A/N~ So here is the next chapter. Not going to post another until next week. For any following Fate Falls, I will post the last chapter next week as well, still tweaking it.
Whitebuffalowmn – I plan on keeping this up. I will try to update once a week. I am glad you like this one.
Meechypoo – Yay, glad you like this. Harry doesn’t know yet what Draco did, so you will see his own musings based upon his assumption that Draco left. And later his parents will come into play. It did show a bit of greatness in Draco.
Staar – Yay, so glad you like this one too… Hope you like this next chapter.
Easyreader – Yes, I am partial to Snarco… :D I won’t spoil you more… unfortunately only one chapter this week.
Nari-chan – Thank you so much. So glad you like this one.
Eiennoren – It always made me wonder why Snape did not survive, the speech he gave at the first class was so inspiring. I mean really, this is the magical world… right? I rarely write all three, but this just well came to me. I couldn’t help it.
Angie – Here it is, thank you for reviewing. I love hearing from you all.
Mashkai – Thank you. Hope you like the next chapter.

Chapter 5
The sorting hat was not crumpled, it was not looking worn and tattered. When it landed in the Professor's hands, it was like new. The brim shone, the tip tall and pointed, and the straps looked freshly polished. The crease in the brim was the only wrinkle. It opened and what came out stunned the audience. A voice more pure than the soft wind in the winter. The melody was haunting, the song entrancing.
"So here we lay, to weave a bond.
Taking away the hate so strong.
Full of love from age to age,
Our strength united us today.
Loyalties forged in blood and tears,
Will bind us hand to hand for years.
Together we will set the stage,
Working to build a new wizarding age.
Unity crafted by four great hearts,
Will once again restart.
Break not the bonds of peace,
Given in time of great need.
The great hall will honor them,
As they sit among their friends
Until their death they shall sit,
At the high table designed for it.
The Elder shall bear weight,
Of all the learning within our gates
The light shall be honor bound,
To defend on this hallowed ground
The dark shall rise above the rest,
Teaching what it is he does best.
In unity the trio will stand,
Against the darkness of man.
No power will ever rise,
While love is in their eyes.
Hatred dies tonight,
Bound by love and light."
The enchanting voice seemed to drift off with the end of the song. The silver mist seemed to grow and roil, enfolding all three men. Each of the three had a hand rising in the air, with magical threads entwining to bind them together.
Then as quickly as it started, the mist dissipated and fell away.
The three men groaning in unison as they sat up.
The entire ensemble seemed to be gaping like fish at the trio sitting on the burgundy sofa. Yet as the trio started talking animatedly, they heard nothing.
Ron was waiting for Harry to react, but it seemed the dead eyes he had seen within his friend, were now alive again. From what emotions he could not tell from the distance.
"We should go." Ron stated then looked back at the crowd.
They all seemed to get the hint and let themselves be ushered out of the chamber.
Harry had not noticed the crowd. As he came to, he was first realizing that he was not alone. There was something rather large pressed up against him. He could not move and groaned trying to get the other weight off of him. When he felt the shifting of weight, he sat up and opened his eyes. His eyes met the two sets of eyes that he had though he would never see again. Shock set in that one of those sets should be dead.
"I saw you die..." Harry whispered as Severus Snape stretched his head to the side slightly.
"Obviously you never paid any attention in class, Mr. Potter... Neither did our dead friend either..." Severus stated, his voice held no malice though. The sting from many years left his insult a bit hollow to Harry.
"You are not the first one to accuse me of that today, Professor. I paid attention, I am just not always good at drawing the lines between statements and events." Harry countered.
Draco's mouth dropped open, never had anyone he knew spoken to Severus like that and not been hexed.
"You put 'a stopper in death' I suppose?" Harry added, arching an eyebrow.
"Perceptive, who knew?" Severus quipped, the slightest upturn of his mouth showed his amusement.
"Don't mess with, him Harry... He is liable to bite." Draco whispered.
Harry smiled back at Draco, he was impressed with how well Draco had handled himself in the melee even if he had walked off quietly. He would not have been able to hold his tongue to save his family he was sure. But when he looked at the two before him, it was like the scales were slowly falling off. He did not see an ex-Death Eater, A Malfoy, or a spy, Professor or git... He saw two men. As different as night and day, but just men. Heroes in each their own right, much more so than him. Harry looked away, he did not deserve even a smidgen of companionship from such men.
"There you go again, Mr. Potter wearing your emotions on your sleeve again." Severus stated, earning him a quizzical expression from Draco and a shy look from Harry.
"What?" Harry asked.
It was Draco who answered, "Your face, Harry, it displays so much. When you think, your expressions change to reflect your emotions in great detail. Just now it was pride, followed by something I couldn't quite put my finger on, then awe, and finally shame."
Severus nodded, then inserted, "And Draco could not identify the second one, but I can... I am not sure you want me to explain it though."
Harry's eyes squinted for a moment, then he looked between the two for a moment, then down, "Can you feel that?"
"What?" Draco asked.
"The bond, that warm feeling of comfort." Severus offered.
Harry nodded, "What kind of bond, and where did it come from? We would usually be at each other's throats right now. Yet...”
"Yet it just doesn't feel right." Draco added.
Severus steepled his fingers pressing them into his chin as he thought quietly.
"Do you have something to share with us Harry?" Severus asked, letting his tone drop an octave when he said the green eyed boy’s name.
Harry shivered, Draco's eyes dilated, and Severus smirked.
"Um.... well we are in the chamber of Secrets, and I seemed to have been visited by the ghosts of the founders... I'm trying to remember what they said... Salazar was upset too that I didn't make the connection between your 'death' and the speech my first year." Harry grumbled.
Draco's eyes widened, and Severus' brow rose just a smidge.
"They um..." Harry was embarrassed now. The ghosts had basically told him that these two could love him, the blush rose quickly across his cheeks. Just because they had a hatred that ran deep did not mean love was ever going to be a possibility. Harry stood up and moved away from the keen eyes boring into him. He looked at his hands, scraped up and sooty, nails down to the stubs and calluses from hard work.
"Nothing... They just said some wise stuff about life." Harry stated moving to trace his fingers over the names on the wall once again.
Draco looked back at Severus, and then to Harry. Something in the vicinity of his heart was breaking for Harry, not that he ever really felt that before. He had never let himself really feel anything, it was just one goal after another, survive, survive and push. Severus stood next to him and held out his hand to Draco.
Severus could feel the pull as well, he understood the want on Harry's face that Draco could not identify. And evidently there had been words said that Harry was not believing. If anyone asked him days ago, he would have denied it. But this bond seemed to encourage affection, and well both he and Draco seemed to be the ones destined to give it. Regardless of choice, or fate or whatever, Severus would let himself grasp the strand of possibilities. He held out his hand to Draco, and it was like a shot to the groin when they touched. Understanding lit the grey eyes and then they moved slowly to Harry. Severus only smiled and they walked together to where their broken bonded stood.
