So here's the final chapter which also marks the end of my trilogy (yes-I did shed a few tears over this!).

I want to thank everyone for all their support and continuing to read this series.

I hope the end meets your expectations =)

When Hermione woke up a few hours later, she was cradled in Severus' arms as he sat at the entrance of the alcove, leaning against the stone wall and watching her with a tender look in his eyes.

"I tired you out", he murmured to her when she gave him a small smile. She shook her head.

"No Severus. You…", she gulped, knowing every word she was about to say was completely true, "You made me feel loved. You gave me the best graduation present ever".

Hermione knew she had brought up the topic she had vowed to ignore but it was the truth. Even if she ended up lonely in life, this night, the memory could never be taken away from her. She would cherish it until the end of her days.

Severus' lips on hers, warm and possessive brought her back to the present.

He pulled back and turned her around until she was straddling his lap. She noticed they were both dressed again. He must have charmed her clothes back on while she was asleep. The moonlight bathed them both in its serene light, making everything picture perfect.

"Hermione", his voice was soft, almost a plea when he said, "I love you. You know I do witch. What I feel for you…I can't describe it. We started this", he paused, pulling her closer to him as she gave him a soft smile.

"You were still my student when we began this, eight months ago but it feels…like it has been much longer", his voice was barely a whisper now but Hermione understood every word.

It felt like he was saying goodbye to her.

"Severus…"she began but he held up a hand, effectively cutting her off.

"Let me finish. I know the relationship we have isn't…looked upon favourably in society and I know the things we did were wrong. You're my student and I'm your teacher but…tomorrow night you will no longer be my student. The day after that you will be leaving Hogwarts and taking a part of me with you", his eyes were tender as he said the words and Hermione felt tears drip down her face.

"I don't want to leave Severus. I want you with me. I…"she stopped when he placed a finger on her lips, a soft smile on his face.

"Miss Granger, if you don't shut up and listen to what I have to say, I will be forced to announce this in front of all your classmates during class. That seems to be the only place where you listen without constantly interrupting".

The amusement on his face made her smirk at his words. "I'm listening", she answered, leaning her head against his shoulder as he continued.

"When you graduate, I don't want this relationship to exist only in my imagination. So…" he moved her back slightly and reached into his pocket.

She was still reeling from the fact he actually wanted to continue what they had. She wouldn't lose him!

Her eyes filled with tears and she didn't even think about stopping them from falling when he opened the small box he had retrieved and showed her a small, silver ring. "This was my grandmother's ring. I know this doesn't make everything we did right but it will make our future more…acceptable to society and believe me witch, I want to have a future with you", he smiled slightly as she ran a finger over the ring.

Severus took the ring out of the box and took Hermione's hand in his. She stared, mesmerized as he said, "I'm not asking you to marry me this year or the next or anytime soon. I want you to get a degree in whichever field you choose and find a job and become as successful as I know you will be. I just want you to promise me that when the time comes, when you feel like you want to settle down, that it will be with me, witch".

Hermione could only nod as he slipped the ring onto her finger. "I've always been yours Severus", she whispered when she had recovered enough to speak, "I don't want to spend my life with anyone but you".

He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her forward, giving her a slow, sensual kiss that left her in no doubt he wanted her with him for the rest of his life.

"I'm going to wear this ring for the last two days", she told him as they got up from their spot and started their walk through the gardens, back to Hogwarts castle. "Would you mind if I tell everyone you proposed?"

Severus just chuckled and draped an arm around her waist, pulling her closer against him. "You're my fiancé now. Tell them all you like. Make sure to especially tell Potter and Weasley. Their reaction will be worth it", he laughed as Hermione frowned at him and the sound made her smile.

"I feel like I'm falling in love with you all over again tonight", she murmured to him, humour evident in her voice.

Severus just smirked back and said, "Perhaps it's the garden gnomes working their magic on you".

Hermione was perplexed at this comment but shrugged it off for the moment. She had never been this happy in her life. Coming back to finish her schooling was the best idea she had ever had.

"I love you Severus", she whispered to him as they made their way into Hogwarts and to his bed chamber.

Yes. There was only one Severus Snape. And he was hers, forever.
