Lidia stood in front of the mirror in the girls lavatory found next to her dorm room. She stood to the side and pushed the bottom of her white school shirt against her stomach, her breasts were finally coming in. She knew that her father would be even more unbearable now that she was starting to look like a woman. Damn...she would need a bra at some point...maybe that was something she could ask her ‘auntie’ Luna to get her and maybe not tell her mother until her boobs were too big to hide anymore. She knew that they were just boobs and that every girl would get them however her mother would give her yet another sex-talk like she did when she got her period. Then there would be conversation about how waiting until she was married is the best course of action and that boys only wanted one thing from her and she was a very pretty girl...blah, blah, blah. Her mother felt the need to dictate everything in her life, from the primary school she went to, to what she wore when she wasn’t in her school uniform.
“Hey Lidia” Delilah Parkinson called in “Are you staring at your boobs again?”
“They just keep growing” Lidia whined as she opened the door “When do they stop?”
“Just hope they don’t stop now” Delilah told her with a laugh “At the rate I’m going” She looked at her still flat chest “I may never have boobs...or my period”
“You don’t want that” Lidia assured her “Bleeding out of that particular area is not fun”
“Least boobs come with it though” Delilah said “And curves and good hair...”
“And hairy legs and armpits” Lidia pointed out as she threw the last of her clothes in to her duffle bag because she hated having to lug her trunk home with her for Christmas break.
“Least guys will notice you” Delilah said sadly “I am the only second year girl in Slytherin and probably the school even that hasn’t started yet...I’m a freak”
“Not everyone starts at the same time” Lidia told her “My mother was surprised that I started the summer before my second year. She said that she hadn’t started until halfway through her third year, she was almost fourteen”
“Yeah!” Delilah looked super happy again “And your mom is stacked!”
“I guess” Lidia said “We leave tomorrow. I have to go and find out what Kale and Sev are doing over break so I can make plans around theirs”
“You are so in love with Kale” Delilah laughed.
Lidia rolled her eyes and shook her head as she walked out of the room. She refused to acknowledge her friends’ constant joke about her love life, it was almost as annoying as her obsession with having big boobs. Lidia found it amusing that she would most likely be a flat chested adult, she could only wish for that for herself. She walked out of the common room and made her way towards the Ravenclaw tower but didn’t need to go that far because she ran right in to Kale. She felt herself blush when he looked her. Kale was a third year, one year older than herself, he was taller than she was and thin, he had blond hair that had the slightest hint of red in it. He had pale green eyes that always danced with kindness because he was the kindest person in the world. He was the Keeper for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team and one of the smartest students in the school and definitely in his year.
“Hey, Kale” Lidia said “I was just looking for you”
“What’s up?” He asked.
“I was just curious what you’d being doing with yourself all vacation” Lidia told him.
“Nothing” He answered “Mum wants me to go over some of my books with Gwen so she won’t drown next year when she starts Hogwarts”
“Okay...” Lidia laughed “I am so not doing that for Levi when he’s starting school”
“There’s a difference between the ages” Kale pointed out “Gwen will be here next year and Levi won’t be starting until you graduate”
“Well then” Lidia flashed him a big smile “Maybe I’ll change my mind before then”
“I hope so” He said “I wasn’t going to be doing anything much, you know the usual, Grams house, Gramps house and sitting at home, you?”
“About the same” She answered “Probably spending some time in Asguard unless Uncle Thor and aunt Sif decide to come down here”
“Sounds good” He said putting his hands in to his pockets “So...you’re going home on the train, right?”
“Yeah” She answered “Why?”
“I don’t know” He started walking down towards the stairs the led to the dungeons “I thought that maybe you’d want to sit with me on the train”
“Sure!” Lidia said a little too loudly and tripped over her own feet in the process, her face instantly heated up and she stuttered out an apology.
“It’s okay” He laughed “Hey, I’ve got to go return some books at the library but I’ll wait for you tomorrow so we can catch a carriage together”
“Sounds good” She said and walked down the hallway leading back to her common room in a daze. She was vaguely aware of remembering the last time she had even held a boys hand. She had been eight and he was ten and her father had freaked out on her telling her that she was too young and boys were all jerks. She knew that if she were to actually like Kale and her father knew, he would likely burst a blood vessel.

