not," she said, and she heard Draco chuckle and then move away from his door. She watched him out of the corner of her eye as he bent down and picked her trunk up in two arms. He walked back over to her and motioned for her to move aside with a bob of his head.
"Where's your room?" he asked. Hermione narrowed her eyes at him once more before turning on her heal and walking toward her room. Draco stopped as she pulled out her room key to open her door and she pushed it open and stood aside for him to walk past her. She followed him inside and couldn't help but glance over the muscles on his back. His shoulders were large and strong as he dropped her trunk to the floor and they shifted under tight skin. Hermione breathed in deep through her nose and shook her head clear before Draco turned back around and walked past her toward the door.
"You sleep in late or something?" he asked as he exited into the hallway.
"Yeah. You didn't?" Draco shook his head and pushed a string of hair behind his ear.
"Nope. Had breakfast with Ari," he said with a smirk, wagging his eyebrows at her in suggestion. Hermione rolled her eyes and went to close the door but his hand flew forward and stopped it before it was all the way shut. Hermione opened the door again and glared at him.
"What?" she snapped at him. He pushed his hands into his pockets and sighed.
"When do you want to get to work?" he asked her. Hermione closed her eyes and put her hands behind her back. Work was the last thing she wanted to do at the moment, but they came here for a mission and that's what they had to focus on...though she was sure that the ministry wouldn't mind her taking a few hours to re-situate herself.
"Meet me in the dining hall tonight," she said. "6:30." Draco nodded and then turned and left. Hermione shook her head and closed the door behind him and walked into her bedroom. She was pleased to see that the protection spells she had placed over her trunk had not been broken, leading her to believe that Malfoy had not snooped through her things.
...Malfoy. He was an odd man, Hermione could be sure of that. She hated to admit it, but at times during this trip, he had surprised her. Performing small tasks that she would have never thought him to lower himself to do. As she pealed off her disgusting clothes and opened her trunk, she mentally slapped herself a few times for the thoughts that had just a few moments ago been rushing through her head.
She couldn't believe that she had been checking Malfoy out...
...yes she could. He was a very physically attractive man and Hermione took notice to that fact just as thousands of other women have. It was a good thing that his personality stunk. Otherwise Ron might of actually had something to worry about.
Pity, Hermione thought as she sighed and shook her head. When he opened his mouth she was drawn back to the fact of exactly why she hated him.

Draco closed his bedroom door behind him and walked toward the small red couch that sat beside his bed. He flopped down on top of it and crossed his legs in front of him as he stretched his arms out over his head and sighed.
He was still very tired from yesterday's journey. He was able to sleep very little through the night, tossing and turning on his bed for the majority of it. He blamed it on the fact that his bed wasn't comfortable, but really it was because he wasn't used to sleeping anywhere other than his home.
And he was a long way from home.
Draco closed his eyes and lied his head back against the couch. A smile crept onto his face as he thought about earlier that morning when he had met Ari in the dining hall...
"Good morning Mr. Malfoy," Ari said with a smile.
"Good morning," Draco said, as he smiled back. He was sitting alone at a small table where coffee and a newspaper sat in front of him. He closed his newspaper and sat it down on the table.
"How did you sleep?" she asked. Draco scanned his eyes over her body. She came up to about his chin and her frame was small, yet curved. Her hair was currently tied back in a long ponytail and was draped over her shoulder. She wore no makeup, but it was obvious that she didn't need it. Besides, Draco liked women who could look beautiful without the help of products or spells. She had on a loose fitting black dress that hung down to her ankles where black sandals sat on her feet.
"It was lonely," he said, and her eyes widened for a moment before she smiled again and nodded. Draco kept his face cool - he had no problems with being blunt.
"I'm sorry to hear that," she said. "But surely Ms. Granger..." She snapped her mouth closed and her cheeks turned the most charming color of pink that Draco had ever seen. "Forgive me, that is not my place."
