“Just what in the world do you think you two are doing?” Ross spoke calmly, though his eyes were far from it. I had the distinct memory of McGonagall looking at me like that first year after the troll incident.
“Escaping.” I whispered, clutching the book a little tighter.
“We WERE enjoying some silence, but now-” Draco gestured towards Ross and this was enough to tip the scales.
“Enjoying. The silence.” He was repeating things now and I wondered if we had broken him. He had said it at least two more times before “Couldn’t you have been enjoying SILENCE IN THERE!?” his voice held a higher note towards the end and I flinched just slightly. I knew that I had lost my temper, I knew that things would be madness now- but I still did not regret it because the look on Ron’s face would be forever branded into my memories, and I deserved that moment after what he had put me through.
I was about to apologize for making such a mess but Draco’s voice, though it was barely above a whisper was sharp in the air. “Do not speak to her like that again Ross, or we will have a real problem.” I swore that you could hear the air in the room when the two men became eerily still as they locked eyes, Ross obviously trying to figure out if Draco meant it. They must have come to some silent agreement that was beyond me because the old Queen apologized briefly to me before addressing us again.
“With what happened we will be forced to issue a statement. Care to comment?” He crossed his arms and it made him look like a preening peacock, I shook my head quickly- I was not to be trusted with the press obviously.
“You heard her, apparently she is a Malfoy now.” I made a noise that made Ross’s look more manly than it was and now had both men looking at me.
“That isn’t funny Draco! Now isn’t the time for jokes!” I could feel the heat in my cheeks, knew that I was blushing a deep shade at his words. Of course he was full of jokes!- wasn’t he?
“Miss Granger is right, Draco, we can’t-” Ross started.
“I believe I said Malfoy, not Granger.” My stomach tightened, he was serious.
“Draco.”I started.
He put raised a finger to the air, pausing my words. “Ross. Can you excuse us. I believe my mother might need assistance with the guests.” He puffed up but left the library, after the door closed Draco looked back at me from where he sat, “Continue.”
I smiled, despite myself. “Be serious Draco.” He stood, his lips forming a small smirk as he walked to me. My heart was suddenly racing more, the hypersensitivity that I got around him kicking in.
“And if I am being serious?” the backs of his fingers traced down my exposed shoulder, making me shiver. “As if I would let you go now that I finally have you?” his lips pressed to my jaw, his other hand slipping around to press against my lower back and pull me to him. “How could I ever let anyone take you from me? Let another man touch you?” Brief flashes of him making sure Ron didn’t touch me slipped into my mind as he lowered his voice the closer he got to my ear. But I was still rational because it was all completely insane. An invite to tea should not have lead to a damn engagement the next day! “You’re MY good girl.” My body trembled, the words making the very vivid memories of his touch come to life in a physical response.
Sadly, I was clever. “But Draco we-” but he interrupted me.
His mouth moved from the shell of my ear to my lips and the kiss he swept me into was mind boggling. The amount of need and level of want I had for the Slytherin was terrifying, but the sudden thought of not having him was worse. I couldn’t imagine seeing someone else touch him, refused to think of him touching someone else as he was me. His hands strong and firm as they held me so gently, the way his hunger was boldly displayed in the way he kissed me, and the way his eyes locked onto me like I was some sort of rare delicacy and he was a predator was all mine if I could just stop being clever. I started where I had left off before his lips tried to detour me, “barely know each other.”
Draco broke the kiss to speak against my lips briefly, a moment for me to catch my breath and settle the dizzy spell his kisses could cause. “I know you better than you think I do. I watched you for years. The little habits like how you hug books and fiddle with feather quills, the small moments you would steal away for yourself when you were a prefect. The way you pretend to read but really listen to everything. The way you stood up to me over the years. Watching you was my darkest secret that I had to hide from the Dark Lord.” He nipped my lower lip, making me sigh in pleasure.
