Although your review was nasty, juvenile, and mostly untrue (I never blamed my account deletion technical difficulties, I just never stated why my account was deleted. See chapter 3.) you made a good point about my lack of capitalization when addressing Professor Snape. I do not have a beta so my chapters might have minor grammar/spelling errors. --------------------------------CHAPTER 5--------------------------------------

A few hours later Hermione found herself slowly walking to the Great Hall, debating whether or not to ditch breakfast altogether. She couldn't stop thinking about those lips; those shocked, delicious, warm lips. She didn't know what came over her when she kissed her professor, she just wanted him in that instant. More than that, she wanted to assure him she didn't feel stuck with him at all. Quite the opposite actually, she wanted to be with him more than anything in the world.

She hesitated in the antechamber to the Great Hall listening to the clatter of plates and the murmur of early morning gossip. Her stomach fluttered at the thought of seeing him at the Head's table, would he call her out on their kiss? Would he cancel detention tonight? No, he would most likely ignore her, he might not even be there yet. Maybe she could slip in and out before he even got there.

Hermione peeked her head into the room and scanned the Head's table, only to meet a pair of unwavering onyx eyes staring into her own. Chills ran up her spine, there was no way she could skip out on breakfast now. She made her way over the Gryfindor table and sat down next to Harry.

"Morning Mione, how did you sleep?" Harry asked.

"Oh not too bad... I just wish I could have gotten more."

Harry looked at her oddly, "Hermione, can I ask you a question?"

"Sure."

He squirmed a little in his seat, "A personal question?"

She looked up at him with a furrowed brow, "Of course Harry, you can ask me anything." She stared at him, waiting. "What are you so nervous about? Just ask." she smiled encouragingly.

"Well... I was looking at the map last night, and I saw you and Snape in Dumbledore's office." he looked at her sheepishly "What were you doing in there so late at night? And why did he walk you back to your rooms? That doesn't seem like him."

Hermione had forgotten about the map, "I... Well... It's a bit complicated-"

"No, I'm sorry." Harry cut her off "I shouldn't have pried-"

"It's okay Harry, you're my best friend and you'll know sooner or later. Meet me in my common room after classes, it's a very long story."

Harry grinned at her "I'll be there!"

"One more thing Harry, we cannot tell Ron about this, he'll flip out."

"Who's gonna flip out?" said Ron, as he plopped down opposite the pair. Hermione hadn't noticed Ron come into the hall, she was at a loss for words.

"Umm... well-"

"Hermione's just nervous for Potions today, she's worried that she didn't elaborate on the proprieties of Boomslang skin enough in the Polyjuice Potion essay." Harry covered smoothly.

"That's our 'Mione!" Ron said around a mouth full of bacon and eggs "I didn't even write about Boomslang skin in my essay. Waste of time if you ask me, I don't even know why we came back to school this year."

"Ronald Weasley! We came back to finish our education. It is most certainly not a waste of time." said Hermione.

"Well we were all offered jobs as Aurors at the Ministry after the war, it's not like we needed to come back to school." said Ron.

"I don't know about you two, but I don't much fancy working for a Ministry that covered up the return Voldemort by ridiculing Harry, not to mention landing us with Umbridge." she said.

"But the Ministry is changing-" Ron said.

"Hmph. Bloody likely. I wouldn't trust the Ministry if they made an Unbreakable Vow to never lie again." She said "And Ronald, finish chewing before you speak. Half chewed food is disgusting."

"Geez 'Mione who's put a twist in your knickers?" Ron said.

"Ugh! You know what Ronald? You're the one who put the 'twist in my knickers'. You can't seem to hold a civil conversation, and your table manners are non-existent. Sometimes you infuriate me." she said, and then stormed out of the Great Hall, watched by an unwavering pair of black eyes.

Once again, Hermione hurried blindly down to the dungeons, wondering why she had gotten angry so easily at Ron. Sure he didn't have great table or social skills, but she knew that. It had never bugged her as much before. It was almost as if they weren't her emotions, she didn't feel angry anymore.

And then it hit her, she hadn't been feeling her own emotions, but Professor Snape's. He must have been really angry about something over breakfast, angry enough for her to feel over the bond. Hermione stopped in the middle of the hall and concentrated on feeling Professor Snape, testing the bond for his emotions. At first she didn't really feel much, then she closed her eyes. A fuzzy picture was forming in her mind. She could see a dark blob at the end of a tunnel, and she seemed to be approaching it very quickly. All of the sudden her viewpoint stopped, and she felt a very real pair of hands on the back of her shoulders.

And then, just whisper away from her ear "What do you think you're doing Miss Granger?"

Hermione jumped and attempted to turn around, but two firm hands help her in place.

"My office. Now." he ground out, then swept passed her into his classroom. She scurried after him through the Potions room and into his office. He sat behind his desk seething at her, she could feel his rage over the bond.

"What possessed you to invade my mind Miss Granger? Do you enjoy wielding power over me? Is it not enough that I'm forced to be with you on this level?"

"Professor I-"

He stood and slammed his hands down onto the desk. "Get out Miss Granger. Get. Out."

She stood quickly and ran for the door.

"And don't you dare try that again." he snarled after her.

Hermione ran out of the potions classroom blindly, her eyes brimming with salty tears. She rounded the dungeon corner and smacked right into another person, spilling her books and notes all over the dungeon corridor in the process.

"Oh I'm so sorry" she sniffled "I wasn't paying attention to where I was going and I didn't-" she looked up and realized that she had run into Malfoy of all people.

"No-" he swallowed nervously "it's okay Granger." he finished, and to her astonishment he began sat up and began helping her gather her papers.