Draco smiled and patted her hand with his own. "Granger and I are not together," he said. Her eyes snapped back up into his own and her face brightened. Draco smirked. Looks like this'll be easier than I thought.
Draco invited her to finish breakfast with him and he could tell that she was still embarrassed as she tried to refuse, but he had gotten her to sit with him in the end. They spent most of their time talking about their homes and families, and although he cared little for small talk, he knew that it was a necessary step in his overall plan. If there was one thing that Draco knew about women, it's that they love to talk about themselves.
After a half hour or so, Ari glanced down at her watch. "I'm sorry Mr. Malfoy -"
"- Call me Draco," he said. Ari smiled and nodded.
"I'm sorry Draco. But I really must be going." She stood and brushed a stray lock of hair behind her ear before bowing and turning away from him.
"Perhaps you'd like to have dinner with me tonight?" Draco asked her as she began to walk away. Ari turned back around with a frown.
"I'm sorry Mr. Mal...Draco. But I have previous arrangements. Perhaps another night." She bowed once more and then left. Draco watched her back as she turned the corner and out of sight. The smile hadn't left his face.
It didn't matter. He preferred a challenge.

After Hermione had dressed and cleaned up for the day, she left her room to go and explore the castle. For the first time since arriving, she saw other people walking about. She could tell from their dress that they were muggles and she wondered why Ari would spend her time running a muggle hotel in such a remote place. It was obvious that she was quite a powerful witch, being in contact with the ministry and all.
Hermione also noticed that the other people in the hotel seemed to be upper-middle class. A lot of them were wearing expensive looking clothes and jewelry and she didn't miss the looks that many of them gave her as she walked past them.
She was currently wearing a clean pair of dark jeans and a black long sleeve shirt that clung to her body. She'd had it for a few years, and since then it had shrunk a little. It now showed off a tiny bit of skin around her mid section and although Hermione normally wouldn't care, she found herself grabbing the bottom of her shirt and yanking it down every few moments. She felt that she looked far too casual compared to the other people around her.
One thing she didn't doubt for a second was that Malfoy was getting along just fine in this company. Despite the fact that they were muggles, they were rich. Malfoy didn't like to stray too far from his own kind, and she could only guess how he felt traveling with a mid-class witch like her.
Hermione nodded her head to an old couple as she passed by, and they nodded back with fake smiles. As soon as she passed them, she heard them muttering madly in German, and she could only guess the things that they were saying about her. She sighed and pulled her shirt down once more.
I don't look that bad, she thought with a frown. Tired of dealing with the people around her, Hermione exited the castle and walked into the garden area.
It was pretty cold outside, so she was the only one present as she walked over a small wooden bridge that led over a little stream. She stopped in the middle of it and watched as a few koi fish swam beneath her. After a few moments she continued onward and then came to a stop in front of a sign with arrows pointing toward the different areas in the garden. The tea gardens were to her left and the sitting gardens were to her right, but she decided to go straight, through the strolling gardens.
She followed a small dirt path around the garden. To either side of her were vast amounts of japanese moss and bamboo and many different stones constructed the pathway. The garden was so green and alive and Hermione felt quite honored to be viewing it. She knew that this was an art that had been practiced for centuries.
Hermione found a bench in front of a small pound where two lanterns were placed. Hermione smiled because this was something that she did recognize. The two lanterns represented the female and then male elements of water and fire - yin and yang.
Much like Malfoy and I.
He was so different from her...but also sort of the same. He enjoyed the finer things in life - money, women, power. Hermione simply wanted a safe home with someone who loved her. They both strived to succeed in the ministry, and if things worked out the way that they wanted them to, they'd actually be spending even more time together as the heads of their departments.
One thing that this trip had taught Hermione so far was that he was not as defined as he would like people to think. There were many things in this world that he didn't understand. What did impress her was the way that he took something he didn't understand and worked through it until he did.
She hated to admit it, but there were a few things about him that actually weren't so bad.
After an hour or so, the sky started to darken and Hermione shivered. It was getting colder outside and she knew that it had to be close to 4:00. She stood and walked back toward the castle.
