As Hermione relaxed her body she felt herself drifting and tried to focus on the noises around her. She had received a letter from her grandmother with instructions and was told to try and focus on seeing and hearing beyond the sounds around her. As she did this she felt her mind drifting as new sounds surrounded her. Sounds of laughter, and happy chatter filled her mind and she felt images start to join the sounds. She saw herself inside a large house, but it was nothing like the Kruss Estate. She started looking around and noticed various paintings and sculptures, some depicting creatures, others showing what she assumed to be ancestors of those who lived there.
She felt herself start floating and noticed she was standing outside her body, able to walk freely inside the house. She approached one of the paintings hung above a fireplace in a large frame and gasped upon seeing the family depicted in it; it looked like a much younger Draco with his mother and father. As she looked at the details in the painting she heard laughter behind her and turned to see a young boy and girl running down the hall. The little girl wore a yellow sun dress and had brown chestnut hair, while the little boy was in a blue suit and had blond, almost white hair.
“Wait for me!” the little girl yelled and she walked after them quickly.
“You can't catch me! I'm too fast for you” the boy yelled, giggling and running through a set of doors.
“Be careful you two! We don't need you breaking anything!” She gasped as she turned to the voice and saw Alex standing there, looking slightly younger than she was now, but almost identical.
“No worries Alex! If they break anything we can just repair it with magic” a voice quietly spoke and Hermione stood there frozen as a much younger Narcissa walked behind Alex and smiled at the two children. “They do seem to get along quite well don't they?”
“They do, but we need to be careful. She's a muggle and we don't need Draco exposing her to magic and us having to obliviate her.”
“Amelia assured me that there will be no incidents today.”
“If she was a muggleborn then I would not worry so much” the dark haired witch said before they heard a loud crash and the two ran after the noise, Hermione following behind them.
As the two reached the source of the noise they found the two children on the ground and Lucius hovering over them glaring at them. Next to him was a vase that was shattered into hundreds of pieces. Alex stepped forward and helped the young girl up as Narcissa helped Draco up. They both turned slowly towards Lucius and his scowl grew.
“Why are those two playing in the house rather than outside like they should be? Also who gave this muggle permission to enter my home?” he snarled pointing his cane at the little girl who instantly shrank and turned away from him; Hermione gasping as she saw the little girl's face for the first time and realized it was herself.
“They are children Lucius! There is no need to be so cruel to them!” Alex said, slapping the cane away from them.
“I will not have that filth in my house! I have put up with that long enough today! Get that trash out of my house and tell her grandmother to never bring her back here!” he scowled, turning and walking away.
“Are you both alright?” Narcissa asked looking down at the two of them and Draco nodded.
“Why is father so angry at Mia? She didn't do anything wrong. I ran into the table that the vase was on mother. I didn't pay attention to where I was looking” he said quietly as tears rolled down his cheeks and she sighed, kneeling next to him.
“Your father was brought up to be very strict about blood purity. He doesn't care about right or wrong. We can fix the vase so do not worry my young Dragon” the blond whispered to him quietly so the younger Hermione couldn't hear, wiping the tears off his face.
“I'm going to go find Amelia and tell her what happened. I think it best we cut this play date short and she take Hermione home” Alex said and Narcissa nodded, taking both of the children by the hand and leading them away.
“Mrs. Malfoy, what is a muggle?” Alex heard the young girl ask behind her and shook her head.
“It's just a term my husband uses to insult little children he doesn't like” she said looking at Draco with a look that told him to not say anything.
Hermione followed Alex and watched as she walked outside onto the back patio and over to a gazebo. As she came closer Hermione saw her grandmother standing against the rail watching a couple peacocks in the yard. As Alex approached she turned to her and smiled, but the smile fell when she saw the young woman's face and she asked her what happened.
“They broke a vase and Lucius insulted Hermione. He demanded you leave and never return again with her. He said, and I'm quoting it, 'Get that trash out of my house and tell her grandmother to never bring her back here” the young witch scowled as she said this and Amelia sighed.
“It's fine Alexandria. I only wished to introduce them to each other. I will gather Hermione and leave. Thank you for letting me know” the older woman nodded her thanks and walked through the house to the front entrance where she saw Narcissa was already waiting for her with the children, “Hermione are you ready to leave?”
“Yes, unfortunately” the little girl said quietly and Draco turned to her.
