With a soft groan, Harry stretched his long legs out and propped his crossed ankles on Lucius' thigh. This felt good. Though it was several months removed from the growth spurt, he still ached a bit here and there. Besides, he liked being close to Lucius. As tall as he was now, not to mention his long legs, he couldn’t fully stretch out on any of the settees in the place without an enlargement charm on them. This one was no exception either, so he went with stretching out as far as he could and propping himself up.
At the moment, the two of them were alone in the Manor itself as Severus was out taking a turn at walking the perimeter. The news that morning prompted them to decide to take a turn every few hours if they could manage. Amelia Bones had seized the vaults of all those that had been broken out of Azkaban and known supporters. That headline was emblazoned across every paper they received and they were sure it was setting off hell as it pulled funding for many areas. As the two had explained to him, the evil git had other ways of getting plenty done, but money was needed. Lucius vanishing, and taking his fortune with him, pulled the majority of the funding. This bit would take most of the rest he could get his hands on.As he watched Lucius once more read through what was in the Crystal Ball, he asked, “Pick up on anything else we might need to know or pass along?”“Nothing more that I can see,” Lucius told him, putting the paper aside and leaning back himself. After a sip of his tea, he sighed and put a hand on one of Harry's ankles, giving it a squeeze. When the two of them sat like this, it gave him a contented feeling and made him happy. It was even better if Severus was involved. “We just have to wait for the fallout. I expect that to come today, honestly, at least the very start of it.”“How bad do you think it'll get?” Harry asked, curious. The war was plenty bad as it was, of course, so he wanted to hear what Lucius had to say. They were safe, of course, but he was worried about others, especially Remus and Sirius.“I don't know,” Lucius told him honestly, shaking his head. “I really don't. I'm sure the Dark Lord will go mental, as you put it, in a way we've never seen before. All we can hope is those in the 'know' have as much in place as they can get and will do what they can for others. From what we've read and heard, we know Amelia has as much as she can get ready and plans to fight with everything the Ministry has. It's the best anyone can hope for as far as I can tell.”Though Harry nodded at what was said, he didn't comment. After all, Lucius knew better than he did about such matters, though he was learning plenty from him and Severus on the topics.“We're fine, that's all that matters for us. Black and Lupin know what they're doing, so they can protect themselves from any fallout. The rest—if they're smart, they'll have put plenty in place already. If they didn't, well, it's their own fault. The signs this was coming were undeniable after the attack at the beginning of the year. Sticking your head in the sand doesn't help.”“That's true,” Harry sighed. He then decided that was enough on the topic of the war and wanted to switch to something far more pleasant. “I was talking to Kaliya last night before bed.” He started, looking at the fireplace as a knot exploded in it.“Do I want to know what you two are plotting?” Lucius asked, looking amused. He was aware that Harry and snake were quite close. Because of that relationship, one never knew what the two were scheming.“Nothing horrible,” Harry chuckled, glancing back at him. After folding his hands behind his head, he explained, “Just talking about the relationship evolving is all. He did mention something he thought I should point out to both of you.”“And that is?” Lucius asked, shifting around, letting his hand start to rub up and down the inside of Harry's calf. With a small smile, he waited, sure that it wouldn't be a topic that would alarm him in any way.“It's about Sirius knowing,” Harry told him, grinning just a tad as he did. As there was a slightly apprehensive look on Lucius' face, he chuckled then shook his head, “Nothing to worry about. Kaliya mentioned something about concern having to do with the topic and what Sirius might be inclined to react with.”“He is a concern, I admit that,” Lucius told him with a nod, feeling his gut clench slightly. Though Sirius was quite open minded, something that was self proving with some of what was said the day before and how he was reacting to much of what happened, it was a consideration with how protective of Harry he was. To know the relationship was going beyond what it currently was into something of a romantic, and probably sexual, sense had him on edge about Sirius' reaction.