"Thank you..." she said awkwardly, and not knowing what to make of the situation she looked down and continued gathering her notes. She hadn't really noticed Malfoy much this term, he seemed to try and blend in with the crowd more these days. I guess she would to had her father been sent to Azkaban after the war. Hell he was lucky not to be in Azkaban himself for the role played during the war.

"You know Granger, I've been thinking... We should hang out sometime, you know as friends." at this her mouth dropped open in astonishment, and eyes snapped up to meet his.

"Are you being serious Malfoy?" she asked in disbelief.

"Yes, completely, one-hundred percent serious. I've done a lot of... thinking since the end of the war, and now that my father's gone- I mean now that Voldemort is gone I want to apologize for my actions, for my whole life really. I just want to stop being my old self you know?" his voice was unwavering but his eyes were pleading with her to accept the apology, she answered him slowly.

"Yes, I would like that." she broke out into a watery smile.

"Geeze Granger. I know, a Malfoy apologized... but you don't have to cry about it!" he threw her a cheeky grin and helped her up off of the floor. She smiled even wider. "But seriously Granger why are you crying? It's not healthy to go around the castle bowling people over..."

"I made Professor Snape rather angry, I don't think he'll let me into his classroom ever again actually, it was quite brutal." she said solemnly.

"Nah, I bet he just needs some time to cool off, take away points from a few first years, award a couple of detentions... Normal Snape stuff."

"No, I did something horrible Malfoy, unforgivable. I just-" she cut herself by bursting into tears and latching onto an astonished Draco Malfoy. "I don't know what I can do to fix this." she said in a robe muffled voice. Malfoy stroked her back awkwardly.

"Um... It's okay you don't have to cry..." Malfoy was completely out of his suave element, he had seen girls cry before of course, but not like this. And he had never need to comfort those girls either. "Come on Granger, " he said with finality, "I am going to walk you up to your dorm, and you are going to tell me what happened. Okay?"

She looked up at him and nodded her head, wiping away a few tears with her robe sleeve. The two of them walked up to the fifth floor in silence. If anyone thought the site of them together was odd, the didn't say anything about it. Once at the portrait hole Hermione chocked out her password and they were admitted in.

"Nice place you got here Granger, I like the design, very unique." he said admiring the multi-faceted room and plush couches. They sat down in the two armchairs before the fireplace, and Draco lit the grate. "Why don't you start from the beginning" he said, looking rather comfortable.

"Well... its a rather long story..." she said sheepishly.

"In case you haven't noticed Granger, we're both skipping Potions right now so I think its safe to say we have time for a long story." she said smugly.

"Okay, but if we're going to try for a new start as friends, you have to call me Hermione." she smiled at him brightly.

"Deal." he said "Then you have to call me Draco, all this 'Malfoy' stuff reminds me of my father." he said with disdain.

"Alright well I guess I better start from the beginning..." she told Draco the entire story, from her botched detention to her stern lecturing not an hour before. He listened to her intently without interruption until the end of her story. "So Dumbledore slipped him the potion?" he asked incredulously.

"Yes, I couldn't believe it either! Why would he do such a thing?" said Hermione.

"Well I know Dumbledore's brilliant and all that, but sometimes he can be a real nutter." he said, then softened, "He just wants everyone to be happy I suppose. If it wasn't for him I'd be rotting away in Azkaban with the rest of them. I owe him my life." Draco finished somberly, and seemed to be deep in thought.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Hermione asked tentatively. Draco looked up at her for a second hungrily.

"Nah, I don;t want to scare you off now we've just become friends." He broke out into a winning smile "What I really want to talk about is Professor Snape, Wanking it off in front of his favorite student."

Hermione's entire body flamed with embarrassment, "I don't think-"

Draco cut her off quickly: "Does he have a big cock?"

"Draco Malfoy!" she gasped "I can't believe you just said that!"

He roared with laughter "You should have seen your face! You looked turned on and like you were going to be sick at the same time!" he rolled around in the armchair and clutched at his sides.

"It isn't funny." she asserted, trying not to crack a smile at him, she had never seen Draco so relaxed and free. She gave in "Alright I guess it was a little funny..."

Draco sat back up and looked at her, "But seriously, how big is it? Every time I imagine it he's hung like a hippogriff."

"You imagine Professor Snape's... you-know-what?" she asked, shocked.

"Cock Hermione, it's called a cock. Or a dick, penis, lollipop, wand, phallus-"

"I get the point Draco... Back to the question, why are you imagining his... penis? she said.

"Well don't you?" he asked curtly "The man is hard not to think about, even if he is my godfather." At this Draco wiggled his eyebrows at her suggestively.

Hermione furrowed her brows "So you're gay?" she asked lightly, not wanting to offend him if he wasn't.

"Yes." he said.

"But I thought you and Pansy-"

"No, that was just a cover. If my father ever found out I was gay... I don't know what he would have done to me." Draco shivered in fear "I hated myself for not liking girls. I thought I was impure, undeserving of being a pure blood, so I repressed it. I slagged around with a few girls, and that seemed to make my father happy. Couldn't get it up for the life me though," he said ruefully "so I had to take a potion for erectile dysfunction."

"I'm sorry Draco..." she said, because once again, she wasn't sure what to say.

"I had no trouble getting a hard on for Potter though. That was one of the reasons I hated him so much. He had it all: real friends, love, Quiditch prowess, and he gave me wood harder than stone. It was confusing to say the least." he smiled up at her sheepishly, waiting for her reaction.

Hermione broke out into a smile, and started singing "Harry and Draco, sitting in a tree-" a large pillow smacked her in the face, thrown by a similarly smiling Draco.
