Remus walked in to the common room and looked around he saw James sitting by the fire looking in to it intently. Remus sat down near him and smiled weakly at him, the smile dried up immediately at the look of pure hatred and betrayal on his friends face.

“So…” Remus looked around uncomfortably “Where’s Sirius?”

“Said he needed to take a walk” James answered stiffly.

“Okay” Remus looked around again “James…”

“Come with me” James interrupted, getting up and leading the way to the dorm room.

“Do you need help with…” Remus’s words were cut off as he was seized by his shirt and slammed hard in to the wall knocking all the wind out of his lungs and James repeatedly slammed him in the wall.

“You. Traitor!” James hissed “I trusted you. Stupid…werewolf”

“What the hell?!” Peter said as he got off of his bed and made his way to the two fighting boys. It was not usual that two of his three “masters” fought and the thought of having to choose to side with one of them was terrifying to say the least. There was James who was the king of the school but who was willing to give it all up for that mudblood Lily, Sirius who, other than being a complete playboy, was insane at best and then there was Remus who was kind and generous and obviously a complete nancy-boy but was a werewolf and that was something that could be used well.

“Nothing too much, Peter” James called, never turning to look at the smaller boy “Remus here is just a traitor, that’s all”

“What did I do?” Remus asked, though he was sure that he already knew what was causing James to be so angry.

“I SAW YOU!” He screamed “I saw you with Lily last night…kissing her at the bottom of the stairs!”

“James…I’m sorry…she…” He started but his head snapped to the side when his friends fist connected with his cheek.

“Don’t you dare blame her” James snapped “Don’t you dare blame her because you’re a horny little wolf that can’t keep it in your pants!”

“ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO YOURSELF?!” Remus screamed “Bloody hell, I lost my virginity LAST YEAR and you make me sound like Sirius!”

“So it wasn’t your tongue I saw sliding in and out of my girlfriends mouth?” James snapped.

“Oh yeah, it was” Remus was getting angry “And if I want to stick my cock in her mouth I will!”

That was all it took and then Remus and James were bodily throwing each other around the room on to the beds and then the floor, throwing punches the entire time and screaming at each other. Peter had his hands in front of his mouth in shock he wasn’t sure what the hell to do, which master should he defend?

“James…Remus!” Peter screamed “Stop it, please”

“He…was…with…her!” James growled.

“Other than me…who in Gryffindor hasn’t been?!” Peter asked making both boys stop and look at him.

“What?” James asked.

“Hate to break it to you James” Peter said, the way he saw it he would go with the master that could eat him if extremely angry “But just about every male in this house has at least made out with her…Remus and I were the only ones that she didn’t come on to. Bloody hell, she probably jumped him. Sorry James but the woman you’re in love with is a bit of a slut”

“Don’t talk about her like that!” James growled.

“How many people has she dated so far?” Peter snapped.

“What did you see, exactly?” Remus asked.

“You were standing at the bottom of the stairs and she launched herself…” James stopped and looked down at his best friend whom he was sitting on. Remus’s lip was bleeding and there was a black eye in the making and a bruise on his jaw, his bottom lip was quivering slightly and his fists were still raised and shaking a little “Oh god…Remus…I’m sorry”

“Okay” Remus whispered, slowly lowering his fist and sitting up “Okay” James watched as the werewolf walked over to his bed and started to tap his face with his wand, clearing up the damage. He knew that no matter what happened between them now this would forever overshadow their friendship and follow them forever.

~~~Sirius~~~

After his shower in the Quidditch locker room Sirius made his way through the castle. He was deep in thought about what he had seen the night before, his bed was right next Remus’s and he saw the young lycan come back to the room at an obscene hour of the night and climb in to the bed next to him and then KISS Severus Snape, right in front of him. Sirius is not gay but in that moment he felt a sense of jealousy and anger and he wasn’t sure why but he felt that Remus was the person that would always be there for him and suddenly he felt that he was losing him and he needed to make Remus understand he belonged to him and no one else. He walked up to the Astronomy Tower and opened the door, he gasped at what he found on the other side, Snape was laying there on his back with his eyes wide open and glassy.

“Shit!” Sirius ran over and looked at him waving his hand in front of his face and got no response “Oh god…Snape! Wake up, Snape!” Against popular belief Sirius really didn’t want the Slytherin dead, not anymore now he was merely jealous…and curious.

He leaned over to look closer to the pale young man that he had harassed his entire time at school and ran a hand down Snapes unblemished cheek in wonder tilting his head to the side he asked “What have you done?” He leaned closer “You’ve ruined everything. Remus was mine…my best friend until you came along and now all he wants is you…it’s not right!” He looked around to make sure they were alone and when he was positive he brought his lips to the thin pink ones and brushed a kiss across them “What is it about you that has such a hold on him?”

“Mr. Black” Dumbledore said as he stepped on to the tower top “What have you done to Mr. Snape?”

“Nothing, sir” Sirius stood quickly, blushing “I was checking…for a pulse”

“Is there one?” The headmaster raised a disbelieving brow at him.

“Yes, sir” Sirius blushed again.

“Severus’s magical core is weak” Albus told him walking over to the fallen boy “I want to check this area for the monster. I will put a shield around you and Severus, do you think you could get him to the hospital wing safely?”

“Of course, sir” Sirius answered. With his wand he lifted Snape from the floor and once the shield was safely in place he levitated the boy back in to the castle and left the headmaster to his work.

“Peeves” Albus called, the small and sinister looking poltergeist appeared suddenly by the headmasters side “I thought I told you to get Remus”

“Sorry, your headship sir” Peeves smiled menacingly “But I told you once I start to take magic from a particularly magical person I have trouble stopping”

“This is setting us back” Dumbledore sighed “Severus and Remus are fighting, Sirius is interested in Severus for some reason and we just practically handed him over to Sirius on a silver platter”

“Not my fault, sir” Peeves announced “You know the rules when it comes to allowing me to steal magic…you should remember them from when Professor Dippit set me out to bring you and Minerva together”

“I’m not blaming you” Dumbledore said “It’s my fault for not stopping Remus in the hall when I saw him leave…if I have he would have heard Severus. You didn’t take too much from Mr. Snape did you?”

“Only enough to make him pass out” Peeves growled “Which was barely any at all”

“I’m sorry, Peeves” He smiled and left the complaining “monster” on the tower.