“Nothing to worry about,” Harry told him, grin growing and shoulders shaking. “Sirius knows about the attractions and what might be coming. We spent a couple days discussing the whole bit and the why behind it. He had me lay it all out, explain it, the whole nine, so he knows and approves.” With a shrug he then added, “I think he wanted to not only reassure himself that I was seeing it the right way and not as gratitude or just a crush, but for me to make certain it wasn't that way either by making sure I explained all of it. He's not going to say a word, I promise.”“That is rather a relief as I was expecting the worst from him,” Lucius told him with a pleased nod. After giving Harry's inner calf a pat, he admitted, “I had been thinking about how to broach the topic with him as I didn't think it wise to blindside him over it.”“I don't think he would have suggested the bonding, let alone him doing it as Remus suggested, if he wasn't, Lucius,” Harry snickered, slouching down more so Lucius would move his hand up a bit. “He's well aware what it means and can involve. While he might be doing all he can to protect you and Severus after this mess is over, he wouldn't sentence me to a lifetime with the two of you, not to mention knowing sex would end up involved, if he didn't know my leanings.”“Not something I thought of, I don't think,” Lucius admitted with a nod, hand creeping up Harry's leg a little further, smirking as he did. “We've been focused other areas, with all that's going on, and caught up with the mundane.”“And you were just thinking of facing the end of Sirius' wand,” Harry chuckled, the foot of the opposite leg from what Lucius was rubbing now moving up and down on Lucius' leg. “I'm sure a bit of blind panic was coming in over that considering what he's like.”“More than a bit, I'll confess,” Lucius snorted, hand drifting up a little more to where it was now resting on Harry's knee, caressing it. “You forget, I went to school with him. We won't get into Draco's age and so much else. My assumption was there would be some spells flying and I wasn't worried about hair color changing ones either.”“He's a bit known for such things, I get it,” Harry laughed. “So, I made sure he wasn't blindsided.” With a shrug, he added, “He's who I talk to about most areas anyway. Not that I don't trust you and Severus, he's just easier for me with some things.”“No offense taken,” Lucius assured him. Rather than let his hand creep upwards more, though Harry seemed as though he was encouraging it, he reached out and grabbed his hand then pulled him up. Shifting him around, he had Harry straddle his lap then kissed him passionately. Hands drifting up the back of Harry's shirt, he held him close, adoring how the hot skin of Harry's back felt against his palms. Now, Harry loved this! As he moaned into Lucius' mouth, he pressed tighter to him, skin prickling at the touch, making him feel like he was heating up in a good way. And his dick liked it as well, starting to rise and make itself known.Oh, Lucius loved feeling Harry's start of an erection. Feeling the younger man's cock harden against him was an amazing feeling and he wanted more. However, it wasn't the time to press on for more than the snogging, though. While it would come, soon if he had his way, slow was the way to proceed. As he held Harry close, he tried reducing the urgency of the kissing, rubbing his back softly, though reluctant to break it off. With the closeness, he could feel the bondmark Kaliya made tingle in a delicious way, something that was highly pleasurable. He and Harry, both, had noticed it before when they had a couple snogging sessions and assumed that the bond was pleased with what they were doing. Kaliya had assured them all, repeatedly, that the bond wouldn't push for anything they didn't want or create a false attraction, it would only build on what was there. Despite the guilt he still felt at Harry's age and because he loved Narcissa, he adored this as well, more than he wanted to admit even to himself.Though he didn't want to, Lucius broke off the snogging after a few more moments of it. As he did, he put a hand on the back of Harry's head and rubbed it affectionately, smiling at him. “As always, it was wonderful,” he admitted.“It was,” Harry panted, nodding. While he didn't want to stop, he didn't have to ask the reason either and said nothing. Lucius had made it clear after the first dance towards it that he wanted to take the whole progression slow. Yeah, the hormones were screaming for it moving faster and towards sex, but he understood why. After all, he hadn't done anything sexual with anyone yet and was still adjusting to the hormone overload, though it had settled slightly. Not moving and being unwilling to allow Harry to do so as either, Lucius kept his arms around him, holding him close, then said, smirking slightly, “We do need to work on Severus a tad I think.”“Another bit I was discussing with Kaliya,” Harry admitted, grinning again. “We need to get to work on him so he's moving the right way, Lucius.” After saying that, he sobered up, then told him, “I think it might be best for you to put out feelers to see just what the issue is behind his reluctance. While I'm sure I get part of it, there might be more. As long as you've known him, coupled with how good of friends you've been for so long, you might get it out of him easier. Not to mention that you probably know how best to go about asking. It's not like we want him feeling bombarded over it.”