Disclaimer: I do not own the Harry Potter franchise. JK Rowling does. I make no money doing this. I just do it to keep the plot bunnies from strangling me at night. |
“All that worry for nothing,” Draco crowed as he dragged her through the castle. “Highest grades in a century.”
“Would you stop,” Hermione huffed, trying to keep up with his over exuberant bragging as he ran to their room. “We shouldn’t even have the scores this quickly.”
He scoffed. “It’s only the eighth years. They want us out of here.”
“Not as bad as I want out,” she growled, allowing him to pull her into the room.
He grinned as he slammed the door and pushed her against it. “We’re free.”
She chuckled and shook her head. “We’ve been free for a few weeks now.”
He rolled his eyes. “Duh, but I mean like… free of everything. No more quills, no more books, no more teachers’ dirty looks.”
She grinned. “Gonna break into song, are we?”
He shook his head and slammed his mouth over hers. She allowed his happiness to fill her. Since the trials and her subsequent talk with her Master, she felt more at ease. It was hard to let go of her fears but she was finding it easier as the days went by. And now that they had aced the NEWTs, they could begin their life. Hopefully it was a life filled with adventure and prosperity… happiness… maybe love.
Draco chuckled and pulled back. “Look who’s happy now.”
She rolled her eyes and smacked his chest. “Whatever. Graduation is this afternoon.”
Draco sobered. “I’ll probably have to deal with Lucius.”
“Not alone,” she said harshly. “You’re mine.”
He grinned. “Knew you loved me.”
She scoffed and threw her hands up. “You have a one track mind.”
“Nuh uh,” he said in the ultimate two-year old whine complete with hands on hips. “I have a two track mind.”
She shook her head. “Both on sex.”
He shrugged. “But it’s more than one.”
She chuckled. “You’re incorrigible.”
He nudged her. “That’s why you love me.”
She sighed and laid her head his chest, staying quite for a long time. He remained still, letting her take her time. She appreciated it. What she wanted to say was much heavier than the occasion called for. He’d teased her about loving him ever since the trail, but in a lighthearted manner. A tiny nudge but not an ultimatum. But maybe it was time…
“Maybe.”
He stiffened and pulled her back, tilting her chin up so he could study her face. She wanted nothing more than to run away and find the nearest bar to drown herself in. But she owed him this much. So she allowed him to see the truth. She was truly scared to death. He gave her a gentle smile.
“Knew you’d come around.”
He pushed her up against the door again and proceeded to snog the life out of her. He hadn’t made a huge deal of it. There was no crowing, no I told you so’s. He’d simply done what she wanted him to do in the first damn place. Kiss her.
The kiss turned fiery in seconds and before she could come up for air, he had her lifted and pinned. She clasped her legs around him and welcomed the feeling as he slid home. She let her head hit the door and allowed herself to feel him, truly feel him. He dragged his lips down her throat, nipping and suckling as he pistoned into her. He settled on her shoulder and bit hard. She’d have one hell of a hickey but she didn’t care. She needed this.
It ended much too soon but they still had to get ready for graduation. Draco helped her clean up and then kissed her one more time before sending her on her way.

Hermione rushed through dressing and bounced downstairs toward the Great Hall to see everyone one last time. She was light as a feather.
“Ready for this?”
She looked up to see Harry and Ron walking up. “More than ready.”
Harry laughed and gave her a hug. “I bet. Ready to get that apothecary underway.”
She nodded and then pulled back to nudge him in the chest. “And what will you do, oh Chosen One?”
Harry grimaced and shook his head. “Aurors for me. Seems that the need for adventure never really leaves.”
“I’ll second that,” Hermione said with a soft smile. “What about you Ron?”
“Harry’s convinced me to be an auror, too. We’ll see how it goes.”
“You’ll do fine,” she cooed, and then got a hard look in her eyes. “But you better do your own work.”
Ron rolled his eyes. “Yes mum.”
She quirked a brow. “Want me to call her?”
Ron paled and shook his head. “I’ll do it!”
She smirked and walked off. She really should thank Draco and her Master. They’d been supportive of her devious side and it was coming in handy. She could only imagine what it would do in the future.
“Another victory?”
She stopped and peered into the dark cove the voice had come from. Lavender came out, a shy smile on her ruined face. Hermione smiled and nodded.
“How are you?”
“Nervous,” Lavender whispered.
“About graduation? Or… after.”
“B-both.” Lavender stared at the ground. “M-my parents haven’t seen me since… since…”
“The war?”
Lavender nodded. “I came to school right after I was released from St. Mungos and I refused to let them visit. I… I was…”
“Ashamed?”
Lavender nodded miserably.
Hermione huffed. “Ashamed of what? That you fought in a war? That you were brave? That you made a sacrifice? There isn’t any shame in that.”
