Chapter 50 – Darius' secret
Hermione's cheeks still had a slight red bloom from her encounter with Janto, but she felt like smiling all the time. Fenrir hadn't been mad at her for being in the library this morning. All her talks with Lance today had gone very well. She had a talk with Thalien and Janto, and even her talk with Karl had went quite well. It seemed the boy had started to realize his mistakes and hoped for another chance to get accepted amongst the warriors in the next acceptance round.
All in all her life was brilliant. She was so high off of good emotions that she even forgot her worries about Severus. Lance had been very nice today. Hermione guessed he was balancing the good and the challenging talks out to influence her with his actions, but she didn't care. One of her most feared talks had already been over now where she had spoken with Karl. It hadn't been bad at all.
“Darius,” Hermione said, excited, when she saw him stroll into the hall. After having a closer look her smile vanished from her face. “What's wrong?”
As soon as Darius realized that Hermione was around, he tried to put a happy face on, but failed. “I'm all right. So how was your day?”
“Don't try to distract me, Darius. You aren't fine. What's wrong with you?”
“Nothing, pup.”
When he used her title, it meant he really felt uncomfortable, but Hermione didn't let go.
“I thought we were friends. You’ve never looked so... so worried. What's wrong? Please tell me.”
Darius groaned and pulled her into a calm corner. “I... I spent the night with Draco, and we parted in a bad mood. Before I could clear things up, he was called for his meeting with the Dark Elves and now I fear he is still worried.”
Hermione was confused. She had no idea what Darius was talking about. “Dark Elves? Draco? I don't understand what you’re saying.”
Darius groaned. “Damn, I thought you knew about it. Just forget what I said, okay? Everything is all right.” He grabbed her shoulders to push her aside to leave.
“No,” Hermione screamed and held him by his wrist.
“Pup, please,” Darius said looking around at his clan members who had been stopped in their tracks by Hermione's scream.
“We need to talk now, Darius,” Hermione said and pulled Darius in the storeroom close by.
“Pup, this is highly inappropriate.”
“You sleep with Draco and tell me being in a storeroom with me is inappropriate? That's stupid.”
“That's different.” He glared at her.
Hermione rolled her eyes. “I don't plan to jump my sire, Darius, so start telling me what happened.”
“Pup,” Darius said through clenched teeth, shifting nervously form one foot to the other.

“Maybe I can talk to Draco and clear things up.”
“I can solve my problems alone. Damn, I shouldn't have said anything to you.”
“Darius,” Hermione said and took his hand. “Please trust me. Let me help you for once.”
“Hermione, I don't need your help. I'm just tense because I couldn't talk to Draco until now. I just want to explain to him that I wasn't mad at him.”
“What happened between the two of you?”
Darius really blushed. “You know what happened.”
Hermione rolled her eyes again. “God, Darius, I known for a long time that you fuck Draco. Believe me he can be very detailed telling us about his lovers.”
“Pup!” Darius exclaimed loudly.
“I mean, what happened that you want to clear up with Draco? Why couldn't you speak with him before now?”
“He said something to me. Something private and I snapped at him. I know that he takes things like this personally, and I hate to hurt him. Especially as he had such a hard day in front of him.”
“Hard day?”
Darius groaned. “They should tell you on their own.”
“They? So Neville is involved as well?”
“Yes, and that's the end of it, pup.” Back was the parental and strong Darius. He grabbed her upper arm and pulled her outside the storeroom.
Hermione whimpered, knowing she had no chance to find out what happened, besides finding Draco and Neville, which she immediately tried to do. She took two stairs at a time when she ran down them to the second floor to Severus' room.
After a short, polite knock she was called in by Severus. When Hermione stepped into the room, she saw Severus standing to her right close to the wardrobe, dressing himself, and Neville was laying under the blanket in the bed.
“Neville,” she breathed out when she saw his face. It was clear he had cried as his eyes were bloodshot.
“I'm all right, Hermione.” He looked over to Severus. “At least now.”
“What happened?” Hermione climbed on the bed and cuddled behind Neville.
“It was horrible,” Neville stated and looked shyly over at Severus. The man nodded and said, “I'll be back in half an hour, Neville. Rest.”
“That's awful,” Hermione sympathized after Neville had spilled his experience from the morning.
“Yes, but then Severus explained what it was good for and he... well... he really made up for it.”
Hermione grinned. “Can I see it?”
“There is nothing to see. Severus made them disappear, and he said only dominants can activate them.”

They all looked with disbelief at the blood on Hermione's hand and on the bed.
“We need to go to Miller. Maybe we can keep this secret,” Hermione said, looking hopefully at the boys.
Their expression made clear how unlikely they believed that was going to work. “Let’s go then,” Draco said, not very enthusiastically, helping Hermione to dress.
