“You do?”
Ron turned his eyes on me, and from that angle sitting down he loomed over me. I smiled up at him and scooted to the edge of the rock and held out my hand for him to help me up.
“Oh yes, he spent the night at my place.” Hermione or Ron, I don’t know which one looked more shocked. Probably Ron since she knew the truth and was just surprised I fucking said it. “I left him there resting, he didn’t feel like... coming out today. Why don’t you drop by tonight? Hermione can bring you after she makes that trip to the forest.” I looked at her and winked as she eye-goggled at me curiously.
“Really? Umm...okay.” He turned to my friend slowly, “you’re going into the forbidden forest? The forbidden one? You?” He seemed almost amused by her rule breaking, and I knew my old Ron was still in there.
“I just need…” she glanced at me and I made a tipping back motion, “a potion ingredient, don’t worry I won’t be going too deep.”
“Shame,” I giggled, playing with the collar of my shirt, “I’d like to try it deep.”
The two of them looked at me astonished before I opened my mouth in shock, “I meant the deep woods, you perverts! Where the canopy covers the sky and the air is thick and wet...it’s just so….intimate.” I couldn’t help but look Ron straight in the eyes, “like you’ve entered somewhere secret...private….forbidden.”
“Well,” Ron clapped his hands, his lips tight and his eyes wide, “I’m gonna go. Neville had something to show me. You days have a good lady.” He took a slight bow, blinked, looked up at us, bit both lips between his teeth before nodding and turned to walk off.
“What was that?” Hermione hissed and spun to put herself between me and the vision of Ron’s tight little butt as he strode off.
“Just picking out dinner for tonight.” I sighed wistfully trying to look around her one more time before leaning down and giving her a quick peck on the nose. “Relax, you do realize you’re not the only one who owes Harry a life debt?” I watched her brain shut down. “Just make sure you shave down there before lunch so you’re not all red bumps tonight.”
“W-what?” Hermione fell into step beside me, clutching her book to her chest as we made back for the castle. “There’s a spell for-- Why?”
“Because I’ve never seen Ron Weasley eat anything gently,” I grinned at her and watched the red creep up from under her shirt up to her cheekbones, “and if I want to kiss Ron’s face covered in hair I’ll wait till he can grow a beard.”
--------
Lunch was a fun affair, and watching Hermione shift uncomfortably was fun. To be honest I had wanted to do the same for a bit but my self control was apparently only slightly better. Idly I wondered if thongs were designed to breathe better or if it was made to torture and remind you that you were wet all the time. We’d headed back, well not really Dobby brought the room to us as we went into the forest.
A quick shower and a change in more ways than one and ‘Harry and Hermione’ were presentable for lunch at hogwarts. Everyone was gawking at my new size, and at the way I was sitting. More accurately the way Hermione didn’t seem to realize she was draped on my arm like a fangirl. I was actually surprised to see Ginny taking notice, though knowing what I now knew I wondered which of us she was jealous of.
“I see you are done resting.”
I heard the headmaster’s voice, but the hand on my shoulder was far too strong. Snape, it had to be. I kept my face pointed straight forward looking at Neville who was sitting across from me.
“Hello Headmaster….Professor.” I nodded to the air without turning to face them. “Yes, though It appears the damage is permanent I’m doing much better.”
“I’d hardly call the way you look damaged Harry my boy...are you feeling alright though?” I could tell the old man wanted me to look at him. I closed my eyes, affected the warmest smile I could to hide the fact that I was squinting my eyes shut and turned my face around and up to them.
“Eh? I have a headache, light hurts, but it’s nothing like the ones I usually get.” I turned back, opening my eyes and picking up my fork. “I’m actually glad you’re both here, there was something I wanted to ask about fixing this.” I could feel Hermione had slid away from me at the sight of the teachers.
“Fix? What do you mean? Out with it Potter.” Snape’s grip on my shoulder tightened.
“Well I know you’re doing something to help Professor Moody...I was wondering--”
“What are you blathering on about? I’m doing no such thing.” Snape was starting to get irate so I thought I’d move the charade along.
“Sorry, I just could smell it on his breath. I’ll mind my own business.” I put the fork in my mouth, and looked at Hermione who was also doing her best to not look up at them as she took a drink of her cup following my lead.
“What do you mean Harry? You have us as quite the loss here. Could you turn around and--”
“The polyjuice sir.” I supplied without turning around, and I could feel Snape’s fingers dig into my neck a bit. “I don’t mean to be rude, but his breath reeks of it. I just assumed it was because you know…” I shrugged, “he’s missing so many parts. I thought that if anyone knew a medical application for it Professor Snape or you would, Headmaster.” I felt Snape’s fingers quiver slightly before letting go.
“I see…” I could feel the cold in Dumbledore’s statement. “Severus, would you be so kind as to go do that thing we were talking about? I find myself a bit famished, I think I’ll take lunch in my office today. Harry it’s good to see you again up and about, and don’t worry about the new look. The ladies seem to take to it so why shouldn’t you?”
I nearly started laughing as the two left with a twirl. Dumbledore had his usual relaxed gate...Snape looked like he was chasing a firstie who’d spilled shit on his robe.
Getting up from the table I looked around the room. I saw who I was looking for, and without saying anything more than a swift and kind goodbye to Hermione I made my way out of the great hall. Dobby was on the ball, let me tell you, three turned corners and there he was, bag open and waiting.