Lavender shrugged. “Maybe. But… I can’t do this anymore. I know most people won’t understand. They’ll call me a coward. They’ll say I’m hiding from my problems or-”
“Hey,” Hermione said, pulling the girl into a hug. “Look who you’re talking to. I understand.”
Lavender relaxed into the hug and then pulled back with a smile. “You know… being a junkie… it’s not such a bad thing. Now that you have the right addiction.”
Hermione laughed and patted her on the shoulder. “We’ll be family of sorts after today. Are you ready for that?”
Lavender nodded. “See you on the other side.”
“Yo Granger!”
Hermione turned to glare at Draco. She hated that greeting. “Watch it Malfoy!”
Draco jogged up to them and bumped her. “You love me.”
She rolled her eyes. “Whatever. Are you ready?”
He buffed his nails and admired them. “Of course.”
Lavender shook her head in amusement. “You two really are perfect for each other.”
They both gave her a grin. Draco cocked her head. “It’ll be weird… only seeing you at night.”
Lavender shrugged. “You hardly see me anyway.”
He nodded. “True. But I have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot of each other over the years.”
“Look forward to it,” Lavender said shyly. “By the way, when is your next adventure?”
“Tomorrow,” Hermione answered and frowned. “Well… if he lets us I guess.”
Lavender bumped into her and laughed. “I’d plan on at least a week, if not a month.”
Draco grinned. “Well, I for one don’t plan on being able to walk right for at least that long, so we might want to postpone the trip. We have plenty of time.”
Hermione made to follow Lavender out to the grounds where they’d laid Dumbledore to rest but Draco pulled her back, looking pointedly down at his robe. She brightened and happily followed him into a dark alcove. She helped Draco seal it off and waited patiently as her Master appeared from under his robes.
“My pets,” he said, voice filled with pride.
They both knelt on the ground and bowed their heads. “Master.”
He laid a hand on each of their heads. “I am so proud.”
One sentence and their bodies were on fire. Their Master was hardly playing fair. He’d sent pure pleasure in waves through their marks and despite their little tête-à-tête earlier, they were more than ready for more. It was a shame that they only had a few more minutes before they had to go.
“We’ll make up for it later,” Snape said with dark promise before he pulled them both up, kissing one and then the other, back and forth, until they were in some sort of odd triangle of lips and tongues and teeth.
Their clothes vanished. Hermione gasped as they both pulled back, staring at her like she was the last drink of water on earth. Draco silently stalked behind her, allowing his lips to brush against her shoulder and then the back of her neck. Snape picked her up and sank home, unwilling to give her any chance of getting used to him. He didn’t need to. She was already dripping and it was all she could do not to scream at the sudden intrusion. Then she felt Draco preparing her back entrance with maddening precision, lube, one finger, two fingers, three. It really didn’t take him long but it felt like forever. When he finally replaced his fingers with his cock, she almost cried in joy and laid her head on Snape’s broad shoulder.
“Think of this as an appetizer to your reward later,” Snape said quietly.
“Reward for what?” she whispered brokenly as Draco gave a sharp thrust.
Snape smiled and kissed her temple before joining Draco in thoroughly pounding away. “You finally relaxed enough to let go.”
She decided to let them do the work as she basked in pleasure. It had seemed terrifying, to even give Draco a peek behind her emotional wall, but now… now she was glad. The men had the most delicious rhythm, one that she was sure would get even better in the coming years. How quickly before they could just look at her and she’d come, mark or no mark. She couldn’t wait.
“Two minutes,” Draco growled through gritted teeth. “It isn’t enough.”
Snape chuckled and sent another wave of pleasure through their marks. “We’ll pick it up later.”
Snape stepped forward forcing Draco’s back against the wall but that hardly stopped the blond from giving it his all. Hermione threw her head back to lean against his chest. Her core was as tight as a bow string and she was just managing to hold on, keep the maelstrom at bay for just a moment longer. Snape hissed and sent another wave of pleasure, taking her and Draco with him. The world turned technicolor and sparks flew behind her eyes as she soared on a cloud, her peak so high that she almost lost consciousness. Draco’s weak sporadic thrusts let her know he was just as affected.
Too soon, Snape pulled out and set her down, quickly righting both of his pets with a wave of his wand. She was sad. He’d even taken away the smell.
Snape chuckled. “We’ll have all the time in the world after today.”
They nodded and accepted one more kiss from him before he turned into a bat and flew back into Draco’s graduation robes. She kissed the blond again and worked very hard to make it look like she hadn’t just been fucked within an inch of her life. She managed it with gritted teeth and a determined short strided walk across the grounds to her seat, Draco’s laughter echoing through her ears. Let the prat laugh. Once their master finally got done reaming his arse, he’d be lucky if he could still feel his legs, let alone use them.
She took in the crowd, smiling when the Weasley’s waved at her. There would be two graduation ceremonies this year. This one, the first one, was for the eighth years who had returned. It was a much smaller affair. Unlike the seventh years, their group would not be separated by houses. They still wore their house colors, but the war had changed something integral in the group. They would stand together… just as they fought.