His teeth gently bit into my jaw next, then down my neck as he continued to whisper. “Seeing you come here as a captive was my worst nightmare, it was why I kept quiet. Making sure you knew to run away at the quidditch world cup was why I was lingering in the woods- making sure my father did not get his wand on you.” The secrets he was telling me kept my mind silent of protest, the more he spoke the more I realized just how long the man had wanted me. “When you started to work with my mother I would argue with myself, trying to find a way to show you that I was not a monster. Then you stopped coming. Matthias finding you must have been the best luck I have ever had.”
He stopped torturing me with his mouth and teeth, pulling back to place a finger under my chin so he could guide my eyes to his. “And then you found my sanctuary and you didn’t say no to me.” He lightly gripped my chin with his thumb and finger before pulling me the small distance to him to kiss him once again. “Don’t say no to me now, we can have a long engagement.” He emphasized the world Long and when I didn’t instantly respond in the negative his smirk kept any hint of resistance out of me. He was right, we could claim each other but take as long as we needed. My temper had done something it never had before, it worked in my favor, and now my cleverness was outsmarted because we could make the rules and he had no idea I had secretly watched him too.
His lips were lingering just over mine as my mind raced and then I did the most ridiculous thing. Instead of saying it was ridiculous, I said “A Very long engagement.” But barely finished the last word since he stole my lips as his once more. We broke the kiss when the door opened once more, but this time it was Narcissa that slipped in the door before closing it.
“He has been removed. Are you alright?” She was walking towards me, a quick glance to her son had him shifting to the side so she could step in and take my hand in hers, I was a little shocked.
“Of course I am. It was only Ronald.” She made a face of silent inquiry, “That is not the worst his temper can flare.” I smiled, though it was tainted with the memories of hundred fights with the red head.
The soft shake of her head spoke of the disapproval, but she didn’t comment. “Ross said that you dismissed him. He is currently trying to force Rita to release the pictures of the intrusion, but seeing as this is a public event-” She trailed off and sighed.
“It seems the world will know by morning.” She nodded as I spoke.
She was cautious with her next question, looking to her son first. “What is to be done?”
Draco glanced at me, I assumed to give me one final chance at sanity but I was too far down in the rabbit hole. His smile was brief, barely seen before he turned to the woman waiting for us to answer her. She seemed to be holding her breath, poor Narcissa. “A long engagement. No one needs to know the details of when we became involved, nor details of when we plan to officiate. As far as the world should know, we have been seeing one another and decided to take our relationship further- though had not planned to address the press until further in the engagement due to being able to inform long distance relatives before the media.”
When he explained it like that I was stunned. It sounded perfect, no flaws and room for gossip. It was simple and honestly sounded like something that would happen in this family. Narcissa seemed as awestruck as I was, but snapped out of it faster than I did. “I see that you thought this through. Perfect. We will issue a statement via Ross and state that this was not the engagement party, that we still wish to maintain focus on the resort until all matters are finalized. This will give them enough information to back down from this topic and refocus on our current goals until we give a statement.” She was all business right now, and was out the door to find Ross without a second glance.
“What did we just do?” I realized I was engaged to Draco Malfoy in that moment.
“Whatever we want.” He smirked, taking the book from me. “But we have to go back for the auction.”
“Auction?” I was lost. How in the world could I have missed this detail?
“Yes. Auction.” He was pulling me along then in my bafflement, before I could protest or inquire one bit we were back in the room of many faces and endless music. “Select hosts and guests give up their time- usually a evening dinner. Most turn into formal meetings or the occasional rowdy night out. But when I bid on you, it will be for far greater pleasures, Mrs. Malfoy.” He spun me into steps that carried us on into a casual waltz with a handful of other dancing couples.
“No!” I hissed under my breath, not wanting a scene. “I won’t!” I was already turning red with the idea of being up for all to see and bid on.