Once she had made it back to her room, Hermione walked over to her bed and sat down. She sat in silence for a few moments before picking up the phone and dialing 1.
"Good afternoon, this is Toshi, how may I help you?"
Hermione smiled. "Hello, this is Hermione Granger in room 105. I was just wondering if you could bring me up some wine."
"Of course, ma'am. We have a wide selection of wine, our most popular being Rice Wine, better known as sake."
"That sounds great," Hermione said. After thanking Toshi she hung up the phone and stretched out her arms. The smile had not left her face as she stood from her bed and moved to the small stereo on the opposite side of the room. She flipped through the channels before coming to a stop on a quick-beat song that she didn't recognize. Hermione danced along with the music for a few moments before walking to her trunk and throwing it open.
She really couldn't understand why she had become so bouncy and happy all of a sudden. She figured that it had to due to the fact that she was in a place that she had never before been with no expense to her. It was exciting and new.
After a few moments, Hermione heard a knock on the door. She opened it to see a young man carrying a tray with a wine bottle and a few small glasses.
"Sake?" he asked. Hermione nodded and moved aside for him to walk in and place the tray on the coffee table.
"Thank you very much," she smiled at him. Hermione led him back to the door. Once he was outside, he turned to face her with a blank expression and stuck out his palm.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I don't have any money." He dropped his hand to his side and Hermione bit her lip. "Here...wait a second, I'll go get some for you." She nudged past him and walked a few steps to Malfoy's door. She knocked twice and waited.
The door opened and Malfoy stood in the doorway. He looked pretty pissed off. He still wore no shirt and his hair was a mess around his head. His eyes were red and narrowed, and she figured that he must have been sleeping.
"What?" he barked at her. Hermione smiled at him and stuck out her palm.
"Can I have some money?" she asked. She felt like his teenage daughter, and that only made her smile grow wider as he stared at her through squinted eyes and then sighed and walked into his room.
He came back with a wad full of cash and stuck it in her hand. "What do you need money for?" he asked. He sounded like he was half-asleep.
"I got some sake and I need to tip the bellboy." Malfoy yawned and scratched his arm.
"I want sake," he said in the middle of his yawn. Hermione snorted and raised an eyebrow at him.
"Well you can have some of mine if you'd like," she told him. He rubbed a palm over his eye and nodded his head as he started closing his door.
"Alright," he said. Hermione shook her head and walked back to the waiting bellboy, who was watching them with a strange expression on his face.
"You guys speak Japanese?" he asked. Hermione nodded and handed him some money.
"Yep," she said. He stuck the money in his pocket and after one more glance, walked back to the elevator. Hermione laughed silently to herself and walked back into her room. A second after she shut the door, she heard a knock. She sighed and turned back around and opened it to see Draco, still looking half-asleep as he stared at her. He had pulled on a white-tea shirt but was barefoot as he pushed himself passed her into her room.
"Uh. Come in?" she told the now empty doorway. She turned around to see Malfoy sitting down on the couch next to her bed and grabbing a glass from the coffee table. He reached for the sake bottle and poured himself some before sitting back in the chair with a sigh. He took a long sip of his drink and lowered it back to the table. His teeth were clenched together and he took in a sharp breath before looking up at her.
"What?" he asked, staring at the expression on her face. She shook her head and sat down on her bed, to the right of him.
"Why don't you make yourself at home?" she asked sarcastically. Draco smirked and put his arms behind his head.
"No problem," he said. He yawned once more and Hermione reached forward to get her own glass.
"Yesterday finally catch up with you?" she asked as she poured herself some sake and lifted it to her mouth. She took a small sip and closed her eyes. Draco watched the expression on her face turn bitter and he smiled.
"You don't drink often, do you?" he asked. Hermione shook her head and lifted her fingers to pinch her nose and took another, larger sip. The same expression came back onto her face and Draco chuckled. Hermione swallowed a few more times, trying to get rid of the taste in her mouth.
