Harry woke with a start. He thought at first that it was the splintered bones of his arm reforming but he realized that someone was sponging his forehead in the dark. Right, he was in the hospital wing after a Bludger went rogue and broke his arm, and after that jackarse Lockhart vanished all the bones from that same arm.
Squinting into the dark, Harry saw a catlike shine of bulbous eyes gleaming in the dark. There was only one being he knows that has eyes that large. "Yoda!"
But Harry had come to realize over the course of the school year that this creature was not Yoda. He knew why it had come tonight, while he was weak in the hospital. "You want the precious, don't you? You thought you could fool me into trusting you with that whole Yoda thing, but it won't work! I know who you are now–who you really are and you won't take it! It's mine; Dumbledore gave it to me–it was my dad's, as I'm sure you know, so it's mine, it's all mine!" Harry shouted madly.
Dobby nodded slowly, sliding down from the bed. "Of course, Harry Potter, sir. Is yours, it is."
Harry narrowed his eyes, grabbing the retreating elf by the arm. "That's right, it's mine, and you're going to come to Dumbledore's office and tell him what you are. You're going to tell him you're really Gollum and that you're only pretending to be a house elf. You're going to tell him you want my precious Invisibility Cloak! You want the Precious, don't you? Don't you?"
Dobby decided then and there, that the Dark Lord could take his chances with Harry Potter himself and disapparated from the hospital wing, from Hogwarts entirely. Yes, let the Dark Lord take his chances because Dobby was going back to the comfort of the Malfoy family. He would be safe there.