“Ross put your name down. Along with my mother’s, and some of the ministry officials as well as a few locations for vacationing.” He was smirking and I was shaking, but unable to stay angry. It was all for a good cause- he must have heard my thoughts. “Exactly.”
“Stop trying to be clever.” I teased, wanting to believe he got lucky and did not already know my expressions and tells.
“I was clever.” He brought us to a stop after another minute of dancing, though we seemed to have stopped where we needed to be because I felt the guided weight of his hand on my lower back as we moved to one of the many tables surrounding the dance floor that were now clear of food, but had small chairs that magically slid out from under the table cloths as you approached them.
Ross’s voice began to echo through the grand room, bringing my eyes to land on him speaking into his wand as if it were a microphone. “For the final event of the evening we will begin the Auction!” there wasn’t a single round of applause, just the high-bred withes and wizards finding seats among the now dimming room. “With the exciting events of this evening already setting a pace, I say we start the auction off with the star of the evening.”
I paled. “Oh no.” I mumbled, feeling the slight movement of Draco beside me since his hand had been resting atop my thigh. When I looked at him, he was hiding a chuckle. “Don’t make me throw you across the room too.” I hissed, hating that people were already starting to whisper and look my way. I could hear both Narcissa and the old Queen’s words in my head and took to focusing on perfecting my mask of polite and perfect Hermione.
“One of this evenings great minds, Hermione Granger- though I doubt anyone will outbid her fiance. I welcome the Gryffindor Princess to the stage.”
I wanted to murder him in so many various ways that even the Dark Lord would have cringed slightly. Many quick flashes of him being struck with countless hexes and curses went through my brain as I stood and smiled to the many strangers in the room. I walked towards Ross, who stood in the center of the now empty but lit dance floor, and stood beside him with what appeared to be a gentle expression on my face. I could feel my mask, it was one I would use when I was reading but didn’t want anyone to know that I was actually listening to them instead.
Ross must have known that my temper was just under the surface because he started to walk around, keeping at least two arm lengths between us as he spoke about my achievements, my academics, and then how I was aiding in the success of the new adventure at the resort. A few numbers were called out but each was quickly countered by Draco until after the fourth attempt no one else tried. He started to walk towards Ross and I, claiming his evening with me when a new voice rang out just as he grasped my hand.
“500,000 pounds.” I almost choked on my tongue.
“Harry?” the shock in my voice was clear since the final member of the trio had chosen to make an appearance this evening as well.
Draco squeezed my hand, I glanced up at him and smiled, trying to let him know that I was okay. “Potter. Trying to steal my date?”
I could have died all over again. “Of course not. Just trying to catch up with a friend before I leave town again. Thought I would drop in.”
I relaxed just slightly, Harry noticed as did Ross but no one else was close enough. With a glance down at me for what to do I nodded my head softly. He didn’t let me go immediately, instead he leaned down and lightly kissed me. This made Harry go stone still, but he was forced to recover when Draco placed my hand in his gently and bowed out of the auction. Ross was dumbfounded, but made a show of it by waving his arm dramatically. “And I believe that Mr. Potter has won an evening with Miss Granger.” Applause surrounded us and we began walking back towards where Draco and I had been sitting, a chair pulled out for Harry on the opposite side of me; now I was between Draco and Harry and had no idea what to do about it or how to react.
His voice stilled my thoughts, “Did Ron beat me?” I sighed. “Guess that’s a yes. I tried to find him as soon as Ginny told me he had left with the invitation.” He was shaking his head, Draco seemed to be a little more relaxed now.
“Well.” Draco started, I held my breath. My best friend and his enemy… my new fiance and his enemy. What had I done?! “Our ‘Mione here took care of him in a McGonagall fashion.” I couldn’t stop the sudden laughter, it caused a few auctioneers to look at us before paying attention to Ross rattling on about the Prime Minister.