"Ugh..." she groaned as she set her cup back on the table. She glanced back up at Malfoy and saw that he was smiling, and it was a real smile...not the forced or sarcastic one that she was so used to seeing. She hated to admit that made him look even more handsome.
"Then why drink it now?" he asked as he took another long sip of his sake. Hermione sighed and shrugged her shoulders.
"I don't know...because this place is so new and exciting and I wanted to try something that I wouldn't normally do," she said as she lifted her cup from the table and took another sip, and she found that this time, it wasn't so bad.
Draco pointed at her face and smiled. "Your cheeks are turning red," Draco told her. Hermione giggled and shrugged her shoulders again. She was feeling a little warm.
"So what's going on with you and Ari?" she asked him. He raised an eyebrow at her.
"Why do you care?" he asked. It wasn't that Hermione cared...she supposed that it was because, oddly enough, she enjoyed the moment of peace between them and wanted it to continue for as long as it could. Ari was just the first thing that popped into her mind.
"I was just curious," she said. Draco snorted as he poured himself another cup of sake and then downed half of it. He smacked his lips together and placed his cup back onto the table.
"Nothing's going on...yet," he said. Hermione rolled her eyes.
"How do you know she even likes you?" she asked. Draco stared at her as if she was stupid and laughed.
"Are you serious?" he asked. Hermione sighed. Looks like the moment of peace was over.
"Gah, never mind," she snapped, as she leaned back on her hands. She rolled her head from side to side and then lifted a hand to massage the back of her neck. She closed her eyes and winced as she moved over the knot. When she opened her eyes once more she saw that Draco was watching her.
"Your neck sore?" he asked. Hermione sighed.
"Yeah, pretty bad." Draco watched her for a few moments before scooting back on the couch and patting the empty space right in front of him. "Come here," he said. Hermione's eyes widened.
"W-what?" she asked. Draco shook his head and rubbed a hand over his face.
"I said...come here." Hermione continued to stare at him like a maniac.
"Why?" she asked him. Draco narrowed his eyes.
"Why do you think? I'll get rid of that knot in your neck if you want. But this is a one time offer - blame it on the sake." Hermione stared at the place between his open legs and then looked back up at him. What was she afraid of, anyway? This was Malfoy...It's not like she had to worry about him trying anything with her.
Hermione stood and began to walk toward him. Before she sat down, she grabbed her cup of sake and finished it in one giant gulp. The moment she placed her cup back on the table, she felt two strong hands grab her around the waist and pull her down on the couch.
She started to blush furiously as she felt Draco's thighs move closer on either side of her hips. His hands lifted to her hair and threw it over her left shoulder and then moved to her neck. The second they began to move, Hermione closed her eyes and moaned.
Draco smirked as he began to rub soothing circles over her neck and shoulders. After a few moments, her body relaxed and started to lean against him. Her neck hung forward and every once and a while, a small moan escaped her lips. He had learned this skill many years ago, and it never failed him.
...Although this was a completely different situation. Granger was not a woman that he was trying to seduce, simply a business associate he didn't want to hear complain anymore.
He moved his hands lower and lower down her back. He used his thumbs to press inward and then moved the rest of his fingers in a slow circle. Hermione arched to his touch and her head came close to resting on his shoulder. She moaned again, and Draco found that this wasn't going the way that he had thought it would...
...It felt amazing. She couldn't remember ever getting a massage and Draco sure knew were to move. Ron would never do this for her. Draco placed his fingers around the outside of her shoulders, and then moved inward at a slow, but strong pace.
Her breath was coming out faster now, and a strange feeling started bubbling in her lower stomach as she scooted backwards a bit more, wanting to get closer to the feeling inside of her. She heard Draco take in a sharp breath as she came in contact with his body, but he didn't stop moving his hands, and that was all that Hermione cared about at the moment. She could feel his hot breath against her neck and Hermione closed her eyes tighter as she leaned back against his hard chest and tilted her neck to the side. Draco suddenly stopped moving and she felt his breath move closer to her neck...