“Very sound reasons and the way to go about investigating the why behind the reluctance,” Lucius nodded, pleased with Harry's logic. “I'll sit him down in the next day or so and see what I can wheedle out of him on the topic. Once I get a feel for what's going on, we'll work from there. I'm sure there are reassurances needed.” Severus could be touchy on plenty of topics, so a delicate dance was needed. Yes, he would end up better able to take it on and handle whatever the reasons were behind the issues.Harry then shifted around, flopping sideways on Lucius lap and leaning against the arm of the settee. As he smiled a bit, he ran his fingers through Lucius' hair and said, softly, “I like what we have. Yeah, I get I don't have experience with the real thing beyond crushes, but it feels wonderful.”After sliding his hand under Harry's back and once more up his shirt to stroke the bare skin there, Lucius nodded in agreement. “As do I. Severus does as well, honestly. We're not ones to articulate much, but the expression is easily readable on his face. Which means we just have to nudge it along, nothing more. Between the two of us, we can manage.” Then he smirked hugely before adding, tone smooth, “He won't stand a chance between the two of us, Harry.”“He won't!” Harry agreed, laughing. With a shake of his head, still grinning a tad, he asked, “What are we going to work on this afternoon? Anything in particular? I know I'm really far ahead of where I'm supposed to be.”“It was our thought to take the day and work on what you want as a career. You're actually at the end of the coursework for the year, so we need to decide what we're doing to gear the next set of classes towards. Any luck on finding a path you like?”“Not so far, no,” Harry admitted with a groan. “I've gone through what you passed along to me and nothing jumped out. So, we might need to discuss other areas.”“Easily done and we'll find you something,” Lucius told him, still rubbing his back. Then he began to question Harry about what he really liked of the classes so far so he might get a feel for where they could direct themselves for something suitable.
After watching the elf that popped in hand a note over to Lucius, Severus waited to see what his old friend had to say. At the moment, the three of them were holed up in the library, relaxing in front of the fire. The storm blowing through was getting worse, so the wind was howling and snow pelted the windows as it blew. While they all stayed warm in the house, just listening to the wind howl was enough to make you feel cold, even if you weren't. So, sitting in front of the fire with beakers of hot chocolate was a good way to pass the afternoon.
“Is there anything we need to worry about?” Severus asked after Lucius folded the note up and tossed it onto the table beside him. While Lucius didn't look at all concerned, he wanted to make sure. With the hell going on in their world, it was best to stay alert for anything at all off.“Nothing other than those we wanted to take the bait falling for it,” Lucius told him, looking a tad smug as he sipped his hot chocolate.“The Manor?” Harry asked, looking up from the book he was flipping through. Then, with a groan, he leaned back against Severus' legs and waited.“Oh yes,” Lucius said, smug look growing. “It's seems my diversion with the wards is working. There are a couple people all but camped out just outside the wards keeping an eye on it. We need this. They won't see anything, of course, but it means they’re focused on it and noticed it locking down.”“Very good,” Severus nodded, pleased. “The question now comes in on what we want to try to get them to believe and keep their attention. If they see no sign of you, they're likely to move on to somewhere else soon.”“True,” Lucius admitted with a nod to Severus. After settling back in his chair and crossing his legs, he explained, “My thought was to let it go on for another couple of days before tossing out something else to divert their attention. Like with here, most would know that I wouldn't have to leave to get much needed supplies, so they aren't likely to see me. What I want is for them to think I'm there with the elves turning lights off and on and such, you know the type of bit. As it doesn't have the protections on it this home does, they will be able to see the Manor, just not get in. That should keep them focused. In a few days, I'm going to hop to another well-known property and do the same with it then have the Manor look like its empty. My hope is that they will think I'm unnerved and trying to hide. As I have enough properties that are well known, I can keep this up for some time. If I go about it this way, it should keep their attention diverted to those and not looking at properties like this one. Though they can't get in or see it, my thought was it's best to keep them away if we can at all help it.”After taking in what Lucius said and thinking it over, Severus gave a slow nod. “Yes, it should work. For now, anyway. After a time, though, they'll figure out something is off with the pattern,” he told him, though pleased with the plan.