Both men looked at me, I bit my lip and tried to stop laughing as I imagined how Minerva would have reacted “Stop looking at me!” I squeaked and laughed some more, after a few moments I was able to calm my soft giggles. “Harry” I glanced at him, “How did you get in?”
He smiled, “Malfoy sent me an invitation.”
“You did?” I glanced at him in disbelief.
“Of course.” Draco spoke casually, “Potter agreed to help with the resort. Didn’t I tell you?” He glanced down with a smirk, knowing full and well he had not.
I smiled, knowing better by now than to expect anything less than the unexpected. “Sneaky snake.”
Harry interrupted, “You owe me an explanation though Hermione.”
I bit my lip and glanced at him, “You said live a little.” He glared down at me, though it was half hearted.
“This is ‘a little’?” he said, and even though his voice held laughter I knew him well enough to hear the fraction of concern hidden in the way he chuckled. I shrugged and it was then that applause broke out around us as the Minister was bid on and won by Rita Skeeter. I felt sorry for him on every level possible.
After another thirty minutes of Ross selling away bits of peoples time and property slots it ended with Narcissa. She stood beside him, poised and graceful. The perfect picture of a Malfoy- a pre-dark lord Malfoy name. This was her element and I wondered just how Lucius and Bellatrix had ever been her family. Feeling Draco’s fingers idly brushing the bare skin along my shoulder made me shiver, Harry glanced down at me from the corner of his eyes but didn’t move beyond that. I was too lost in my own mind with how I was sitting between the two people who I would have deemed purely polar opposite and never allowed within sight of one another, and also the fact that I was engaged to one and so close to the other that I considered him my brother. Somehow while thinking about our pasts together I had missed who had won my future mother-in-laws time slot and was now gently applauding with the room. “Please tell me it is over now.” I said through a smile.
Draco shook his head. “Not even close.” I bit my lip and couldn’t stop the nagging thought that he meant so much more than what he had said. “What are you up to now, Draco?” his eyes darkened, Harry actually turned to look at us slightly. Observant, when did that settle into his habits? I had to be more careful now.
Narcissa saved me without realizing it when she made her way over to our table after she was released from Ross’s grip. “Mr. Potter. I did not expect to see you until tomorrow.” He stood to greet her, she took his hands and began smiling- something else to add to my list of odd moments for the night to study later. “Thank you so much for agreeing to explain the sports and flying to all the families. When Minerva told me she would be allowing families to come watch the matches Draco had insisted that I owl you.”
Draco rolled his eyes, I scowled at him. “Insisted?” I teased in a whisper. Matthias must not have been exaggerating on Harry’s end of compliments.
He narrowed his eyes at me, though instead of the fear I would have gotten from him before I now felt every part of me that was woman twist and churn inside when his gaze held that darkness and looked forward to it. My breath caught, I tried to mask it but his smirk let me know that he knew better. My heart was pounding in my chest, I swore he could hear it. Leaning towards me in what would appear to be an innocent kiss on my cheek and brief whisper it was anything but. His lips were soft as silk in their brush against my jawline, but his words were detrimental to my health. “Don’t make me bend you over my knee in front of this lovely audience, Mrs. Malfoy.” I could feel the heat in my cheeks, knew they were as pink as roses and my eyes were wide with my lips parted into a silent ‘o’. He wouldn’t dare! He must have read the thoughts racing through my eyes, “I would. And you would like it.” I made a noise.
Harry turned around then, looking down at a very flushed me and smug Draco. “Hermione- are you alright?” I chose to take a sip of whatever wine was in the glass on the table and nod with a smile as my answer. “Are you blushing?”
I sputtered into my glass and Draco began to laugh. “Shut up, Harry!” I could feel the heat in my cheeks deepening and knew it was worse than before. Harry was laughing now too, and before I could stop myself I was also laughing. The click and rather over exaggerated flash of Rita’s lackey taking a picture ruined the first carefree moment the three of us had had before he scurried away to annoy the other groups.