All of a sudden she felt something hard poke into the small of her back. She gasped as her eyes flew open and she jumped up from the couch. She looked down at Draco and saw that his face was flushed and he was breathing rather hard. He stared at her with an odd expression in his eyes and Hermione felt the strangest sensation run through her body. She closed her eyes and gulped and took a few steps back.
"Uh...W - We should probably get ready for dinner now," she said, ringing her hands in front of her. Draco cleared his throat and stuck his hands into his pockets as he stood. Hermione could tell by the way that he held his pants away from his body, that he was trying to hind something.
And she had a pretty good idea what that "something" was.
"Yeah," he said. "I'll meet you down stairs for dinner." He walked past her to the door and left. Hermione stood completely still for a few minutes, staring at the spot where he had been sitting.
Oh Merlin! She thought as she threw herself onto her bed and pushed a pillow over her face. Where in the hell did that come from!?
________________________________
Draco slammed his bedroom door closed and walked into the bathroom. He turned on the cold water and splashed it onto his face.
Dammit! Never would he of though in a million years that would find himself in that sort of situation with Granger!
...Although he hated to admit it, she was rather attractive once she cleaned up. She had a very natural look to her and Draco appreciated that in women. Her hair, once brushed, was actually very soft. And oddly enough, he enjoyed making her blush. Seeing that soft color spread across her cheeks was actually quite charming...
...no! no! no! NOT charming. This is Granger! Best friend to scar head and girlfriend to the weasel! She was a know-it-all brainiac brown-noser who cared as much about taste as she did about snapping dung beetles. She was the exact opposite of him.
In the end, Draco decided that the whole mess was simply due to the sake and not having been with a woman in a few days.
He would have to step up his game with Ari before something really bad happened...

After getting over the initial shock of the situation, Hermione stood and decided to get ready for dinner. She opened her trunk and took out a few potential outfits.
Now normally she wouldn't care what she wore, but she didn't want a repeat of this afternoon's walk through the castle so she grabbed one of the fancier outfits - a long red dress made of a soft flowing material. It went down to her ankles and a small slit went up to her knee. It was sleeveless and closed around her neck, but the back dipped low to her hips. She had boughten it a long time ago on a whim, but never got around to wearing it. She sorta liked the way it looked on her - it definitely showed off her slim shape and hourglass figure, things that not a lot of people knew she had.
Hermione grabbed her small makeup bag from her trunk and moved into the bathroom. She never wore makeup, but she always brought it with her when she traveled. She felt that this was a good night to use it, so she opened it up and poured the contents onto the countertop.
After applying a small amount of eye shadow and blush, she looked up at herself in the mirror. She didn't look a whole heck of a lot different then how she started, but it did make a difference. She picked up a tube of red lipstick and spread it over her lips. She smacked them together a few times and then grabbed her hair brush. She decided to twist her hair up into an elegant knot on the back of her head before looking into the mirror and smiling.
Getting all fancy was sorta fun.
Hermione walked back into the bedroom and slipped on her high heels. The clock told her that it was 6:15, so she turned off the bedroom light and walked into the hallway. After making sure that her door was locked, she walked into the elevator and told the man inside to take her to the second floor.
They stopped a few times to pick up other people that were making their way to the dining hall, and Hermione was pleased to see that this time they treated her as one of their own. There had even been a man who had glanced back at her and smiled seductively. His wife didn't miss it though, and she gave him a hard slap in the stomach and shot a death glare in his direction. Hermione smiled. It wasn't often that men noticed her and she had to admit that it felt quite nice for a change.
Once they reached the 2nd floor, Hermione exited and walked toward the seating booth. A small woman smiled at her as she approached.
"I'm meeting someone here. His name is Draco Malfoy," she told the woman, who nodded and led her through the hall.