“Don't worry Mia. We'll see each other again someday. I'm sure of it!” he said and she smiled and nodded.
“I need to get something quickly but I will be right back. Hermione why don't you wait for me out front. I will only be a moment.”
The little girl nodded, walking outside and sitting on the porch as she waited for her grandmother. The others watched her do so with sad faces. As Hermione watched this unfold she noticed Lucius walking up behind all of them, his wand in his hand. She gasped as the people around her blurred and felt herself being pulled from her meditation by someone calling her name. As the noises around her started to come back the voice became clearer and she recognized Alex's voice calling to her.
Hermione instantly opened her eyes and looked around herself. She was back at the estate, and everyone was their normal age. Alex was kneeling next to her and looked concerned, while Draco was in the corner still meditating and he looked like he was crying. She let herself calm down and quietly turned to Alex, who helped her up from the floor and moved them over to the bench against the wall. Khira came into the room right after this and looked at the two oddly.
“Everything alright?” she asked quietly, walking over.
“Did I meet either of you when I was younger?” Hermione suddenly asked and Alex and Khira exchanged a look.
“I don't remember us meeting, but I did have a feeling like we had when we first met you at Potter's” the blond replied and Alex sighed.
“Khira, bring Draco to my office quietly and we will discuss this there. I know what this is about” the dark haired witch said and led Hermione from the room and down the hall.
As they entered a pair of dark solid wood doors Hermione gasped seeing the room beyond them. There was shelves full of books and a fireplace to the right side. On the far side of the room was a large mahogany desk with a dark red leather office chair and two similar armchairs sat in front of the desk. Alex moved to grab a box off the shelf near her and sighed as she held it before moving to sit in the office chair; Hermione taking the armchair on the left in front of the desk. After placing the box in front of her Alex looked at her and sighed.
“You must have a lot of questions, so I will answer them the best I can. Everything else will be answered in time” she stated and Hermione nodded, trying to collect her thoughts.
“Did I meet you two when I was younger?”
“You did, but none of us remembered the day. I only know it happened because of your grandmother having a photo in her house. When I saw the photo everything came back to me” As she explained this Khira and Draco entered the room and Alex waited for the blond to take a seat before continuing, “Hermione, did you see something when you were meditating?”
“I was in Malfoy Manor, and I saw a little girl and boy playing and then Lucius getting angry and yelling at them both for breaking a vase. He thought the girl was a muggle. When I got a better look I saw it was myself and Draco-”
“That's impossible! We never met when we were younger!” the blond cut in and Alex shook her head, him turning to her, “Did we meet Alex?”
“Yes you did” Alex said, and they looked at her before she pointed her wand at Draco and whispered, “Memoteneria.”
“Memory charms?” Khira asked and Alex nodded, doing the spell to Hermione and then her wife.
“It would seem that someone wanted the two of them to not know of each other” she said, watching as all three of them reacted to the spell as the memories flooded back into their minds.
“Why?” he asked, his voice shaking.
“Hermione was thought to be a muggle so Lucius didn't want you to remember ever having gotten along with a muggle. At the time Hermione's magic hadn't manifested so we had no idea of her being muggleborn. That day Amelia had a vision and a prophecy made about you Draco. We kept it from you to keep you safe, but since you are of age you need to know about it.” she said, raising her hand above the cherry wood box on her desk and it clicked open before the lid flew back to reveal a bright red orb inside it.
“I am NOT picking that up. That is a blood prophecy!” he said, angrily.
“A what?” Hermione asked.
“A blood prophecy. For the events of a blood prophecy to even begin, someone close to whom the prophecy is about must die. In this case it was Draco's mother” Khira stated, and her wife nodded.
“My mother's death is mentioned in that prophecy?” he asked and Alex nodded.
“I found out about this only just a little while ago Draco. Amelia had the prophecy and gave it to me earlier. She said our memories had been wiped of the entire day so we all did not remember this happening.”
“I don't want to hear it” he said, turning away from the desk.
“Draco...” Hermione said.
“Don't” he said quietly, “We got along so well and I still treated you the way I did.”
“Draco, you didn't know it was me” she said, walking over to him before lowering her voice, “I know you don't want to hear the prophecy, but you must. It's fate, can't you see that?”
“My mother died because of that thing!” he yelled.