“Woman, why are you crying?”
Hermione rolled her eyes at Draco as she dabbed them with his handkerchief. “Because it was an amazing speech, alright? I’m allowed to cry.”
Draco smirked and pulled her closer. “Only if it’s in ecstasy.”
She sighed and shook her head. “Seriously. It’s just… it’s overwhelming, alright?”
His face fell. “Your parents?”
She nodded. “You saw?”
He frowned. “You did it to save them. There is honestly no telling what would have happened if you hadn’t sent them away.”
“They know,” she said quietly. “It’s just… they’re scared of me. They didn’t realize how powerful I was and… well.”
“They wonder what else you’re capable of,” Draco said flatly.
She nodded.
He shook his head. “If they can’t realize that you’re still the same amazing little girl they raised, then maybe it’s for the best.”
She teared up again. “But I’m not.”
He sighed and pulled her into his lap not caring one whit what people thought. They’d already thrown their hats. All that was left now was to mingle with the visitors.
“You have changed,” he agreed. “But you’re not a bad person. You’ve saved my life a few times.”
She huffed and rubbed her eyes again. “Yeah, but old fears die hard.”
“I’ll say,” he breathed. “Come on. We’ve got to get packed.”
She snorted. “I doubt we’ll be needing much for the next few days.”
“Well, I’ve got to pack the lube then.”
“He won’t use it,” she sang as she got off his lap.
“I can dream.”
“Well, well, well, dreaming are we?”
Hermione and Draco stopped dead in their tracks. Lucius had made his appearance. The entire grounds seemed to sense the standoff about to happen. Hermione fingered her wand in her sleeve. There was no way Lucius was going to get his way.
“Dreaming of success,” Draco said quietly. “You should try it sometime.”
Lucius scoffed. “I am successful. You, on the other hand, have cast your lot with this… filth.”
“Watch your mouth,” Draco warned, his wand arm twitching.
Lucius sneered. “You are a disgrace to the Malfoy name.”
Draco smirked. “Finally. I’ve done something to be proud of.”
Lucius drew his wand. “Why you-“
Hermione drew her wand and stepped in front of Draco without another thought. “Don’t even think about it.”
“This doesn’t concern you… filthy mudblood.”
“That’s it,” Draco growled, pushing her out of the way. “I’m through with you, you fucking bastard.”
Hermione quit breathing as the two clashed wands in a duel so fierce it was all she could do to shield everyone else from the backlash. No one could even get close. She knew Draco had it in him. She’d seen him fight dragons and basilisks. She’d seen him break down and be built back up. And now she was seeing him facing his very own demon.
“AVADA KEDAVRA!”
Her heart stopped. The world came to a complete halt. Not again. She didn’t falter. She cast the one curse she knew could only be stopped by one man. And he wasn’t about to help.
“SECTUMSEMPRA!”
Lucius’s robes were in shreds. Blood soaked through the visible areas and poured from his mouth as he sank to the ground. She watched dispassionately as aurors popped in, trying to save the dying man so they could haul him in. They’d never make it and that would be what she’d use to carry on. She swallowed hard and looked over at Draco, dreading what she’d see.
It was much worse than she could have imagined. He was flat on his back, eyes wide. But there was another distinctive lump under his robes that made her hit her knees and crawl over. She took off her outer robe so she could shield him from the sun. She couldn’t seem him turn to ash, not after…
She pulled him free, his limp wings flopping against her arms. His eyes were still fierce, though they weren’t focused. His last act… trying to shield Draco from the killing curse. He’d protected his pet with his life… unlife. She held him to her chest and cried. Her whole world had just ended. Again.
“Hermione?”
She looked up through her tears to see Lavender kneeling beside her, wrist checking Draco’s pulse.
“They’re gone,” Hermione wheezed. “They’re gone.”
Lavender reached out. “Hermione-“
“I never even got the chance to tell them I loved them,” Hermione whispered. “And now they’ve been taken away… just like everyone else.”
“Not yet.”
Hermione looked up to see Draco, face strained with pain but very much alive. “I don’t understand.”
“Reverb,” Draco wheezed. “Knocked me out for a second I think. Is he…”
She nodded. “He… he…”
He pulled her into his lap and they both wept. Snape had been the one person who realized the destructive path they were going down. Instead of condemning them for it, he worked with them. He showed them another possibility. He knew they had addictive natures. He showed them a healthier, albeit dangerous path. But one that would ultimately lead to prosperity. And now he was gone.
AN: I may have cried while writing this. I've got about.. oh, maybe 3 more chapters left. I could seriously go on forever because I love this story but alas, it would turn into a rambling mess and everyone would either eg me on or kill me. :) Thank you to everyone who reviewed. I cherish them all. Keep them coming and let me know how I'm doing. Until next time... Love you guys!
