Suddenly

As if in slow motion, Sirius’ smile faltered as he breathed out then slowly faded into the smoky archway. Lupin rushed up to Harry and hugged him from behind at the boy started to cry out for Sirius. Harry spotted Bellatrix then wrenched free from Lupin and chased after her.

Gohan was in shock as he stared at where Sirius last stood. “No…” he fell to his knees and stared at the archway, his eyes wide.

Vegeta snarled one last time as he took hold of the still living mans head. The Death Eater was missing his arms, legs and Vegeta was cruel enough to even rip off his manhood. The Prince snapped his teeth then easily tore off the man’s head and tossed it aside. He got off of the man’s chest then looked around, his tail whipping back and forth as the battle raged on. Blood splattered and dripped down his chest, arms and hands. Red dripped down his fingers and onto the floor and he narrowed his eyes and looked for a new victim or what the battle’s progression was. He noticed Gohan kneeling in front of the arch way. Past the stench of death, he could smell the cub’s shock emanating from him. He flew over to him then knelt down on one knee “Gohan, what happened?”

Gohan blinked then said softly “S-Sirius… He’s…” he looked at Vegeta, his eyes swimming with tears “Gone… He’s gone Otousan…”

Vegeta’s brow furrowed then he sniffed and smelled that Sirius was here then vanished suddenly. “Where? I do not see a body if he was killed in battle.”

Tears dripped down Gohan’s blood spattered cheeks “He’s dead… He… He went into the archway…” he bowed his head and let out a pitiful whine, his shoulders shaking. He’d gotten to know Sirius a lot better over the holidays since he’d been hiding at Grimmauld Place, even thinking of the man as an Uncle of sorts. The knowledge that the man he’s gotten to know and love as family was gone forever made his heart hurt.

Vegeta’s expression softened at the sound of the cub’s whine of sorrow. His paternal instincts kicking in, he pulled Gohan to his chest and murmured “If he’s gone to Otherworld, he will be welcomed as a hero my cub. He… He died with honor, don’t forget that. A warrior’s death to which we will mourn at a more appropriate time.” He felt Gohan nod into his chest and Vegeta started to purr softly in his chest to calm the cub more, his hand gently rubbing Gohan’s back. He heard and felt Gohan hiccup and he murmured “Shhh… It’s alright cub...” He wasn’t sure why he was letting himself be this paternal and comforting when he would usually ridicule those who cried. But he just couldn’t bring himself to make his mate’s cub more upset. The Prince looked up to where he had seen Harry disappear off too and heard the faint taunts of Bellatrix echo through the halls. He growled deeply then said “Stay here…” he stood up then took off in a sprint towards Bellatrix, wanting to make the bitch suffer for upsetting his cub. By the time Vegeta found them, Harry was on the floor surrounded by a cylinder of sand. He snarled just as members of the Ministry showed up “HEY! VOLDECUNT!” he charged forwards angrily then launched himself at Voldemort.

The Dark Lord looked up in surprise then flicked his wand “Crucio!”

Vegeta let out a screech of pain as he flew past Voldemort and fell to the ground, curling up on his side in agony, his arms clutching his midsection. Voldemort scowled at Fudge then in a whirl of sand and smoke, he disappeared. As soon as Voldemort was gone, Fudge gasped “He’s back!”

Less than a second later, Goku popped into existence and roared “VEGETA!” he immediately rushed to his mate’s side and pet at his body “Vegeta!”

The Saiyan Prince looked at Goku weakly “Karo…” his eyes suddenly rolled back and he lost consciousness.

Goku reared his head and roared like an outraged beast, his eyes flashing teal. He then roared out furiously “VOLDEMOOOORT!”

Gohan came rushing forwards “Otousan!” he quickly knelt down then gasped “His Ki is dangerously low! Get him to Piccolo quickly!”

Goku shook his head to clear it then scooped up his beloved mate and IT’d to Piccolo, Gohan already touching his shoulder. When they arrived next to Piccolo, they saw that the Namekian was in the hospital wing standing next to a bed.

“Come lay him down.” Piccolo said urgently and Goku rushed over then laid his mate down on the bed.

“What's wrong with him?!” Goku asked half angry and half worried.

Piccolo closed his eyes then opened them, he demeanor and Ki changing subtly to show it was Kami present. He frowned as he held his hands over Vegeta “There's some sort of… shield over him. It's powerful.”

Gohan felt confused “Shield? What do you mean?”

Kami continued to move his hands over the unconscious Saiyan slowly “I mean that there is some sort of shield spell blocking me from seeing the true Vegeta. What we are seeing is a mere illusion. It is him, but not at the same time.”