“Your mother died because your father is a coward and instead of turning his back on Voldemort, he would rather turn his back on his own son, murder his wife of nearly 20 years, and then run back to his LORD. Your father is nothing more than a pathetic coward Draco” Alex stated, the venom dripping in her voice.
“I know you loved her Alex. I'm not blind.”
“How long have you known?”
“Since I came home from my third year at Hogwarts” he said, turning to her, “Lucius got into a fight with her one day and said 'You always did love that dyke bitch more than me. Still rolling around in the sheets with her and her wife when I'm not home are you? Figures you were still in love with her.”
“Yes, it is true, your mother and I were a couple for some time. That however did change after I bonded with Khira. Narcissa and I chose to break our relationship off, and go our separate ways, but it didn't stop us from loving each other. Even to this day I still love her” she said with her head down, but then looked up and they saw her eyes glowing again, “I may have loved your mother Draco, but my love for Khira trumps that love any day of the week. Cissa knew this. That is why she asked me to protect you and teach you right from wrong. She said if there was anything I could do to prove my love for her, I would protect her children and not let Lucius corrupt them. She asked me this prior to marrying Lucius, and I vowed to do it.”
“You nearly failed” he said quietly but she shook her head and smirked at him.
“No, because you're twice the man your father is” she said.
“Draco, please just listen to the prophecy. No matter what it says we'll all be here to help you” Hermione said with a small smile.
He nodded and stepped forward slowly. As he reached his hand to take the orb from the case, he felt a chill run down his spine. Hermione walked up next to him and looked at Alex who nodded at the both of them, before he picked up the orb. Immediately they heard Amelia's raspy voice fill the room and cringed at the tone of it.
“The war shall forever change when a Malfoy falls at the hands of her husband. The heir of the Malfoy house shall determine the fate of the wizarding world. For if he sides with the dark, the light shall fall and with it, the world will plunge into chaos. If he chooses the light, there will be peace once again. Silver and gold must come together to fight this evil, for they alone will be able to unite the rest of the world. There will be struggles, but only then will he be able to lead the Malfoy name through this war without it being stained by the sins of the father. Silver and Gold must come together.”
“What the hell did that mean?” he asked as the voice faded away.
“Amelia stated that she believes that it means that you need to get over your past and side with the light” Alex stated and he snorted.
“Not hardly likely that I will get along with half of them. They all despise me” he said, sitting down again.
“Then start by getting along with Hermione and the other two. Maybe if people see you making an effort with them, they will give you a chance.”
“Fine.”
“Now, I talked to your grandmother Hermione and she told me why your eyes glowed” she stated and the brunette sat down.
“What did she say?”
“It appears that you have succubus blood as well. She said that her mother was sexually assaulted one night by an incubus, and because of this, your grandmother was born as a result. Now, because of this, your grandmother was considered a squib, but because the magic didn't die out, you were able to have magic.”
“What exactly do you mean that I have succubus blood?” she asked confused.
“Succubus is the female version of an incubus, or a demon that is said to sleep with women and impregnate them to have children. The children will become witches, wizards, or in your grandmother's case, squibs.”
“What exactly are the traits of a succubus?” Hermione was intrigued.
“Stronger magic, mental endurance, and because of the sexual aspect of their mating, the sexual drive is stronger with them. Also, while on that point I will remind you that you must refrain from sleeping with just anyone. That goes for both of you. There is a very high chance that you could harm someone who you sleep with if they are not your mate. You are not in control of your creature sides yet, so they could take control and push you beyond what you normally would do” she said and the two teens blushed, facing away from each other.
“Alex, isn't it true that if a succubus DOES sleep with someone who isn't their mate they could kill themselves and their mate?” Khira asked.
“Yes, but it is only if they reject the mate” she replied.
“Reject them?” Hermione asked.
“An example Ms. Granger was if your mate turned out to be someone you despised, and you rejected him for obvious reasons, then went on to be with someone else. Your rejection could kill him or her because the rejection tears the creature inside the person apart. They literally cannot live without their mate. What is not commonly stated though, is that rejection is a two way road. You would be effected by the rejection as well as your mate. Being rejected by your mate is so bad that you literally will crave having your mate near you just to end the pain and suffering you feel and until then you will be unable to feel anything but hopelessness, despair, and agony.”
“Are the chances I will find my mate good?” she asked.
“Statistics say about only five percent of those born have creature blood, and of that about only a third of them find their mate” Draco replied.