I still hadn’t tried fitting through the opening yet, in theory it was big enough for old me. I didn’t get the chance this time either, because with a snap of his fingers I was looking at the foyer of my crappy little tent apartment.
“Hello?!” a voice, feminine.
I took a deep breath and strode through the little flap into the sitting room. There on my couch was a very grumpy and cross young woman with short black hair and soft features. I watched her unfold her arms and stand up at my entry, and it amused me to no end how my new height affected her reaction. Millicent Bulstrode was not used to being shorter than anyone in her year, and right now she could kiss my chin without stooping if she wanted to. The look in her eyes told me that was a no.
“Hello Ms Bulstrode, I hope--”
“Why am I here?”
I frowned, getting cut off was a way to make people lose place, lose steam. It was a basic tactic taught to lesser Slytherin who didn’t know how to manipulate with subtlety. I did what I always did back in the breakroom when I was an Auror and people gave me shit, I crossed my arms and raised an eyebrow. I’d killed fucking Voldemort, twice, and I was going for both barrels this time.
The effect was instant, her brow unfurrowed, her eyes went soft and her mouth slack as she let her own arms fall to the side. Working her lips with her tongue she nodded a bit before adding a soft, ‘sorry’ And sitting back down. The other girls in the room seemed as astonished by this as I was, and not for the first time I wondered what this girl’s home life was like.
Looking around I took the headcount I needed.
Lavender Brown, with her wavy soft hair, her warm peach skin and her amazing eyes. Her figure was divine of course, but it was more the way she carried herself. Nott haughty but proud of the work she put into her look.
Daphne Greengrass, her ice blue stare piercing into me so bad I feared for legilimency not for the first time. Framed by black hair made it all the more striking on her pale skin. She was almost as pale as Millicent, but where she was a warm undertone Millie was practically ivory made flesh. The girl smirked back at me, she must have assumed I was checking her out.
I mean, she wasn’t wrong….
Susan Bones sat on the other side of the room, knees pinched together and crossed hands on them. Her freckled frame was as thick as I remembered it, and so were those lips. The ones on her face I mean, her jeans and turtleneck sweater didn’t clue anything to the imagination except a basic shape, and I had to wonder if she just bought sweaters that were tight on purpose.
The last girl was a complete left field. They’d all been movers and shakers in my past, fought on one side or another in the war….every woman in this room, girl, whatever….had died within a year of Voldemort’s fall, one way or another. Including her.
Glasses thick as the bottom of pop bottles. Two big braided pigtails lay across an immodestly big chest, as I could now call myself an aficionado of the tatas. She kept looking around the room at everyone, and they came back with the same glance.
“Well, let’s get started.” I clapped my hands together and took a seat in the chair Dobby provided and waited to rest my elbows until the table popped into existence. The ladies in turn all scooted their chairs up to the table and sat expectantly waiting for me to say something.
“You’re here, because you received letters from your family...right?” I got a few nods, some with raised eyebrows and very suspicious glares. “Millicent, as of this moment I have personally freed your father.” That got her attention real fucking quick. The other girls scooted back as she nearly came across the table in curiosity. “I have submitted evidence and testimony...as well as some anonymous memories in exchange for...compliance.”
“What do I have to do?” The young girl looked happy and defeated all at once.
“For this? Nothing.” I shrugged and got an angry glare from her, “they are not my business now. Your parents swore an unbreakable vow to leave the country, not return, and not assist the death eaters should they arise again in any way or form.” This had her crossing her arms.
“You can’t make them do that.” Millicent spouted, then sat forward realizing her bark, “I mean, my dad didn’t do anythin--”
“Stop,” I raised a hand, “you don’t have to lie to me, or bullshit me. Your parents did not kill my parents, but they were not angels. Dying of old age on my island is the best thing that could have happened to them.”
“Your what?” Lavender spoke up this time, very intrigued by a show of money. I rolled my eyes dramatically and ignored her. It was a family heirloom practically, I wasn’t even sure it had any amenities but who cared.
“Since they are gone, I will be paying for the rest of your tuition for hogwarts,” I saw her eyebrows disappear, “and the reason we are meeting tonight is to discuss arrangements of lifestyle now and to offer you your new job.”
“Security?” Daphne covered her mouth to hide her smirk with her hand, and I leaned across the table till she stopped grinning at a visually upset Millicent. The girl was used like a weapon her whole life by Pansy and then others. She’d actually died a little over a year after the battle of Hogwarts from spell complications from an injury. She’d shielded some firsties with her own body when a barrage came sailing down the dungeon hallway during the running battle.
“Nanny actually,” every perked up, “I just found out this morning that my….well, lets just say I’m now VERY much a happy father to be.” THAT went over like a lead balloon and I waited for the girls to stop giggling at me and each other before moving on. “I’ve heard rumors Millie that you are absolutely amazing with kids, and you have a strong personality that I know I want to instill in my future children.” I grinned looking over at Lavender, “and as soon as this war's over, let’s just say I’m going to make Molly Weasley look tame. Minus the red hair.”
“You mean it’s not Ginny?” Lavender spoke up again, and I turned to her with a patient sigh, “I always figured..you two….I guess?” She grinned helplessly as I grew more perturbed.
“I am a very very kinky man…” I laughed at her smacked expression, “but until she fills out a bit in personality….it’s like looking at an old picture of my mother.”
“OH.” Lavender bit her bottom lipped and nodded furiously, completely getting my sentiment.