Vegeta’s Ki dropped dramatically and Goku started to freak out “Tell me what to do! I can't lose him like this!”

Kami looked at Goku and said “Pour your energy into him. That should keep him stable enough until I can figure out what is going on.”

Goku nodded then closed his eyes, put his hand on Vegeta’s chest and started to do just that. Gohan shook his head “Why would Vegeta have a shield spell to disguise himself?”

Kami sighed “I have no idea. I am not well versed in the art of magic.”

Suddenly someone came running through the doors “Vegeta!” Draco ran over to his mates “Oh my God! What happened?!”

Goku opened his eyes and growled “Voldemort. He cast the torture curse on him when Vegeta tried to attack him.”

Draco growled, his tail coming loose and snapping side to side “How dare he! Father said he wouldn’t get hurt!”

Gohan narrowed his eyes at Draco “You knew the ambush was going to happen?”

Draco looked sad “No, but he said that if Vegeta somehow got involved, he would never get hurt...”

Gohan’s expression softened, now feeling pity for the fellow Omega. He went up to him and pulled him into a hug, curling their tails together. Draco’s shoulders shook, he felt that it was his fault that Vegeta wasn’t well.

A being suddenly popped up next to Goku and stumbled forwards, blood dripping onto the floor “Kakarrot!”

Goku lunged forwards and cause the cloaked person before he fell “Dad!”

Bardock coughed violently then looked at Vegeta “Shit… That fucking cock sucker!” he snarled then put a hand on Vegeta’s arm “Bastards use the damn spell on you two!” he looked at Gohan “I don’t know when, but the Dark Lord created a spell that takes away our ability to manipulate Ki.”

Goku growled deeply “Disgusting…”

Bardock sighed “Sadly, that's one of the ways the dann lizard is keeping me under his foot.” He pulled back his cloak hood and Gohan gasped.

“Dear Kami…” Gohan murmured.

Bardock sighed “Yeah… The Dark Lord was not particularly happy about my performance today.” The Saiyan had multiple lacerations on his face and dark bruises. He had a split lip and semi-dried blood caking his face “Not the worst I've ever felt but close.”

Kami looked up “I'll tend to you if you wish after dealing with Vegeta.”

Bardock sighed “Only the major ones, don't want Volde to think I need more punishments.”

Kami nodded then looked back down at Vegeta. Gohan frowned then sat down and said “What did Vegeta do? What is he hiding?”

Poppy came rushing out of her office and gasped “What are all of you doing here?! This is a hosp-”

Goku growled deeply at her and said dangerously “Vegeta is hurt and we don’t know what’s wrong.”

Poppy blinked then rushed over next to Kami. She waved her wand over him then looked at the parchment that appeared “Dissimulato corpus plenum? Why would a spell like that be on him?”

Gohan snapped his fingers and stood up quickly “I thought so!”

Goku and Draco blinked in confusion. Goku scratched his head “What’s that?”

Gohan crossed his arms “It’s a full body disguise spell. Makes the caster whatever they want to look like at the time of casting. It’s an extremely high level spell that even I haven’t tried. Pretty sure it's technically dark magic or at least out lawed." he turned back to Vegeta “So now he we know he’s hiding something… But what?”

Poppy frowned “I don’t know how, but the spell is blocking my ability to properly see what is wrong. The only thing on here is that he has that spell on.”

Goku looked at his Beta worriedly “What are you hiding Geta?”

Bardock wracked his brain around possibilities as to why the Saiyan Prince would be hiding something. After a minute, he looked at Goku “When was the last time he had his heat?”

Goku blinked and frowned “I dunno, maybe a couple months ago? Three maybe? Geta said he’s been waiting it out in the Room of Requirement because he didn’t want to have sex.”

Bardock clicked his tongue “Ah, Goku?”

“Yeah?”

The scar-faced Saiyan rubbed his neck “Beta’s and Omega’s can’t go through heats by themselves for a long period of time. Their bodies will start to slowly give out on them after the first two denials.”

Draco tilted his head “Do the symptoms include throwing up? Because Vegeta was doing that not that long ago.”

Bardock looked down at Vegeta with raised eyebrow “My Prince, I’m surprised at you.”

Goku tugged on Bardock’s arm “What? What is it?”

Bardock chuckled “Let him tell you himself when he wakes up.”

Goku and the other’s looked confused but didn’t argue with the man. Kami, who was still scanning Vegeta, suddenly made a noise of victory “Ah hah! I’ve got it!” he grinned “Vegeta’s mind is on the weaker side right now so I was able to see what the spell reversal process is.” he closed his eyes and waved his hand over Vegeta’s body, words being muttered under his breath. When the shield Vegeta had up dissipated, everyone widened their eyes in shock.