“That does not mean you cannot be with someone, but it means that if your mate comes along you have to choose between them and your partner. Most times the partner will not be the choice either” Alex stated.
“How will we know if they are our mate?” she asked.
“For succubus, you'll be drawn to the person, you'll notice that you'll start having feelings for them, and you will desire them. There may be times you also unknowingly get jealous of them being with another person, and territorial as well. For veela you will notice that everyone gives off pheromones. These pheromones will give away the exact person, because you will notice the pheromone most people give off is undesirable, but for your mate, it will be one that is distinctive enough to catch your attention.”
“Okay, so what does it mean that my eyes glowed how they did?” Hermione asked.
“Your eyes will only glow when you are very emotional. Be that you were emotional due to the song Draco sang, your eyes started glowing” she explained.
“Why did your eyes start glowing when Khira said what she did?” Draco asked.
“They glowed because of what she said to me” she replied, turning to her wife, “Tell them what you said.”
“I said to her 'You are my mate, my bonded, and my one true love. I am yours, and always will be.' Alex's eyes glowed because I reinforced the bond between us by reassuring her I was hers.” the blond said.
“One day the two of you may meet your mates, but until that day, you must learn to control your abilities. Until then you are both at risk of being taken advantage of” Alex said, switching her view between them both, “Now, I am going to change your schedules again for learning. In the morning along with the meditation, you will both be taking two hours to train your individual abilities.”
“When is Snape supposed to get here?” Khira asked.
“In about an hour” Alex said and the blond nodded, walking out of the room. “Both of you come with me and we'll continue practicing with your wands while we wait.”
They walked down the hall and back into the training room, where Alex had them tossing shields and stunners at each other. She noted that Hermione's shields were slightly more forceful with her new wand, while Draco's seemed to be slightly stronger, but not as forceful as Hermione's. She also noted their auras were more prominent than before. Draco's was a bright silver, while Hermione's was now a much brighter gold.
'Wait a second...silver and gold must come together to fight this evil' she thought. 'It can't be!'
'What's wrong love?' she heard Khira's thoughts drift from the other room.
'Babe, come in here and look at their aura's.'
'I know love. I can see them through you. They're the ones in the prophecy.' the blond's smirk could be heard by her wife.
'Babe, you don't think those two are mates do you?'
'They could be. It's highly unlikely, but they could be. The original air and earth element were married. It could be that those two are mates as well.'
'Let me know when Sevvy gets here babe. You will sense him faster than I will.'
'I'll be sure to do so BEFORE I go upstairs and avoid him seeing me. You know I hate him.'
'I know babe. Love you' the darker haired witch couldn't help smiling at her wife's antics.
She went back to watching the two teens before telling them to take a few minutes break before Snape showed up. She went across the hall and noticed Khira was not in the room with the boys, and asked where she went, before going after her. Hermione walked in and sat down across from Harry, who was working on holding a ball of fire in his hand. He groaned when it failed again and placed his wand down.
“I can't do this!” he said angrily, placing his head against the back of the chair.
“You need to concentrate Harry” Hermione said, before Alex entered the room.
“Harry we need to remove your memories before Snape gets here. Khira remembered and went to get the vials to put the memories in” she said, handing him three vials.
“I had forgotten too. How do I do it?”
“It would be better that I do it instead of you, since I can see that all of it was removed” she said and when he nodded, pointed her wand at his head.
“Legilimens” she said, and started pulling strands of his memories from his head, placing them into the vials.
Just as she pulled the last memory from him she heard Khira tell her that Snape had arrived, and was waiting for them in the foyer. She told the teens and all of them but Ron followed her as she walked to meet the potions master.
“Ah Severus. Always so punctual?” she said, as the man turned to her.
“I do not have much time to dawdle here Alexandria. I am here to observe Potter's progress, along with the others, and then I will be leaving” she nodded at this, “I hope that you were able to break through the stubborn attitude Potter has.”
“Unfortunately I still have some problems, because it seems that whoever was teaching him Occlumency before was also never teaching him at all, but instead just being an arse to him over the jealousy they had for his father” she said with a sneer.
“It is not my fault that Mr. Potter is as incompetent as his father was in his years he was at school.”
“No it is only your fault that you treat him like James when he is more like Lily than you would care to admit” she glared at him.