Hermione was sitting on the couch with Gabby in her arms while she waited for Loki and Levi to make their way downstairs. They would be leaving to get Lidia off the train any minute now, the train would come in at eleven and she would expect to see them waiting for her. She had been hoping to get there with enough time to talk to Luna about possible plans for the New Year.
“Loki!” She called up the stairs “Come on...the train will be at the station in an hour!”
“Coming!” He called down “Levi had something sticky all over him, I think he was trying to cook again”
“COME ON!” She screamed again.
When they finally got to Kings Cross it was with twenty minutes to spare. Luna and Ron were talking to some of the other families so Loki, Levi, Gabby and Hermione all just stood around and chatted about everything they had planned for the vacation. The train finally pulled up and slowly came to a stop and the students all started to exit and run to their families. Hermione was too preoccupied with some of the food that Gabby had dribbled down her front to notice her daughter get off of the train but her husband noticed and his keen eyes zeroed in on the action.

Lidia had woken early and took a shower scrubbing her body clean and her hair. She dressed in black jeans a teal sweater with a black coat that went to mid-thigh, she had matching gloves and matching hat. She wished that her mother was okay with letting her wear make-up but for some reason told her that she wouldn’t allow it until she was fourteen maybe even sixteen. She did however, spray a little bit of her favorite perfume on herself, it smelled like sunflowers and sunshine...if you could smell sunshine. She considered putting her hair up but knew that Kale liked it down best only pulling a few strands from the side back and securing it with a clip.
“Are you going on a date or something?” Delilah asked “You sure look nice”
“Kale asked me to sit with him on the train” Lidia gushed, her face turning red.
“So what?” The other girl asked as she pulled on a pair of jeans and a shirt that she found at the bottom of her trunk “You always sit with him”
“So what?!” Lidia all but screamed “So what?!” She shook her head in wonder “So this is different...he asked me to sit with him...he didn’t just assume that I would” She sighed a dramatic sigh “He actually made sure that I was going to sit with him!”
“Okay, okay” Delilah said sitting next to her “It is a bit of a big deal and good luck”
“Thank you” Lidia said “Well, I’m off. Have fun and I will see you next term, have a happy Christmas”
“You too” She heard as she and her duffle bag walked out the door.
Lidia made her way out the front door sure that she would be waiting for a while as she was nervous and woke up so early. But Kale was waiting for her outside in the cold December air, he was dressed in a thick wool coat that was charcoal grey and black slacks. His blond hair was spiked in to perfection and he already looked to be in good spirits as usual. Lidia was a little jealous about his high spirits, it must come from his mother’s side because his father was high strung and almost always angry. Lidia wasn’t angry all the time she was just, honest and a little bit mean sometimes, she didn’t understand how to explain it even to herself. Neither of them said anything as they got in to the carriage and waited for the others to join them, it wasn’t until they were on the train in their own compartment that he spoke.
“How was your term?” He asked.
“It was good” She answered “I can’t wait for third year though. I want to choose my own courses, there are so many to choose from”
“What are you thinking?” He asked.
“I love potions” She answered “But I was thinking Arithmancy and maybe a Curse Breaking class” She sighed “My mother wants me to take Ancient Runes and all that shit”
“Do whatever makes you happy” He said then hesitated “So...I know that you are Slytherin and all but I was wondering if maybe...you know”
“What?” She asked, honestly confused.
“I was thinking that maybe you’d...” He ran his hand through his hair “You’d...wannabemygirlfriend?”
“What?” She repeated.
“If you’d want” He took a deep breath “To be my girlfriend”
“Your girlfriend?” Lidia repeated, her eyes were getting wider with every passing second and she was pretty sure her mouth had dropped open already.
“I can see why you wouldn’t want to” He said quickly “You’re not going to be thirteen until May, maybe it’s too soon to ask but I just thought that we’re friends and thought that...I’m sorry, it was stupid”
“No” She answered quickly “No, I want to be your girlfriend”
“Oh” He answered “Okay then, cool”

They both sat there awkwardly for a while just watching the scenery go by. Kale wasn’t sure what to do but Lidia was in the same boat as he was, the only advice she ever got from her mother was to avoid boys as much as possible. Her father was going to go ballistic, he would be so angry and then there would be the sex talks with her mother again. Those never got old. She was looking out the window as they neared the train station, she realized that she didn’t know the first thing about being someone’s girlfriend. How did a girlfriend act or talk she had no clue what the hell was she supposed to do if anything. The train stopped and Kale reached over and took her hand lacing their fingers together and smiled at her. They stood together and fought their way off the train while still holding hands, finally they found a door that they would be able to sneak out of. Kale jumped down first and the held his hands out to her, she took both hands and jumped in to him. Both laughing when he stumbled and they almost ended up on the ground, he put his arm around her and gave her a tight hug. He was leaning down so Lidia was able to look over his shoulder when she opened her eyes and when she did her gaze locked on her fathers.

A/N: Here you go. Hope you like it and in the next chapter we see Loki’s reaction. I know that both Lidia and Kale are fairly young but I had my first “boyfriend” when I was like twelve and its not like its actual dating.