Narcissa was in the distance and it was then that I noticed people were making their way into the fireplace. Upon second glance I would have called it something more grand if I knew the word for it because it was nearly triple the size of a large fireplace and had ornate carvings in the stone I could not make out from where I sat. People easily stepped into it with room to spare before the flames whisked them away. “Where is everyone going?”
“To the resort. Mother is going with everyone tonight.” We all stood, making our way towards the dwindling group. I felt self conscious in the dress now that Harry was walking beside me in something that truly outlined all the woman I was. He had never seen me like this, and the random glances at me then Draco with a polite smile was his way of assessing the situation- I had taught him to do that.
“We aren’t going?”I asked Draco after I glanced at Harry, he was now talking with a wizard with salt and pepper hair and a long beard.
“I was planning to.” He answered cryptically with a hint of a smile.
“What is it you are planning to do instead?” the fingers at my back, brushed over bare skin briefly before gliding back onto the thin fabric once more.
“First, a bubble bath.” I giggled, remembering how our last was.
“Think Ross will stay out this time?” It must not have been the remark he expected because he rose an eyebrow before nodding.
“He is already at the resort and has a very full schedule for the weekend. This will probably be one of the few times I can guarantee he will not interrupt us until our honeymoon.” We were now close to Narcissa, enough so that she heard the last word.
“Planning already?” she looked between us, finally able to show excitement now that she wasn’t hosting and it was just the three of us and Harry. I smiled at her, slightly baffled and feeling the infectious happy she seemed to have bottled up until this moment.
“Planning what?” Harry turned his attention to us as the last wizards vanished into the flames.
I did not miss a beat, being around the Slytherins for this long was rubbing off on me. “How to get my revenge for being kept out of the loop on so many things.” Harry had the decency to look a little guilty, while Draco stood there looking poised and innocent while his mother laughed softly.
Draco spoke before Harry could try to guess at an answer. “Hermione and I will be joining you tomorrow at the resort. We have to handle the last few arrangements here before we can be free for the weekend.” Though I knew the plans were being changed in this moment, his mother never let on that she was taken by surprise when he did this.
“Perfect. Mr. Potter. After you.” She gestured for him to go, leaving no choice.
“We will have lunch tomorrow, Harry. I promise.” I smiled at him, watching the tension leave his shoulders as the flames took him away.
Narcissa stepped in after him and then suddenly Draco and I were alone. It was quiet now, everything in the room seemed to stand still and be at peace. Draco stepped up behind me, much as he had done the very first time he touched me. His breath tickled my ear, but his fingers began to undo the braid in my hair until I was able to gently shake out the curls it had left behind after being up for hours. “I love your hair.” He nuzzled into the bit of it that was in the dip of my shoulder and neck. After a moment he turned me in his arms so that I was facing him, a chaste kiss and then he was pulling me with him so that we were dancing to some invisible music only he could hear.
He spun me, pulled me close, would sweep us across the space and then dip me down only to bring me back up into another spin. After my cheeks were flushed and my heart was racing he slowed us, his eyes holding the weight of his hunger for me. It was breathtaking, the fact that he could go from unreadable to an open book was a head rush for me. “Draco.” I wanted to say something, but I had no idea what. I bit my lip, so much had happened so fast.
“Say it again.” My whole body clenched at his whisper in my ear.
“Draco.” He growled low in his chest, something that I found deliciously primal and more addicting each time I heard it.
“Again.” His voice held the strain of a thousand men it seemed. I obeyed and before I could find my breath he had scooped me up into his arms like a bride. I giggled, insanely enough one day I would be just that. My arms wrapped around his neck as my legs draped over his arm, he carried me with ease and I was silently grateful for the weight I had lost during my depression days. Those seemed like so far away from where I was now. “Have I mentioned how beautiful it was to watch you throw Weasley out?”