“Time is all I'm hoping to buy is all, nothing more,” Lucius assured him. “When it gets to the point that I'm out of well-known homes, we'll find something else.”“That or hope it's come to a head by then,” Harry added quietly, looking between the two.“Another possibility, yes,” Lucius admitted with a nod. He then reached out and put a hand on Harry's head, rubbing it softly before allowing it to rest there. “Let's see what plays out before we have to come up with an alternate plan.”Unable to help himself, Severus reached down and ran his fingers through Harry's hair, the corners of his mouth turning up just a little. He liked this, more than he cared to admit. It was even better that Harry leaned into his touches and enjoyed them in a way no one else ever had. The others—there hadn't been an emotional attachment to them like there was with Harry, something that made it special in a way he hadn't experienced before.Smiling in a lazy way at the feeling, Harry gave a bit of a grin, relaxing back against Severus. With a sigh, he asked, “What else are we doing today, if anything?” For now, he didn't plan to move and just wanted to enjoy Severus' touch. After a glance outside, Severus told him, fingers still running through his hair, “I say we all just relax. Later on you might want to get in contact with your godfather to see if there is anything going on that we need to know, but it's the kind of day that's best spent relaxing in front of a fire with something hot to drink.”“I'll concur on the itinerary,” Lucius nodded, smirking again. “We can always find some kind of activity to partake in if we grow bored.” While he did like the idea of nothing to do but staying where they were, he thought that allowing the closeness with Harry and Severus to continue could only aid plenty before he talked with the man. The more relaxed Severus was on the topic, the further he might get with greater ease.
After a soft rap on Harry's door and hearing him say 'come in', Severus stepped inside. He was about to head to bed for the night, but wanted to check with Harry since he had been going to talk to Black before he turned in. Though he didn't expect any earth shattering news, he wanted to make sure there wasn't something they should be aware of.
“Anything we need to know?” He asked, spying Harry seated by the balcony doors, wrapped in a thick quilt and sipping a drink. Walking over and taking a seat by him, he looked out and smiled. The view was wonderful and watching the falling snow was quite relaxing. While he had a good view from his room, Harry's was far better as it overlooked the massive backyard.“He says they haven't heard anything. Though he did add that it doesn't mean there isn't anything, just that they might not have heard about it yet,” Harry relayed after taking a sip of his warm milk. “From what he said, they're expecting some kind of hell tomorrow after it truly settles in the vaults are gone.”“Yes, it does take time to formulate plans,” Severus nodded. “I just wanted to check.” Then, standing with a quiet groan, he leaned over and kissed Harry softly. Though he wasn't sure where the impulse came from, he went with it. And enjoyed it, a lot. With a smile after breaking it off, he said, “I'll see you in the morning.”“Good night, Severus,” Harry told him, smiling just a little, watching the man go. That was the first kiss, but he had adored it. And wanted more.
After crawling into bed for the night, Severus curled up in a comfortable position with a contented sigh. When he shut his eyes all he could envision was the kiss he gave Harry before he left. While he didn't know where the impulse came from still, he had to admit he enjoyed it. There were some self recriminations over it, but the pleasure seemed to outweight it enough that he could shove it aside.
As he lay there, he thought about the relationship and what he wanted. He would admit to himself he did, but was finding it hard to get over what else he was dealing with when it came to Harry. Time—yes, he needed time to get a handle on it then see what he wanted to do. If he didn't talk himself out of taking the chance that was. With a grunt, he turned over and fluffed up his pillow then shut his eyes again. Listening to the wind howl, he focused there and hoped to drift off soon. Those green eyes that had haunted him for a while now were there and he couldn't ignore them. Harry—yes, he wanted him. Now to find the courage he needed. That wasn't easy, but he wanted to.Finally drifting away, those eyes stayed with him as he slipped into the realm of dreams and made him smile in his sleep. Harry was better at chasing away the nightmares that plagued him than anything else he had ever found and he loved what he saw in those dreams.