~~~Common Room~~~

Remus was reading his DADA book when Sirius walked in looking pale and shook up. Before there was any time to question him about what could possibly be wrong the headmaster swept in to the room followed closely by Professor McGonagall their head of house.

“As some of you may know” The headmaster started “A Slytherin by the name of Severus Snape had been staying in here with my permission” people hissed and complained instantly, Remus’s attention was brought round again and Sirius was watching him closely “He will be returning here tonight, however, I will take one hundred points from every single person that bothers him too much. You see this afternoon while up on the Astronomy Tower Severus Snape was attacked by the monster lurking in the halls” There were gasps and cries of fear “He was only partially drained because the monster was interrupted by your own, Sirius Black but that is not to say the monster isn’t still out there and now he is probably hungry and angry. Be careful everyone and stay in pairs or groups”

There was a sick feeling in Remus’s stomach as he all but ran to the hospital wing to see his Severus (his?!) he knew that Severus had said horrible things to him and had even made him cry but he had to know that the other boy was okay, once he knew that than he could let him go. He paced outside the hospital wing doors awaiting the medi-witch to allow him entrance, he tried to think of what he could say to him, ask him…should he kiss him? Beg for forgiveness? Tell him that he was sorry for not being there to protect him? Was there any ‘right’ thing to say in this situation?

“Have you seen him yet?” Asked a female voice, when he turned Remus found himself face-to-face with Lily “Is he okay?”

“Do you care?” He spat “NO!” He stepped back as she walked over to kiss him on the lips “Don’t touch me anymore!”

“Remus” She smiled “What’s wrong…I thought you liked me”

“And I thought that you were a decent person that cared for your friends!” Remus said “Do you care at all that you hurt Severus by excluding him?”

“Remus…” She started still with a smile on her face moving closer to him but he glared at her angrily.

“No, Lily” He hissed “Listen to me now. I have no clue if I’m gay or not, I don’t know if I’m in love or lust or whatever with Severus but I know that I treat him better than you EVER did!”

“Remus” Lily put her hand up “Severus is…Severus. He’s sweet and gentle when he wants to be and sometimes he is amazing…but…he’s…not right for me and that night I really just…wanted you and not him. Sure he’s a good kisser which surprised me and it really was hot the way you two were making out but you were mine that night and not his”

“I am more his than yours” Remus hissed at her, anger making his eyes glow amber “Lily Evans I never thought that I would say this to you but…your just a selfish, needy whore and I don’t want you around me or Severus”

“Why would you say that” She sobbed.

“Do you have any idea what you’ve done to me?!” He was barely holding on to his anger “James HATES me, he beat me up in the dorm room because he saw us kiss and Severus…my Severus doesn’t want anything to do with me because I let you sink your claws in to me all the while unknowingly pushing away the one person that I feel that way for. That is what you’ve done you selfish BITCH!”

Remus entered the hospital wing a little after Lily ran away from him. He walked right over to the bed where Snape was eating a turkey sandwich and chips, the pale boy looked up and frowned at him, he looked like he wanted to say something but nothing was coming to mind. Remus thought he had everything planned out, apologize and beg for forgiveness and when in doubt burst in to uncontrollable tears like a third year girl that got her heart broken for the first time and pray that he would take pity on him. He didn’t do anything of the sort though, he sat down next to his bed looking at him the whole time pleading with his eyes. When the Slytherin said nothing at all Remus folded his arms on the mattress next to him and put his head down, burying his face in his sleeves at wait out the silence. It was twenty minutes before he felt Severus’s long fingers slowly weave in to his own blond locks and rest there in a reassuring manner, he sighed with content and closed his eyes.

A/N: I hope this is good. This story is going to progress a little more but I do see the end in sight. For my readers if you like this story I may be making a second story but I’m not sure yet, this was technically supposed to just be a one shot and then the story ran away with me. Don’t worry all loose ends will be tied up. PLEASE REVIEW!!!