The giggle that came from me was pure delight in a bottle. “Nope.” I bit my lip. “It was though, wasn’t it?” I was grinning now, replaying it in my mind was quickly becoming my favorite mood lifting memory.
“Very sexy.” I glanced up at him through my lashes and took the chance to do as I pleased.
I began to kiss his jawline, nipping him randomly every few kisses until I got to his ear which I sucked into my mouth slowly. I felt his steps falter and smiled inwardly. A soft moan timed as we neared the first set of doors we had to get through made him groan, I felt empowered and had the move to Checkmate him. When I felt his fingers tightening on me I began to gently glide the tip of my nose over the shell of his ear as I whispered, “Spank me, Draco.” I could feel his heart hammering in his chest, being pressed up this tight to him made it impossible not to.
Without warning he stopped walking, glanced around the hall, then turned around and went back two doors on the right. He didn’t close the door behind him, and he didn’t put me down either, nor did he turn on a light so the only bits of the room I could see in the darkness were what the low flames dancing in the fireplace allowed- which wasn’t much. “Where are we?”
He must have known exactly where everything was because at no point in time did he stumble or hesitate in his movements. All I felt was his very sure steps, the cold leather of a firm couch at my back, and the pressure of his body laying into me a moment later.”My office.” He nipped at my chin before leaning back so he could look down at me in the fire lit crevice of the couch. “Ask me again.”
The way the shadows danced across his face made him seem sinister, the pure hunger that seemed to shine in his eyes made my mouth go dry. He began to undo his tie, I watched his fingers like they were a snake charmer and I was hypnotized. As he slid it from his neck his lips tilted into a smirk, the smirk meant I was a good girl. I was biting my lip when he leaned back down towards me, but instead letting me kiss him he slipped the thick part of the tie over my eyes so I could not see him and tied it behind my head. My world was darkness once more, the unknown spiking the apprehension but also driving the anticipation of his touch. “Spank me.” I whispered, hearing my own voice sound breathless.
His hand slid up my body, to the arm that had the thin sleeve and gently began to slide it down my skin. With how easily he was able to remove it, I wondered just how it had stayed on at all. I was wiggling for him as he peeled the dress off me painstakingly slow, my breathing had become shallow and with the loss of sight my body was hypersensitive. When the fabric had moved to my waist he left it there, sliding his hands back up the now exposed skin of my torso until he was at the strapless bra I had on, in drastic contrast to his seductive undressing he violently ripped the bra at the small piece holding it together in the front. I cried out, feeling the fabric bite into my skin briefly before it was tossed aside and the gentle warmth of the fireplace washed over us.
His teeth took hold of a nipple, the pressure right on the edge of being too much for me before he started to suck and run his tongue over the hardened bud. I arched, running my fingers through his hair. “Draco.” He nipped the side of my breast, I hissed softly since it stung. He began the process of nipping and kissing his way to the inside of my other breast before making a path down towards my navel. I was panting by the time he started to run the tip of his tongue along the line of where my dress was still on. His fingers began their work again, peeling it away from me with his lips following after. When he slipped it from my legs his lips stopped, I could hear the dress being shifted away from us and knew that I was left now in my panties and heels.
His weight left me then and I could feel his hands in mine, pulling me up gently. “Stand up Mrs. Malfoy.” My heart stopped, but I was doing as he said. Where was Miss Logical now? He led me slowly around what I assumed was the couch we had been on and moved to stand behind me, “You look stunning like this.” He took both my hands in his, his palms on top of my hands as he began to guide them down until they touched the back of the couch. “Don’t let go Hermione.” If my heart began to beat any fast I would think I was having a heart attack surely.