“He is nothing like his mother-”
“Oh yes, I keep forgetting. You would know all about Lily considering your feelings regarding her and James' marriage. Tell me Severus, is your patronus still a doe?” Alex asked with a smirk.
“A doe?” Harry asked, “My mum's was a doe. Why would his be?”
“Another time, Potter” the dark hair woman replied with a smirk, before turning back to Snape.
“Potter, you must try and block me as quickly as possible” Snape replied, pulling out his wand, “Legilimens!”
Harry instantly felt him pushing through his mind and seeing images of the past few weeks. He saw them at the club the night before and Hermione getting up to leave the table, but he started pushing and shoved the man back out before he could see who she danced with. Snape gasped upon being pushed out and looked between Alex and Harry.
“That is the fastest he has ever pushed me out before” he stated, putting his wand away “How did he do it?.”
“Sir, to be honest, it is much harder to push Alex out than it is to push you out” Harry stated and they saw the potions master glare at him.
“Nevertheless, he is making progress. Let us hope that by the next time I am here we can cut the time down much further” he said, turning to Draco, “Now Draco, care to explain the training she has been giving you?”
“We're working on shielding, absorption, and propulsion spells. Specifically to take damage and throw it back at our opponents” the blond replied.
“What is the status of this training?”
“Satisfactory for now. I can successfully block spells and throw them back at opponents without a problem” he replied with a shrug.
“The next time I am here, I will wish to see their progress first hand. For now I will trust Draco's word. Good day Alexandria” the man stated, and walked back through the floo.
“That went better than expected” Hermione stated and they all nodded.
“Alright, let me go and the other two and we will all go out for dinner tonight. There is a wonderful pub nearby that servers all sorts of food from around the world” Alex stated and they all nodded, as she walked away.
“Granger can I speak to you privately?” Draco asked and she looked at Harry who nodded, before they walked into the dining room area.
“What is it Draco?” she asked.
“I've been thinking a lot about earlier and what Alex said” he started, sitting at the table, “About trying to get along with the three of you.”
“And?”
“I know I can never get along with Weasley. The family feud will make it nearly impossible unless we both agreed to leave it in the past, and I doubt he would do that. Potter, I was told to try and befriend him when he came to Hogwarts, and when he turned down that friendship my father said he was our enemy. It got worse the more and more he bested me in everything.”
“This is the little boy I remember...” she said and he looked at her confused, “That day we met. You were so open then. What changed?”
“My father changed me” he said, looking down, “He started beating me regularly, casting curses at me when I had my back to him. It was a complete change from the way things were.”
“You're willing to try getting along with Harry and Ron though?”
“I can only try. Like I said, Weasley and I both have to agree to stop fighting since its all fueled by the family feud” he replied.
“What happened to cause the feud?”
“Money” he said and continued when she signaled him to do so, “I was told that in the 1960's Septimus Weasley borrowed some money from my grandfather Abraxas, who was in fact his cousin. Septimus was supposed to pay the money back over time, and was doing so for quite a while, but my grandfather one night went to collect and found Septimus drunk, and refusing to pay. Septimus agreed to pay him the next day if he would just come back then, since he was too drunk to remember where the money was at. The next day when Abraxas returned, Septimus denied having the money at all, and made an excuse. The two wound up in a duel where Septimus was battered by spells that left him physically weak. As a last ditch effort, he cursed my grandfather with a spell that shattered his immune system. It was believe that this spell is what caused him to get Dragon Pox, and inevitably die 6 years later.”
“Ron has only said that it was your family being greedy.”
“He probably doesn't even know the true story. I don't even know if what I was told is the truth either” Draco stated, before a knock sounded on the door.
“Come along you two, Weasley's complaining of hunger again.” Alex's voice drifted through the door and they both chuckled.
“Draco?” he turned to look at her.
“I forgive you” he raised his eyebrow at her and she blushed looking down, before answering, “I forgive you for the things you did the last six years. You did not know it was me, and you were being told to act that way by Lucius. It wasn't the real you and I shouldn't hold it against you.”
“I don't deserve your forgiveness for what I did Hermione” he held up his hand when she went to interrupt him “I treated you like garbage and I don't deserve forgiveness for what I said or did to you. I can only ask that you judge me for who I am now and not who I was then.”
“I've already been judging you for who you are now, and that's not going to change” she smiled and he nodded before turning towards the door, “Let's go before Ron drives Alex nuts over food.”