She spotted him sitting alone at a table with a menu in his hands. He was wearing a white button up shirt and black slacks. His hair was tucked behind his ears, perfect as usual. The dim lighting in the room casted deep shadows over his face, causing his high cheek bones to look even more defined. He looked mysterious, and Hermione wasn't the first one to notice it.
A small table to the right of him sat two middle age women. They were very beautiful and looked to be of spanish decent. They were whispering quietly to themselves as they snuck sly glances in Draco's direction. He didn't seem to notice and he raised his head as Hermione came closer.
His face was blank for a few moments as he watched her approach, but after a few seconds he stood and motioned for her to sit down. Hermione smiled and took a seat across from him. The waitress came over and asked Hermione what she'd like to drink.
"Red wine," Hermione told her, and Draco raised an eyebrow at her as the waitress walked away.
"Still haven't had your fill?" he asked and Hermione rolled her eyes at him.
"Oh shut up," she said, and Draco chuckled.
"I was only kidding." He picked his own wine glass up from the table and took a sip. Hermione glanced around the room, still feeling a little awkward from the early events. Draco didn't seem to mind though and he placed his glass back on the table as he cleared his throat.
"So down to business," he said as he folded his hands on the table. "We know that Fur was recorded traveling into Osaka by foo powder."
Hermione nodded her head. "In through a fireplace near the Namba district." Draco sighed and picked up his wine glass once more.
"The fireplace belonged to a man named Mamoru. We don't know if he's an accomplice of Fur or not..."
"Well that's something we should find out," Hermione said. "Our next step should be to go to Osaka and find Mamoru. We can find out what he knows about Fur." Draco pursed his lips and shook his head.
"I believe there's more work to be done here before we move on," he said as he placed his glass on the table. Hermione narrowed her eyes and shook her head.
"I know what you mean by "work" and we're not sitting around while you try and get a woman into bed!" She spoke a little louder than she attended, and the two women that sat beside them glanced over at Draco once more, this time looking even more interested. She sighed and shook her head as Draco chuckled.
"I really hate the fact that you have a fan gathering wherever we go," she hissed at him quietly. Draco smiled at her.
"You want them to leave us alone?" he asked. Hermione said nothing as Draco grabbed her hand from the table. She was about to pull away when her gaze shot back into his own and she saw that he was watching her through passionate eyes. He slowly lifted her hand to his lips and placed a gentle kiss over the top of it. He held her gaze for a moment longer before setting her hand back down on the table.
Hermione's mouth was slightly parted as she watched his smile turn into a smirk. She glanced at the women out of the corner of her eye and saw that they had bitter looks on their faces as they turned straight again. Hermione frowned and shook her head at him, though the smug look never left his eyes.
The waitress came back with Hermione's drink and they placed their orders before she left again. They sat in silence for a few moments, drinking their wine and watching the people around them. After Hermione finished her first glass, she moved onto her second. After a few sips, she found herself in a comfortable state as she turned her gaze toward Draco, and saw that he was smiling at her again.
"You sure are a happy guy," Hermione said with a raised eyebrow as she took another sip of her wine.
"You sure like to drink," he responded, and Hermione set her glass back on the table and narrowed her eyes at him.
"Oh, shut up buzz kill," she said, causing Draco laugh. His laugh was deep and genuine and Hermione couldn't help but giggle along with him. She knew that she should've stopped drinking back in the hotel room, but she was having fun for a change, and that didn't happen very often.
The waitress brought their food a few moments later and they sat quietly while they ate. Soft music was playing in the background and Hermione poured herself a third glass of wine.
And that was a mistake.
After they finished eating and the food was cleared away. Hermione was leaning heavily on her palm and staring at Draco with a goofy smile on her face.
"Why are you such an asshole?" she slurred. Draco snorted in laughter.
"Why are you such a prude?" he asked. Hermione's mouth fell open and she shook her head dramatically.