My hands gripped the back of the couch, his beginning to slide up my harms, across my shoulders, down my back to glide around to stop at my hips and all with a slowness that would have made a curious mouse envious. The pressure he applied gave him the ability to pull me back until I truly felt exposed. I could only imagine I looked like one of those videos my muggle friends would try to get me to watch, there I was bent over Draco’s couch in heels and panties, blindfolded by his tie and with my breasts free to swing with each swat he would give me. The grinding of his hips brought my focus back to him though, I could feel his growing length and it made me forget to be self conscious. “Say please. Manners matter, Hermione.”
The way that Draco said my name was delicious and it sounded like something erotic and alluring. He could build the tension in me quicker than I could handle, “Please spank me, Mr. Malfoy.” I had glanced back towards the sound of his voice even though I could not see him.
The groan he let out was a noise that only a man could make. “As you wish, Mrs. Malfoy.” He stepped back and didn’t give me time to prepare at all. I felt his palm land on my right cheek, it stung and tingled all at once. I gasped. He did it again to the right one, hearing my sharp inhale. The carnal element he brought to this degrading act was puzzling, because the next two swats he did fast and in a row just above where he had slapped before. I heard my moan and his soft chuckle as his hands began to gently rub the red spots. He found a pattern this way, he would spank me on each cheek once with time in between so that I could breathe then take two quick swats at my ass. He did this until my cheeks stung and he could run his fingers under my panties and they come back with them soaking wet to slip into my mouth. “My good girl.” He slid the panties down my legs for me to step out of then, stopping to kiss the redness he had caused on my rear end.
With a slight tug the tie fell away from my eyes and I was standing to turn and kiss him. I had to feel him, to touch his skin. He was still dressed and that was not okay with me, my hands were sliding under the suit jacket to slip it of him. We were lost in each other, my fingers tugging at buttons while he held me to him while guiding me back towards his desk. I heard everything on top of hit being scattered and shoved onto the floor, my lower back was to the desk and he was furiously tugging at his pants till they were out of his way and he was lifting me up. My legs wrapped around him, my heels digging into him slightly when the hard top of the desk stung my sore ass. I whispered his name, my head dipping back as my eyes closed. He was in me in one swift motion, my moans filling the room as much as the sound of skin against skin was.
Draco seemed to more wild in that moment, more dark than light. It was thrilling, even when his hand grasped my throat and tightened so that my airway was partially blocked but still allowed the barest of breaths to come and go. My body exploded around him, the pressure of his hand sending over the edge. He did not stop though, it wasn’t until I was gripping his forearm with my nails, and my body and hips were arching into him with my other hand grasping the desk that I felt his pace quicken and my hips shifted to meet his every thrust. We took each other over the edge, the pressure of his release tingling inside of me. He pulled me with him to the rug on the floor, holding me in his arms.
At some point we must have fallen asleep together on his office rug, because now soft beams of light were creeping into the room from the edges of the curtain, showing just how much he had shoved onto the floor in his haste to have me. It took me a moment to realize the reason I was so comfortable on the floor was because I was actually on Draco, I slowly looked up at him, not wanting to startle him awake as I began to move off of him. The room seemed chilly without his skin warming up mine, so I took his button up shirt and slipped it on. My shoulder hurt less today, but still had a wicked tinge deep in the muscle, but it didn’t slow me down in buttoning up the buttons in the event of him waking before I was done and not letting me finish the job.
We were alone in the house this morning, I mused to myself as I tiptoed out of the room with my wand. I began to wonder why he had wanted us to stay behind, surely it was not just for the benefit of adding another room to his checklist of places he wanted to get me naked. In the brightening light of the hallway I recognized where we had been when he detoured. The room we had met the ministers in was across from us which meant I had two more hallways to get down to get clothes or I could wander in his shirt and nothing else, barefoot through Malfoy Manner.
A quick spell I had learned from Luna caused a trail of footprints to be left behind me, shimmering slightly to call attention to their shadows on the floor. He could find me when he woke while I stole the morning to explore until he joined me and told me his plans. “Might as well.” I breathed out, after all. This place was my future now by some bizarre turn events.
