“Father” Thor stood before the older man “I fear that I am second-guessing Loki’s ability to kill our mother”
“You’ve seen what he has done” Odin said “He has killed countless others so why is it so hard to think that he could kill your mother”
“She loved him” Thor said “He knew that, he felt as if she were the only one that loved him. He would never kill her because of that, he used to get mad when someone bad mouthed her”
“He has changed greatly, my son” Odin said gravely “He has to be dealt with...”
“Dealt with?” Thor repeated.
“I no longer want him brought back alive” Odin said with a twist of his lips “When you find him and I know that you will, I want you to kill him”
“Father” Thor said weakly “Please...he’s my brother and I love him”
“He is a murderer!” Odin snarled “You kill him or I will” The old man shook his head “It’s time for him to be gone”
“You sound as if you’ve wanted this for some time, father” Thor said, confused.
“I should have let him die as a baby” Odin said carelessly “I was weak but I’m not anymore” He smiled a little “Go my son. You will be successful I know that you will”
“I will try to be, father” Thor said quietly before he walked away back to where he needed to be to leave to go back to the wizarding world. He looked at the guard that stood there and asked the only thing that was haunting his mind “Am I doing the right thing?”
“He is your brother” The man answered him, his sightless eyes fixing blindly on Thor’s face “You know where he is and you know what you will do...and in the end...you know what the truth is”

Harry was sitting in his house watching his wife going through paint sample after paint sample. She was trying to decorate the living room to be perfect, there was no success so far. He had been happy when the room was painted lavender with the white trim and white rug but she said that it was too girly and Ronald would make fun of him. Then she tried blue but decided against it now it was greens and different shades of white. Harry was feeling guilty about lying to everyone about the location of Loki, what was Hermione thinking?
“Gin” Harry said when she came back in to the room “I have a problem...and I need your advice”
“Sure” She said “What’s wrong?” She walked over and slid her hand through his untidy black hair.
“What would you do” Harry started “If you were charged with a case of the utmost importance and you could finish said case...but it would mean hurting someone you love?”
“This has to do with the Loki case, doesn’t it?” Ginny asked.
“Maybe” He said evasively.
“You know where he is, don’t you?” Ginny guessed, Harry lowered his emerald eyes to his hands and nodded “Then tell Thor” She leaned over and kissed his neck “And then you can spend some much needed time with me”
“But I’ll hurt someone I love” He whispered.
“Who?” She asked “What’s going on?”
“He’s with Hermione” Harry answered “She’s...in love with him” He looked down “And I’ve seen the way he looks at her, he’s in love with her too even if he’s trying to fight it”
“This is a hard case” Ginny sat down “Hermione needs to be happy and if he makes her happy than...” She looked at her hands “But he’s a killer. I mean this is almost as bad as falling in love with Voldemort”
“I don’t know what to do” Harry said “I took a vow to protect the wizarding world from everything and yet I need to protect Hermione and her happiness...I never thought the two would have a collision and I would end up in this predicament”
“So he did kill his mother, right?” Ginny asked.
“It’s what his father says but...” Harry trailed off.
“But you don’t believe it” She offered.
“I don’t know him” Harry said “But the man I saw at Hermione’s apartment and the man that Thor’s father painted are like two different people”
“What do you mean?” Ginny asked “Tell me about what you were told about him and what you saw in her apartment”
“Thor’s father said that he is clever” Harry said “Smart and cunning, he is ruthless and unfeeling” He looked at the table top “He said that Loki doesn’t care about anyone or anything, his mind is set on murder and mayhem that he wants to be a leader, a king among anyone he sees as lower than himself. He made him sound like Voldemort. He told us that he is what is known in their world as a Frost Giant though he does not look like them, he can throw his appearance on to others, take on others appearances and make you think that you are seeing something completely different than what you actually are”
“And the man you saw in Hermione’s apartment?” Ginny asked.
“He was scared” Harry said “His eyes kept leaping from me to her and not in a “I’m planning something” kind of way. His hands were shaking and I could tell that he was scared. Then Hermione walked over to him and his demeanor changed completely. He looked at her as if she were his savior, a goddess come to earth just for him, I could tell that he loved her and I couldn’t bear to see her look upset so I’ve lied for her”
“You’re a good friend, Harry” Ginny said.
“I think that Thor is second guessing what Loki has done” Harry told her “I can tell by how he has changed, he was on a war path but the more information he gets from his home the more confused he seems”
“Sounds like there may be a mystery at foot here” Ginny said wisely “And are you not the person to go to when there is an adventure to be had?”
“Yeah” He blushed slightly “Me, Ron and Hermione. And you know that Ron won’t help until I have solid proof that he is innocent”
“But you’ll have Hermione” Ginny said “Luna will help out if she thinks he’s innocent and you have me” She smiled “And when in doubt...you have a whole network of people that will be willing to help you”
“Like who” He snorted.
“Sirius, who knows how it feels to be wrongly accused of a heinous crime” Ginny said “Three Malfoy’s that owe you a debt, Remus and Tonks not to mention, Neville and the D.A”
“You think I should try to solve the murder of a woman that has nothing to do with our world?” Harry asked.
“I think if you want Hermione to finally be happy with someone that she loves than you should” Ginny answered “Plus, I will help you all the way”
“Okay” Harry said “I’ll do it, for Hermione”

It was the fourth week since Loki was shoved in to Hermione’s life and she had to say that it was getting better. Since they started leaving the house more often he stopped being such a git, she found that he liked to read as much as she did. He liked to learn about the magical world but she noticed that he also enjoyed reading novels, she noted that he liked books with romance and happy endings. She considered picking on him for it but found that she couldn’t make herself do it. She looked at the charmed notebook she had given Loki, ever since the Thor incident she realized that she needed a way to talk to him at all times. He couldn’t work the Floo network (found that out when he set himself on fire) and an owl would take too long. Suddenly there was a low whistling that went through her office to let her know that he had written to her.
‘Hey’ He wrote ‘We’re out of Milk’
‘I’ll pick some up on the way home from work’ She wrote back ‘Anything you want for dinner?’ She smiled as she realized that they sounded like an old married couple or a couple in general.
‘I want something good’ He wrote ‘Any ideas?’
‘Well...my mother of sorts, Molly wants to meet Luke’ Hermione told him blushing ‘She invited us to dinner tonight and I told her that I would have to talk to you about it, what do you think?’
‘Is she a good cook?’ He asked.
‘The best I know’ Hermione answered.
‘Good’ He wrote ‘Sounds like a date’