"I am not a prude!" she said. She closed her mouth and sat quietly for a few seconds before bursting into laughter. "I am a prude, aren't I?" Draco smiled and nodded his head. "Well, when I went into Hogwarts I felt that had to prove myself, ya know? I didn't know that I was a witch until a few months before going to school, but you have been a part of this world your entire life!" Draco smiled and raised an eyebrow.
"You were the smartest witch in our class," he said. "Why would you feel that you needed to prove yourself?"
Hermione sat straight and hiccuped. "Because I'm muggle born." Draco stiffened in his seat...he didn't like where this was going. "I hadn't known that there was racism toward muggle borns until...well, until I met you." She was staring down at the table and Draco rubbed a hand through his hair.
"Yeah, well. I was an twit," he chuckled. Hermione looked back up at him and smiled, though it didn't reach his eyes.
"How come we hate each other?" she asked. Draco breathed in deep through his nose and shifted uncomfortably.
"Because we're so different," he answered. Hermione shook her head and bit her lip.
"Yeah, that's what I thought at first. But we're actually not that different if you really think about it...I believe it's because we hated each other in school and we just carried it into adulthood because of habit." She finished her last glass of wine and sighed. "You know, we should probably stop that because we're going to have to work together in the future." Draco watched her look around the room for a few moments. She was a complex creature, of that he was sure...she never ceased to surprise him.
After another 10 minutes Hermione's eyes started to droop and Draco decided that they'd better call it a night before she fell asleep on top of the table. He stood from his chair and moved beside her. She stood up on shaky legs and went to push her chair in, but lost her footing and started to fall toward the ground.
Draco moved quickly and she fell against his chest as he caught her in his arms. She sighed and breathed in deep.
"You smell nice," she told him.
"Thanks," Draco said as he helped her stand and wrapped an arm around her waist to help her walk toward the elevator. "So do you."
She was falling asleep against his shoulder as they exited the elevator. He was practically dragging her toward her room, so he picked her up bridal style and walked down the hallway. He gave her a little shake when they reached her door.
"Granger, where's you key?" He asked. Hermione said nothing, only shifted and nuzzled her face into his arm. He tried again. "Granger, wake up! We're at your door." After a few more tries it became evident that she wasn't going to answer him, so he sighed and walked down the hall toward his door.
He grabbed the key from his pocket and pushed the door open with his foot as he walked inside. He switched on the light with his elbow and walked to his bed where he gently lied Hermione down. She yawned and turned onto her side and Draco stared down at her with narrowed eyes.
"I can't believe I'm doing this for you," he growled at her, though in truth it really didn't bother him that much. In fact, she looked sorta cute cuddled up on his pillow. Her hair had come loose from it's bun and now hung in waves around her face. Her cheeks were rosy and her lips were parted. Draco sighed as he moved to her feet and pulled off her high heals and set them on the floor. She groaned and suddenly pushed herself up on the bed.
Draco watched her carefully. "...Granger?" he asked. Her eyes were still closed as she grabbed the bottom of her dress and started lifting it up over over her head. His eyes widened as she bunched it up and threw it onto the floor and lied back down again.
He knew that it was wrong...but he couldn't help but scan his eyes over her body. She was wearing a black bra and silky black underwear that curved around her hips. Her body was amazing - far more than he would have ever guessed. He followed the curve of his hips with his eyes and his heart started pounding against his chest as he moved down the silky length of her legs. He swallowed hard and forced his eyes closed.
When he opened them again he quickly moved to the bed and grabbed the blanket that sat on the end. He unfolded it and spread it out over her body, covering her from his site. He then moved to the bathroom and undressed.
He needed to take a cold shower before he went to sleep.

So there's a little bit of Hermione and Draco action for ya. I'm sorry that it's taking so long for the real action to start...but I like a bit of story before my lovin.
I realize that the way I describe this hotel is not very traditional, and I apologize for that. But there is still more to come, so don't give up yet!
Once again, thank you so much for reading and reviewing. You guys are amazing.
P.S. - if you'd like to get a visual on how I'm sorta trying to describe Draco in the scene where he answers the door shirtless, then check this sexy man out:
